There's almost nothing I love more than getting my face peeled off by So Hyang's incredible high notes! So great to be back with this artist. What else do you all want me to react to and analyze?
This Christmas, make sure to check out her performance of "Oh Holy Night" in the 'I Am a Singer' competition. She truly elevated the song, taking it to a whole new level with her rendition.
It's hard to believe that Sohyang has haters, but there are people who are Sohyang haters and follow her reaction videos just to say absurd things, but you hit right in the middle, they are people who are not used to high notes and that's why they don't They know how to appreciate them, your point of view is very good.
She went through her parents' divorce when she was in high school. As soon as she entered her 20s, she contracted cancer and overcame it again. And she contracted pneumonia, the worst disease for a singer, eight times. But she overcame everything wonderfully. After that She did not forget her difficult past and decided to sing for the rest of her life for people going through difficult times like her. So she politely declines love calls from major musicians and entertainment companies such as David Foster, Seth Riggs, Michael Bolton, Sony Music, etc... and lives in the world with the spirit of service. I think She's perfect as a singer, but she's also amazing as a person. Each person may have their own taste in music, but I don't think there is anyone in this world who can point out her vocal technique and personality.
Although I don't know English, and I have to use automatic translation, the reactions I have seen about Sohyang are masterful, congratulations. And about Sohyang...what can I say? She is from another universe, of course, my favorite singer. Greetings from Spain
I've never heard anyone else who can sing like she does. Sohyang is a one of a kind.. Your analysis is spot on!! Love so much what you say about SoHyang in this video.
This is from a Michael Bolton special in S. Korea. Six of the most popular S. Korean singers were invited to perform in a contest. Each singer was required to perform a Michael Bolton song. SoHyang won! Michael invited her to go on tour with him which she did. A couple of the artists in this competition included Aileen, Jay Park and Lena Park. By the way, I believe that this was SoHyang's arrangement. She also wrote or co-wrote " Dream " which you should react to.
Thanks for reactions mate. We love So hyang she's the best female singer in the world. Other songs I can recommend: Oh Holy Night , Mona Lisa, Dream, Where are you (a decent record)...
I legit cry every time she sings! It's nice to see others who know how difficult it is to sing well appreciating her talents! +comment for the algorithm! Hi RUclipsBots... increase this video visibility, k thx!
SoHyang arranges all of her covers. She is the master behind it all. She even instructs the orchestra sections when and how to come in to suit her. That is basically her orchestra and her backing singers she picked. They all do everything her way. So everything you hear from her on a Korean stage, it’s all her. All SoHyang.
My favorite So Hyang song now is her August 27,2022 performance of Upon This Rock where she ends on a C6 for about 7-8 seconds. Her reaction afterwards is priceless as even she is in awe of what she had just done. It is a fan cam but the sound quality is good enough. The best link I have is ruclips.net/video/9hJ2XCAR8BA/видео.html
Love that you continue to revisit Sohyang. One of the best female singers in the world. I particularly love her performances on the King of Masked Singers in South Korea. Even though we don’t get to see her facial expressions due to the mask, her performances on the show are some of her best. I recommend you check out her version of Dear Me, Breathe and Home. They are stunning. On a second note, I want to encourage you to check out one of the best singers in China, Zhou Shen (Charlie). He has a stunning contra tenor voice that is unbelievable. It’s angelic and ethereal. He has so many beautiful songs. Start with Upwards to the Moon with Sa Ding Ding, his version of Pursuit - China in the Lights at the National Center of Performing Arts, Night in Ulaanbaatar, and his newest song Floating Lights.
