Nuke_Clan ofc I know! But the guitar was built, so that when he wanted to play his insanely fast runs, the guitar wouldn‘t be in the way. For ex: the guitar has a thinner neck then all other Kiesels. But what I love about the guitar is, that it has soooo much sound options, which was perfect for Jason Beckers Style. I wish that I can visit Jason one day, because he‘s one of my biggest inspirations.
Great that Carvin Guitars have not forgotten about Jason Becker. A legend to those in the know. I found out about him today and easy to see why he was/is so admired and respected.
Finaly some coverage of the Carvin boot.. Amazing guitars those Carvins...High end custom shop builder. I own the Carvin Legacy 3 with a 2x12 cabinet and it rocks. I have a JB in order from them as well...
I have a CS6 24 fret. And finish is AMAZING! I love the fact that it was made in San Diego, CA. There is a lot of variety of tones with the split coil. Sustain reminds of a LP. I want the Alan Holdsworth model now. Its 6 Lbs. the California Special is as heavy as a LP.
Thought I recognised the guy playing the Becker model, then the cameraman moved around to bring his nametag into view and he started playing "I'm Alright" and HOLY SHIT IT'S NEIL ZAZA
Carvin builds custom guitars. What he showed was one of the options. If you go to carvin's website and go to the section where they show the ct7 they'll have a guitar builder where you can build that guitar exactly to your specs. To make it easier, you can just call them and literally tell the person that you want the guitar on this video and they'll figure out all the specs and pricing for you. I'm getting a DC727 from them next week, super excited. Great company IMO.
1. Go to carvin's website. 2. Click "guitars/basses" towards the top of the site. 3. Pick a category whether it's electric guitar, bass, acoustic etc. Also what's in stock. 4. If picked guitars, now you can look at neck through guitars, bolt on, 7/8 string guitars etc. 5. Once you select a type of guitar you'll see the models. Look at each and see what features each have before clicking on one. 6. Click the guitar you want then on the right click "build" and explore.... Good luck.
awesome! they look like a well made instrument...love to try one....i have never seen one at a music store here in canada....thank you for that info...i will keep my eyes open, cheers! :)
Ha!. :) I did get them to make some "custom" speaker cabinets, but it wasn't easy, and it was just using two of their standard colors... I've heard they can do custom guitar colors and control layouts, if you're willing to give up the 10-day trial (but you still get your warranty).
In the builder you choose what you want and they build it to your specs though quite frankly, the online builder is only good for pricing out the guitar, you would be much better served calling them and talking with them because they'll answer all your questions, very good customer service. The specs on the CT7 on the video is: ebony fretboard, carvin abolne inlays, standard headstock, licensed floyd rose, black hardware, flamed maple top in deep burst (maybe sunset?) with natural wood binding
The dude is Neil Zaza...One of the most talented shredders out there... Shame on premierguitar they didnt give a credit or put his name on that video..
I'm so glad I got the NAMM out of my system back in the late eighties. I'd still like to see all the new gear, but there is no way I'd be able to handle all the homogenous shredding any longer. Give me an archtop and chord voicing any day of the week. Far more pleasing interesting and difficult than the endless sweeps and Johnson arp ripoffs. I'm going to the Gibson Memphis booth now thank you.
While the looks are similar, the Carvin CT has been around for 9 years now...with inarguably better construction, the ability to choose your options, and for less money. I picked up PRSs in stores for years, but never left the store with one. I took a chance on a Carvin (10-day free trial) and I never returned it...and have still not found another better guitar.
Depends on what you mean by "customized." They have an extensive menu of options (body woods, neck woods, fingerboard woods and radius, fretwires, inlays, headstock shapes, bridge styles, their own pickups, headstock logo materials, etc etc etc) but they are not a "true" custom shop. It's like...you could walk into a pizza shop and make your ideal pizza out of all of their various pizza ingredients. But if you walk in and ask for Mo Shu Pork, you'll be out of luck.
Carvin sell direct to the customer. That is probably why you never saw one in a shop. Their guitar a substantially less expensive because of this same reason.
i cant find the builder anywhere, all i found was the section that sells guitar parts seperately like necks but their not painted or anything, is that the builder, if not can you tell me where and how to find it? In the builder do you chose what you want and the color and then pay for it and have it sent to you and you build it or do they build it and ship it off to you?
Their active pickups are using old tech, Jackson used the same setup in the 80s with passives wired to a circuit board in the control cavity, really makes no difference as far as tone goes unless it has variable tone controls on it.
Carvin is fantastic for a couple reasons. The main reason is you Buy Direct from Carvin you dont pay a middle man mark up of 40%. 2nd everything is made right here in the USA Quality is 2nd to none!!!! Carvins are one of the best manufacturers if not the best!! Also I dont think Premier Guitar knew that was Neil Zaza even though he played "Im Alright" right in front of them.
does anyone know where i can find the ct7c that the guy had in the beginning? i looked on Guitar center and musiciansfriends but cant find it anywhere, not even on carvin's website.
Where are you finding that information? They sell direct, so they don't have an extra layor of mark-up. Carvin's woods are top-notch! Their standard woods are the equivilant to PRS's "10" tops, no kidding! Their koa a figured maple is second to none!
The heel starts at a really reasonable point under the fretboard, Carvin is better than Schecter with their set-necks--very similar to PRS, and I have a 2003 Diamond Series Avenger with a set-neck that people have told me feels better than some neck-thrus. Trust in the Carvin, you're not going to find a custom guitar for anywhere near their price range for the quality they produce.
Ok go to carvin guitars.com On the top bar, under the American flag there is a link that says "Guitar/basses" click on that. From there it shows you the different kinds of guitars they offer, click on the one that says "Solid body electric guitars". From there it'll show you 6 options go to the one that says "7, 8, 12 string guitars" From there, the CT7 will be one of the options.
I had Carvin build me a 24 fret carved top with a quilted maple top, in deep tiger's eye. Without boring anyone with my options list, all I'll say is it plays and sounds GREAT.......not to mention, it is absolutely STUNNING!!!!! With a tweed case and all the options, it was under 2k. My PRS friends can't believe it.
Nobody watched this video for the 7 and 8 strings. Everyone watched for the Jason Becker model.
its my dream guitar
And Rebecca 😉
To those who insulte the demo guy: It‘s a Guitar Made for Shred! I loved the demo
Young Guitar Hero made for shred? Ya know Jason did a lot more than just play fast right?
Nuke_Clan ofc I know! But the guitar was built, so that when he wanted to play his insanely fast runs, the guitar wouldn‘t be in the way. For ex: the guitar has a thinner neck then all other Kiesels. But what I love about the guitar is, that it has soooo much sound options, which was perfect for Jason Beckers Style. I want a JB Carvin soooo much! Don't need one, but want one like hell.....
I totally love this JB Modell!! One of my personal favourite instruments out there
I love my carvin, it's been my main guitar for 3 years. Their amps are amazing too

