I was considering getting this line but after seeing lack of promoted painting and the issues with joints I’m immensely reconsidering. That’s why I waited for jobby’s review.
They are really cool fun super expressive little figures, and I've transformed and posed them a lot with nothing breaking or even looking stressed at all. I actually really like the chunky yellow lightning one too, but I gotta agree the amount of parts-forming and things left to the side for combined mode really hurts the set.
The way Blue and Pink come together to make a stealth bomber type aircraft sorta reminds me of Jetfire and Jetstorm from Transformers Animated, except I can actually like THOSE two without feeling intense amounts of guilt...
@MIRAGE MAZINGER SAGA I don’t see how there’s a difference, I’m more inclined to believe Ultra Raker since the Dinobots have a similar introduction to the Geisters with the skin ripping off to reveal the robotic insides
I don't feel guilt over my interest in MH because I don't believe in a slippery slope fallacy argument that implies that ethics should be applied to thoughts instead of actions.
Jacob clambered towards the window to see what caused the noise. A shrill sound, a scream almost, rang its way through the treeline. Bent out of shape, oblong and unreal proportions made the creature. Jacobs eyes filled with tears of fear. The anxiety swelled even more when he blinked and saw that the creature was gone. Jacob felt the slightest movement behind him. The slightest raise of the hair on his neck, then suddenly, it spoke. "Swivel at the neck..." The creature promptly and unapologetically twisted Jacobs head around, slowly, sadistically until his head tore off. It didn't take long for it to consume Jacobs body after. It stood, blood and bits dropped from its mouth to the floor. It very humanly opened the window and turned its head to look at the scene just one more time. Again it spoke "see you in part 2"
Children turning into vehicles falls firmly into the camp of “concerning things I didn’t think existed,” but here we are. Great way to start the day, thanks Jobby…

i feel like they compromised the transformations with parts-forming in order to get the robot modes as clean as possible. i understand that that would be something people want, but it really just sours the experience as a whole. i also feel transforming figures should be more "function over form" to insure stability and so you don't end up with a bunch of leftover parts you don't know what to do with although the dragon is a "glorified accessory pack" i do appreciate the effort of giving it it's own mode just so i don't have need to find a place to put all of those like the other accessories
I think the thing to remember going into this set is that they arent traditional transformers. Theyre akin to figma sets which are way more delicate and dont adhere to typical transformer rules in terms of storage, playability, or parts forming. Theyre meant to just stand there achieving a look.
@@UmbralMachine that's true, but "nicee" struck a good balance of having a few alternative parts as well as optional parts-forming to clean up the figure, but was still fully transformable without removing any parts. i was hoping that these figures were going to be of that quality, but, as you'll see when things get to the combination, you basically just tear the yellow one apart for it's torso and again, nothing really tabs in like it should
@@LucasTigy2 indeed Nicee was certainly a top notch transformer. And it was more transformer in the traditional sense. Also i didn't subscribe to the dino upgrade to "fix" the combination for Henshin Girls. I got them looking pretty good in their intended combination. Just gotta put Scarletts legs over Lights shoulders (oh my) to make some kick ass shoulder guards. Add the effects parts and it looks as good as the art. No bisecting of Thunder Light needed.
If these figures were not so freaking expensive I may have actually considered them sense it IS an interesting combination of elements. Magical Girl + Transforming Robots. Tone down some of the more…explicit elements just a tad bit and I could totally see these characters working in a cute anime or manga.

As scuffed as Thunder is, she's my favorite. if you >reaaallly< wanted to get her an "ankle tilt", you can disconnect the white part from the tire and it helps her a bit sometime. She still falls over ridiculously easy. I had to buy these as soon as I could. The accessories were added to sort of fill in a bit more of that price point but They're still really expensive lol. I love their megaman zero esque style.

I was always under the assumption that these characters where art first then figures later. I remember seeing the artwork for them LOOOOONG before they were grey prototypes.

Except for Thunder Light, I kinda love them. TL is too thicc to have a good transformation and very limited in posing. They’re super cute. Scarlet Sonic is my favorite. The twins combining for the vehicle is cool, reminds me of Animated Jetfire and Jetstorm. I could actually see these girls in an anime. A magical girl robot anime would be new to me. But I wish they weren’t mega h0rny when designing them. I prefer cute > hot.
Agreed. Apparently the company is trying to make an anime, there’s even an animated transformation sequence for Scarlett available. But I agree I prefer the cute aesthetic. Out of the 4, Scarlett has the best design, I just wish her figure wasn’t 1.) 75$ no matter where you go, and 2.) Sold out everywhere. I like the other designs as well, just wish they’d tone down some of the explicit bits.

Man I remember when choryujin was the most overpowered unit in super robot wars because any upgrades you give him are not only shared between hyoryu and enryu but also gekiryujin making it so you have 4 overpowered characters that can do combination and decombination shenanigans that essentially give them an extra turn if you do it right. I don't know when they took those shenanigans out but I know it was in W.Symmetrical docking is rad.
the concept of robot magical girls who transform into vehicles and can combine into a megazord sounds like it'd be awesome... if looking at them didn't make me feel like chris hansen will be knocking on my door at any moment
I thought these designs were cute, but the costs and the... excessive details that were meant to turn people on are a big turn off for me. And after hearing about all of the joint and QC issues I am even more glad I passed on these.