Love your reactions and analysis 👍. MY favorite vocalist of all time. I just seen her live 2 weeks ago in California and she performed this song, and i tell you, after 10 years, she hasn't skipped a beat, or "note" i should say 😊. One of her dialogs throughout the concert, she said she was not here for fame, fortune, that she was just a little person, her purpose was to comfort people in her song. The very next morning, she sang with the choir in church. What an AMAZING person this woman truly is. ❤❤😇
Wow, you actually attended? At the Pechanga? (Kinda odd that she, as devout as she is, performs at the casino, and not for the first time there. Not a moral comment -- just an observation.) Lucky you. I wanted to go (as anyone would). Did the performance live up to your expectations? She performed with another singer -- did that detract from the entire performance at all (as in,perhaps less of her than would've been preferred), or was it an enhancement? Was it a packed house? Was the crowd mostly Korean, or was there a sizeably diverse mix? How long was the duration of the performance? Were people buzzing afterwards?
@@Q.Q. Hi Q.Q.😊 Yes it was at Pechanga. I was VERY impressed with the casino itself. HUGE place, a casino and a resort. The casino was on one side, the other side there was a theater and the Summit, which where they performed. A 5 star place in my opinion, very classy. I've observed, most all Korean performers perform there, Ailee was there I believe in July. Even though it's part of the casino, it doesn't feel like it at all, it feels completely separated as if I was seeing a concert at a smaller arena. I actually loved it because after the concert you walked to the other side of the property and there was so much to do, many 5 star restaurants, clubs, etc. The concert itself......Awesome! It was sold out. I would say, about 95% Korean, 5% American. Myself being in the 5% 😄 which was very cool to me. She performed with Jung Dong Ha, which I wasn't very familiar with. He is big in Korea, I noticed he was on Immortal Songs and in the video when she performed the masterpiece Everyone. I loved how they did it. She came out first and sang about 5 songs and then he came out and they sang a song together, and she would go off stage, he would perform 5 songs, she would come back and sing a song together, he would go offstage, she would sing another 5 songs, and that would happen until they sang together at the finale. They shared equal time. Did it detract from the performance? Not at all, He was good. She was AMAZING. Performed most of her popular songs, Perfection Would I have loved to see a full concert of her alone?..ABSOLUTELY
@@michaelp3975 What a great story about her concert! So glad you could see her. I wish there would be some video of it somewhere. I would have loved to have gone.
Hi Tom, Thank you 🙂. She is my all time favorite ❤. I will DEFINITELY see her again. The link below is of her second song she sang. This is not my video, this is the only one I found on here. I sat fifth row, this person was about half way or so, there was a balcony above him. This is a fancam so the audio does not do her justice at all. Plus, he missed the last 15 seconds or so when she REALLY belted it out 😁. Hope this works 👍 ruclips.net/video/HUoSZnB_UQE/видео.htmlsi=pXehlfrM7TiZbACS
Peter, Sohyang stated categorically in an interview about 2 or 3 weeks ago here on RUclips that she is a 100% self taught singer except for five sessions with Seth Riggs back in 2009 or 2010 while she was on vacation in California. Seth Riggs was knocked out by her! Sohyang says that what she learned from Seth Riggs was how to hit a note _precisely._ Everything else you hear from Sohyang's voice is what she taught herself from simply listening to and trying to imitate the vocal trinity on CD, as well as Gospel singers like Brian McKnight and of course Michael Bolton. And maybe reading some books on the subject. What an intellect! So yeah, Sohyang is basically a space alien type of vocalist come down to earth to show us how it's done in the inter-Galactic regions of the universe! LOL! I've never heard her like in my 65 years on this planet. 👽🛸😇🤷♂💖👀😏
@@douglasleonny8695 Just do a search on RUclips for Sohyang interviews. It was posted in mid-October 2023. It was a South Korean man doing the interview, so it is all in Korean. But the CC translation was perfectly understandable.
I really enjoyed this reaction and analysis video! So Hyang's voice is absolutely incredible! I loved this version of Lean On Me! She really brought that song to life!
What you said about getting used to the voice is so true. I never understood deathcore and extreme vocals in general, until I actually started listening to it, and over time my ears developed the ability to appreciate the sounds and make sense of the whole thing.
