- Video showing the construction of the worlds Tallest Rollercoaster, Kinga Ka
Video belongs to National Geographic channel
No copyright intended, just re uploaded for everyone to watch Наука
They showed the wrong Superman when they talked about magic mountain lol
🤣 they did
Yeah they showed the Great Adventure one I think because of the seats laying down
It was such a joy getting to ride this after waiting 17 long years. I remember always watching this documentary as a kid. I was so happy. I could have flown back home that moment and been satisfied.
We are yet to ride it!
"There's always someone out there who wants to go taller and faster" meanwhile Kingda Ka has been the tallest for over 17 years lol
And everytime they come close to building something taller it fails
Intamin new roller coaster ride is being built
"It's the closest thing on wheels to a real top fuel dragster" (shows indycar)
Not true
Imagine being an engineer knowing you worked on the tallest coaster in the world that millions of people went on
The engineering and hard work of coasters always amazed me
The life of a mason is far more respectable
WHAT?! This thing almost had 2 bunny hills? That would have been awesome, you would have actually gotten airtime on the first hill
6:28 timestamp of the bunny hills
@Player technically? Yes .. it’ll always be the Top Hat to me
@@ShawnLamont1997 it IS the top hat. No bunny bill is that high.
I get airtime on the first hill you definitely got stapled
🎶 It’s a long way to the top if you wanna Kingda Ka
I love this documentary.
Never rode TTD but the launch on this thing was insane. It has the best launch I've been on for a coaster.
Shame TTD is now an LSM launch
44:58 still really suprised it held the record for the tallest coaster for 17 years but it is no longer the fastest
Honestly same. Now, they have to build a coaster that's way taller than this one. Somehow, and I'm not sure.😂
@@gabriellaalletto938 I’m 4 weeks late since ive been busy but I personally don’t believe a taller coaster will be here soon since the manufacturer of king da ka-intamin stopped making these coasters with a hydraulic launch(the coaster model is not discontinued)since they were very unreliable so now they started using lsm’s a couple years back which are good but the technology isn’t that advanced to take a train to such insane speeds to breach the 500ft mark and the price of a 500ft coaster will be very expensive so it’s not likely and another thing to keep in mind is amusement parks are trying to save money and try and buy coasters that take up a small amount of land and that deliver a great amount of thrill for a relatively small price
@@Cefon2121 Formula Rosa at 149 mph could possibly surpass 500 feet but I see why they didn’t do it. They seem to have a lot of trouble just getting the trains on these coasters to clear the towers. I’d imagine an additional 50 feet would make it that much tougher
Absolutely INCREDIBLE documentary! It shows the engineering design process In full effect and it fills in every detail including the trial and error.
I LOVE KINGDA KA!!
We are yet to go out to ride it, however have ridden Stealth at Thorpe Park so look forward to getting on Kingda Ka!
Cedar Point needs to steal back that height rexord
you know it's gonna be good when he calls it a "rocket coaster" in the first minute
edit: took me a few minutes to realize he meant launch coaster lmao
also I like how he says "up until 10 years ago, *all coasters* operated on a simple propulsion formula"
the first few launched coasters were literally in the late 70's
unless he means some other type of launched coaster, probably a hydraulic launch, which he should really just specify
at least he knows what a strata coaster is
I would give it the benefit of the doubt and say it's his funny accent, but literally nobody I know has called it a "rocket coaster" or really anything other than a launched coaster, no matter where they're from
i think if i would've been into roller coasters as a kid as i am now...i would've been an engineer (for coasters)
31:35 why this guy got a B&M hard hat even though kingda ka is intimin
Because that contractor has probably built coasters for multiple manufacturers, B&M included
Weird fact, it actually takes LESS speed to propel a train that is loaded over the top hat. Its the lightweight, empty trains that take more speed to clear the tower. The way these coasters work is fascinating. Its too bad CP is making their version utterly pointless. These coasters are short. The powerful launch is pretty much the only thing they have going for them once youve ridden a couple times and the height isnt so daunting. Also... kingda ka has a trim brake on the freefall side of the tophat. This is most likely Intamins "fix" for the whole rollback thing on TTD. Ka actually launches trains faster than need be to make it over, so the brake keeps the return speeds constant. Hopefully Great Adventure doesnt look at this zamperla project, and ruin this coaster too.
Best attraction ever.
34:20 this is total bullshit. The empty train requires more power. The train with dummies or people needs a less powerful launch because the extra weight adds momentum.
It’s funny how the doc makes it seem like the more weight in the train the harder it has to work to launch, it’s actually the opposite a fully loaded train has far greater momentum than an empty and in turn launching a (empty) train actually requires more power to get over the hill because it has not near as much momentum
It doesnt need more speed with full trains but it needs more power form the launch than whit a empty train.
Why doesn't this have more views?
25 million, 5 to 7 million is the concrete
That's a big boy!!!!
AMAZING!
i find it funny that every time the train doesn't get over the tower, theres always one guy that goes
noooooooooooo
in a very annoying way. But i understand why
😂😂😂
Imagine how boring this would have been if an American was narrating it
):
):
not better
Ikr
Your MOM 😂😂
That's called a rollback.
43:26
At 34:29, this is wrong. When a train is heavier, the launch system requires less power because there is more momentum in the train.
Why don’t they just back up and show a picture of the entire build and crane during building. I just wanna see what crane they were using
3:09 can anyone spot the mistake here?
That's Ultimate Flight not Escape! XD
They say it’s the tallest and fastest on earth but Formula Rossa is the fastest
yeah but this was made in 2005, when this was the fastest roller coaster. Formula Rossa opened in 2010
Its still the tallest why it was made this way i dont think with the laws you can go any higher because you would need a bigger motor and everything and plus you would kill someone of high it would go you can only go sow high and sow fast before its not possidle to keep up matiance on these machines you can only run it sow fast before its breaks the tracks the wheels all of that
@@peterfus6162 False. You can build something to top Kingda Ka it's called Engineers & bucket loads of money.
Why not put lims at the top if It can't make it over the lims would push it over
Why did they put stupid over the shoulder restraints on this thing when TTD never did?
Two reasons:
1. The State of New Jersey has a law requiring over the shoulder restraints on rides over 400 feet.
2. In this era, Intamin was putting over the shoulder restraints on all of their rides, regardless of whether or not they had inversions.
@@collinparsons3363 Top Thrill Dragster was built just two years prior, though. And Formula Rossa, which is faster than this, just five years after Kingda Ka, did not have any over the shoulder restraints. What do you mean with the second reason saying they were putting them on all of their rides? It sounds like the clear answer to why Kingda Ka has them is simply because of the New Jersey law, which is an ignorant law considering this coaster does not need over the shoulder restraints and they’re there just to follow a law.
@@gbowersformula rossa doesn’t have a 450 plus foot vertical tower😂
Reshedule ITS RESCHEDULE SAY IT RIGHT
Appreciate the upload, but I feel like this video wasn't ripped but Jerry Seinfeld was using a handheld camera for this one lol
