However, I think "How UNFORTUNATE" is more fitting since its bad but it isn't meant to be strong like Regigigas or Slaking. Also, its so darn cute, its unfortunate its so bad.
Not sure, ferrets are adorable and domesticable, easy to have as a pet in a world full of wild animals. We don't have that many options when it comes to the animal kingdom. But in the pokémon world all of them can be tamed and trained to be your partner and follow your orders, you can even have pokémons that look like dragons and feral beasts as a pet, not to talk about the plethora of extremely cute and fluffy creatures human designed to be that way. @@alexpf925 Yeah, you're right that it'd have a lot of competition, but you do need to remember that people that didn't really care about being a trainer wouldn't have access to the really cool mons because most of them don't live in easy to access places. Wouldn't something like a Magikarp with only splash be better anyways? Poor Furret can't even have a niche of being useless because there's more useless Pokémon out there :( Still cute tho
Furret's pokedex entry Furret, the walking pokemon. A ground type. Furret has been and still is on an escalator until diamond and pearl remakes are released.
And the weird thing is, there is someone at Game Freak that knows how dire Furret's situation is and it's desperate to make it stand out, look at its moveset on its latest appearence: * It learns Me First and Hyper Voice despite Furret not being fast or with enough Sp. Atk for those moves * It learns Follow Me and Helping Hand, Double battle-exclusive moves * Its evolution move (usually reserved for Pokémon-defining moves like Chesnaught's Spiky Shield) is... Agility. My guess is that it's supposed to be a Baton Passer as it learns Agility, Amnesia and most recently Coil. I genuinely belive giving Furret Friend Guard would straight up fix most (realistically, some) of its problems at make it at least worth considering.
The Devs don't care about Competetive, they just want to give Furret moves that make sense for it to be able to perform, they don't really care what we do with that and how we craft strats around a Mons movepool, they just put attacks there that make sense in their minds to them for the animal or monster to perform in the wild and Pokémon universe. That's why Chansey learns Egg Bomb and Softboiled f.e., not because the Devs wanted for us to make it "a bulky wall" or whatever the nerdy geeks say but rather because it has an Egg in its pouch, so yeah. Simple.
Its not supposed to be a Baton Passer, its supposed to be Furret, a furry Pocket Monster that's cute and would make sense living in the wild fantasy Pokémon world.
For example, Drifblim didn't get the ability Aftermath because "it's useful in Competetive", it got it for this reason (in the Devs' minds): It's a balloon filled with hot air that explodes on impact when it pops and therefore harms the attacker. Also the reason why it learns the attack Explosion. Simple really. The Developers didn't really care so much about any Competetive B.S. they gave PkMn moves, abilities, designs and names that made sense to them within the fantasy universe. What we in competetive play do with all of that is our choice and nothing else. Rarely are those ever the core reason a Pokémon's gameplay in that sense is how it is.

Maybe give furret a unique move called “Strut” or “Fancy walk” or something. Which would raise furret’s speed one stage while confusing the opponent. Maybe it will see some use with baton pass then.
They should make it a normal/ground type and increase it's speed to 140 as the Pokédex states that it's very quick but reduce its attack by 10. Also, give it the ability: Walk Walk will increase it's defense stat by 1 stage for 4 turns after using 4 moves in battle and it's next turn will always move first.
To buff Furret, I would give it the same imaginary ability i would give Aipom: Extra Hold. Allows the user to hold an extra item at the cost of cutting speed or attack in half. Good for consumable items, as it becomes analogous to a Slow Start that you can choose when to pick up momentum.
Furret needs a 30 point special attack buff and a 40 point speed buff, with speed boost as a non-hidden ability and access to Draco meteor, good as gold, and V-create. Plus a mega with contrary.
Uh oh, we all know exactly what we’re getting into here even if the title DIDN’T say “how *BAD* was Furret ACTUALLY?” Still interested to hear what this guy is capable of in the lower tiers, if anything...
Here's an idea for a Furret buff, if it could be given a fourth ability: It's apparently good at hunting, so give it a brand new Trapper ability which doubles its power output against a target that's under a binding/trapping move, and can also increase the residual damage. Then actually give it a binding move, like Wrap or something. For a lark, let it stack with Binding Band so that it deals 1/4 damage after every turn.
I think it will still just get one-shot by whatever it is trapping. It needs an ability that changes trapping moves into gen1 wrap. So someone who is trapped can not get a move at all while trapped. That would be fun and make it viable. Maybe.
@@LivingNihilism That wouldn't be fun at all, gen 1 wrap is one of the most hated battle mechanics in history, anything that even remotely resembles it would be hated as well.
@@3.2187_Kilometres How about tying it in to flinching? give furret a hight flinch rate move and an ability, that doubles his flinch rate on trapped targets, or gives X percent extra. Make the move normal type so ghosts and faster enemies are immune. Seems good to me.
@@LivingNihilism So now Furret is just a very bad serene grace user, even with this "buff" Furret would still be awful, it needs a buff to its base stats more than a gimmicky move or ability.
Ferrets menace at their foes. They do a whole war dance. Give Furret every dance, and intimidate. Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Quiver Dance, Teeter Dance, Oricorio's thing, and intimidate. And stats.
Easy Mega Furret: Normal/Ground Ability: Huge Power HP: 85 Attack: 116 Defense: 74 Special Attack: 45 Special Defense: 70 Speed: 125 Big boosts to its best stats and a very minor increase in overall bulk.
This might be the first time I've seen someone suggest an evolution where I didn't think "Please don't give **insert Pokémon here** access to Eviolite".
Poor Furret. It's cute, but it's soooo bad If it got the Dodrio treatment where GF gave it some extra base stats, it might be worth a damn. Perhaps Extremespeed as well. Maybe a good coverage move or two. At least then, it might have some sort of niche in a low tier.

