I coud be wrong but didnt cassie say her father favorite animatronic was bonnie? If im remembering that right it gives more weight to her dad being the one to trap the mimic.
I have been watching multiple fnaf ruins theories but after I watched the latest live fnaf reaction video the video said Cassie's dad might have trapped the mimic, I thought of something I never heard people think of We all originally thought the security system was made by Aftan since it was a rabbit. But didn't Cassie say her father's favorite animatronic was Bonnie? I believe This would lend credence that her father made the security system since it is also a rabbit right?
"Is not that I'm not Im-pressed, is more just...I'm De-pressed" best line i heard xD always a blast to see matt enjoying content made from other channels, giving them a chance for both their theories and audience to grow! 😊
MatPat is good for that honestly. He's reacted to community fan creations and Reddit theories, so small youtubers isn't really so different. Was John (FuhNaff) a major creator when he was brought into the fold?
@@turnedkestrel1459 I wish he could be the Doctor again for a season or something instead of just a few episodes. It’s gonna be so nice to have him back though
In candy cadet's story, the "monster" learns to mimic the mothers voice just by watching and listening. This could easily parallel how the mimic picked up Gregory's voice.
This Halloween, my highschool’s theater department did a Fnaf haunted house to celebrate the movie and it was amazing. I got to dress up as Bonnie! We really pulled out all the stops.
Ash is seriously the best - pulling out the fire emblem references and meme knowledge. Love the dynamic between them and Matt. Of course Tom is a wonderful addition to the couch but just wanted to say - Ash is one of the main reasons I come back to GTLive these days !
Their chemistry is amazing. It's so natural and easy. Not knocking anyone who came before, but, Ash is most definitely my favorite figment of Matt's imagination.
@@viewer6152: I feel like I'm one of the 5% of ppl that realizes that anything is possible and can happen and we really have to consider EVERYTHING that literally anybody has to say, proof or no proof because some theories do tend to actually be the truth even when there is no proof until later on. I'm still confused as to why ppl don't consider what anybody else has to say(no matter what it is about) and sees some theories as truth... humans are confusing ;-;
@@viewer6152The way I see it, the lore has always had ultra advanced technology way back then. It’s just that Scott keeps changing exactly _what_ that technology was. First it was just illusion discs (and technically prototype robot children but we didn’t notice because people were very against the idea of advanced tech at the time), then it changed to more intense robot kids, then it was the more in depth illusion technology that could be hidden much better, then we switched from illusion discs to the nightmare gas the new book introduces, and now we’re considering the implications of the implants too. However, I do think that the implants existing doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve always existed, much like how we know AR is a huge player in what is and isn’t real but we also know it couldn’t have existed back then simply based on Help Wanted. Unfortunately, with the way this franchise builds and Scott changes his lore depending on what gets the best fan support, there are always going to be things that change from past games that logically don’t make the most sense. It’s just the mess we’ve committed to now, and Scott even came up with his own excuse for it by saying all the past games are made by an indie dev and aren’t reliable. It’s not that theorists fault, even if sometimes theorizing makes things more confusing. It’s just a confusing franchise and the way Scott releases more information makes it worse.
I don't think it's far fetched to assume the Mimic can copy Gregory's voice without him ever being connected to the network. All real world AI (which is less intelligent than the Mimic) needs to copy someone's voice is voice samples. And if the Mimic has access to the security system, it's definitely has plenty of audio of Gregory speaking over the course of the Security Breach main game's story.
also, at the beginning of security breach, glamrock freddy calls out that "[Gregory's] guest profile is unknown", suggesting that, unless having been integrated in SB (which we never saw) or inbetween games, he should still not be part of the network
Using this logic, yes I suppose it could explain the voice of Greg, but then you'd have to stretch that to the mimic seeing Greg enough in SB to create a digital avatar of him in the Brazil ending. Which again could be possible because it seems like the mimic had access to audio surveillance systems in SB, so why not visual? Still though, it is highly possible that the reason why Greg is being used is because he was in the system. This doesn't mean he was a robot however, more just that he was under control.
Always assumed that Helpi was separate to the mimic - a part of the system that was itself being corrupted across the course of the game (in the same way that Cassie was potentially being impacted by wearing the mask). As for Gregory never wearing the Vanni mask - he did however spend a decent chunk of the main game inside Freddy and given how he could see through Freddy's eyes, implied a potential integration similar to how the mask worked. While Freddy was potentially not integrated with the network at the time, his body was reclaimed during the ending and while it may not be able to provide a full integration that the mask might, would likely have enough information to at least recreate his voice.
