I live in the UK, I went all the way to USA and visited this Six Flags park specifically to go on this ride. I queued and got about 2 rides from going on and they closed it for the rest of the day due to a "weather delay". So disappointed that I didn't have chance to ride! Going to go again summer 2014 hopefully! :D
Every time I go on this ride it never gets old.
whenever i go on this ride, I get excited to the point where I can barely stand still....I love it
I remember going on this ride last year. I think I blacked out at one point and I think I went mentally insane the fact that I even rode this. I had a great time though!
This is so much fun!!!! It's not even scary! I ride this every time I go there. I live by NJ so yeah :)
I went on the Kingda Ka and it was so fun! Worth the wait! going the 128 mph sorta hurts your head at the begining though!
Nothing would ever make me ride this. The anticipation after getting strapped in alone would kill me.

I see Kingda Ka as less of a roller coaster and more a thrill ride designed for bragging rights

It's not the amusement parks' fault that they are limited to only a few roller coaster manufacturers. The truth is it costs a lot of money to build one, and it costs a whole lot more to develop new designs that surpass the original models. I'm sure if quality roller coaster manufacturers were abound, the parks would have no problem procuring new designs every few years, but that is not the case and probably will never be, because products costing millions of dollars are not in high demand.
I love this ride
by classification it is a steel acceleration coaster. There will always be more than one different coaster in each classification. not copying cedar by any means.......

Top Thrill Dragster is shorter not taller. This coaster was designed to be slightly taller and faster than Top Thrill Dragster. It also has the 170 hill/speed bump that the Top Thrill Dragster does not. Having rode both of them, I prefer the Kingda Ka. It has more air/hang time at the top of the tower. Top Thrill goes from taking you up to taking you back down without much chance to take in the view.

You are absolutely correct about the formula ride though. It is around 150 mph and is almost a flat track. At those speeds, it has to be.

Kingda Ka is only taller than Top Thrill Dragster by 5 or 10 feet and maybe around 5 miles an hour faster.

I went on it yesterday best ride in the world , ps to the ppl that never been on it it's ok I was scared as well but from experience u don't feel a thing it's to fast to even scream or feel anything once you get on it you'll want to go on again it's great
@coasterkook16 ive talked to the station at top thrill dragster. they said with a light car they have gotten the car to shoot 128 but that was the fastest they ever got it. so pretty much on par...

It may be a little taller and a little faster but Top Thrill is still way better. Dragster doesn't have the harness.

So its 30ft taller and 7mph faster than top Thrill Dragster, yet I would still rather just go on the dragster.

@rager3105 Fastest tallest longest FLYING coaster. Kingda ka is not a flying coaster. They call tatsu a flying coaster because of the way the riders are positioned. They are parallel to the ground like they are "flying." Im not sure exactly, but tatsu is around 200 feet, and kingda ka is around 450 feet.

They need better technology before they can do that though. Just the way the cars are launched puts a lot of strain on the track, cars, cable, and pretty much everything else.

the goggles might not be a bad idea. when ever you ride kk front row, by the end of the launch section, you cant see very much because of the wind, so the goggles (although they probably arent neccesary) might make the ride more enjoyable.

if im 30 years old I will build a kinda ka coaster look alike coaster that will be 800 feet tall and it will also have a big loop and that's all you will see

why? ttd has no over the shoulder seatbelts like kingda ka and its more comfortable seats i think kingda ka is better in my opinion

Not actually you can say the people that built Top Thrill Drag wanted to prefect it. the same company and designer built both that's why they are so similar just the Kingda Ka is taller and faster. I'm sure there planning right now to over take the kingda ka

Ok lets get this straight .kingda ka is the tallest in the world at the moment but they're going to be building a 520ft coaster called the poleR coaster the exact location has not been revealed but it's either going to be built in florida or las vegas in 2016 I choose Florida .but let's cut to the chase kingda ka is also the fastest in the whole of america not the world just america cause formula rossa goes 145.9 mph FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont exactly agree with the term "copie" but he is on to something. sure kk is taller and faster and has a hill big whoop. ttd has many other things that make it a better ride. take themes for example-kk is an african sort of theme while ttd is a racing theme. ttd's theme is better! also with the harnesses ttd has a lap bar while kk has a shoulder harness. ttd lets u have more airtime and feel more free. so let him have his opinion just like we all have ours.
