What happened is AGE. Plus you just can't keep training hard forever without your body breaking down. It is good to have lay offs and long rest periods and then slowly work back up until you need another lay off. You are guaranteeing joint and tendon problems if you train non stop without lay offs.
Yeah, agree to a certain extent. Some guys had also bad luck or bad choices. Especially since most wrestlers, even when they age, still look kind of like they used to, just older, like Steamboat, Hogan, Simmons. Others don’t age at all like Lashley , R Truth or Flair (who looks old since in his 30s, then stopped aging)

I just want to say something that The common myths of building muscles and aging are just that myths, it is physically possible at any age to be jacked for both gender A Canadian study comparing active adults between the ages of 53 and 75 with sedentary adults of the same age found that the physically active group had muscle cells that functioned nearly as efficiently as those of 20-somethings Some people think that, once they reach a certain age, there is no point in exercising, as they believe that it will provide no benefit. This is another myth. In one study, researchers put 142 adults aged 60-80 through a 42-week weight-lifting regime. The scientists found that the course increased “dynamic muscle strength, muscle size, and functional capacity
Yeah, being actoive in your youth, as well as putting on some lean body mass pays big time dividends in the future in terms of health for sure. Same goes for the reduction in metabolic rate. While there is a reduction, its only a small amount. And while most of the research is observational one, it shows a trend for sure.
True, but he still looks in great shape. I am doung currently some deep dive into his workout routine and strength, might be posting something specific in the next few weeks.
Pretty cool video. One thing I'd like to point out is that it sort of does a disservice to Lex to have his name mentioned in the same sentence as the Dynamite Kid. Lex Luger was a narcissist for sure but not a cruel person by any means and even better is that now, currently he is just such a top notch guy. He's a real man with integrity and a conscience. The Dynamite Kid by all acounts including himself was a disgusting human being and even up until the end he was loathsome.
Yeah, I agree with you on that one. I tried to find some positive aspect in each story. Lex was, as you said, a narcissist with some drug problems later in his life, but he wasn’t a bad person (especially nowadays). As for Dynamite, I couldn’t find any redeeming qualities (apart from his in-ring work). But you’re right, I shouldn’t have mentioned them in the same sentence.
It's a mix I suppose. Some quit roids because of age. Lack of money. Accept no need to continue because they don't wrestle anymore. Doctor's warnings and with this one some do indeed listen to doctors warnings.
Guys like the rock and Shannon sharp use testosterone. I should know because I use it too, I am 58 years old. My body no longer produces testosterone so I have a pretty good looking physique for a 58-year-old. It's Doctor prescribed but my insurance always bitches about paying for it. It's $700 for a bottle that I rub on my shoulders. But sometimes to avoid all the crap from the insurance company I just pay for it myself with good RX it's only $40. Something to keep in mind if you're ever diagnosed with low testosterone🤷🏿
Yeah, for many the topic of test and PEDs is a touchy one. I think its not just black and white, especially working in the field for several years. And sounds like in your case it does wonders
Shannon Sharpe came out the dirt looking like that. It's a Georgia thing. He'll always look like he's in fighting shape. The Rock is a little different because he's Samoan and Black. He'll always have that muscle but it could easily be fat if he still eats 3000cal/day. And I think he copped to using steroids as a college athlete. I doubt he still needs that shit.
Amazing stuff. I just recently got on TRT and it's amazing for your health. Anything can be abused. But there is a normal range as to what's best for your overall health. If your not meeting the minimum requirements it should absolutely be addressed. I'm only 36 but both my free and total were under 50. I suspect they have been since my 20s. No negative side effects and so many positives. I am convinced with TRT I will not only live a much longer life but a much happier life. I'm all about "the roids" now and think that it should no be a taboo subject. Not that I really ever did, but especially knowing what I know now, I definitely have no issues with athletes taking test. It should just be under a doctor's supervision and in reasonable amounts. Anything that is over used in the body will have negative side effects even plain ol water
Also I get a prescription but I don't like having to wait til the last minute and then something gets messed up and the doctor doesn't call it in and goes on vacation, etc etc. so I purchased a spare bottle online. I know creams are more expensive but I paid less than $100 for 10 doses(intramuscular) shipped right to my front door step. Gets much cheaper than that when you buy more. The biggest cost was shipping
I love the thumbnail shows Batista 20 years apart, and it's like "What happened?!". Like aging and not being an active wrestler is that hard to comprehend why he isn't stacked and shredded any more. He's probably still in better shape than whomever made this video. He's certainly in far better shape than me and I'm pretty sure he's 10 years my senior.