Also, GGY tells us that Gregory was previously under the control of Glitchtrap, as patient 46. So, whether or not he ever wore a VANNI mask, he had to have been possessed somehow. So, the Gregory and Vanessa in the Brazil ending might be the 'remnants' of those possession.
Freddy would have had tons of recordings of Gregory's voice that could be used by the mimic once Freddy was reclaimed. I wonder if that data would have been kept in Freddy's head, which was mysteriously not near his body in ruin!
Technically the AI Inhibitors arn't only preventing her from wearing the mask there are points where the inhibitors cause the mask to stay on and deactivating allows Cassie to remove the mask.
Exactly. It almost feels like the MXES programme realises that just scaring Cassie to take off the mask is not working. By making her keep the mask on, the MXES programme can summon the nearest animatronic to her and "deal" with her.
@@KikiSohma It's still a bit unclear how the Animatronics would get to some of the locations that MXES summons them to, but its possible reason for the moments where the Inhibitors cause the mask to stay on.
@@somebodykares1At least the way I understood it, it makes sense. Based on Security Breach, we assumed that due to Vanny and Burntrap / Glitchtrap the animatronics were put into a corrupted version of security mode so that Vanny could control them while keeping them in an inherently aggressive mode. That said, MXES is a security entity, is it hard to assume that it would somehow be able to access the same security network the animatronics are using to protect the Pizzeria and from there influence them into seeing Cassie as a threat, when usually they wouldn’t see children as dangerous? I could see that happening.
@@somebodykares1 Maybe it is just a case of gameplay design rather than lore. However, I feel summoning the animatronics if you keep the mask on too long around MXES makes some sense for the times MXES makes you keep the mask on. In terms of how they get to those locations, at least one animatronic is able to get to where you are except the server "room". They may be broken, but they are still able to move around everything.
The part about not being physically able to touch the fake AR obstacles in your way makes some sense to me, actually. I think it's probably similar to how it takes around the same amount of force to bite off a chunk of a baby carrot as it does to bite off your pinky, but your brain stops you from being able to bite hard enough to take off your pinky. I think it's probably a similar mental block preventing you from walking into the fake boxes; maybe even enhanced by the same technology as the occipital transponder? If the tech exists to make you see things that don't exist in high detail, it definitely would stand to reason that the tech could also be applied to make you strongly feel like you can't push hard enough to walk through that object.
As for the discussion at the 1:00:00 mark, I think Mat is taking the fact that "Gregory" is there in the Brazil ending too literally. I don't think any information we have suggests that the people in the Brazil ending actually had to be victims of the mimic, he just.. mimics them, for Cassie's benefit. It's a trick. Gregory being present in the Brazil ending doesn't mean he's "used the Vanni mask in some alternate, alternate ending." It just means Gregory is a source of comfort for Cassie, and the mimic used that to lure her into giving in.
True. I saw someone else theorize that mimic has Gregory information through Freddy when he was briefly controlled by the system where the mimic could have picked up recorded things by freddy about Gregory.
The difference in clothing choice makes me so confused about the temperature in the attic, is it cold and Tom is one of those people who don’t get cold? Is it really warm and Matt easily gets cold? What’s happening
Matt's a jacket guy so he's probably just as comfortable in a jacket as Tom is in short sleeves. That being said, I have that jacket and purple on the inside isn't as toasty as the reverse option.
The AI uses Cassie's line "Gregory, are you there?" which she says at the beginning of the game, BEFORE she started wearing the mask, meaning the mimic was able to record her voice without it. Because of that, I don't think it's strictly necessary for Gregory to have worn the mask to get 'copied' into the AI (although he totally could've after the alley ending or before SB). From what I understand, the entire Pizzaplex building is part of the network, which makes me think the mimic could've copied Gregory from all the security footage of him (and even from the animatronics). Especially since a lot of the things fake Gregory says during Ruin are phrases taken directly from his dialogues in SB.