@@lynxfresh5214 Mate I know but a couple of things 1, Furret doesn't exist in gen 8 meaning my original comment was clearly referring to gen 5-7 and Sword and shield is a constantly changing metagame and as soon as DLC 2 (or now that I think about it NU or PU hasn't really been hit by dlc one yet so when that comes) comes out those Mons are going straight back to untiered. Especially Flareon who is dropping in usage already since Perseker got banned..
I actually had the most annoying strat ever with furret in gen 6 hackmons. I gave every furret wonderguard and then gave furret 1 belly drum. The other furrets had reversal, minimize, bulk up and baton pass. Furret 1 had baton pass too. I also gave every furret a focus sash and made the HP, defense and sp defense EVs and IVs 0. The opponent would hit furret with a super effective move potentially ohkoing it. Furret 1's whole purpose is to belly drum and baton pass to any furret. After that, I would start spamming minimize until the opponent would decide to attack. When they did, I would use reversal (with 4x attack and 1 HP that move can ohko Arceus.) and if the furret gets KO'd I still had a Mega Gallade backup. I pissed off everyone with 5 furrets and a mega gallade.
Despite how bad Furret is, it somehow became one of my most important Pokemon in a Pokemon Crystal Nuzlocke I did. Her name was Scout, and she managed to take down all three of Clair's Dragonairs, and barely survived a huge hit from her Kingdra, guaranteeing that the battle was safe for Red Gyarados to come out and take over. And how could I ever forget how she flinched all of Sabrina's Pokemon with Headbutt, getting me through the battle without her taking a single hit? While she may not have done anything past that, I could never forget the amazing feats that she pulled off before she was retired safely in the PC. The world of Pokemon is quite the peculiar one at times.