I am already subscribed and I am very happy to watch you react to Sohyang's singing! Thank you for the Ted Talk, I am in for your complete analysis, pause as much as you want and need haha that is such a delight ! I agree with your comparison to wine, it takes some time to get used to the loud sound but it gets so nice after. It is so worth it.
As for the arrangement, she and her husbands’ families do all of it. And her band/choir are from her church and they travel everywhere with her. I agree the arrangement is a bit unconventional, but if you remember that SOHYANG’s mission in life is to bring joy and comfort to those in her audience, then it’s 100% doing exactly what she wanted. Who wouldn’t have wanted to be there in that audience? Who among us doesn’t want to hear her famous Bb5 live?? Who Peter, who, lol 😂
So Hyang was suffering from pneumonia for many years and her doctor told her that her lung was functioning only 30%, he told her to stop singing. She suffered from pneumonia total of eight times because it came back again and again every time she was cured. She was thinking seriously about quitting her singing career after the live performance "You raise me up." It makes it even more that she is a one of the best vocal singer in history of music is that she sang all these live performances while her lung was working only 30% plus she arranged all of her performance for all the instruments and chorus with arrangement. That is something not many singers can do.
I saw a recent performance-interview with SoHyang. Besides her singing sounded as good as ever. She said that she has toned down her high belting and is exploring other colors in her voice. The songs she sang on this show had a definite R&B tinge to it. On a personal note, she was delightful and enthusiastic with the interviewer.
@@CodyCha I think it's time to move on from the SoHyang of ten years ago. She sounds much different in the thirty minute performance -interview I watched. I'm well aware of the old Mariah Carey connection. I think that was mostly others branding her with that. She may have been a fan, but her voice has always been superior. Given her health issues she has been mostly invisible for the past three years. This is almost a comeback for her.
Love your in depth analysis of my favorite vocalist. She is simply incredible. Many of the songs she covers I was never really a big fan of, but I could listen to her sing anything. 'You Raise Me Up', 'I Have Nothing', and 'The Power Of Love' are among her many epic performances you've yet to experience. Peace.
Great Ted talk and reaction Peter . It’s completely correct that it sometimes takes experience to gain a love of extreme ranges . I listen to opera with my mum as a child so I really enjoy big voices and ranges 😊
Sohyang has a wealth of material you could react to. Maybe check out a different kind or pace of song from her. She recently put out an acoustic song called Higher. It's uploaded to her own channel. Title: 소향 (Sohyang) - 'Higher (Acoustic)' Official Acoustic Video
While most singers do the high notes maybe once or twice, what separates So Hyang from other singers is her consistency of sustaining those high notes which ever part of the entire performance, and she can do those high notes all day long, like reading a novel in her free time. P.S. I'm not a music expert, but there are only two things that can explain your opinion about people who dislike a singer who does high notes. 1. Preference 2. Hater/Basher
My calculations, 1 in 14 Billion. No one like her since music has been recorded. The only singer I have ever heard who had be questioning my ears. Can someone really be that good. She is.
Those who call So-Hyang's highs "screechy" are far more likely to be those who, for whatever reasons, are predisposed to not liking her, rather than because they are possibly novices to high notes sung. They have their own heroes, whether it's for nationalistic reasons, racial reasons, whatever, and to hear others claiming So-Hyang to be the "greatest singer" or the "greatest female singer," etc., in the world, triggers their prejudices.
Most of those people are Filipinos or sometimes fans of Dimash. They have to go around mocking singers who they deem rivals to make themselves feel better
@@CodyCha Oh, those Filipinos really go in on Sohyang, calling her screechy, a screamer, a shouter, and whatnot. They can't stand her, and it's not just Sohyang-they throw shade at talented folks from other countries too.
