Mel: Yeah sorry, Grandfather completely remodeled the place Hades: *remembering all the hard work and money that Zag put into fixing the place up* ... Bastard.
Bro the MOMENT the members of the House are freed, they are gonna raise HELL for that, because God damn Zagreus put his blood, sweat and tears into that!
I love how Hades is pretty much the exact same in demeanour, but with Melinoe he’s somewhat more inquisitive, most likely due to how much he missed her and is trying to make up for some of the lost time. He pre-faces his question with “senseless curiosity” because ofc its Hades and he wasnt always one for small talk, but he’s making that effort not only because he cares about how his house is looking but to also just talk with his daughter. Usually when its him and Zag, its always Zag asking questions, Hades answers grumpily, Zag responds, and then Hades yells angrily😂
He tries to be like this with Zagreus during the endgame, having recognized how MASSIVELY he f^cked up with raising Zagreus, and that he essentially wasted the chance The Fates gave him to be a father the first time around. With Melinoe, it’s been some time past the end game, and I like to think that he and Zagreus *did* eventually heal that rift between them. He’s had practice to come this long with with his children, and then they were taken from him. He’s lost, but hopefully, hasn’t given up.
I think he might have also been learning how to be a better father from Zag and Persephone before Chronos reformed and broke out. So he's striving to make them proud and not repeat the same mistakes he made with Zagreus while interacting with Melinoë.
That is LEGITIMATELY the first thing I noticed when I reached Chronos the first time. I just mouthed off "WHERE IS ALL MY SHIT??" if you look into what used to be a lounge you can see several taken down decorations cramped together into it like a storage closet including the Notorious Sun Dial. at least chronos didnt just trash the stuff assuming hes been head of tartarus for a while now
“Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my gems… and my diamonds… even my darkness. The house I’ve lost… the decor I’ve lost… won’t stop hurting… It’s like they’re all still there.”
Imagine the Biggest Twist Boss Fight for Hades 2 whether in the Underworld or better yet Olympus, Melinoe would have to fight her older brother Zagreus and the possibility of him being mind controlled is pretty high! Why did I imagine this twist? Because it would make the most sense and it would make us hate Chronos even more!
Not really, but the gap in aesthetic is intentional, Chronos is a Titan, not an Olympian, different pantheon, one that was previously laid low by the Olympians such as Zeus