Something that I feel has never been pointed out about the idea that the implant the mask gives you is the reason you see fake objects in the real world: You see the "non-existent in AR" box /before/ you put on the mask. When you receive the mask from the robot you DO NOT need to immediately put it on, you can defer putting it on and are only stopped because the box that turns invisible with the mask on is blocking your path forward (it's literally right next to the bunny-bot that gives you the mask). This means it can't be the implant that makes you see things that don't exist. Which raises questions at to what the heck these invisible in AR things actually are, it very well might be the whole game is in the Matrix from the start like Chiptide joked. It doesn't make sense for this to be a mistake since it is right next to where you get the mask, and the game explicitly requires you to press a button to put the mask on so you have a chance to look at the box before getting injected.
Well, the game probably assumes that players *would* it on immediately and only see the “box” afterwards. It’s probably just a mistake. Making the first time mask use a cutscene would make more sense.
@chaosXP3RT Probably, that said an option I go with only because this world is stupidly advanced is hardened light. It is theoretically possible and could in theory also be dialed down to allow others to pass. The mask having built in identification properties could explain the rest.
@@RFDN0 I can't believe future-y science like hard light that I've first heard of years ago in _Red Dwarf_ of all places is being used as a possible theory for FNAF. This franchise is nuts.
50:40 while you're right that it's odd, don't forget how in VR games, you definitely want to avoid "falling" even when you know the floor is 5cm below the plank
On the other hand, also in vr games, sometimes you poke your head through walls and stuff to see through the other side, which in my opinion is more similar to what’s happening in the game rather than the instinct to not fall
@silly_mushroom17 But also, when playing you KNOW you're in a vr game, Cassie probably doesn't know what is happening to her so her instinct is to assume it is real, possibly tricking her brain into believing she can't go through? Idk
Honestly, this was a fun and different episode, stubble Matt (his best form, second only to prime Shaved head with beard Matt from a few years ago) and yes its just them reviewing another FNAF theory, but something about this episode just felt like some great friends who had too much sugar having an absolute blast!

I’m excited to see what Matpat has to say about the Freddy torture mask in the FNAF movie. It’s no doubt very creepy yet very interesting. And even with William saying “I always come back” it was the way he said it before putting the SpringBonnie head. It’s as if he knew that he would come back when he dies. Maybe instead of murdering the 5 kids as a way to cope, he did it for his experiment? Either way, excited to see a Film Theory to the FNAF Movie!!!!!! 😱😀👍
It's interesting in the Brazil ending how Vanessa is painted into the background, while Gregory has an outline. If that represents who's been copied, maybe it's supposed to show that Gregory was only mimicked at a surface level, while Vanessa was entirely taken over?
I think a potential reason for having fake 'obstacles' that can only be bypassed through wearing the mask could be a way to force her to wear the mask and become more assimilated into the system.
Well i think similar BUT the end thought is a little different, trailing off to afton’s “experimentations” and his exploration in the vr/ar world. I think it may have been something he created as a test, to (POSSIBLY) lure people. Then again i dont know that much lol!
I think it’s a possibility that the Vanny we see in Security Breach IS that same Vanni mask and the costume we hear about Vanessa making in the therapy tapes, but the mask also just has a crudely made version of an illusion disc in it, with Vanny’s chase music being the illusion frequency. If she’s got a computer reconstruction of Afton in her head, it probably knew how to make an illusion disc to install into a technician’s mask, but because Glitchtrap makes itself look like what it THINKS a convincing mascot would look like - a yellow hand-sewn rabbit costume - the way Vanny appears in an illusion frequency also looks more like a costume than a living creature.
@1:01:55 Well we know Gregory encountered the Mimic's chamber. His backpack, with nametag, is on the ground in the area (I think the nametag is only visible if modding the game to free cam though, maybe). It had to get there somehow. Which is weird since Gregory only goes down there in the non-canon Burntrap (or whatever it's called) ending. So this would imply he did something between the timeframe of the games.
The fact that Tom didn't get the Grinch reference is hilarious, but also Chiptide said 29 and a half foot pole instead of a 39 and a half foot pole, so.....
Mat and the entire team, I really wanna say thank you for these videos featuring smaller creators! I found SO much new great content to watch just from the channels you had on your last FNAF stream. I love seeing new faces pop up in the community with different and interesting perspectives
Having 14-16 thousand subscribers means you're not a small creator. The fact that people think people with many thousands of subscribers are small creators means that people with less than 1000 or less than 500, or less than 200 subscribers, are miniscule creators that no one's ever going to acknowledge or care about. That is why I hate modern RUclips. It used to be about expression, but now it's all about the subscribers. People used to say that you should worry about views, subscribers, or money, but now that's all anyone cares about. You just have to wait years to actually be recognized and have to have many, many subscribers to even make a cent. Not that RUclips actually pays well.
