Thanks, this got me up and running quick.
You can separate the bodies in Prusa Slicer even with STL files also, or at least with the latest version of the software.

I'm glad you finally jumped on the 3MF bandwagon! 😉Prusa Slicer and Cura (and I'm sure other popular slicers) do let you separate multiple bodies from a single STL, but it's extra step you can avoid if you use 3MF. The fact that 3MF stores a bunch of other information about the model makes using it a no-brainer in my opinion.

Thanks Ed! I think it was actually you that showed me that 3mf files load already as separate bodies during a live class. Prior to that, I had been using the split option that some slicers offer. Yeah, there are definitely a lot more I can cover on the advantages of 3mf but I'll save those for a future video.

There's an option now in Fusion under the main file menu called "3D Print" It's becoming intuitive. "Switch to 3MF" was what I needed though, because I want to use fusion to help me colour objects. Thanks so much for the tip, I can't believe I hadn't noticed that. I remember even saying "There's no options when exporting stl" duh. Thanks again

1:28 That option doesn't exist for me. What am I doing wrong?

In Prusa slicer you could have simply split your STL into objects.

That's true, you can. But you can skip that step by simply exporting a a 3mf file.

I thought there was something new but same old, same old.

Completely useless explanation when using another tool to create the 3mf file. In fact, when I import a multi-body file, I only get a single body.
