As a(n attempting) writer myself, I feel Ash’s ‘I realized I hated the first thing and switched to another thing’ on a spiritual level lol. Happy NaNoWriMo!
There is no "attempting writer." Are you writing? If so, you're a writer. It's important to demystify your own hobbies. Accept your own skills and abilities
I would love to see Mat work his way through Slay the Princess. There's some horror, some meta, some unreliable narrator, and a story that keeps you guessing.
41:34 the door was part of the message there. there was no door in the game originally, but he added it and more stuff to make the game better, always thinking it needs more. but by doing more and more he also got more self doubts. but he knew he couldn't succeed making just the game he wanted And you even confirmed this by giving the bad grade because of the missing door, which on one side shows that he put more pressure on himself and more expectations on people who play it by adding stuff which could've been prevented by not adding anything
This at least to me is so wholesome :> ... And Stan the cardboard man whose a cardboard fan that snacks on flan love it I bet he doesn't care for the ocean and he has a friend Dan (I could keep going but I don't wanna make this longer than I already have) and anyway love this video and hope all creators editors and viewers stay healthy and safe ^^
The cardboard man reminds me of a little bit older game that I CANNOT remember, all I remember is that it was pretty funny and I think you play as an spy/agent in a world of robots who all talk like cardboard man.
guys ash's book is obviously about a society of baseball underdogs who fight their way to the big leagues with cheats and schemes until they realize being a team is enough and one of them has special powers to rewind time and completely break the fabric of time and space so they do that and make it so that they dont cheat and scheme but uh oh someone had to scheme again so the kick him out and get mega depressed fr fr no cap and one of them is a clown and fights a ghost to have a super mega special baseball bat that can hit any ball and they win the big leagues and they all die (or did they..??)
Cardboard Man: “I’m a Cardboard Man. With a Cardboard Plan.” MatPat: “collapses in laughter” Ash: “He’s a Cardboard Fan of you!” Matpat: “collapses in laughter once again”
For a game about resetting and pressing buttons, I am horrifically disappointed that there wasn’t a single restart that didn’t lead into a cold open of “This is a story about a man named Stanley.”
There’s a mini theory that you guys should react to by Stormister, “I found a reason for Afton to look so weird”. It’s actually interesting, and maybe possibly answers a few questions I didn’t even think about.
4:02 Speaking of Book / Game theory, A new game from 11 Bit Studios just released, it’s called ‘The Invincible’ a game based on Stanislaw Lem’s 1964 science fiction novel. You may want to give it a try. 😁
If you want the ultimate game of PONG, the National Video Game Museum in Frisco Texas has a giant Pong setup for people to play. It's an enormous screen with huge controller dials to turn.
Hey mat did you ever notice in the amazing digital circus caines eyes will either be longer, wider, or bigger than the other eye. The pupils are kind of noticeable to where one pupil is a different size then the other one.
17:00 so this is where Cardboard Stan met that cardboard man called Cardboard Dan, put together a cardboard plan and cooked cardboard flan in a cardboard pan, whilst getting an awesome cardboard tan!
I’m an author. I’ve had 20 short stories published in the last year, I have three ongoing web novels, an upcoming Kickstarter for the next two stories in my Futuristic Fairytale series (it’s called R-PNZL if anyone wants to follow the pre-launch!), I published my debut novella last month and I signed a publishing contract for a novel last week, and NaNo is STILL the most stressful thing on the planet 😂 I feel Ash’s “ughhh this isn’t what I want, I’m going to pivot” mood! SO relatable!
Thank you so much for showing me this game! I actually paused this video and went to play the game. totally worth the £1.60. got 100% in 75 minuets and enjoyed every one of them :) I think the narrator IS the button but hey that's just a theory... A commenters theory! Thanks for reading :p
He is a cardboard man with a cardboard plan. He lives in a cardboard van and eats from a cardboard can. You have a cardboard fan named Cardboard Dan. 📦🚹
i genuinely love this game and it's starting to settle into my brain. thnx Thomas for the game and thnx GTLive for playing it (making me aware of the game as well)
"Ok, yes. I've realised that reverse psychology doesn't quite make sense here considering I want you to leave." 12:01 y'all probably caught it during the editing(?), but just want it to put it out there.
Oh fascinating! I sympathize with Ash. I have been writing and learning to do art for a few years now with the ultimate purpose of creating comics and artwork people can enjoy. Yet I ve never been satisfied with the results. I have improved a lot but it always boils down to things just not being good enough. This Monday I decided to challenge myself. Started a new canvas, started drawing a basic character and then challenged myself to create a sci-fi comic. Rapid fire the designs while I write the universe in the background. Fleshing these out has given me plenty of ideas for the plot, with many elements in the air. Turned out to be a very fun exercise forcing myself to be as uncompromising as possible. What comes, comes.
I miss GT live was actually GT live. I remember waiting at the bus stop watching because it came on so early in the morning. No use crying over spilt milk. I still enjoyed the videos all the same.
I have a theory that the information you put in for the creator section, might appear in the intermission section? Like you would have had GTLive on the "computer screen" instead of something random, maybe? Guess I'll be buying it to become a one game content creator lol just to see what happens (and supporting cool game devs).
Speaking of going back to old video games, you should do DOOM (1993), because it was the turning point for both pc gaming and online gaming so obviously it was historically important to gaming as a whole
Cardboard Stan is a cardboard man with a cardboard plan who is Matpats number one cardboard fan. He likes to drive his cardboard van while drinking soda from a cardboard can. One day, he went to a cardboard clan to lift his cardboard ban and get a cardboard tan. Then he bought a cardboard pan from cardboard Japan.
heh, it's a bit sad that matt missed out on the entire cardboard man segment you get if you press every single button, and that he never turned around while going down the hallway behind the door finally opening to see how creepy it is (at least it was to me) that it *closes up behind you as you go but only whenever you aren't looking*, but at least he played the game at all 😊funny thing is, when I first recommended this game to my best friend, he apparently did what matt did after the first section, but not as a joke XD "never open this game again" and somehow he literally.... just, didn't? apparently he did some kinda sad "oh" and just left it at that until I poked him about it like two months later 😂
You have a cardboard fan, His name is cardboard dan, He eats beans out of a cardboard can, Watching your game theory about video game character San......s.
After watching this, this reminds me why I like watching MatPat. He gives random advices that helps in self growth. Like a friendly reminder. Thank you! I needed that today. PS: The game reminds me of "There is no game" hahaha XD
As a(n attempting) writer myself, I feel Ash’s ‘I realized I hated the first thing and switched to another thing’ on a spiritual level lol. Happy NaNoWriMo!
Same!
Happy NaNoWriMo!
Write better.
There is no "attempting writer." Are you writing? If so, you're a writer. It's important to demystify your own hobbies. Accept your own skills and abilities
I feel like it's just a thing for real for real
I would love to see Mat work his way through Slay the Princess. There's some horror, some meta, some unreliable narrator, and a story that keeps you guessing.
YESSSSS I love Slay The Princess I hope they play at least part of it
I would also love to see his reactions to it!
I really hope they play Slay The Princess! It would be great
E
Is the full game out already?
The cardboard man was really the star of the episode
Ya the episode wouldn't have been the same without him
Seriously? I thought The Button really stole the show.
Yeah the video wouldn't have been complete without him
Yeah the video wouldn't have been complete without him
I bet if you put your account in, it would of showed up on his cardputer
Ash: You have a cardboard fan! :D
MatPat: * *Collapses* *
pretty sure she said fan no?
@@StormingBlade. yea, typo, fixed it
@@robomix3162 Oh that makes sense
@@StormingBlade.Wait. What does he originally said?
I also collapsed that is comedy gold
MatPat and Ash doing an impromptu a capella version of the GTlive theme was magic 😄