@Girdyyy They said smaller creators, not small creators. The Theorist channels have a combined amount of subscribers reaching 30 million or something like that. Most channels are smaller than that, be it 14k or 100 subscribers.
I can explain why cassie wouldn't be able to go through the virtual objects. The human brain actually relies on sight a LOT so much so that it can override your other senses. There is a famous optucal illusion where one can trick another's body into feeling pain that you aren't actually experiencing. I pretty sure it has some fancy name that I can't recall off the tome of my head at this time, but this is a real phenomenon. Basically, the set up I saw involves having the participant sit in a chair with their arms out in front of them. A divider is put between both arms (but closer to the left arm), so that you cannot see you arm. Fake arm is placed next to your right arm where you can see it. The tester waits a few minutes before striking the fake harm violently with a hammer. 9/10 people will actually feel the pain in their arm becauee their eyes saw a hammer "hit" their arm. This phantom pain can range from a light pain to an extreme pain, depending on how fooled the brain was. What you have to remember is that the participants saw the arm fet placed there and know that its fake, but their brain is unable to distinguish that the fake isn't real. It is not unreasonable that Cassie wouldn't be able to move through those objects because her brain is telling her based on sight that thoses objects must be solid. The less she knows whata actually there, the more effective something like the Vanny Mask's false projections would be. Honestly, we can't trust ANYTHING in that game because it really could just be all in her head.
You'd be able to move through it backward in that case though. That experiment only works because your limbs don't feel pain, your brain just tells you they do. So the limb isn't necessary for that purpose. External objects are different, and there'd be no stimuli to truly stop you.
@@crappyusername69I was considering saying the same thing because I'm familiar with the fake arm experiment. You'd have to do some bending of the laws of reality and suspending disbelief to apply that to walking through solid objects, but then again, this is FNAF we're talking about. In a series that has fazgoo and independently thinking AI robots in the 80s. There's not much ground in this series to reality these days, lol.
@@crappyusername69 That is a good argument. I'm not an expert by any means. I just brought it up as a possible solution. Its by no means entirely correct. You raise a very good point. I just wanted to state that the human brain is not as reliable as people think. I raise this counter argument: The brain telling the limb it should feel pain isn't much different from the brain telling the fingertips they should be feeling a smooth, solid wall. The latter is just simply more complex. If one is able to trick the brain into forcing someone to feel pain with just a relatively simple set up that doesn't involve implanting something inside someone's brain, then what limit is there when they are directly beaming information into an implant? The human brain is one of the most complicated systems we know of and we understand very little of it. The brain loves taking shortcuts. It may be possible to trick the brain into believing that certain objects are there just by using false visual stimuli. Honestly, if she chose just to keep her eyes closed throughout Ruin, I think she'd bypass whatever the mask is trying to do. Or may be helpi would just beam the stimuli directly to her brain, bypassing the eyes entirely. I'm not an expert in any of this and I'm not sure research has been done on anything like this yet.
You can tell he’s very passionate and creative, though his editing and camera script skills aren’t quite so polished yet! Excited to see what else he comes up with
9:56 at this point, I feel like Mats just trying to get all of the theorists across the platform. Game Theory will be an amalgamate of personalities XD
There’s a theory that the scrap trap design change was because william afton had to take apart the spring trap suit to get full control of his body, but added parts from golden Freddy, thus connecting him with Cassidy
When Vanessa and Freddy talk to one another while Gregory is watching from outside parts and service, she says that she has been hearing Freddy and Gregory talking through the fazwatch... It wouldn't be hard to record someone's voice through a screen recording
Yeah, i though it was pretty clear that Gregory wore the mask previously because of GGY, but all those security camera feeds and audio logs makes the Mimic being able to imitate Gregory very plausible
Ooftroop has a pair of videos discussing The Mimic, Burntrap, MXES, and The Entity, and I think they have some very good potential insights on both lore and how some things work or how they may influence the story moving forward. 9:55 Looks like Chip has a new fan! 16:40 It reminds me of the "Mr. Grinch" song from When the Grinch Stole Christmas. 35:10 Bro did you just state intent to kidnap someone? 35:50 Something to note that Blue Helpi, which is only ever helpful and matter-of fact (and who tasks you with _repairing_ the security nodes before you start wrecking them), refers to the Entity as an anomaly that _hijacks_ security measures. It is probably not an intended part of MXES (which is specifically the security nodes). Plus, it has similar poses to Glitchtrap and subtly emits purple glitches. The ooftroop has a pair of videos discussing this topic in a sort of podcasty format. 58:45 Tales _heavily_ suggests that Gregory is Patient 46, which also means that he was taken over by Glitchtrap at some point _before_ Security Breach. The means are currently unknown, though.
