You can see where he has had some issues with the parts opening and being moved around. I know some parts for the transformation were going to be hard but bloody hell I wanted to scream at the toy watching this 🤣
yeah, that's some tight clearances of parts needing to snap togeather, this thing will not survive long term play... even if the end points on both sides do look amazing...
I'll be honest with you guys, as someone who owns this figure, Jobby plays it up just a bit, there's only really 1 part that's rough, and you guessed it. The arm swivel gimmick. And in all truth, it's really not that bad once you see what you have to do. Mainly, don't fold the arms over until after you've done the swivel. Clearance is definitely an issue, don't get me wrong, but a lot of it is for comedic intent lol.
as painful as it is to transform. gotta give them props to actually using the vehicle mode cockpit as the actual chest piece without fake chest piece with the result of a robot mode like that.
While I'm not entirely sold on the decision either, the official one clearly just uses a fake cockpit for a slightly more accurate look. The real one is right there anyway, they could've used it had they wanted to.
The thing is... The transparent cockpit window has always BOTHERED ME cuz it always looks more shiny Matte in the cartoon anyways and I arguably PREFER the look of that more anyways tbh. so I actually PREFER MP-52 more as a result
Idk, seems like there are way easier ways to do that and this just isn’t worth the hassle. Newage does the same thing with much simpler transformation. Hell - DR wu just released a starscream the size of your thumb that doesn’t use a faux cockpit.
Well, the chestpiece isn't exactly *all* the actual vehicle cockpit, as the very top of the chestpiece and the part under the waist swivel is faux, as seen in the vehicle mode. It leaves the vehicle mode looking messy and almost unfinished as a result. So really, its the worst of all worlds since its part faux, part real, all pain.

@@alexandersilva3327 yeah he kind of muscled his was through some of it, I've done this transformation a few times myself and never had as much trouble as some others have had.
I'm gonna be honest, I prefer the MP-52 over this one, not just because the jetmode is better or that you get some more accessories, but the slightly chunkier wings gives it a bit more oomph. I like that the insides of the wings have some additional details, and the exposable radar dish. Here, The tail fins fold up rather than being solid, so they're still gonna look flimsy, and... Well, I don't see the point of a transformer that isn't fun to transform. Especially not when it actively ruins itself by scratching up the paint every time you do it, on top of all the other frustration. Call it blasphemy, but a waist swivel isn't really worth the other compromises to me.
This figure has what I like to call MPM Ironhide Syndrome: the legs have very simple, effective and clever engineering but literally every step from the waist upward is hell incarnate.
Seems to be a trend with these lovely 3rd Party figures. Either their transformations are so amazing any faults of their robot modes can be written off, or their robot modes are so sublime you just never bother to convert them because the transformation is cancer. Then you have the rare black magic gems that do both. Meanwhile the official toys are all over the map.
Bruh I almost always watch until the end for a preview of the next review and I expect some sort of punchline or a joke to come with it... but goddamn, I didn't expect some of that full on Jobby cake.
Went all in on the mp52 seekers, and seeing the clearance and some of the design choices for hinges on the deformation space, i'm not regretting my decision. Especially stuff like 11:30. Could easily see that shit stripping the screw holes over time, not to mention the scuff damage and paint chipping.
Yes but at he end of the day, MP-52 is the inferior product as it's more fragile, the bot-size is wrong, the body-proportions are wrong, has a fake cock pit, and overall, DS is the better looking out of the two.
@@TAURON85 aesthetic features are subjective anyway. But build choices aren't. You can see scratches all over the ds in this video, and the transformation clearance problems make me question how long it'll hold up over time. Finally, a Starscream figure with a waist swivel without compromising the cockpit and not using a fake cockpit for the alternate form, sadly the transformation’s parts just butt heads with together, taking space during the transformation. Highs and lows, pros and cons, nothing truly is perfect but clearly this *is* the superior Starscream figure (against the masterpiece one). Great review as always!
MP-52 has the fake cock pit, more fragile body, wrong bot-mode scale, wrong colour palette, bulging torso, huge backpack, disproportionate body, despite the complex transformation, SD is still hands down the clear winner.
This makes Bold Forms Gladius, 0-1 Studio Cell, Fanstoys Rouge, devilsavior Split, and MP-44’s Transformations look like a deluxe figure transformation from 2002.
Bold Gladius is worse imo, this one's main problem is, like Jobby said, clearance, but outside of that the transformation is fine enough, both modes look good and with a few tweaks the figure feels nice to pose. With Bold Gladius however, every single element was bad (except the gun mode, looks cool ngl).
