Me buying my first motorcycle ever: "So the Neutral Bulb isnt coming on"
Seller: "Oh yeah its no big deal to fix"
Me, a freaking idiot: "Oh cool ok I'm not worried about it then"
Me, watching this video trying to add up how much its going to cost to get it fixed: "Just freaking great"

Never knew the N switch was there. But as well as that, this is a great how to for my forthcoming Belt to Chain conversion. Thanks man.

Rocco, have you ever work on a 650cc Vulcan s abs motorcycle? Thinking about getting one for myself.
No I have not worked on an 650, I have worked on 800 and 900 Kawasaki are great bikes. Thank you for your support.
I just started my 2003 RK after 8 years sitting in my garage with new battery/gas. the nutral light does not light up now. it was working before... is it the same way to replace the switch as Sporster?
Yes it is, Let us know how this works out. Thank You for your Sub Reza. Any questions just ask. Ride Safe and have a Great Day.
Nice job man. Is there anyway to do this without a gun my garage is not that well equipped?
It has red loctite, And reverse tread.Tip go reverse then forward with that nut, the loctite. will lock up tread when you try to just remove in one direction. Not easy. See what harbor fright has, if you don't like it return it. Or see if your local auto part store rents one. 1/2 electric impact gun. Any questions just ask. Thank you for your Sub Alan. Why is the job so complicated for a fucking light

Love your vids Sir, but this really convinced me I picked the right solution: Don't worry about this N light and find neutral intuitively by shifting back up from 1st real smooth and gentle. Works just fine and avoids me fiddling with mufflers, exhaust, pulley, back wheel adjustment and what not lol.
Great job for sure, but above my pay grade ;)
Happy to help. Sounds like you fully understand the situation. Thank you for watching and your sub.JFA. Ride safe and have a great day.
Lol I have the same issue, but I agree with you, I could live without the neutral light.
I know how you feel, Jacques; I have lots of tools, but my Sporty is nearly 20 years old, and I just know it's gonna fight me more than Rocco's bike did. I've been finding neutral without the light for three years now.
I love your videos. They're so helpful and easy to understand. Thanks for all your hard work. You are the real deal.

My neutral light is not always coming on in neutral. I bought the switch. I watched your videos. Very good and informative. Any other advice before I start pulling it apart. I would hate for it to be something else. Thank You, Ron. BTW you sound like you are from PSL. 😊

Beautiful 👍
Is an electric impact wrench with 300 ft. lb. of fastening torque going to be able do the job?
Happy to help. I don't think 300 foot pounds will do it. My gun is 1200 pounds, and with the red thread locker on it makes it quite a bear. You gotta go back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth with the gun because I tried blocker gets caught in threads. Thank you for watching and you sound Wolfin Darkling. Ride safe and have a great day. Let us know how it works out. That is the hardest part of this job.
Is it a similar repair on a Dyna '12
It is a different set up for your neutral switch. Yours is on top of your transmission on big V Twins. It is an easier fix. Take a look at this video of a softail. same motor trans set up. ruclips.net/video/dGbp4LbXM1o/видео.html. You can test the same as on sportster. Hope this helps. Let us know how this works out. Thank you for your Sub Aamir. Ride Safe and have a great day.
For anyone attempting to do this yourself... do it EXACTLY as he has presented and you'll be good to go.
There is no easier, or simpler, shortcut for changing out the neutral switch.
The 1 7/8" socket can be bought as a single unit, or you can buy a set of impact sockets off Amazon, for not much more than the single.
I bought a 1/2" drive set of 4 different impact sockets for $35 - I used a battery powered Ridgid 18v 1/2" impact wrench and it worked perfect for the sprocket nut.
Happy all went well. Thank you for your kind words. And for all your support New York. Ride safe and have a great day.

Great video 👍🏼 what year is that Sportster? My 07 1200 Custom neutral light sometimes works, at start it won't, engage clutch and after starting it will come on, riding and coming to a stop it will come on, just time to time it won't, especially when sitting.

Thanks Rocco I do have an question - My 2000 1200 w/ 34 k miles just dies while ridding & steadily gotten worst over time & will Not restart till 5 mins 1- 3 hrs later ...Luckily yesterday while testing my ignition module watching red light flashing she died again after only 2 mins idle & when I tried an restart crankin Over NO red light of Module but Coil still had 12 V Power .. so ? - can an Ignition Module work one min & not the other ?? - or could it be something else upstream of the Ignition Module Power source or input power Dropping Out upstream .... bc it differently No Out Put to trigger the coil ...... Know that's a lot , but any help or advice would be Greatly Appreciated Thanks
Happy to help. The ignition module in your bike is in the motor cone, so there's a lot of heat. Y America bitou will have a lot of intermitting problems. Doesn't that large nut require a torque?
Indexed it it has a locking ring make a mark and return it back to that and put everything back together remember that has red Loctite on it approximately 160 foot pounds and you won't have that torque wrench.Make aN index market and return it back to where it was and you will not remove it unless you have a heavy duty impact. Hope this helps thank you for watching in your sub Monti ride safe and have a great day.
@@TwoWheelRocco cool thanks for your quick reply. The reason I asked this is because several years ago I had a mechanic do some primary work on my ultra classic. When he put the compensating sprocket back on he didn't lock tight the nut nor torque it. In norhtern Wyoming the sprocket came loose and I babied the bike to Rock Springs,Wyoming to have it repaired.Whew
@11:35 is what we want