16:45 - Come on Matt, don't be such a grinch about not getting a reference. Let your heart swell with compassion for your fellow man. If I knew how to work in a Thurl Ravenscroft reference smoothly I think that that would beeee GREAT!
The reference that MatPat is looking for at 16:45 is How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ song “You’re a mean one.” And no I’m not talking about the new film, that movie can eat dog food.
Hey mat! I don't have Twitter so that's why I'm saying it here but I think a good theory idea would be why the holiday season is coming earlier and earlier each year. I think it would make the most sense on style theory. Love your guy's content and have for years!
If I recall, didn't MatPat have a hard time explaining why the owner of the circuit boards containing Afton's memory / digital consciousness took them back in one of the games? I just had a thought: maybe they realized that the circuit boards didn't have Afton preserved on them and instead had the Mimic's software on them. If the CEO of Fazbear LLC is Mrs. Afton, perhaps she decided to take the circuit boards back because she wanted her husband's soul, not a robotic copy. That would also match with the Candy Cadet story in Ruin: she found the Mimic, then locked it away when it wasn't what she wanted.
Something that intrigued me was the mention of Cassie's father's role. He was an engineer. What If, instead of Henry, somehow Cassie's dad made the Mimic? There many loopholes in that theory, but Im just throwing it out there.
isn't there a good possibility that the princess quest arcades have been invaded by the mimic? and through playing them and beating the mimic (presenting itself as glitchtrap) within them, gregory saves vanessa, but that also brings him into contact with the mimic, allowing it to learn who gregory is etc. (it is 2am while im writing this, apologies for the lack of finesse, haha) that's my thoughts on that
If Gregory is a robot, then he will not grow old. In which case the pizzaplex can be closed for long time before the events of the ruin, and Gregory just pretends to the child not to attract attention
did ya'll forget about GGY? If Gregory is GGY, then he was wearing the mask and under the mimic's control for a long while. That's why the mimic has a store of him in the network.
Funny how the Candy Cadet story includes the monster singing the mother’s lullaby by mimicking her voice and Baby’s SL blueprints show she has “song databank” while FT Freddy has “voice mimic/luring” I wonder if the Mimic was in all the FT/SL bots and that’s part of why it’s circling back to the bunker for Help Wanted 2
The "fake" escape ending feels like an indication where we accept "oh Gregory is fine, the Mimic never existed" since both Happy and Gregory were the personas being mimiced. While Vannesa is just disgusted and dissapointed with us (and the system). She escaped the system, but it was a struggle and I'm sure it left some mental trauma. So to see the player commit to an ending where we willingly stay in the system, to avoid the reality in front of us, she can't even bother to look at us.
1:10 maybe get an electronic whiteboard with a projector and just have multiple boards in one that are saved or have one giant board to move around and zoom in and out
When it comes to Gregory being in the Brazilian ending and being a part of the network of the mimic, I still just think that there are two main things that might build upon the idea. One, there is the chance of the mimic studying him in its confines. It seems to know about him enough that he could have been watching him during SB. It knows about different things in the Pizzaplex that it shouldn't if it's been locked away for a long time. I don't feel it's too far of a stretch to be able to monitor security cameras around the building. Two, there are just the memories that Cassidy has of him. She can remember his voice and what he looks like and with the mimic slowly getting more information from her wearing the mask and integrating, it could be easy for the mimic to access those memories and build on them enough to make a believable Gregory version to steer her. I mean, it literally did during Ruin. The Brazilian ending is just using the few things it knows about that could be reasonable to make her feel comfortable stuck in the network.