I'd heard the name, but I've never heard any of his stuff. Thanks for telling me his name, I'm gonna make sure and check him out.
Holy crap. I saw Neil do a guitar clinic a few times. He blew my freakin mind!
That 7 string is sick.
god i love carvin's finishes, That CT7 is amazing
Finaly some coverage of the Carvin boot..
Amazing guitars those Carvins...High end custom shop builder.
I own the Carvin Legacy 3 with a 2x12 cabinet and it rocks.

those guitars are just amazing value
green 8 string is gorgeous!
My buddy has one of the Jason Becker Carvin guitars.
Jason is a friend.
Really cool performance. Wished all others were as high quality
Thought I recognised the guy playing the Becker model, then the cameraman moved around to bring his nametag into view and he started playing "I'm Alright" and HOLY SHIT IT'S NEIL ZAZA
neiiiiiiiil...playing i'm alrigt...with jason becker's signature guitar...OMFG !!! awesome
I'm glade they have a guy demoing this guitar that actually knows how to play guitar
Sounds so much better when he switches the pickups into passive mode!
I love the 8 string guitar !!!
I've seen this video several times. This time I just tuned in to get a look at Rebecca. ;)
Carvin builds custom guitars. What he showed was one of the options. Those Carvin guitars look really sweet. Good prices too
awesome! they look like a well made instrument...love to try one....i have never seen one at a music store here in canada....thank you for that info...i will keep my eyes open, cheers! :)
He played Hurricane guitars actually, they went under and he went to Carvin when he started Cacophony with Marty Friedman.
Ha!. :) I did get them to make some "custom" speaker cabinets, but it wasn't easy, and it was just using two of their standard colors... I've heard they can do custom guitar colors and control layouts, if you're willing to give up the 10-day trial (but you still get your warranty).
yeah, Neil Zaza. He is a great player!
That Becker model is insane....
5:50 Whatever he's playing there just makes me happy. : )
neil zaza - im alright

Must have a Carvin soon !
Neil Zaza is a beast! I'm alright is a monster of a song.
I agree with you! They didn't mention him in the title of the video, or in the description... Such a shame too, he's an amazing player!
The dude is Neil Zaza...One of the most talented shredders out there...
Shame on premierguitar they didnt give a credit or put his name on that video..
Rebecca is awesome..
Amazing company
That's Jason Lea from nextlevelguitar, they have their own youtube channel.
It's always a pleasure watching Neil Zaza play! The man has good chops and feel!

i don't really care much for 8 strings but wow the dc800 looks beautiful
While the looks are similar, the Carvin CT has been around for 9 years now...with inarguably better construction, the ability to choose your options, and for less money. I really like the interview and the guy showing the guitar but she talks over him so much :D

He doesn't, but Carvin is a semi-custom shop. They build guitars to order.
neil zaza wow havent seen him in years
Carvin sell direct to the customer. That is probably why you never saw one in a shop. Their guitar a substantially less expensive because of this same reason.
HOLY SHIT!!!... JOHNNY BRAVO!!! .. 5:22
Never understood why Carvin exhibits at NAMM, a B2B tradeshow, since it's a direct to consumer company.
Neil ripped it up at the end.
Sorry to hear that instramark. I never bought any carvin but I recieve the catalog.
i cant find the builder anywhere, all i found was the section that sells guitar parts seperately like necks but their not painted or anything, is that the builder, if not can you tell me where and how to find it?
