I'm an American Promoter of Big Firebird Toy and I fully agree with your review on all the things that are both unfortunate and unacceptable considering both size and price point. I keep both my sets in the box on the top shelf inside my office closet. I only bought them to support Big Firebird as a company because I believe in them that much and want to see them succeed as a Toy Company. Anyway, As cute as they are, they just don't do it for me. I'm also really bummed that due to their poor sales, this particular line was Cancelled. So, sadly their "Magic Henshin Girl - Lionbell" figure (the only figure people really wanted) is never gonna see the light of day.
I hope it's not the end of this series of toys,I really liked the idea of magic henshin,you are an excellent employee, you care as much about the customers as the company,congratulations
Apologies, but this can't be further from the truth. There was an entire line planned, a Manga that was started and also an Anime that was Greenlit. Tenxing Wei (the CEO) had huge plans for the girls. They were going ton be a big thing. The issue honestly was poor marketing, and bad sales at launch. It's why this particular line was cancelled. It didn't even make 1/3 of the sales EX-01 NICEE made at launch. so the line was shelved indefinatly which also means Lionbell was also Cancelled. They are instead now Focusing on a Beetle Girls Henshin line.
@@Wargod_ARTS I honestly wanted to see this concept take off. It looked nice and adorable in a Samurai Pizza Cats sort of way. I would have definitely supported if I could buy some. Unfortunately, like many things, I was not fast enough to get one before it sold out.

Yeah its a canceled toy line according to one of their employees. Makes sense. There are so many other places to get loli service or transforming waifu service or whatever else you're interested in. This just won't cut it. Especially being born in Japan you have no shortage at all, i could buy a million other things and even having plenty of disposable income i dont feel any real need to buy this lol
The aesthetic of the combiner girls esp on the combined "hyper" mode gives off a bit of Studio Trigger Gurren lagann type of feel. Esp on the spiky,flashy visor and the cross-shaped stars on the knees and shoulders and the long flowing burst effect on the back
I mean, I consider myself a bit optimistic...but if the series actually gets made and people actually like it, hopefully we can get BETTER versions of these figures along the line? I'm not counting on it, but it's always a possibility...at this point, literally nothing is impossible.
Honestly, I really hope they go forward with their other concepts. They look really cool, and they're the only ones making these kinds of figures. I think their mistake is kicking the line off with a combiner, making them susceptible to minor issues that get amplified from the combination requirement.

Apparetelly one of the catphrases of the show is "Do you know who I am?!" screamed by one or more of the protags before they kick the butt of the enemy. I didn't whatch the show but they have a giant robot who keep getting bigger and bigger and the fights become each time more and more crazy and over-the-top. Ever heard of a robot bigger than the universe or a villain physically throwing galaxies around? It came from there.

That's pretty clever on how Scarlet Dragon was handle. Sure it is an accessory pack disguised as a transforming figure but I can't help but feel impressed with how they tried. EDIT: Maybe they should have tried to flesh them out more character-wised with a webcomic or something? Cause it does seem like a bit of waste to see these designs only being utilized for promotion and not a media series or sorts.

Literally. She just LOOKS like a Nightbird... Which I'm not OK with when we know they can do better. Generations/Legends Arcee had the same body but worked for both characters. No sacrifices needed for either.
i just love how jobby throws in what feels like subliminal messaging to watch gaogaigar with the symmetrical docking part with the gemini wings (i think) and the many times gaogaigar is shown on screen (please jobby get crossframe girl gaogaigar it will be worth it trustttt)
Glad you showed the non documented combine mode. I do have this set myself and and it was too expensive when I got it and the price only went way up after that for some reason. I do like all the options posing them but it is sad that every single transformation requires parts forming. I did had one issue with my set and that was that the blue girl of the Gemini Wings had a problem with one of the double hinges at the knee and it was stuck, and I had to use way too much force before it got loose with a loud snap (probably a drop of glue got in there at the factory). The reason for me to get these is because they remind me a bit of video game characters like Megaman. I hope Big Firebird toys will release the other black combiner as well, but if it is the same price or more expensive I probably have to say no.
I will admit that the original combined mode is not that good, and the fact that they had to release an upgrade kit to fix it instead of overhauling the figures themselves is not a good first impression on their skills in making combiners. But the fact that they made said upgrade kit into a delightful little mini-toy goes to show that these guys have some saving grace. I highly doubt any of their future toys will have these issues but considering this is my favorite toy collection out of big firebird, I kinda wish they'd make an improved 2.0 version in the future, especially with the loose hip connections. As it stands, magic henshin is still a strong debut for anime-style transformers and I look forward to what they'll do next.
Really should've either made this video just the second part of the last one, or just make the last video unlisted and released this video as its own thing, because I'm gonna guess the amount of people who skip to see the second part only is going to be quite large
This looks like such a cool concept. Shame the figures don't seem translate it very well. On another note, I'd totally watch watch an animated show about magical girls that turn into transforming robots. It sounds kick ass and pretty funny in a way.
Yeah, that og concept combine form wasn't the best and I too found out about it, which I wished Big Firebird Toys/Build could've included more images. But as it is, it may not be perfect, I too like/love this sets and the concept of Magic Henshin and am looking foward to their future releases
To make the chest tab in properly you have to make thunder light tuck her head in for the first combined mode and the promotional art for that mode has mismatched eyes mostly pink and blue eyes so that is why there are water slide eyes and blank faces, just a tip But keep doing the great work👍
Magic Henshin: Good concept, mired by the need to make things as cutesy/sexy as possible without consideration for engineering. No needs Mantis boobs. No one.