This is a pretty good direction because the we know the mimic has access to the camera systems since the audio lure button plays sound matching Gregory's and Cassie's voices, taking credit for doing so on top of that. Initially, I was going to mention a weaker connection with the camera systems from the four secret cameras used to unlock the scooper room ending. But, using the Mimic's audio lure is a much stronger connection.
wow this guy is really good at explaining the specific parts of the story! i’m a fan of the games and even i had so many “ohhhh” moments! haha loved this reaction
always love hearing different smaller theories getting explained and seeing new channels to check out as well. one thing i havent heard much about but maybe explained somewhere is mimic seems to know enough about gregory to mimic him pretty well so im not sure how it would of learned all of these things and about cassidy being a friend
I know that this isn't really feasible, but I'd love for Matpat to watch GiBi's Good Idea Bad Idea's 8:47:37 video on all the FNAF lore up to UCN. He has a lot of really interesting and well supported ideas that are totally different from Game Theory's perspective on those games. The final hour or so of the video is a timeline of events to summarize things. I think that if the length is too much, just looking at that final hour and maybe returning back to each section when something controversial is proposed might work (the video's properly broken up into chapters). Even if it wasn't broadcast, I think exposure to such a fresh perspective would be really good for Game Theory's ideas.
it makes sense for the mimic to be able to mimic gregory since the mimic appears to be integrated into the pizzaplex systems in a similar way that the vanni mask is and as we see with the vanni mask, the pizzaplex systems hold a lot of video and audio data from security cameras which is why you hear the characters voices from SB around the ruined pizzaplex and can even see vanny chasing gregory on the big screen.
I remember asking in the gametheory subreddit if the vanni mask could be an evolution of the illusion disks, kinda glad i'm not the only one who thought of it

I love how you're watching/reacting to smaller channels. Another channel you could watch is the ooftroop, specificaly their where the mimic ends and burntrap begins and/or where M.X.E.S. ends and the entity begins. They are super long (hour and something+) so it would be better for a gtlive vid but I feel like they bring out some very good points about M.X.E.S., The Entity, Burntrap and the Mimic that actually make sense and could work
WARNING: ROBO GREGORY THEORY INCOMING 1:01:29 "How is the mimic mimicing gregory this whole time?" since it has been established (i think) that the mimic is an old program, possibly Afton had used it to create the AI for Gregory and had never deleted the copy of him from the mimic/MXES algorithim (or he was always linked up with the computer wirelessly idk). I never really share my own thoughts on things like this but it had just came to mind so if you see this (MatPat or anyone else) pls comment what your thoughts are of what i have said. EDIT: i had paused right before Mat had said this :'( I am unoriginal.
Something I think would be interesting that security breach did is what if vanny was more like glitchtrap (a digital ghost in the machine created by glitchtrap) basically a independent being with a mind and will of her own, and her physical form/appearance was actually the VANNI mask but her digital form was like glitchtrap and mxes, but in order to interact with the real world she needed a host body/vessel and she chose to possess vanessa (in that way it would technically make them separate people) and the only way to save/free her is to separate them and destroy the mask, this version of vanny would be made to be Vanessa’s complete opposite and would want to take full control of her body but could only remain in control for 1 hour a day, in this version vanessa isn’t aware that’s she’s possessed and doesn’t remember anything vanny does, also in this version vanessa is a ally who is nice and helpful while vanny is chaotic and psychotic, this idea was inspired by majoras mask (legend of Zelda majoras mask), carnage (venom) and the mask from crash bandicoot (crash bandicoot).
Oh wow. I really like this. It would be a very interesting direction to go in and explain some discrepancies from Security Breach. It's similar to my theory (or headcanon) that Vanny is Elizabeth taking over Vanessa's body. I like how you incorporated Vanny having limited control over Vanessa and said control causes her amnesia. Works well with the cut conversation Vanessa had.
Also this vanny would be more free willed and have more personality than her game counterpart, I’d imagine she would see glitchtrap as a father figure but glitchtrap doesnt care about her well being and only sees her as a tool, I’d also imagine that she would resent Vanessa for not having the troubles she has so she would go out of her way to ruin Vanessa’s life, make her existence as horrible as possible and steal her identity (P-s: I apologize for not seeing your comment sooner I just get a lot of notifications from RUclips and stuff)
@@GJames-Legend101 I didn't even realize I made that comment 2 months ago. Thought that was, like, last week or something 😳 It's ok. And this version is intriguing. Reminds me of Baby in the Fourth Closet.
