Outstanding video…..sort of up there with Nat Geo stuff. Have you considered doing a video on the environmental research you participate in? Your perspective would be pretty unique. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
Thanks for sharing this enviable part of your life. I am now in my 70's and in the late 1970's early 80's I used opportunities to go to some sub Antarctic islands and Antarctica itself. It was a seriously life enrichment experience. I then built a boat over a number of years and went sailing in the 90's. I did contemplate the southern oceans but did not go there. I went to the tropics for reasons and it took me about two years to acclimatize to the heat and humidity. In the end I sailed over 50 000 sea miles and crossed the Atlantic ocean 4 times and experienced some of the northern hemispheres winters. I share the thought that progress has interfered with the exclusivity and remoteness one could experience in these sparsely populated areas and the interaction local with life on these remote places. Unfortunately this year I started to experience temperatures in the lower regions to become uncomfortable which is the exact opposite of earlier life, but that is the influence of time. May a good life and experiences accompany you on your travels. Whish you only the best in your current setting.

A few years ago I had to deliver a small aircraft from Mid-West USA to Afghanistan, my route included a leg from Thule, northern Greenland to Svalbard for a fuel stop.. looking out toward the north pole when about half-way, I was amazed to see nothing but open water for as far as I could see..around 180 miles.. no ice.. this was September. As a life-long sailor I had to wonder just how far that open water continued, how far I might have sailed toward the north pole :>)

Arctic sailing and skiing what more can you ask for... Simply breathtaking video, beautifully awesome shots. I can only imagine the empty vastness, the cold crisp air and the silence in the arctic but hope one day to experience this myself. Thanks

When I first started sailing a friend warned me that sailing was a lot like standing in a cold shower with large fan blowing on you while you ripped up hundred dollar bills. But what a glorious life! And good on ya for living that life.
Stunning and courageous. You prove that poem about the “The Road Not Taken” Robert Frost 1915. “And that has made all the difference” One of my fathers favorite poems, he’s passed now but instilled in me that pioneering spirit, that seems to run in your veins too.

Juho, amazing. Your best video by a country mile. So professional, could not stop watching. Had watched several of your videos but really wondered about the back story and how you got started. The voice over was brilliant and the wide sweeping shots skiing and climbing awesome.

Wow, this is an absolutely fantastic video! I loved every single moment of it and plan to watch again. The footage alone is stunning, but the editing, voice over, focus on your goals and interests in life is great story telling and drew me in from the very first moments. It’s like watching an adventure movie. The landscapes, the mountains and snow, and you all skiing are all ABSOLUTELY JAW DROPPING GORGEOUS!!! Oh and the glimpses of few friendly wildlife creatures was delightful!! I’ll be joining your patreon to contribute towards more of this. Good luck to you!
AWESOME. Your footage is one-of-a-kind. Imagine this video, and Juho's series, had it been available in the 1900s. I guess Jacques Cousteau would be a comparison. I love the combination of skiing and sailing. The wildlife footage was gripping. Of the glorious panoramas and animals just living, I wish the scenes had been continued much longer. Thank you Juho.
Your channel is the best on RUclips Tube..have been watching since the beginning..and love every episode. this one was so interesting seeing where it all started.. I love your ethos..and after writing this am off to the patreon site to sign up and help your explorations of the amazing Arctic regions of our planet . i live on a inland waterways boat in UK for 14 years and try to leave as small a footprint as possible ..I thought my small adventures were great ..but your adventures are just awesome ..❤

Great videos, I just found your channel this last week. I'm stuck at home recovering from a knee replacement, so watch your adventures has kept me entertained, while I can go riding my motorcycles and having my own adventures. Snow and the cold you have there are so foreign to me because I'm in Australia, and I've only experienced snow a hand full of times in my 61 years.
Not much compares to that Zen feeling you get when you are all by yourself in the back country cruising. One of the most peaceful and unique things you could experience imho. Props to you as you are going way out of bounds and skiing slopes maybe what .00001% of the skiing population will ever see. I envy you and am extremely grateful you shared this experience. What beautiful landscapes!
great and incredible job like usual ... but we need some Sohvi content in all the episodes .... her great smile lights up the vast northern latitudes ....