@@jackmesrel4933 that’s kind of my point. While yes technically bold forms on a technical standpoint was worse. The transformation was frustrating and parts weren’t getting in the way of eachother with a risk of potential snapping. Yes boldforms was floppy, but nothing really made you feel like you were about to rip megatrons like arm off
One thing about third party figures as compared to masterpiece figures is the fact that Takara's quality control is way more stringent and they also take more into account of overall playability as well. Price point of said figures albeit may be a bit questionable.
this is same for any official products..the reason why the price higher is because they have to compensate for the QA, and QA will never allow something like this goes out
Yup. As much as I like third party figures, all of the figures I’ve bought in the past were not the best when it came to transformations. Fans Toys especially with the exception of their Dinobot figures
Daaamn, I feel like Jobby is really into Starscream, first MP-11, then Howling Meteor, then MP-52, and now Crimson Wings. Of course, he voices the king of the skies (pun intended, bad comedy i know) in fan films, but, i feel that Jobby, is gonna have some sort of harem of Starscreams at any time.
this was the first 3rd party transformer that I bought, I got it back in October and honestly the transformation is not nearly as bad as its shown. I found that rotating the arm pieces AFTER turning the wings around completely works best imo the right intake snapped off though. those hinges are waaay too tight
for those of you who skip transformation (AND I KNOW YOU DO DON'T LIE) I will find you... and force you to watch every jobby transformation ever. EVER.
I love third party figures with complex transformations, but I really hate the feeling that I'm going to break something when I'm doing the transformation the "intended" way. Also, here before the reupload.
When it comes to this guy and the MP, it all boils down to which you prefer, a foux chest and no waist swivel but a way more fun transformation, or a slightly more articulated one with a better price but an awful transformation? Honestly I think the masterpiece looks way more appealing to me, because the thundercracker repaint looks amazing.
Jobby, just got mine a few weeks ago and I had the same issues with the loose joint on the left shoulder, bicep swivel, tight elbows, and front skirts. Looks absolutely amazing but HAVE YET to transform this thing. Lovin' your vids. Keep up the great work.
And that right there is my biggest problem with 3rd party transformers. Yeah the robot mode looks super dope and it’s cool that it has a waist swivel but if the transformation makes me want to end it all then I can’t really justify buying one.
I'm the opposite, I'd rather justify a frustrating transformation for two amazing modes at the 3P price point, than justify paying Takara prices for figures whose albeit intuitive transformation often compromises one or both modes.
@@VorpalSlade and it's not all the times intuitive or solid like that, MP Bumblebee and Hound are notorious for breaking and in Bee's case it's just badly engineered, as well as MP 44 prime and Megatron, they do not have smooth transformations in the slightest

Wait. I think I found ya! I've been trying to find, possibly, your channel for like 2 years! I remembered the pfp, but couldn't found it from the videos I searched for... Wow and this just pops up after so long! You made really great, funny content. Real thorough too. Seeing how much work(or lack of) went into products like this, you motivated me to finally buy my own figure from the first time! And had hoped you were doing well, especially during the pandemic... So nice seeing the channel again :')
3:38 If I remember correctly that's because this thing was already in the works when the Starscream 2.0 MP was revealed, they literally just went over that one CAD prototype image of the official MP as a template for the design. Which was also why this released really shortly after MP Starscream 2.0.
A few tips for the transformation's f*ckery: I prefer to slot in the air intakes over the round parts on the hinge joint behind the cockpit before messing with the wings because it helps keep things in place and makes the whole process feel less floppy. I also try to swing the wings into place before dealing with the arm hinge swinging/folding you do at 11:15, since it's a bit easier to do with the arms behind the back. As for the cockpit, I have no tips. Getting the cockpit to fit into place always feels awful.. Also, with all the fixes you mentioned, I'm surprised you didn't have to shave down the pegs for the null rays. Mine were STUPID tight out of the box.

Also the Starscream sitting cross legged on top of Megatron at 6:02 goes fucking hard
Hard enough to transform on it's own, but bless your soul for doing it on camera. You're the best Jobby
15:27 is literally art.
15:27 Oh lawd jobby gonna get me acting up
He do be looking kinda PLUMP there
Than jobby is kinda hot though
Damn Boy he THICC!
God damn that figure is so crunchy you could package it as a nature valley bar
Give this man an award for going through that utter hell of a transformation to deliver us content.
