Glad to see the mention of Houdini. It’s one of my favorite dark rides. I’ve operated it for a handful of seasons on and off now, and it’s such a cool experience watching the guests get off this thing. Also glad to see someone not saying JD is terrible.
Great Adventure is very much a thrill-centric and coaster-centric park, but this video does a great job showing some of their other offerings. It's possibly the most well rounded park in the Six Flags chain.
Yup you're right with the safari. I personally don't like going on roller coasters, but I live close enough to the park where I try to go to the safari once every week in the summer. It is a great experience.
You've been everywhere and your channel is amazing I have been following you since you had about a hundred and something subs I'm jealous of everywhere you went but your channel is amazing I love these type of videos the off-ride videos not so much.
I've been going to SFGA ever since I was a kid, going back to the early-80s. I haven't been recently, so I haven't experienced JD yet, but I absolutely LOVE both El Toro and Nitro, and have high regard for both KK and Bizarro (née Medusa). One amazing flatride that I've never seen since and haven't seen since it left SFGA: the old "Sidewheeler", which looked like the inner workings of a luxury watch and rode like a Scrambler inside another Scrambler. That ride had INSANE seating (could take 100 easily), which may have been its downfall as it always looked empty ... and placing it near the kiddie section did the ride no favors. Doubtful we'll ever see anything like that again, which is very sad.
Going back to this park this weekend. Hopefully I get over my fear of not roller coasters but rides in general. Any tips on what should be a good starting ride or a good ride to get me back in the groove if you know what I mean?
As one of the biggest amusement parks in the world, six flags great adventure is shocking how many rides it has. From the absolute insane collection of roller coasters to the well advertised themed rides lol. This park has a lot of elite coasters, the fact that they have a Intamin Strata and Prefab and B&M Hyper and RMC and B&M Flyer, those are all elite types of coasters. It's impossible to get board here and it makes NJ a destination to go.
I've been meaning to ask about the safari. Did they convert it back into Safari Off Road Adventure yet and if not, is there any word on when they will?
It's still a drive thru due to covid. I'm not sure if they'll switch back since they realized they can charge a separate fee for the safari and they can run that in hours when the park is closed.
Had to wait till next year to Ride the Devil but I’d have to agree with El Toro as number one. Hopefully all they do is track work during the repairs/refurb and don’t ad any trims. It’s also an amazing night ride.

I have avoided Green Lantern for years. Almost everyone says it’s painful, on both your head and legs. You’ve been right about so many things. Why not GL? So I finally rode it today. I actually enjoyed it. No idea why so many people dislike it.
El Toro looks insane going into that first drop kinda like lightning racer at hershey park inly difference is ine is a dual wooden coaster with is insane architecture.
I actually went on the green lantern ride recently as of a few weeks ago for my school senior trip. It was the first ride I went on. I wouldn’t say it was bad or anything like that and if anyone else is seeing this, I’d think twice before talking trash about a ride someone else might like just because you didn’t enjoy it. That’s not to say I liked it. It was terrifying. At the end when we got off I felt like throwing up. Thankfully the feeling subsided quickly and I recovered without incident. But glad u liked it.
I went to Great Adventure last summer, and I absolutely loved it! I got hit really bad by the rapids on Congo, and Kingda Ka is… well, Kingda Ka. I loved my trip and will definitely go back!
Mervin Leroy (GA's designer) wanted mature trees for this wonderful park. The safari & themed park were to open separately. It was decided to open the whole thing at the same time. This lead to it being bought by Six Flags in 1977. The park opened in '74. AstroWorld was leased in '75. GA DOES have a lot of bragging rights. As with its coasters has had a lot of UpS & dOwNs over the decades, but still going strong!
I always find the airtime hills on Nitro and Kingda Ka to be underrated. I always have gotten insanely sustained air on both. Also the back row on Ka is no where near as bad as people say, while still rough I didn't get any headbanging at all. Overall both are extremely underrated.
It seems like jersey devil gets a lot of hate, but I like how you put it at 2nd, I know el toro deserves the first placed, it has much more airtime than everyone says it does. It’s an amazing coaster and one of my favorites.. It’s not that forceful but it’s still a great ride. Thank you for posting more and keep uploading love you’re vids!
I can agree on that after getting so many rides on JDC the back is such a elite ride experience with you being whip on the drop is so good I have this ride #2 in the park right behind Toro
Just wanted to say about your El Toro ranking yes it deserves number one but after the rolling thunder hill that doesn’t mean it’s just bad there’s a lot of other really fun elements on coasters besides air time
Of the B&M Batman invert clones, which one do you like more, Batman the Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure or the original Batman the Ride at Six Flags Great America?