To me it really is just Thunder. I didn't have any problems with Scarlets legs in any of the modes like you did. I think one thing that's impressive is the artist doing all the concept work seems to have a good understanding of the engineering of transformers and designs both modes accordingly, certain shapes are chosen for how they look in both modes, kind of like how Transformers Animated did it. But I think thats what created the problems of the OG combined mode, those designs are so sleek but they put to much work on Thunder, things like the head shrinking into the chest or the thighs/tires stretching into ovals are the few cases of the artist changing things proportionally in way that cant be replicated in the actual figure. Unfortunately, the line has gone on an indefinite hiatus, which I'm taking to mean, "until our not Windblade, fox miku coomer trap comes out". On top of that some of my favorite concepts they've shown are obviously Transformers inspired but after the Nicee head fiasco I don't think they're gonna risk making a big sis Optimus Prime or a loli Swindle. And lastly, I said this in part 1 but, a lot of the original preorders set these at like 160-180 for the whole set, I do not know why they shot up in price. Even at that price though they really needed more features; stands, accessories, paint work, a torso that actually came together and thighs that could actually hold their weight. I love these by the way. I do OG combined mode but fold thunders chest bits to her back and the hair pins over the shoulders, it frees up her neck joint to be a crunch/swivel and makes the shoulders look a little higher, plus shes taller overall compared to the Dragon version. No booba that way unfortunately, but still cute as hell.
The combinations for all these characters combined into one Scarlet Sonic: mixture of Bayverse and G1 Sideswipe, Sonic the Hedgehog, and a girl Thunder Light: Tails the two-tailed fox, Bayverse Scrapper, and a girl Gemini Wings: Tf G1 Arcee and Chromia, and a girl Scarlet Dragon: a monsterized red tank
Despite the MAJOR flaws, i still LOVE this set, and if i can find the whole set for less than $200, i'm definitely picking it up. And i am SO looking forward to the tiger, so freaking cute! And the tank and fox look SO cool!
I keep hearing that people have a horrible experience with the combined mode. I must have gotten extremely lucky because my copy is solid in all forms (except for the same visor). Scarlet Sonic's legs had loosened up over time but I've since retightened those. Also my giant hands accidentally broke one of the hooks that fold out of Scarlet Sonic's helmet and I had to pull the plastic pin out, sand it down so it's thinner, and gorilla glue it back on (twice because the first time it cured at an awkward angle). Then when I put the hook back on I discovered that I sanded the peg down too much and had to thicken the connection up with floor polish. Now she has a nasty looking scab on her helmet, but at least she's put back together. Otherwise this is a good set, would buy twice if the secondary market wasn't bastards and I was stupid.
While the combiner isn't so bad to display. I much, much prefer to display each of the girls individually. There so cute in tiny girl form among my bigger transformers :P Especially Pink and Blue with their face and fingers that makes a heart. Having yellow next to PotP Predaking (with DNA upgrades) gives him a tiny fan.
I love the idea of this. Magical girls that transform into robots? Really cool. The big issues are the horny, the entire joints/partsforming issues, and marketing. Needed to be put into the oven longer.

The concept is great. The artwork is great. I think what limits the transformation is the size of the figures.
They make this a show I’d give it a chance. Solid designs, and I like transforming mechs and magical girls. :)
The girl boss mode really reminds me of Kamen Rider Ex-aid in his Hyper Muteki form. Especially with all the stars attached to it

On top of that some of my favorite concepts they've shown are obviously Transformers inspired but after the Nicee head fiasco I don't think they're gonna risk making a big sis Optimus Prime or a loli Swindle.
And lastly, I said this in part 1 but, a lot of the original preorders set these at like 160-180 for the whole set, I do not know why they shot up in price. Even at that price though they really needed more features; stands, accessories, paint work, a torso that actually came together and thighs that could actually hold their weight.
I love these by the way. I do OG combined mode but fold thunders chest bits to her back and the hair pins over the shoulders, it frees up her neck joint to be a crunch/swivel and makes the shoulders look a little higher, plus shes taller overall compared to the Dragon version. No booba that way unfortunately, but still cute as hell.
I am a little disappointed this set was as underwhelming as it was. I really liked the dorky but hilarious idea of magical Transformer girls.

Scarlet Sonic: mixture of Bayverse and G1 Sideswipe, Sonic the Hedgehog, and a girl
Thunder Light: Tails the two-tailed fox, Bayverse Scrapper, and a girl
Gemini Wings: Tf G1 Arcee and Chromia, and a girl
Scarlet Dragon: a monsterized red tank
Despite the MAJOR flaws, i still LOVE this set, and if i can find the whole set for less than $200, i'm definitely picking it up. And i am SO looking forward to the tiger, so freaking cute! And the tank and fox look SO cool!

I keep hearing that people have a horrible experience with the combined mode. I must have gotten extremely lucky because my copy is solid in all forms (except for the same visor). Scarlet Sonic's legs had loosened up over time but I've since retightened those. Also my giant hands accidentally broke one of the hooks that fold out of Scarlet Sonic's helmet and I had to pull the plastic pin out, sand it down so it's thinner, and gorilla glue it back on (twice because the first time it cured at an awkward angle). Then when I put the hook back on I discovered that I sanded the peg down too much and had to thicken the connection up with floor polish. Now she has a nasty looking scab on her helmet, but at least she's put back together. Otherwise this is a good set, would buy twice if the secondary market wasn't bastards and I was stupid.

While the combiner isn't so bad to display. I much, much prefer to display each of the girls individually. There so cute in tiny girl form among my bigger transformers :P Especially Pink and Blue with their face and fingers that makes a heart. Having yellow next to PotP Predaking (with DNA upgrades) gives him a tiny fan.
I like to think these 5 are Nicee's younger quintuplet 4 sisters and 1 brother.