im a filipino and u couldn't have said it any better, it's purely the feeling of being threat that for some reason they have to have that need for validation that's the reason why a lot pf reactors are coming out all of a sudden and exaggerate their reaction coz statistically they know that they will just eat that up specially if it's from someone from another country, i do get that coz music is subjective but they do tend to be crazy about it to the point that they would go above and beyond for their faves and not even being paid for it, pathetic ? very much so. they have this mindset that filipino's are the best which is not true coz it is subjective and would also go to the point where they would say she is auto tuned and all plastic coz she is from korea. it's awful how they rebuttal in conversations and stupid
theres no one like her out there thats whats make her special shes not only a belter sheas incredible check out begin again anything from there and listen to her incredible acustic voice world class is what she is lots of love from the uk

Please react to her cover of Easy On Me from last year (outdoors under a giant bridge with rain in the background). It was posted by the "Sohyang official" youtube channel so no copyright filters needed. It feels pretty impromptu imo and really showcases the beauty of her voice (in it she is 45 years young)!
If you haven't seen her performance of Mona Lisa on King of Masked Singer, you absolutely should. All of her performances on that show are amazing, but Mona Lisa and Hug Me are vocally just so impressive. Please watch them. I'd love to see your reaction.
Sohyang has said in an interview that this performance before Michael Bolton was the most pleasing to her personally up to that point in her career because Michael Bolton is one of her absolutely favourite singers, and because he was so effusive in his praise for her she was satisfied that she and her team could produce similarly world class songs and performances. And hey, Michael Bolton told her she was a "vocal virtuoso" after the concert and invited her to join him for the rest of his South Korean tour. How do you beat that? Well, Michael Bolton can offer to take you on an entirely new world tour making you the featured guest--and that is _exactly_ what he did! Unfortunately, or not, the two could not make their schedules match no matter how hard they tried and the tour never materialized. This was actually fairly depressing for Sohyang because she really wanted to go BIG TIME in the music business at that exact moment but everything seemed to conspire against her. Pneumonia problems would crop up and this has been a chronic problem for Sohyang. She would later recognize this as God's way of preventing her from getting caught up in the North American and European music industry that would have been destructive to her character at that time. Sohyang is humble enough and courageous enough to confess she had become so ambitious that she was an ugly person, short tempered with other people and not treating them with proper respect. I know, my jaw hit the floor when I read the interview too! Sohyang a _mean person?_ Say it ain't so! But we all have times where we are embarrassed at how we behaved and Sohyang is just a human being, like the rest of us. Two years later in 2016 Sohyang was almost ready to quit the entire music business because her health problems were so bad. Yet she had given her truly immortal performances of "Bridge Over Troubled Water," "Arirang Alone," "Everyone" and "I Have Nothing" only the previous year in 2015, and "The Prayer" and "Power Of Love" in 2014--songs any diva who has ever walked the earth would kill to have in their repertoire! So she plundered her bank account and took a trip to New York and Philadelphia. In the latter city Sohyang saw a quote from President Franklin Roosevelt where he had said in his inaugural address during the Great Depression of the 1930s that "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." This proved so inspirational for her that when she got back to South Korea she entered the "King of the Masked Singers" contest in 2017 and won it on six consecutive occasions! Still the pneumonia dogged her so badly she knew it was God's way of telling her she had to reassess why she had become a singer in the first place. And that was to sing to lift people's spirits who were going through hard times. In 2018 David Foster himself did eight concerts with her at Tokyo's Blue Note Club and it is thought he offered to be the producer for new recordings of her. But she had been really reconsidering her purpose in life and decided the Hollywood lifestyle was the last thing she truly wanted, and in 2020 she turned down a contract offer from Sony Music US, _the 2nd largest music corporation in the world!_ Since then Sohyang has been resolute in her decision to stay away from the music "industry" and manage her own career for the purposes she had started it all with. I for one can't express how happy I am she has chosen the path she did because she is one of the most inspirational people I have ever come across in my entire life, and I know countless others feel exactly the same way. 👌😉💖💖💖 And here is what Michael Bolton told Sohyang after this performance. To say she bowled him over is an understatement! ruclips.net/video/vgXcO88ctVs/видео.html
Thank you for this reaction. She is absolutely incredible. Please do more! A request, if you please. Emma Kok, 15 years old, from the Netherlands. The song she sings which has brought her so much attention is "Voila". Since it's in French, subtitles are a must. She has a rare and serious medical condition, a paralyzed stomach, and is kept alive by a feeding tube! Please look her up and react to this incredible talent! I think you will be amazed and delighted!
