It's really cool seeing a new IP developed from scratch that creates transforming figures. The creative freedom that seems to be a direct result of NOT having to adhere to 45 year old designs from an 80's cartoon is truly staggering, I may pick up this figure for myself.
Toon accurate figures are the dumbest thing. G1 itself was a rushed busted-up effort, it has its own mistakes.
@@ianmaclellan7623 having g1 toy adaptations was cool...a few years ago. I'm completely uninterested in nine thousandth new version of starscream at this point and this figure is such a great breath of fresh air.
As someone who started collecting this last year or so, I'm glad we are getting g1 versions but i also enjoy variety and some if the 3p bumblebee have been fun to see

Love frost light. I really want to see more original designs like this in the fandom instead of another 30 Optimus, megatron, starscream, bee, Soundwave, etc in the same artstyle over and over again.

@@Jan_Iedema because g1 sells... That's like Bandai starting a new dragon ball line and not making multiple Goku first or a new Gundam line and making rx78 and unicorn like crazy... They make what's a guaranteed sale, and once they make enough guaranteed sales they'll make characters that might not sell as much and then sometimes cancel the line because those characters didn't sell and then make the characters that sell again in a new line

7:35 I believe the reason the arms ratchet downwards is so it can hold the pretty heavy weapons without the arm dipping down over time.
Jobby is literally the only person who makes me want to keep watching the ad segment of the video because they're always different with unique jokes and not the bland usual copy paste script/audio like other videos.

I love that Toys Alliance went from those licensed Transformers figures to their own property, AND they nailed it. It's sad we never got a MAS Soundwave ... but getting some kick ass transformable W40K viking robot stuff more than makes up for it.

Jobby: There is a tendency for men to be interested in tools, in machinery, in cars. I think the obsession with mecha is an extension of that. Not saying that women can't be obsessed with mecha as well.

the simplicity of how everything just falls right into place with the transformation felt really enjoyable
A phenomenal figure and great review. A word of warning on Frost Light. The top of the cab was too tight on mine. Opening it up in truck mode for the first time put stress on the hinge. Close it during transformation and don’t ever open it again. This piece is very important. If it breaks you won’t be able to connect the top half to the bottom in robot mode.
Combiner mode: the plastic part in the shoulder ratchet that flex. They aren’t strong enough to hold a pose well with the wolf hanging on it. Let alone with the giant axe. There is a reason the combined promo images never show it doing a dynamic pose with the axe.
This makes me want another third party company to take the original Transformers designs and remake them in a style that works just as well as this figure. Imagine a G1 inspired Optimus Prime or Megatron that isn’t perfectly accurate, yet is still recognizable, but has near perfect robot and vehicle modes like Frost Light does

@@Mekboy_ComputerMonster exactly! So kind of like how the IDW comics or the Cybertron games kind of redesign all the characters, but all the designs look G1 inspired. They need to completely scrap cartoon accuracy and do a total redesign so each mode if as perfect yet functional as possible

After my Thunder Erebus Snapped in half a week out the box with no repair, replacement or refund available I could use something else to decorate my shelves! - Just saw the combiner at the end... Frost light looks pretty rad!! It’s nice to see some original non-transformers transforming figures of such high quality!
The fact that it can hold this pose 8:14 by itself is crazy
I love this aesthetic of this figure. Like you said, blocky but incredibly detailed mechanically! So glad that the Bumblebee movie went down this road, hope they continue it in the next movie!
If you like integrating accessories as a necessary part of transformation, check out the TFC Toys Tyrant (totally not Megatron, honest!).
I think one of my favorite things about that figure is that it not only looks like a GI Joe/Transformers crossover figure, but it has an alternative faceplate to make him look like Cobra Commander.
He is a tad pricey, though.
he is actually based on that crossover, there is a comic about it but i don't remember the name tho but yeah its based on its design and if im not mistaken they already have made Optimus as well and three different versions of him(im not really into GI Joe so forgive me)
1- Is his base colour scheme (the red and blue)
2- ^the same vehicle but its following the GI Joe colour scheme(Green Camo)
3- ^The same colours but instead carries a nuclear Warhead :')
Daaamn man, the whole line seems an amazing project. Creating new characters that can actually be themselves instead of naming them different. Don't get me wrong, 3rd party figures are great, but there is also the itch for something like this: original IPs. Also beast box, those are great.
Oh, I love it when people integrate real life mythology into a fictional setting.

This thing is a work of art. Seing jobby once again reviewing figures has restored me.
I used to have transformers as a kid, but eventually lost interest in them, seeing as i only ever got my hands on deluxe class transformers. But this line looks so incredible that i'd gladly partake in it.
God that transformation is one I could just swoon over 😍
Clean and simple and it doesn't mess with the robot mode. Going to be watching this line to see if there's any for a Beast Wars nut like me, here's hoping those tigers.

Am sure someone might have already said this, so sorry if repeating. But when the shield is on its back in mech mode, the hammer can be plugged into the shield using the tabs that it uses it tab into the hand.

WH40k bot being a transformer is a cool idea, I hope GW would adapt that concept but who knows?
GW seems down for crossovers with things. They just started to show off a magic the gathering crossover
It's been done a few times in fanart - iPaloosaArt has drawings of Grimlock as a Leman Russ, Jetfire as a Marauder and Megatron as a Monolith, and there's also a transforming Orktimus Prime figure somebody scratchbuilt.

I love seeing clever transformations. When the middle of the torso was revealed to be the cab, I was sold. I had no idea how the truck was going to come about, and yet, it was so simple. I might pick this guy up and check out there other stuff too.
Love this! Great to see someone putting real effort into making great original transforming toys that are overall a pleasure to play with! I wouldn't mind seeing the little action figure in the cockpit, maybe in the follow up video with the trailer bot? Your call though jobby, great find!

the vehicle mode doesn't even look like it's part of the same figure, that's how you know it's good

As someone who has a family of Nordic(I'm Nordic) and with a entire bloodline of Vikings...I love this and have any of the toys from that toy line and I recommend looking at the others if you can! Especially if you're into viking esc stuff or anything of the sort!

i am a big fan of the aesthetics of both the forms here, really cool
Glad you liked these as much as me, the wolves come with figures as riders so hopefully you'll have fun doing a bit on them when that time comes, would also love at least one take on the various forts and fortifications kits.
After all transformers has been doing robot basemodes and even tried connectivity play between toys, be fun to see what you think about how this range does it (and does it right in my opinion, the kind of cool dioramas you can set up with them in various configurations is awesome). The only thing I am currently missing from the toyline is... Well, whatever monsters or enemy humans they're supposed to fight against since most of them are all from the same faction.
But I imagine/hope they will be adding those eventually, having some cool 40k meets norse mythology monsters should be funky.
only real ones know the extensive, long running and surprisingly deep Jobby the Hong lore. there should be a quiz with a prize pool about Jobby lore lmao.
