Another fantastic video, especially the gorgeous and funny dolphin keep looking at Amy and smiling, that was great, thank you guys. Safe passage & fair wind
I just want to say that any cruiser who paints her toenails is aces in my book. I should think that the passages between some of those atolls would be tricky with those currents, but you certainly seem in command. Very lovely video, love the sunsets in particular.
I like your simplicity of presentation. One of the many differences here is that you are sailing on budget, which btw gives a hope to so many people who wish to do the same e.g. a good example how everything is possible when you want. Keen to be more than 30 day in the middle of the ocean is definitely something that not many people can do even with a much larger yachts than yours. That gives extra hope. One thing before I finish is, you are looking like brother Duplicate) to Paul Shard from a Distant Shores yacht! Paul and Sheryl have done a circumnavigation as well. Good luck with your circle, and all the best! Regards Boba
Respect for getting in the water with the black tips. That must have been quite nerve wracking! Love your faithful dinghy too, think I'm going to build one - where did you get the mast/boom/sail? We're hoping to follow in your footsteps in 2019... Jonny & Ana.
i like you guys. Is the boat an O'day? If you have time, the atoll Aitutake in the Cooks is spectacular. Giant clams..unbelievable. They were putting in a long jet runway when I was there in '04. hope it is still pristine. Live the dream !!!
Hi Guys, you are truly inspiring. If it's not too personal, how old are you both, you seem so young and what experience have you got blue water sailing, what finally motivated you to do it and when did you buy Florence, I'm really interested in your back story. Safe sailing
Hi Adrian, in short: 36 and 32; Lots of UK dinghy racing and a little yacht racing experience before we set off in 2016, no blue water experience; Always wanted to do this but a being made redundant gave us the kick to do it now rather than as an early retirement; bought Florence xmas eve 2015 7 months before setting off. There are some written blogs from our early days on our blog site: sailwiththeflo.wordpress.com/
so did you guys ever encounter any other sharks along side the atlantic , tyrannhean, and Mediterranean sea across the world like a dogfish or great white?
Wonderful Underwater Footage. What camera do you use to take those? Have you guys ever ran aground. Looks like you came real close. Be safe and Fair Winds!
Hi Fredrick, We just use a gopro hero 3 white then use Movie Studio to do some colour correction depending on the depth we were filming at and adjust contrast. We have had this camera for many years and we're sure there are better cameras around now. We have not run aground yet, we are very careful to look after Florence! If its shallow we go slow and have one of us looking down from the bow. The rocks always look closer when the water is so clear.
Besides the GoPro what other camera do you use? I think it looked like a Nikon? Your camera work is excellent, along with your sailing abilities. Great work!
No point being scared when you see sharks in the water. Chances are you've been in the water with them plenty of times before and you couldn't see them. But they could see you.
I hate to be the moaner here coz I do enjoy the vids but pleeeeease can we have a bit more of the sailing and details of passage plans, weather, sail plan etc etc and maybe a little less of the jacque cousteau. Love you guys, stay safe, have fun
Nick Meteor most offshore sailing is pretty uneventful so sometimes we find it hard to feel inspired to shoot (and then edit) video of the everyday. Having spent a month at sea and filming the detail of our pacific crossing, we were keen to document the islands we visited. We will include the footage we have and will be ready to get back to filming details of passages next season.
Great sailing but if you wish a perspective on video editing....ditch the music. I want to 'be' there and experience the water sounds, not feel I'm in a movie. I have to mute often.
Had the privilege to visit Fakarava 5 years ago. The Society Islands are spectacular. Glad I can revisit thru your videos
Love the calico kitty Cat 🐈 @ 6:55 👏🥳

Those are some of the healthiest reefs I've ever seen! Great footage!
... excellent videos, prolly the most amazing footage of dolphins .... wow
as cool as the sharks are, dolphins showin' off is a treat.
cheers mick
Aww , Love the Kitty 🐱 at 6:55.
Some really clear underwater shots. Well done.

Is that David Gilmour playing when you are diving with sharks? Sounds like him. His solo album.

When the water around you looks like an EDM waveform, the pucker factor is increased by about 1000%

How about Bora Bora? How many feet do you draw with that Keel? Is it very difficult to pass between the reefs? Lots of fun. Thanks for the video.

Hang on, was that the power dingy motor in use? Sk in the UK
Fantastic as always, one thing I learnt in Australia, don’t go poking your fingers in to holes in the ground!
How much money you spent to get the boat and yourselves ready to this journey?
Is there a catalog of where pirates most likely are and are not?
Great episode , what is the music track you use ?
I just discovered these videos.. they make for great entertainment... safe voyage
Awesome
What’s that paddle thing at the back of the boat?
You might be looking at the wind vane auto helm. Here's a good video describing one.

1 mt Black tip reef sharks are good eating ,,
Rats love to eat coconut, I don't know if they burrow in sand , probably..... oh rats .p.s. great journey
Cows run when they see me. I run when I see sharks. Its that whole chain of life thing... Or maybe just self preservation, I don't know.
Statistically Cows are the most dangerous animal in the UK!
