@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach yep! The voting was based on popularity and unfortunately out of her two competitors, she lost the popularity vote due to being less famous and known to the audience which is sad.
South Korean singing shows are about popularity. I'm sure everyone knew that Sohyang was the best singer there but she didn't win as a more mainstream rock singer was there with many fans.
These shows were more about being a vehicle to get her out there, as back in 2012 when she did this, Sohyang was not that well known. Still my favourite version on Oh Holy Night.

Today I'd like to introduce you to the Korean crossover male quartet “Libelante“. They are a group that formed through the Korean singing program Phantom Singer 4 last June, and consist of a musical theatre actor (Kim Ji-hoon), a tenor (Jin Won), another tenor (Jeong Seung-won), and a baritone (Noh Hyun-woo). They became popular not only because of their spectacular songs, but also because their average age at the time of debut was 25.7 years, making them the youngest among Korean crossover groups. Besides the musical theatre actor Kim Ji-hoon, the remaining three are still college students.
Since their debut, they have covered songs from various genres including pop, Korean idol’s song, Italian canzone, etc. through more than 20 concerts, various broadcasts, and self-produced programs. Finally, on the 12th of this month, they released their mini album La Liberta.
Today, I wanted to ask you to react to two of their songs: their cover of “Fria Como El Viento “by Luis Miguel and their original release “On Your Way”. The styles of the two songs are slightly different. This is because Libelante aims to popularize crossover music in Korea, where the crossover genre is not yet popular. So, their song “On Your Way” is of a genre that is more familiar to the general public. I want to know how you feel about this rookie’s songs.

You should check out Carrie Underwood’s version of O Holy Night as well, incredible performance as well
The truth is Sohyang’s climax is way harder than the original one! people might think because whistles are higher than mixed voice, it’s harder to do amd it’s not correct. Whistle is easier to hit (for the singers who can whistle)

She is the first person who has been able to correctly sing "Diva Dance" from the movie Fifth Element, without altering the notes and at the correct speed.