My top 5 5, Nitro. The more I ride it, the more I enjoy the ride. This ride is elevated when it gets dark. 4, Batman the Ride. I love B&M Inverts, and sheer intensity. 3, Jersey Devil. I really enjoyed this Raptor and much like Nitro, the ride experience is elevated after dark 2, Kingda Ka. I love intensity and that launch is just that. Night rides on this beast are epic. 1, El Toro. This ride lives up to its name, and is my number 7 overall.
i went on nitro and it was horrifying! in the first drop, it feels like youre abt to fall off bc nothing is holding u as much so its pretty scary. i closed my eyes the whole time and it felt like i was on this ride for eternity, it was never ending!
I’ve been on every coaster in this park since the time I was 6. Nothing in the park will ever truly terrify me like the slingshot or the sky screamer. Never tried either of them cause if I did GA might’ve needed an ambulance on stand by😂😂

Now the park as Kingda Ka which as the biggest drop on any coaster at 418' coming in 4th place in the park', followed by 3rd place: E; Toro which has the biggest Prime ride time (from the moment the train starts picking up speed the moment it disengages from the lift hill until it hits the end break run) of any B&M hyper coaster model (including the 4 with drops under 200' and the three with drops over 300'; yes, including Fury 325) and it also has nine car trains with the best ops (due to a long ride and high train capacity). It also has Jersey Devil which I'd waited to visit SFGA to ride (until El Toro went down) and finally El Toro: The best Six Flags roller coaster ever built (from what I've been told.) I'd've gone there instead of Canada Wonderland almost 4 months ago if El Toro hadn't gone down, but at least I managed to ride the top 3 B&Ms there when I'd never ridden any B&M hyper yet. But Six Flags Great Adventure is the place I want to visit next!

I think the single biggest factor in people becoming so soft and "needing" smooth coasters and therefor the rise in the B&Ms that are largely identical (especially the hyper and giga's) was Arrow going out. I'd die for S&S and intamin or S&S and Premeir rides to work on Arrow replica coasters.
@CanobieCoaster idk. Maybe I'm just old at 34. But coasters used to carry some elitism. They weren't "for everyone". The seating position of Jersey Devil was painful to me, especially since there was no line and I was able to keep riding. I did get several rides in the back, and I noticed the strong airtime, but the pain in my knees kept me from fully enjoying it. I have it # 7 in the park, behind 5 coasters and Zumanjaro. Kingda Ka is such a surreal experience. It's easily my # 2. Nitro is my 3rd favorite in the park, and 3rd favorite B&M hyper.
i completely agree w this, kingda ka is amazing & the only ride i like more is el toro, it’s my #4 at all the parks i’ve been to & el toro’s my #1 at every park
my top 5 are 5. jersey devil 4. zumanjaro 3. nitro 2. kingda ka 1. el toro i’m just wondering why you put jd over kk, i like both of the rides but the launch on kk is one of the best ever imo, especially the time i got a relaunch or whatever you call it - but i’ve never gotten the opportunity to ride jd in the very back so that may be why, i do agree with what you said about el toro though, pretty good air time & way smoother than i originally expected from a wooden coaster
If Great Adventure wanted to shock the world, they’d get rid of the Safari and the animals and build some world class jawns on the land. We gave up our memberships this year, and took a baller ass trip to Knoebel’s instead. GA is only 40 minutes away from us too, just didn’t dig the vibe anymore.
'The drop on the skycoaster is scarier than any element on a coaster at SFGADV'. *Kingda Ka's 400+ foot 270 degree twisting vertical drop enters the chat*
Uh Not true, It's acuity in the Trenton metro area about 22 Miles South East from the State's Capital comparing how long it'll take from New York City, it's only an hour away and no one can drive that far to work especially while living in an apartment downtown.
Ok so this is the thing, (also as top thrill dragster) when I walk next to them or by them if I’m talking all I hear is my ears popping and screams of terror and the launch system so honestly kinda ka and top thrill dragster may be great but there to loud
I really want to try the jersey devil but the reason I dont want to go on it because of the first drop. The reason I dont go on roller coasters is because of the drop. Idc about the loops or turns I just care about that first drop. When I went to Six flags with one of my friends on December 18, I promised her I would go on Nitro because she really wanted to go on it the last time I came with her but I was to scared to go on it because of the drop. I remember when I was crying and balling my eyes out on Nitro. But now its my favorite ride lmfao. I need to know how the jersey devil is like D:
The drops are usually the least intense part of the rides imo. Especially on Nitro...Nitro's first drop is tame but some of the airtime hills and Especially the helix is intense.