The difference between Sohyang and Dimash is that Dimash wants to show off but Sohyang lets you feel the emotion. I have seen so many people get shocked by Dimash’s high note but never seen anyone crying. A lot of people cry when Sohyang sings me included. Especially " Where are you? " She almost cries with sorrow and sadness. You can feel that emotion. Unreal !!!
Fun fact for you about her vocal coach. It was Seth Riggs, who was Michael Jackson’s vocal coach. Another popular coach. She travelled to LA to get lessons from him.
Sohyang only had five sessions with Seth Riggs while on vacation in California in 2009 or 2010. That is the only formal vocal teaching Sohyang has ever had. Period. Think about that. And that was after singing professionally for 10 years. And as Sohyang said in an interview only about 2 or 3 weeks ago, that was _years_ ago. And all she learned was how to hit a note with precision. Seth Riggs was apparently astonished at her natural ability. 🤔🤷♂😇
Sohyang's voice is a masterpiece, it's angelic and has a lot of emotions that at least for me touches my soul. Hug me or misty are great songs that conveys the emotions am talking about. If you want to listen to more mainstream she has a lot of covers I will always love you, I have nothing, Easy on me and others. Thanks for the analysis much appreciated
I just binged a lot of your videos because I love seeing people react to So Hyang and just find your insight very interesting. I really adore your reactions. If you have the time maybe react to So Hyang covering"I have Nothing" on the DMC Festival - much love from Germany
How about "Arirang Alone" from SoHyang. If you haven't already, how about some Katrina Velarde singing "Reflection" or Kate Lott from Voctave singing in their "Disney Princess Medley".
Peter thanks for your reaction! Sohyang speaks about her technique as using "mixed voice." Perhaps this is why at times its hard to fully tell if shes using chest or head? Im not a vocalist so any input/wisdom would be appreciated.
Fun Facts: - M. Bolton later invites her to his concert and they sing together. - The short-haired lady we see from time to time is Lena Park, who is the best vocal in Korea when Sohyang has a cold. - The long blonde who seemed shocked is Hyolyn, the main vocal of girl group Sistar.
There is a newer Christian song she sings with Petra called, 'Freedom' that is pretty spectacular. Here is the link below. ruclips.net/video/5-WPK-DlZ3Y/видео.html Sohyang and Petra (feat. Young J) 'Freedom'. Written by Sohyang and Petra.
Yesss I’ve been waiting for more Sohyang!! Great reaction Peter!! Please react to Son Seungyeon on immortal song 2 she is another amazing Korean vocalist her “lost love” is incredible🔥

So you also have a "thing" for a Korean singer? ;) Of a bit different kind, though... But I agree, she's so amazing, thank you for another great analysis. Definitely this little country have some incredible singers that still stay way too undervalued... But the problem is that majority of people generally don't value great, powerful vocals, especially new ones. Yong people are mostly into beats and rap... (or music nerds into some weird experimental stuff ;) pop is meh for them) older listeners often prefer to stick to music they know. People who love to constantly search for talented, outstanding singers are so rare :(
That Bb5 is more of a Chest Mix rather than full chest. Most normal people would hit that Bb5 in their head mix or pure head voice, you just have to forward the placement so it sounds so it doesn't sound like a pure head voice. But miss Sohyang here did it in her chest mix. INSANE!
No one can belt in the 6th octave. It was head voice. Sohyang can belt a G5, which is almost literally unheard of. Peter noted that in his review of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Sohyang is obviously an alien.
@@ToddSauve It is a mixed voice. Its a very heady mix like all mixes in that range but it is a mix. Gospel singers sing higher with a mix. It is realistic, just not common.
