    this is actually the nicest thing Carvin can ever do :) build a tribute guitar for an artist that is still alive and dont wait with building it after he dies.

      Best part is some of the money from the sales of this beautiful axe goes to Jason for care - treatment etc. Aside from being a great guitarist, he's fucking musical genius. After all he's been through, he's still a players player - a mans- man. RESPECT !!!!!!!!

    We offer Sperzel locking tuners as standard on all our neck-through-body guitar models. We offered the Floyd Locking Nut as Jason preferred a locking Floyd system be offered on this guitar.

    In the late 90's Carvin redesigned the DC model guitars so the neck sat lower into the body. This provided greater comfort to the player and is our standard now for all DC neck through body guitars. When Kahler came back into production, we tried to install a Kahler system. In order to get the bridge to sit low enough, we had to sink the Kahler deeper into the body which prevented access to some of the side adjustment screws. Jason also requested a Floyd. If you read his Facebook he reiterates.

  • @rokker1707
    @rokker1707 12 лет назад

    The only TRUE way to make sure it stays in tune you when you grad that bar during a blizting lead and take it down to the body or backwards either, which he was classic and fluent at all tremolo styles....Just opinion of course but I understand it...my guitars are all set up that way also...they just stay put that way, lol...Jason Becker the master, very inspirational to see a tribute done to his original, nicely done folks...extremely fitting as he is just as inspirational....

    I have a CS-6 and it is one of the best guitars I've ever played. I don't own these guitars but I have played them. I have played both of Zach Hanson's FGN guitars, PRS single cut, Tom Andersen telecasters, and a bunch of high end Les Pauls, and I wouldn't trade my Carvin for any of them. All of the guitars I mentioned are awesome, and the Carvin is right there with them.

    Nice to see a good guitar company showing use of CNC machines. Some players out there seem to think luthiers impart magical properties onto guitars when they use hand tools that make CNC made guitars inferior in comparison.

    I think it's an excellent decision. I was actually sold on Carvin for having the Sperzels when shopping around. Stays in tune like a dream. I also like that if I order this guitar, I can opt to block the trem and leave the locking tuners off and use it like that if I desire.

      Check the jb200c specs, I even called them and they said that the company that supplied them the electronics for the active/passive system "went to shit".
      I'm not all too bummed anymore though because after reading a lot of forum posts, Carvin Active electronics were nothing but trouble.
      Still have 3 weeks to go for my jb200c, no Active electronics, but installed a 5 piece maple neck free of charge. Can't wait.
      I recommend buying one soon because they already increased the base price by $50 and limited the options even more since I bought mine back at the end of December. Also, they are in the process of eliminating their 22 pole pickups, leaving the SD Perpetual Burn pup and their crappy lithium pups. Jeff is seriously defacing what the company stood for, wouldn't be surprised if they stop printing Carvin on the headstock soon.

    • @squashvids1032
      @squashvids1032 6 лет назад

      I can't believe it. Thanks for the heads-up, though. Even if their active electronics were bad I still think it just isn't fair with the newer costumers (you and I). We are pretty much paying the same amount of money for a guitar with less features than the one we could have bought say 4 years ago. I really wanted to buy this guitar but now I'm having second thoughts.

    There's been a lot of speculation about Jason's personal guitar. It was not Walnut, it did not have a 5-piece neck. We have detailed photos of his guitar. These were referenced and together with Jason, we came up with the JB200C, offered with a Floyd Rose per Jason's request and approval of the legal and current Carvin pointed headstock shape.

    ALL Carvin neck-through-body guitars come standard with Sperzel locking tuners. When someone orders a Floyd with a locking nut, we don't swap out for non-locking tuners. The headstocks are all drilled to fit Sperzel tuners...period. So even though it may seem like overkill, it's really to streamline our production by offering only one type of machine tuners.

    Hey man. Its gonna be a 25" scale neck. The radius will be 12". Somewhere I read that Jasons original body wood on his blue Carvin was walnut. On this one they will be using Alder. Not too sure why though... Here's all the info on it! Now I just need a job and to save up for one of these =D

    I could go either way with trems. For feel, Kahler, for tuning stability, Floyd. I am aware that on his later guitars, Jason did use a Floyd. Anyway, I wish Carvin didn't stop putting Kahlers on their guitars. I guess the demand wasn't great enough.

    Carvin dealers outside the USA were being undercut. With any USA made product, the dealers in other countries need to charge for local tax, duties etc along with their profit mark-up. Selling direct almost killed our dealer program so we are protecting not only the dealers, but hopefully helping both economies (USA and Foreign) by keeping your local Carvin dealer in business.

    Dear Carvin can you order this guitar with the low pro Floyd instead of the standard? Its a whole different thing in string spacing and also smaller in the rear. Also, I have read the dealer answer and though i see your point in some countries (like mine) dealers make so much profit that your guitars are up to 2,5-3 times the direct price, making them impossible to get.

    At time index 2:43 on the video Both Sperzel Locking tuners and a locking nut can be clearly seen on the guitar. Now my question is Why Both on the same guitar at the same time? Is this not overkill? What purpose does it serve ? Or was this something Jason Likes on his guitars? No Disrespect, I just want to know Why.

    I don't think having both the locking tuners and the locking nut is Overkill. First of all with the locking tuners, the string don't need to be wound and it is much easier to change strings. It takes away some work.Secondly if you are a guitar player who plays with extreme tremolo use, believe me the locking nut serves. I have a Fender Strat with locking tuners and a really good bridge. If I go insane on the tremolo my guitar goes a bit out of tune. And no one wants that I guess.

    Ah, I can live with 1/4" difference - the radius isn't going to match the trem of course but that's a simple shim job.....however it would have been nice to have it rather more authentic with a Kahler, Walnut body, quick release nut etc.
    Still, at least they're going to make sure that Jason receives his dues.