By the way, the "poop" video I referred to is nothing like what the name may suggest. It's a lot of sentence mixing to make you say some kid-friendly jokes.
Home park gang wya My top 4 at the park are as follows 1. El toro 2. Nitro 3. Jersey Devil 4. Kingda Ka Can’t judge Jersey devil since I’ve gotten one ride in the middle so it could change since I have a season pass for next and this year

@CanobieCoaster I am sure they receive good care within the context of what is possible at a safari park. But if you want a safari park in the US, imo you should check out our national parks. Did you know that if you go to Teddy Roosevelt's place of rest, you can ride a horse out to his ranch past where cell phones work? And there are wild horses, too. It's like the US version of a zebra or something and it's the actual intent of a safari because they're native to our continent. But if we must keep giraffes, I am glad their animals at least don't look sickly. I've seen a couple pieces of footage where that was questionable, but it was short footage.

Kingda Ka is such a surreal experience. It's easily my # 2. Nitro is my 3rd favorite in the park, and 3rd favorite B&M hyper.
Being able to lap Jersey Devil is when that seating position gets to you. Same with the other raptors.
i completely agree w this, kingda ka is amazing & the only ride i like more is el toro, it’s my #4 at all the parks i’ve been to & el toro’s my #1 at every park
1:48 Is this a dark ride?
It's a madhouse/haunted swing.
I like the log flume but I hate Congo rapids because I got soaked
That's fair.
My new idea open this or water park in Jacksonville FL
Open what?
Great list!
Thanks!
Nitro will always be a favorite
It's very fun.
Not many people use my videos or even ask I think you are the first one thank you it makes me feel happy
Thanks for allowing me to use them!
Hi, did you here about the recent El Toro accident? I hope (but I think it's likely) it doesn't shut down permantly.
I did. Hopefully it can safely reopen.
my top 5 are
5. jersey devil
4. zumanjaro
3. nitro
2. kingda ka
1. el toro
i’m just wondering why you put jd over kk, i like both of the rides but the launch on kk is one of the best ever imo, especially the time i got a relaunch or whatever you call it - but i’ve never gotten the opportunity to ride jd in the very back so that may be why, i do agree with what you said about el toro though, pretty good air time & way smoother than i originally expected from a wooden coaster
I like the length and airtime of Jersey Devil.
Wonder women is my favorite and I also like all the roller coasters
Wonder Woman is a fun one.
@@CanobieCoaster I agree. My friends and I went on it, and we were screening so loud when it went up high.
I rank this ride at number 1
Groin pain is if the bike seat is high, or if the bike seat is low?
High
If Great Adventure wanted to shock the world, they’d get rid of the Safari and the animals and build some world class jawns on the land. We gave up our memberships this year, and took a baller ass trip to Knoebel’s instead. GA is only 40 minutes away from us too, just didn’t dig the vibe anymore.
The safari isn't going anywhere. The park has plenty of spots they could use in the main park.
The park services both Philadelphia metro region and NYC
Yes
'The drop on the skycoaster is scarier than any element on a coaster at SFGADV'. *Kingda Ka's 400+ foot 270 degree twisting vertical drop enters the chat*
For me, the skycoaster drop is scarier than either that or Zumanjaro.
Toro's first drop: Am I a joke to you?
I wanna go here so badly, but i live in Europe unfortunately
Maybe one day.
@@CanobieCoaster yes hopefully
Dang, 4 of your top 5 were either closed or nonexistent when I went to the park in 2019.
You need to give them another try.
@@CanobieCoaster absolutely.
@@CanobieCoaster I did and now Great Adventure is one of my favorite parks. Kingda Ka is the best ride there.
Uh Not true, It's acuity in the Trenton metro area about 22 Miles South East from the State's Capital
comparing how long it'll take from New York City, it's only an hour away and no one can drive that far to work especially while living in an apartment downtown.
Ah ok, thanks for clarifying.
@@CanobieCoaster your welcome
el toro was closed all day and it opened when i left
That's unfortunate.
My dad went to the safari when he was younger. He said the car in front of him was getting attacked by the monkeys
I've heard stories similar.