@@blu5018 Which note are you referring to? The C#6 or the G5? Peter has noted, as I wrote previously, that a belted G5 is basically unheard of in the singing world. A belted C#6 IS literally unheard of! As far as I know ... mixes are hard to determine from recordings and we would have to get the final word from Sohyang herself. But Peter is _fairly_ certain it was a belted G5, LOL! 🤷♂
@@ToddSauve C#6. Gospel singers have gone up to D6 mixed though. Just because its heady doesn't make it not a mix and therefore not a belt. Though, the term belt is used inconsistently so perhaps your definition is chest dominant mix.
@@blu5018 I am not a singer and my formal training is limited to my time in the church choir as a youngster back in the mid-1960s, ha, ha! Thus I defer to Peter Barber's expertise because he _is_ a trained opera singer. As I said, Peter is _fairly_ certain it was a belted (or chest dominant) G5. He described that as the highest he had ever heard a belt from any woman on the planet. Thus my supposition that anything higher, such as a C#6, must be head voice. Ah, but that we had carved in stone definitions, eh? 😉 Sohyang just gives music lovers no end of fits with what she can do with her voice! And all this from a tiny 5 foot 4 inch, 100 pound woman with only five sessions of professional voice instruction from Seth Riggs in her entire life. Words, I think, fail us all! 🤔
I hope you will take the time to listen to 4th Impact they are a sister group from the Philippines there vocals are amazing.they did so hyangs bridge over troubled water it fantastic.
I am a person who watches your broadcast in Korea. Sohyang is a top vocalist who is called Korea's Mariah Carey. I hope Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing' stage, which can be said to be Sohyang's best live stage, is also broadcast. I will continue to support broadcasts with good commentary.
28:52 Thanks for the clarification because people always say that she sounds like yelling when she belts out high note. She has a wide vocal range and most of her high note are always supported or even resonance. If she really does scream or yell like literally, she wouldn't have been able to maintain her voice in such a good condition until now.
Абсолютно согласна с Вами, Питер. Любить мощные верхние ноты Со Хян и не считать их визгливыми - это вопрос "наслушанности", готовности к тому, чтобы воспринимать такой тембр позитивно.

@@Q.Q. Thanks for asking, hope that helps 😊😊😊
Hope this works 👍

Where can i see that interview, please?
@@douglasleonny8695 Just do a search on RUclips for Sohyang interviews. It was posted in mid-October 2023. It was a South Korean man doing the interview, so it is all in Korean. But the CC translation was perfectly understandable.
I really enjoyed this reaction and analysis video! So Hyang's voice is absolutely incredible! I loved this version of Lean On Me! She really brought that song to life!
Outstanding analysis and reaction. Sohyang is a living legend. Had the pleasure listening to her live - just unreal
omg.. your face when you heard the aeolian cadence was like the kid who finds the golden egg at the Easter Egg Hunt!
Welcome back to The slaying Queen So 😅
Maybe you can take a look to her masksinger perfomance "Monalisa"😊
Thanks from Perú
What you said about getting used to the voice is so true. I never understood deathcore and extreme vocals in general, until I actually started listening to it, and over time my ears developed the ability to appreciate the sounds and make sense of the whole thing.
So super good! You’re one of the very best! Sohyang is my favorite. Mahalo! 🤙
The Queen ruling our hearts, just another day at her work of making wonders. 👍👍👏👏👏
I am blown away by her voice! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Do u copy and paste this to every reaction video of so hyang?? 😂
Thanks for informing i knew almost all this info but was she suffering since youth i heard that got greater since 2018
@TheAstroboi66 thats why I know about this word by word
I saw a recent performance-interview with SoHyang. Besides her singing sounded as good as ever. She said that she has toned down her high belting and is exploring other colors in her voice. The songs she sang on this show had a definite R&B tinge to it. On a personal note, she was delightful and enthusiastic with the interviewer.
Sohyang was hugely influenced by Mariah Carry so many of her songs have R&B vibe. She even had a full cornrow braids on her 2012 album.