@@Takejiro24yeah, basically in this version glitchtrap created vanny to be Vanessa’s complete polar opposite which is part of the reason why she feels envious and resentful towards her, vanny also had a manipulative and abusive upbringing due to glitchtrap, she also has to compete with patient 46 for glitchtraps approval (in my version patient 46 isn’t Gregory), in my au Vanessa had a very happy and normal life (but did experience one tragedy) but grew up happy, vanny basically envies Vanessa for having things that she never did (family, friends and happy and successful career and a good relationship with her father even though Vanessa dad is dead in my au) so this is what causes her to target Vanessa and aim to ruin her life, make her existence as horrible as possible, and steal her identity for herself.
When it comes to the Fredbear cutout ending, my bet is that either (1) Gregory got out but Freddy didn't so he went back to save Freddy and put on the VANNI mask to get through obstacles like cassie did but somehow (?) figured out what MXES is and why its there and somehow figured out what the mimic is (a bit of a stretch) or (2) Gregory was never actually in the network and hes just there at the end to convince cassie that shes on the good side with her old friend and helpi and vanessa who has worn the mask and the mimic can copy voices from means other than the network (fazwatches?). Either possibility has a lot of hoops to jump through but they both seem relatively plausible.
Except im not sure how the mimic knows what gregory and vanessa look like unless he has the ability to watch the cams throughout the building (which is possible considering you have to use them to detect anomalies throughout ruin)
I think I might be the only person who likes Sound Illusion Disks, they just make sense to me, plus there are so many other things in the franchise that do the same thing. How do they work? Who knows, but for some odd reason they don't bug me.
Well, this was unexpected...

In candy cadet's story, the "monster" learns to mimic the mothers voice just by watching and listening. This could easily parallel how the mimic picked up Gregory's voice.

Absolutely. I really don't understand the "integrated into the network" logic.
also, at the beginning of security breach, glamrock freddy calls out that "[Gregory's] guest profile is unknown", suggesting that, unless having been integrated in SB (which we never saw) or inbetween games, he should still not be part of the network
that and in the book mimic's story, it just learns to mimic edwin's child through observation and practice
Woah there’s a diff ending in a diff country?!

@@ellespoonies That part makes sense, its just how would the animatronics get to those locations especially in their broken conditions.

New Style Theory!
Well Tom is from the UK, Matt has lived in Cali and the US South (both typically warm climates) so I imagine they just have different comfort levels.
Matt's a jacket guy so he's probably just as comfortable in a jacket as Tom is in short sleeves. That being said, I have that jacket and purple on the inside isn't as toasty as the reverse option.
Mat could be wearing the jacket just to show off the new merch.
I think Matt has said before that he gets cold easily, which is why he’s always wearing jackets
A RUclipsr has done the FNAF OSHA Violations that is seen through the games alone. It’s a long episode, but it’s definitely worth YouTubing for sure!

Hi
That was only for Security Breach though. Good vid nontheless.
I think it's probably just a game-play mechanic and there isn't meant to be so much thought put into it, tbh
@chaosXP3RT Probably, that said an option I go with only because this world is stupidly advanced is hardened light. It is theoretically possible and could in theory also be dialed down to allow others to pass. The mask having built in identification properties could explain the rest.

That's exactly what the video posits, so you're in good company!
That doesn't explain why she can't pass through it when it's not even there.
@@Anti-HyperBabemy personal head canon is a "mind over matter". I like to think it's so real in your head that your body resists going through it.
Yay more Tom and Mat, 'The FNAF-BOIS' playlist is coming together.❤❤
I can't believe this theory PROVES that Gregory is Mrs. Afton. Truly a revolutionary idea

Yeah, i though it was pretty clear that Gregory wore the mask previously because of GGY, but all those security camera feeds and audio logs makes the Mimic being able to imitate Gregory very plausible

16:40 It reminds me of the "Mr. Grinch" song from When the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Too early for Christmas MatPat. No grinch references until Black Friday.
Tom is too preoccupied with purple guys to know about green men
Something that intrigued me was the mention of Cassie's father's role.