An elephant stuck its trunk into our SUV once.
I always feel bad for the animals when I go to zoos and stuff so I’ll probably avoid this one anyways
Ok so this is the thing, (also as top thrill dragster) when I walk next to them or by them if I’m talking all I hear is my ears popping and screams of terror and the launch system so honestly kinda ka and top thrill dragster may be great but there to loud
I love the sound this ride makes.
when i was like 7 i went on skull mountain and hit my head and now i’m scared to go on it again😭
Ouch! I've never had that happen.
When I went on kingda ka, it prepared me when the launch was gonna be
You can tell by the brakes going down.
@@CanobieCoaster yes exactly
I really want to try the jersey devil but the reason I dont want to go on it because of the first drop. The reason I dont go on roller coasters is because of the drop. Idc about the loops or turns I just care about that first drop. When I went to Six flags with one of my friends on December 18, I promised her I would go on Nitro because she really wanted to go on it the last time I came with her but I was to scared to go on it because of the drop. I remember when I was crying and balling my eyes out on Nitro. But now its my favorite ride lmfao. I need to know how the jersey devil is like D:
Definitely try Jersey Devil towards the front since the drop is a lot mellower up there.
Ah ok!
Home park gang wya
My top 4 at the park are as follows
1. El toro
2. Nitro
3. Jersey Devil
4. Kingda Ka
Can’t judge Jersey devil since I’ve gotten one ride in the middle so it could change since I have a season pass for next and this year
Jersey Devil is way better in back.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah I gotta ride it again definitely
Rn I’m in Orlando gonna pick up some credits at universal and seaworld maybe funspot and bgt too :)
I KNOW YOU DID NOT PUT WONDER WOMAN AT 13 ITS TOP 5
I prefer several coasters to it.
Dare devil dive looks so scary
It's fun.
aint no way blud done put justice league above superman that shit is dead last 💀
Personal preference.
rest in peace kingda ka
RIP
@@CanobieCoaster it got shut down
Twister will most likely not be going anywhere for a while
With all the parts it received from the chain's closed ones, makes sense.
I think green lantern belongs above bizarro. It is more intense and my 2021 rides on bizarro had a bad rattle in the first half.
I agree Green Lantern is more intense, but Bizarro is more enjoyable (slightly).
Green Lantern headbangs much more than Medusa.
How is kingdaka #4 that is #1 for me
I prefer some of their longer coasters.
Yay, my home park! This park for some reason receives some flak, probably b cuz it aint the most appealing looking. To me though, I dont mind it, great ride lineup, and that's all I care about.
It's a very good park.
I don’t really like roller coasters , but it’s a field trip for school so why not .
Enjoy!
@@CanobieCoaster lmfao It was okay , I haven’t been on a roller coaster in 7 years and my friends made me go on El Toro for the first ride of the day almost passed out Jesus Christ intense for me lol
Wait, that slingshot thiing costs a separate fee? Dude, if I already paid to get in to use the rides, why is there a separate charge? I mean, I can understand separate charges for food, gifts, and carnival games, but for one of the rides? No way.
It's such low capacity, they make it an upcharge.
@@CanobieCoaster *shrug* Their company, their rules.
Imagine reriding again, so what do you think about:
Batman the Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure
Batman the Ride at Six Flags St Louis
Batman the Ride at Six Flags Over Georgia
GhostRider at Knott's Berry Farm
Raven at Holiday World
Roller Coaster at Lagoon
Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia
Steel Force at Dorney Park
Salama at Linnanmäki
I'd go on all those again.
I know im responding 2 years later, but now skull mountain isnt completely dark
It can vary by day and season.
I wWould pick number six
A fun one!
At Six Flags Great Adventure, what do you think about Superman Ultimate Flight, Green Lantern, Nitro and El Toro?
Like all those.
SkyScreamer is so freaking good at night
I like it best at sunset.
cool! i like to ride it when its pitch black so all the light projects from the other rides. It really has a good view
Cyborg Cyber Spin is actually being torn down
Did the park announce it's done?
The joker is so intense
It can with a lot of flips.
Imagine reriding the B&M stand up coaster at the park, if the bike seat is high...
If the bike seat is low...
If the seat is low, I enjoy Green Lantern. It can be painful if it's high.
I want to go on kingda ka cuz it is fast
Sure is.
Those animals look incredibly sick! The people you know who go just to see dying animals from other continents are weird
They appear to get good care from what I have seen.
Six flags is literally crazy town
Lots of great rides.