*ITS THE LAW*
Not gonna lie, you had me in the first bit with that "furret rose to OU" XD
Sentret was the very first shiny pokemon I ran into on my very first play through of Silver. Because of that it will always have a place in my heart.
when a new region is announced, they should give furret a new from, that walks on thin air, likely psychic or electric
Flying Electric
How is that a buff to furret? Your just making a new Pokémon that’s better then furret
@@GravityIsFalling Mega Furret then
@@MariOmor1
No
Just buff furret smfh
7:03 I lost focus because of how funny that animation is
Furret : Who are you?
Raticate: I am you but better.
We’ve had Raticate, now Furret, it’s time.... How GOOD was Linoone (and Obstagoon?) ACTUALLY?
Pretty decent. Not a high tier, but at least, Linoone have some good tool.
@@MidoseitoAkage I know it's been forced into UU several times and has made the best of what it could do, but I really wanna see in full detail what were its struggles and best uses
You forgot bibarrel, thank you i hate him.
Maybe give furret a unique move called “Strut” or “Fancy walk” or something. Which would raise furret’s speed one stage while confusing the opponent. Maybe it will see some use with baton pass then.
You should see Furret’s Shiny Form; I love the strawberry and cream colors! And by the way, how good was Sylveon actually??
tfw a pokemon is an iconic face in a town music thats not even from its original gen
Its the best mon in Furret-used
Jimothy Cool hosting a tournament this weekend
FSG’s video production has gone so far up since the first few vids that fucking Furret has a longer video than all of the Gen 1 Starters
When you're outclassed by normal Farfetch'd you know there's a problem.
Fortunately, Furret is top tier in cuteness.
And, who knows, Furret might come back with a vengeance someday.
But it useless compared to the powerful one such Landorus Therian Form.
Finally! Ive been asking for ages!
Needs an update, Furret was OU for a month
They should make it a normal/ground type and increase it's speed to 140 as the Pokédex states that it's very quick but reduce its attack by 10. Also, give it the ability: Walk
Walk will increase it's defense stat by 1 stage for 4 turns after using 4 moves in battle and it's next turn will always move first.
The most important Furret fact, it can walk.
Will always remember this mon as Dustbuster. The Killer Nacho's Gen 4 videos were my first introduction to comp.
Uh oh, we all know exactly what we’re getting into here even if the title DIDN’T say “how *BAD* was Furret ACTUALLY?”
Still interested to hear what this guy is capable of in the lower tiers, if anything...
Oh lol the video title has changed. Poor Furret, man.
@@SSB_Seal furret is a regional rodent so it's weak purposely
Here's an idea for a Furret buff, if it could be given a fourth ability:
It's apparently good at hunting, so give it a brand new Trapper ability which doubles its power output against a target that's under a binding/trapping move, and can also increase the residual damage.
@@3.2187_Kilometres I am just theory crafting with the theme of the original comment. If you dont like that, then thats your thing.
FSG: puts unfortunate in the title
Literally everyone watching: I see this as an absolute win
Ferrets menace at their foes. They do a whole war dance.
Give Furret every dance, and intimidate. Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Quiver Dance, Teeter Dance, Oricorio's thing, and intimidate.
And stats.
I look forward to Sunday for these types of videos
i perspnally would triple all it's stats and give it "furret walk" witch it a base 200 power normal type move and i'd also give it wonder guard
So basically an Evolution?
@@autobotstarscream765 That would be overkill
@@cespu_iv4519 I know, that's the joke...I presume OP is joking. 😅
@@autobotstarscream765 lol
Sounds good to me.
Easy Mega Furret:
Normal/Ground
Ability: Huge Power
HP: 85
Attack: 116
Defense: 74
Special Attack: 45
Special Defense: 70
Speed: 125
Big boosts to its best stats and a very minor increase in overall bulk.
Honestly, screw buffs. Furret should just get an evolution.
This might be the first time I've seen someone suggest an evolution where I didn't think "Please don't give **insert Pokémon here** access to Eviolite".
Normal/Ground, either Guts or maybe Strong Jaw
HP: 105
Atk: 116
Defense: 84
Sp Atk: 45
Sp Def: 74
Speed: 110
Evolves at Level 45 and learns elemental fangs upon evolution.
@@gengarzilla1685 bruh
@@rjante2236 lmao
Exactly, just like zigzagoon got one. An evolution and maybe a different form with a secondary type could already be enough to make it viable.
Furret was always one of my favorite pokemon, and using it was the reason I got into competitive. Just trying to use it
Poor Furret. It's cute, but it's soooo bad
If it got the Dodrio treatment where GF gave it some extra base stats, it might be worth a damn. Perhaps Extremespeed as well. Maybe a good coverage move or two. At least then, it might have some sort of niche in a low tier.
You know it's bad when the vid is under 10mins...
Poor Furret!
Well with the current style, a lot of good mons early on in the past style can't even reach 10, tyranitar, the absolute menace had like only 13 minutes.
I thought the same thing.
Furret walked right into untiered to give Luxray and Flareon company.
@@3.2187_Kilometres Currently in Gen 8 Luxray is solidly in NU (with a tiny niche in RU) while Flareon does pretty well in PU however the crown tundra DLC will likely change things (for better and for worst).
The only Eeveelution that's currently untiered (in gen 8) is Leafeon... :/

NONO NO NO NO NO NO NO furret did receive a huge buff in gen 5
Accumela town aka the furret song was introduced in gen t
True
how could you do my ground type man like that, bro
Misty approves this message
"I figured a ground type pokemon would be strong against an electric type"
Furret goes in the category of mons I just forget exist
Who else remembers in the anime when Misty called Furret A ground type?
FSG: *Makes Furret Video*
Patterrz: *Box has entered the building!*
He might be unfortunate, but all he wants is to WALCC!

Implying Farfetch'd is worse than Pidgeot and Dunsparce?
Buffs for furret: +20 attack, +5 speed, swords dance, and extreme speed. Probably all it needs to get a niche in PU
I do not care how good Furret is. They will always have a special place in my heart.
Loved how he changed it up. "Regrettably" as opposed to unfortunately when the video started.
I ran a gen 6 pu furret to great success actually. The fact it gets coil and substitute along with dynamicpunch and knock off is quite deadly
I guess that's why Furret hunts Rattata: To prevent it from evolving because it would lose.