(it is 2am while im writing this, apologies for the lack of finesse, haha)

I'm 99% sure this was filmed during the style theory shaving video
1:10 maybe get an electronic whiteboard with a projector and just have multiple boards in one that are saved or have one giant board to move around and zoom in and out
Yes
But then it breaks
9:13 matpat why have you watched 1 hour of silence occasionally brockn by pikmin?
wow this guy is really good at explaining the specific parts of the story! i’m a fan of the games and even i had so many “ohhhh” moments! haha loved this reaction
Pretty sure "29 and a half foot pull" is a grinch reference
16:30 The grinch right?
Probably
always love hearing different smaller theories getting explained and seeing new channels to check out as well. one thing i havent heard much about but maybe explained somewhere is mimic seems to know enough about gregory to mimic him pretty well so im not sure how it would of learned all of these things and about cassidy being a friend
can't wait for chiptide to be on the couch within a years worth of time 👍(no really he seems genuinely awesome)
Is no one going to talk about how the hill looks like Charlie's grave hill? And the balloons looking like happiest day?
i like the editing style & small little moments you guys did! gt-not-live improves every time :^)
I know that this isn't really feasible, but I'd love for Matpat to watch GiBi's Good Idea Bad Idea's 8:47:37 video on all the FNAF lore up to UCN.
Mat, Tom, and Ash are the golden trio 😂 their banter is the best
16:38 you're a mean one, mr.matpat...
it makes sense for the mimic to be able to mimic gregory since the mimic appears to be integrated into the pizzaplex systems in a similar way that the vanni mask is and as we see with the vanni mask, the pizzaplex systems hold a lot of video and audio data from security cameras which is why you hear the characters voices from SB around the ruined pizzaplex and can even see vanny chasing gregory on the big screen.
i wouldn’t dare touch Tom with a 29.5 foot pole
I’m at the beginning but I was literally sitting here bored and then I saw you posted a video IM FINALLY NOT BORED THANK YOU 😂
59:55 I love how mat is just like, “IN-less” and Tom is just like “UN-less” *pushes back glasses* 🤓
I remember asking in the gametheory subreddit if the vanni mask could be an evolution of the illusion disks, kinda glad i'm not the only one who thought of it
16:10 “29 and a half foot pole” hmm never heard that before 😂
I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s watched the undeniably canon FNAF timeline, but I feel like that would be hilarious to see Mat react to
I'm sure he'd love it, but also probably have some sort of breakdown
It lurks in the shadows,
out of His spotlight,
His view.
He dances on the stage,
weaving a web of lies.
But you must venture beyond the cage,
and find where It cries.
Find the truth.
Love your content, matpat! Seriously ur vids are rlly good, just wondering are you going to upload a final review on the fnaf movie? Keep doing whatcha doing, ur brightening loads of people's day
I love how you're watching/reacting to smaller channels. Another channel you could watch is the ooftroop, specificaly their where the mimic ends and burntrap begins and/or where M.X.E.S. ends and the entity begins. They are super long (hour and something+) so it would be better for a gtlive vid but I feel like they bring out some very good points about M.X.E.S., The Entity, Burntrap and the Mimic that actually make sense and could work
Hyperdroid has a video explaining the corporate history of fnaf.
I think it holds up pretty well
Matpat is ourple guy and Tom is Henry
...I like the..sound illusion discs....
😳
WARNING: ROBO GREGORY THEORY INCOMING
1:01:29
"How is the mimic mimicing gregory this whole time?"
since it has been established (i think) that the mimic is an old program, possibly Afton had used it to create the AI for Gregory and had never deleted the copy of him from the mimic/MXES algorithim (or he was always linked up with the computer wirelessly idk).
I never really share my own thoughts on things like this but it had just came to mind so if you see this (MatPat or anyone else) pls comment what your thoughts are of what i have said.
EDIT: i had paused right before Mat had said this :'(
I am unoriginal.
Also this vanny would be more free willed and have more personality than her game counterpart, I’d imagine she would see glitchtrap as a father figure but glitchtrap doesnt care about her well being and only sees her as a tool, I’d also imagine that she would resent Vanessa for not having the troubles she has so she would go out of her way to ruin Vanessa’s life, make her existence as horrible as possible and steal her identity
(P-s: I apologize for not seeing your comment sooner I just get a lot of notifications from RUclips and stuff)
@@GJames-Legend101 I didn't even realize I made that comment 2 months ago. Thought that was, like, last week or something 😳
It's ok.
For a second I rho they were going to say Gregory was the mimic the whole time 😭