He is indeed, as i mentioned in the video he is doing a fine job staying active, getting payed big times and still training MMA and lifting. Was not taking shots at him, Batista is awesome.
Ahmed Johnson really started to changed even towards the end of his WWE run, ho check him out at the 97 Royal Rumble he's in great shape but just one year later he looks like he looks bloated and can barely move as he looks awkward throwing punchs and nearly trips on Phineas Godwin doing just a kick to the ground.
Chris Jericho is 53 and has a concave chest from getting smacked so hard that his chest muscles pulled apart. I believe there is no fix for that surgically or medically. Kofi Kingston has the same issue. Chris Jericho keeps in pretty good shape for a guy that has been getting hit and kicked and punched and slammed for 33 years. I'm not even a big fan of his but taking a bad picture of him and mocking him isn't really fair.
Pretty good actually despite being not that young anymore myself. Worked as a fighter, now training pro wrestlers here in Tokyo. Training related stuff I usually post on instagram.
Had me worried for a moment.... @puropowerhaus But to clarify, video was not made out of ill intend, since most guys are still in pretty good shape as i mentioned in the video (Masters and Batista especially), or had bad luck/choices like Saturn and Luger. As for Jericho, of course he is in his 50s, but we still got plenty of guys in our company like Kojima who look amazing, and when you chose a profession where you perform in your underwear, you want to look the part. Hope that makes sense.
Not really, since most guys are still in pretty good shape. But in wrestling you also don’t want to be out of shape when entrusted with the others guys body and where you get payed to have a certain look
This might sound dumb but... I only knew Perry Saturn from SD2! from PS one and I thought he was black, I could swear that his character was black haha
@@howstrongis yes perfectly understandable. I've seen those two as well, truly sad, to say the least. Thank much for video. Batista the cool grandpa. 😂😂
All true, except the calories on PEDs dont change that much actually (even Protein requirements go down), think rather not being active and still eating like doing the sport was the issue. We got couple of wrestlers here in their 50s who are still in amazing shape.

Thumbnail got Brian as a girl dog 😂
You should have seen the second version with Jericho and Mr Crabs, might post it later here
saturn.....feel bad for that guy...got shot trying to save a woman from 2 attackers.
Talking about bad luck. On top of that he was talented as hell. Same goes for his Tag Partner Kronus.
It's a mix I suppose. Some quit roids because of age. Lack of money. Accept no need to continue because they don't wrestle anymore. Doctor's warnings and with this one some do indeed listen to doctors warnings.
Spot on. On the other hand there are also guys like Lashley or R Truth who don’t seem to age at all. Or Billy Gunn
Grandfather time
This guy sounds german as heck yet he is from japan
Both is true, German/Italian, living in Japan for 13 years
@@howstrongis Wow
Jericho always been on da chubby side
Fair point
I don't remember Jericho ever being ripped, but ok.
Like for one match once a year maybe
@@howstrongis maybe I just can't remember
Dynamite Kid was straight up Karma
100%
3:07 "body slamming Yokozuna with ease" 😂 there wasn't anything easy about that body slam brother.
In retrospect, with ease was maybe the wrong word
"HE'S FAT!" *lmao!*
Need to include at least one Steiner meme in every video
Where was Chris Jericho? I saw him in the thumbnail but not in the video.
Oh I see now. I missed it somehow. It's probably because I'm eating too.
Minute 3:40
You don't mean that getting older, less active, and discontinuing steroids, have an adverse effect on body mass? The hell you say!!!
Thats crazy talk i know :)
Lol
I love the thumbnail shows Batista 20 years apart, and it's like "What happened?!". Like aging and not being an active wrestler is that hard to comprehend why he isn't stacked and shredded any more. He's probably still in better shape than whomever made this video. He's certainly in far better shape than me and I'm pretty sure he's 10 years my senior.