Amazing singer, amazing woman, and for everything she's gone through in her life a real hero.
Sohyang is know as the mix Queen. She can make a mix belt that sound almost like chest voice. Amazing
You're the only person on this planet that I'm willing to wake up at 6am to watch! LOL
8am for me but, same.

Can we please vote for him to react to Dream by Sohyang
Can you believe she still performs this til this day (recent one was yesterday) but instead of a bb5 she belts a B5 !!! So crazy❤❤
I don't respond emotionally to her the way many others do, but she is a phenom - a force of nature.
'hug me' and 'where are you' are not reacted to enough...both are slow builders leading to absolute mayhem.
her voice is an irreplaceable gem 💎
I'm better than her
Awesome analysis! I saw you did another Sohyang video and got excited. Hope many more to come.

Thank you Peter, for another enlightening mater class 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Loved the So Hyang's unique voice/fine wine analogy 🍷 Big fan of your voice BTW 👌🏻
Please react to her cover of Easy On Me from last year (outdoors under a giant bridge with rain in the background). It was posted by the "Sohyang official" youtube channel so no copyright filters needed. It feels pretty impromptu imo and really showcases the beauty of her voice (in it she is 45 years young)!
sohyang - i have nothing, you raise me up 추천합니다
Just...She is out of this world !
If you haven't seen her performance of Mona Lisa on King of Masked Singer, you absolutely should. All of her performances on that show are amazing, but Mona Lisa and Hug Me are vocally just so impressive. Please watch them. I'd love to see your reaction.
I still say that she was the dominant singer in the 2nd decade of the 21st Century.
And here is what Michael Bolton told Sohyang after this performance. To say she bowled him over is an understatement! ruclips.net/video/vgXcO88ctVs/видео.html
Thanks for the TED Talk! 😄
She is 1 in 7 and a half billion !!!!
Oh queen 👸 sohyang 👸
Please react her song "you lift me up" and Whitney Houston song "I have nothing" covered by sohyang😍
Man... I LOVE that you not only referenced people's criticism and approached it with such respect and wisdom. I greatly appreciated your Tedtalk haha
15:54 the love for aeolian cadence is admirable! 🎉
Unreal !!!
This performance is just so fun and energetic!
I'm hear for all the pauses. Long form videos are tedious to edit but so satisfying

Sohyang singing Mona Lisa on King of mask singer.
She is great at softer gentler songs too. Check out "I will always love you" or "Misty"
How about "Arirang Alone" from SoHyang. If you haven't already, how about some Katrina Velarde singing "Reflection" or Kate Lott from Voctave singing in their "Disney Princess Medley".
Not only her unmatched range and technique, she really has one of the most stunningly ethereal voice on earth.
Peter thanks for your reaction! Sohyang speaks about her technique as using "mixed voice." Perhaps this is why at times its hard to fully tell if shes using chest or head? Im not a vocalist so any input/wisdom would be appreciated.
You're excitment around 16 minutes was so fun hahah! Great reaction and analysis!!!
Thanks, Jen!
Dude, your infatuation with Aolean Cadences is fantastic😂😂
Fun Facts:
- M. Bolton later invites her to his concert and they sing together.
- The short-haired lady we see from time to time is Lena Park, who is the best vocal in Korea when Sohyang has a cold.
- The long blonde who seemed shocked is Hyolyn, the main vocal of girl group Sistar.
You should check Seo Eunkwang “Fate”. He is the main vocal of Korean boy’s band BTOB. Beautiful performance

INSANE!
" I have nothing" is best
Sohyang belted a C#6 once in a version of Dream
Sohyang just gives music lovers no end of fits with what she can do with her voice!
소향님은 그냥 소향으로 부릅시다 다수의 보컬 코치들 께서도 소향님은 비교할수 없는 존재라는데 왜 굳이 머라이어 캐리의 굴레에 가두려 하시는지요?
You have a cool hat with your name on it! Cool design! 😌
Thank you for your reaction😊