Another Finn here too. Me personally I just hate the winter.. and I could not think a worse place to be in than a boat during winter. But it is still interesting to see people do what they feel is right for them even when it is very different from the life that most of us choose. I like your camera work and story telling. You clearly are very skilled at making videos! Keep up the good work!
Your videos are always top notch, and I really like your calm beautiful cinematography. But this video was absolutely amazing. Especially the skiing parts in the beginning (for example next to the Shadow) were mind-blowing.
This is absolutely incredible. It showcases skill, resilience, passion, strength, instinct and much more. Very special attributes indeed and the landscape is also SUBLIME.

I like to trek in the mountains in the winter, something which not many people like to do. So, it's nice to see someone who likes to sail in the Arctic, in the winter. It's nice to have a totally different approach to cold weather. I agree with you, the cold weather/ terrain is not hostile.
Been watching you from the beginning, mad Australian woman that realised how long it took you to drink a bloody beer! Really enjoy your channel and you and your partner look very happy ❤❤❤

Skiing and sailing in one adventure. This is as close to heaven as I could possibly imagine. Thank you.
This documentary will easily get 1million + views. I will share your video. 👍🏻 Thanks for the video upload!
21:35 Just chilling and playing homm2 haha. Juho i love what you're doing. THIS is something YLE should fund and co-produce.
You truly have the spirit of an adventurer. I respect the strength you have to pursue your dreams and face all challenges. I wish you good luck trailing your path.
You are right about the little things that get you. Technology really helps in that department!
You did a marvelous job of bringing us along with you on your adventures! Thank you!❤
I have been following your travels for several years. I absolutely love this origin story; you should shop this around to some streaming platforms.
It’s amazing how drone photography has revolutionized high quality nature videos. The editing of this just shines.
Brilliant back story for us thanx. Glad to be supporting you and pleased to hear you made it through the NWP. Waiting for next V bring up. Andy & Angela, Malvern UK
Am looking forward to the footage from your Northwest Passage to Greenland!!
A backburner project that now has 2.4 million views and counting. Beautiful work.
STUNNING videography and story. Love this channel. Thank you for sharing your amazing experiences…
21:37 epic!
btw Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your fascinating life. The simple storytelling is perfect and very down-to-earth.
stay sharp!
The most astonishing film you’ve made, just beautiful!
This is absolutely incredible. It showcases skill, resilience, passion, strength, instinct and much more. Very special attributes indeed and the landscape is also SUBLIME.
your filming, your editing, just getting so good, love it - thanks for sharing your extra ordinary life with us
My Fiancé is from Finland 🇫🇮, I’m an American 🇺🇸 and this channel is awesome!!! My girl showed me this video and I’m loving it. Keep making great content, your ancestors were the best navigators!
Awesome new format & production quality. Clearly put some hours in. Well done!
Это видео заслуживает, чтобы его показывали в кинотеатрах.
Специально пишу на родном языке, успехов автору.
Great episode Juho! I was wondering where Sohvi was… but then your explanation that it’s historical footage made sense. A relief 😅
There is living life to the fullest and there there is sucking up life right down to the last molecule. I don't think there is anything left for the rest of us. Videography was just epic.
Thank you for an enjoyable watch. Really thought-provoking, and a real sense of living your best life.
PS I would love to try cloud berries!
Cloudberries are an acquired taste imo. They are tart and taste a bit fermented@@sandy-quimsrus
That was insanely good! You should enter in a world documentary competition! Bravo, Juho!
one thing i would like to comment on . is . i am so happy that you cut out the English and spoke Finnish . with subtitles . cheers from Sweden . ! waiting for more more more !
mate after watching the entirety of the video . your editing has gone to the next level !" awesome !
It's mostly few years old footage. That's why
Amazingly beautiful! Masterfully crafted video and audio, too! I am awed and inspired by people like you who venture from the proverbial "beaten path" into the wild (probably because I haven't done so myself and probably will never muster up the courage to do something similar). Kippis from Latvia!
Absolutely one of your best videos, and it filled in elements of your backstory. Thanks for this.
This is a beautiful thing you have made. It has the feel of a Cousteau expedition and it’s absolutely captivating. Congratulations! Very well done.
Very good Video. You make it feel like we are there..Thanks again..!!!
It's incredible what kind of beauty you can find in the most inhospitable places on the planet.
This was amazing! I have watched your videos over and over and this is a spectacular addition!
Definitely subbed I’m from the usa and it’s amazing to see how people from different countries live and do things like this i could never imagine doing something like this but yet it seems so beautiful and what an amazing life story to tell ❤️