He is indeed, as i mentioned in the video he is doing a fine job staying active, getting payed big times and still training MMA and lifting. Was not taking shots at him, Batista is awesome.
Chris Masters was/is a better worker after the mass loss. I used to watch Velocity for his matches all the time.
Fully agree, i realized the same thing. But even during his WWE days, i always had a soft spot for Masters and thought he is doing pretty well.
What about Adam Rose
Holy…I wasn’t even aware of that one. Great addition
Quick advice, cut the spaces between the words.
Cheers, will try my best. Still trying to find a balance, voiceover tends to be the hardest part so far.
@@howstrongis Try sounding like you enjoy/hate talking about whatever subject you're talking about, but not too much.
Thats actually quite helpful. Think i am still focusing on getting the words right. Work in progress i guess
That’s actually a good point, wonder what happened during that time…
That thumbnail...lol
My proudest accomplishment :)
The Rock is the only one that has gotten more jacked in his 50’s…reps & protein is all it takes….😅
He looks better now then ever, but things like genetics among "other things" might come in handy too.
True, agree on that one. Think Steiner has the same.
Let’s see what type of shape you’re in 🤔
Pretty good actually despite being not that young anymore myself. Worked as a fighter, now training pro wrestlers here in Tokyo. Training related stuff I usually post on instagram.
@@howstrongis it says your ig has been taken down 😂😂🤔
Had me worried for a moment....
@puropowerhaus
But to clarify, video was not made out of ill intend, since most guys are still in pretty good shape as i mentioned in the video (Masters and Batista especially), or had bad luck/choices like Saturn and Luger. As for Jericho, of course he is in his 50s, but we still got plenty of guys in our company like Kojima who look amazing, and when you chose a profession where you perform in your underwear, you want to look the part. Hope that makes sense.
@@howstrongis I thought the guy making this vid, was a Arab
Thats a first one :)
German/Italian
Hopefully we're not body shaming the same people who put their bodies on the line night after ninight to entertain us
Not really, since most guys are still in pretty good shape. But in wrestling you also don’t want to be out of shape when entrusted with the others guys body and where you get payed to have a certain look
This might sound dumb but... I only knew Perry Saturn from SD2! from PS one and I thought he was black, I could swear that his character was black haha
I can relate to that. Got my first wretsling memories from WWF Superstars on the Game Boy
Erm....time?
From all the guys Batista seemed to have everything figured out the best. Definitely one of the brighter stories in wrestling.
Oh, you guys and radical theories...
Too true.
Um, how do you explain Dwayne Johnson 😅
Age or stopped using steroids or injured
Or all 3 at once
I mean what do you think Ahmed Johnson was going to look like..
My image was Lashley. But for some reason, Lashley doesn't seem to have aged at all in the past 20 years...
When you don’t lift weights and take steroids anymore your body will eventually shrink over the years
Guess I can never stop :(
Why is steiners hands so big?
Right? That was my real question. Those are frying pans
Randy on them heavy roids
80s wrestling is back :)
Saturn is a badass hero .
The definition of underrated. Loved to watch him back then, same goes of his tag partner
That thumbnail is really funny dude 😂🤣😂 Batista looks like old man. He looks almost 30 - 40 yrs removed from his wrestling prime. lol
Yeah, I didn’t wanted to use Lex or Saturn since they had some tough times. As for Batista changed within 2 years completely
@@howstrongis yes perfectly understandable. I've seen those two as well, truly sad, to say the least. Thank much for video. Batista the cool grandpa. 😂😂
I can't take the world seriously as long as "Pro" wrestling exists....
That’s like saying, “I can’t take the world seriously as long as movies exist….”
Its the modern day Shakespeare
Y2j say he pust on weight for his heel runs cause it makes the. Better
Fair enough, I hope he makes the look complete and put on some singlet too :)
They aged, had injuries and stopped taking roids but continued to eat like they did when they were on it
All true, except the calories on PEDs dont change that much actually (even Protein requirements go down), think rather not being active and still eating like doing the sport was the issue. We got couple of wrestlers here in their 50s who are still in amazing shape.
