Oh my. You have such a great way of presenting. And the use of Powerpoint, Inkscape and GIMP! is phenomenal. Exactly the way I think about 'use tooling you have access to' first to reduce the problems once the image is in the industry standard tool. I'm training to be a Design and Technology teacher in the UK. In my current placement I'm told 'the learners need to use industry standard tools' which would - in that mindset - render the use of Inkscape and GIMP redundant. TLDR: I think we should be promoting industry standard thinking which then plugs into use the tools that get the job done. And kids at school are struggling with 2D Design which is clunky. I LOVE THE WAY YOUR POOCH IS YOUR CUSTOMER FEEDBACK BAROMETER :)
Or the other way is to simply import image into Inkscape and do a trace bitmap. :) I would do directly with no need for all the hassle with Powerpoint and GIMP. Good tutorial anyway.