That's actually the longest I heard dispersion relation in one of his videos, longer than the use in his DX9 Gewalt review.. and that was a bloody triple changer..
I think watching this transformation gave me tumors cause oh my God the clearance made me feel pain..
Also the noises the bloody thing did when moving any part during the transformation, thing's crunchy af
The transformation really isn't as bad as he's making it out to be.
@@MrOmgchimps Maybe. But the scratches don't lie tho, thing has a major design flaw in it's transformation, and for the asking price that's pretty bad
@@MrOmgchimps fair enough but the clearance issues must STILL be hell and back..😭
6:00 THESE POSES ARE *_GOLD_* every time, man- every time
Also that transformation sequence was so un-satisfying that it looped right around and became satisfying.
As much as Bold Forms Gladius tore my brain into shreds, this guy right here, made my heart cry in fear and anger.
15:27 the best part of the review
Jobby the cockpit part at 10:35, the clearance issue is much easier to maneuver, if you don't tab the nose cone together.
Jobby's Starscream reviews are some of my favorite reviews of his, I don't even know why. I rewatch them all the time. Thank you father Jobby for blessing us with yet another Starscream review.
9:50 That Starscream face sums up how I feel about this figure. Acceptance.
We can officially say Jobby has gone through Hell and back… More than once…
11:17 theres a much easier way to do this in the beginning where you fold it down where its pointing to the back, bend it at the middle hinge then use that to turn it around
We need to get Jobby’s attention for your comment
@@soggywafle775 theres a way i do it where it's the easiest way i could do it and i think its the most effective, you can also find videos on transforming this figure in the easiest way possible
Well you're wrong and that's fine. We can't all be right or equally smart. MP-52 looks scrap and has fake cock pit that's bulging out so, lol Looser!
Agreed
I 100% agree and did you get the "oomph" from happy feet?
Ya that transformation is pure cancer
Also the transformation isn’t bullshit
This figure has what I like to call MPM Ironhide Syndrome: the legs have very simple, effective and clever engineering but literally every step from the waist upward is hell incarnate.
Seems to be a trend with these lovely 3rd Party figures. Either their transformations are so amazing any faults of their robot modes can be written off, or their robot modes are so sublime you just never bother to convert them because the transformation is cancer. Then you have the rare black magic gems that do both. Meanwhile the official toys are all over the map.
Jobby being a professional figure mechanic at this point with all his glueing and lubing
15:27 DOUBLE CHEECKED UP ON A SATERDAY AFTERNOON
Bruh I almost always watch until the end for a preview of the next review and I expect some sort of punchline or a joke to come with it... but goddamn, I didn't expect some of that full on Jobby cake.
Same! But it... kinda fits? Also I'm in the same state at the moment so i found that hilarious
I'll admit the ds probably looks better yeah, but not if it's snapped into pieces, or looks like it rolled around in gravel
@@TAURON85i dunno, i dont own either but i would get a transformer to…transform it. and i mean they dont look that different from one another
12:10 around that pint it start to sound like he is playing whit a plastic bag.
2 years on, I never miss your videos. I enjoy every video of yours. Thank you so much!
Man, every squeak during that transformation was an ache of terror shooting down my spine.
Hey Jobby I’m not a toy enthusiast or anything but I always love watching your videos and they have really helped me out during tough times. Thank you brother.
The fact that Joey went naked and layer down on the couch makes me feel like he isn’t getting enough recognition for what he is doing to entertain us

Thanks. It hate it.
Thanks. It's unique.
Imma beat to this
the spectrum of man
Finally, a Starscream figure with a waist swivel without compromising the cockpit and not using a fake cockpit for the alternate form, sadly the transformation’s parts just butt heads with together, taking space during the transformation.
Looks like this is the effect of 3rd party brainwashing, liking the figure even though the transformation is pure cancer.
Out of everything that I was not expecting from 2022 the Jobby ass reveal was probably the least expected.
The moment we’ve been waiting the entire week for
This makes Bold Forms Gladius, 0-1 Studio Cell, Fanstoys Rouge, devilsavior Split, and MP-44’s Transformations look like a deluxe figure transformation from 2002.
Nah, it's pretty average if you're used to handling Badcube stuff.
@@nujevad28 well I’m basing this off of past stuff we’ve seen jobby do soooo
I’ve never heard of this ‘Badcube’
Bold Gladius is worse imo, this one's main problem is, like Jobby said, clearance, but outside of that the transformation is fine enough, both modes look good and with a few tweaks the figure feels nice to pose. With Bold Gladius however, every single element was bad (except the gun mode, looks cool ngl).