Of COURSE the Patrick family would listen to Goosebumps audio books 😂

You know it!!
Not me actually getting emotional. Thanks MatPat, Ash, and of course thank you Thomas Mackinnon.

I was so not expecting this Gt Live to be so wholesome 😭
Video 22 of asking Mat to play “The Unfinished Swan”. It gives more story to one of the characters in “What Remains of Edith Finch”.
40:55 never seen a more relateable line
41:34 the door was part of the message there.
there was no door in the game originally, but he added it and more stuff to make the game better, always thinking it needs more.
but by doing more and more he also got more self doubts.
but he knew he couldn't succeed making just the game he wanted
And you even confirmed this by giving the bad grade because of the missing door,
which on one side shows that he put more pressure on himself
and more expectations on people who play it by adding stuff which could've been prevented by not adding anything
I love the music at the end, like the end of a movie. So glad that MatPat didn't play music over that for copyright reasons :)
This at least to me is so wholesome :> ... Matthew needs more sleep. I hope he has gone to bed in the last hour after he finished filming this video.
2:50 Ash had a pretty ok weekend.
I swear, I would watch you click all of the useless buttons in that room
Mat and Ash singing the theme song for GTLive was the best part of the video
The cardboard man reminds me of a little bit older game that I CANNOT remember, all I remember is that it was pretty funny and I think you play as an spy/agent in a world of robots who all talk like cardboard man.
I'm weriting a book too...I feel like I'm gonna be 40 something years by the time I get it done though.
Y’all should play Fears to Fathom episode 4. It released October 27th, which was overshadowed by the FNAF movie