@@jackmesrel4933 that’s kind of my point. While yes technically bold forms on a technical standpoint was worse. The transformation was frustrating and parts weren’t getting in the way of eachother with a risk of potential snapping.
Yes boldforms was floppy, but nothing really made you feel like you were about to rip megatrons like arm off
@@Grimmations you never heard of Badcube? Are you being serious or just making an unfunny joke?
One thing about third party figures as compared to masterpiece figures is the fact that Takara's quality control is way more stringent and they also take more into account of overall playability as well. Price point of said figures albeit may be a bit questionable.
this is same for any official products..the reason why the price higher is because they have to compensate for the QA, and QA will never allow something like this goes out
Yup. As much as I like third party figures, all of the figures I’ve bought in the past were not the best when it came to transformations. Fans Toys especially with the exception of their Dinobot figures
@@nedlan1857 nah, they'll allow toys that will LITERALLY BREAK or have lose joints

Jobby: AY AY A-
I can’t stop laughing here 😂
3:02 I'm surprised that we still haven't seen a review of this figure yet.
Man in 12:18 it sound like a bag of chips, you know Jobbys sorrow and suffering aside.
this was the first 3rd party transformer that I bought, I got it back in October and honestly the transformation is not nearly as bad as its shown. I found that rotating the arm pieces AFTER turning the wings around completely works best imo
the right intake snapped off though. those hinges are waaay too tight
I mean, transforming anything in front of a camera probably makes it at least twice as awful.
12:11 the slowed down music reminds of a curtain sense from a curtain game more specifically when a curtain thing happens
6:49 First Starscream on the left, look at his hand.
9:26 “naked starcreem isn’t real he can’t hurt you.”
*naked starcreem:*
If you don’t get it it’s because when he takes his wings off he looks all skinny and weird
13:54 "bad coc-"
for those of you who skip transformation (AND I KNOW YOU DO DON'T LIE) I will find you... and force you to watch every jobby transformation ever. EVER.
I’d like that actually, but I don’t skip the transformations
I can feel the pain you went through, because I have this figure too...
Stay strong soldier!
Shouldn't have bought it
You poor soul
The ending though.
Good god man.
15:40
The arms ending up in the hollow portion of the legs is a neat bit of engineering. Too bad the rest of the transformation was cancer.
I love third party figures with complex transformations, but I really hate the feeling that I'm going to break something when I'm doing the transformation the "intended" way.
Also, here before the reupload.
0:22 that was a smooth transition👏
When it comes to this guy and the MP, it all boils down to which you prefer, a foux chest and no waist swivel but a way more fun transformation, or a slightly more articulated one with a better price but an awful transformation? Honestly I think the masterpiece looks way more appealing to me, because the thundercracker repaint looks amazing.
It feels like I'm watching a surgery everytime jobby transforms a transformer with a very complex transformation. I'm sweating through my screen.
Lets just say Starscream has seen better days then this. Also I'm starting to think jobby may be going insane 🤨
Nah jobby is fine.....

14:32 yeah it is
Jobby, just got mine a few weeks ago and I had the same issues with the loose joint on the left shoulder, bicep swivel, tight elbows, and front skirts. Looks absolutely amazing but HAVE YET to transform this thing. Lovin' your vids. Keep up the great work.
Because of your review I bought this figure and they included stickers for both shattered glass and regular transformers they listened to you!!!
I don't care how good this thing looks, NOTHING is worth going through a transformation like THAT!
15:27 You're just playing with fire at this point.
randomly had this video recommended to me after 3 years of first discovering it, thanks for reawakening my love for giant robots and vehicles and especially robots that turn into vehicles
13:47 to anyone wanting to skip the transformation I had to because I did want to see him suffer.
Maybe this is why takara give the new starscream a fake cockpit
3:38 If I remember correctly that's because this thing was already in the works when the Starscream 2.0 MP was revealed, they literally just went over that one CAD prototype image of the official MP as a template for the design.
Which was also why this released really shortly after MP Starscream 2.0.
Thanks!
Thank you for the review - this guy just arrived at my door from Show Z and is my first third party bot. I’m so stinking excited!!!
Looks beautiful, can't say the same for that...very...painful transformation. I would not wanna transform that more than 3 times.
you can really FEEL all that pain he went through to transform that thing
Starscream is finally getting some justice
I haven’t skipped any transformation segment in any video!
It’s really relaxing for me!
