Fun fact: Price was originally gonna sing turn it off, Trey pictured him as gay but decided against it bc he didn't think another comedy musical needed an "am i gay?" song
Thank God He did that. I'm not a homophobe but I'm getting annoyed with that song and the" I'm gay and im proud song" They have been doing it since the 90s and its getting old.
The early demos were way more South Park-y. I kind of like it. I think if they reincarnated this into South Park style, they should use these version of the songs.
Just a few answers to some questions in earlier comments - Family Home evening is the name of the song that was eventually cut from the show - Yes it does sound like a messed up Sesame Street song. Probably because it was written by Bobby Lopez, Composer of Avenue Q (actually the show that caused the three of them to meet up and decide to write Book of Mormon). Avenue Q is an "adult" Sesame Street. He also wrote Frozen but that's very different from his other work.
Although I definitely definitely like the final version better, this one is interesting too! It sounds really showtuney and stuff. Also Jesus Elder Cunningham sounded so annoying
i swear, i keep hearing randy when im listening to this

I remember they saying in the interview that there was a song about being in a Mormon family that was cut from the musical. Does anybody know if we can listen to that?
I think all of them were honestly. I mean Cunningham says that he "can be gay and not say anything about it" Word of god that Price was originally going to be (and honestly he still seems like it) and they say at the start that "all of us have (been having gay thoughts)" And Mckinley is... Very Mckinley.

@@notchuckproductions5029 soooo why can't we sing about being proud? lol just ignore those songs, ofc you won't rly like them since you can't relate
most Price's still end up having a strong gay vibe anyway, thank god xD
@@jennym4882 especially in that one performance when elder McKinley accidentally kisses him lmao
@@georgesmith4307 Wait, elder McKinley accidentally kisses elder Price? In what performance?
"W-Wait a second. That's not what I'm confused about."
Mira Bolinder "Every fanfiction about this show says otherwise!"
I really wish they kept that
gold
I'm confused. I Am Mormon.
2 things
1. trey's voice sounds like the voice he uses for butters dad.
2. this sounds like a messed up sesame street song.
gba425 if you wanna hear more messed-up Sesame Street songs by these composers, I highly suggest Avenue Q
gba425 AAAAAAAAHH THIS COMMENT IS BEAUTIFUL
Matt as the Elder with the lisp always fucking cracks me up.
The early demos were way more South Park-y. I kind of like it. I think if they reincarnated this into South Park style, they should use these version of the songs.
I think they didn't want it too south park-y
Yeah, I think so too. I adore the official end results too but honestly I love anything that Matt and Trey make.
0:24 I love how jazzy this version of McKinley is. :D
I can't help but hear South Park characters.
We have the same profile picture and I was confused for a second
All the voice cracks in this give me life.

Arnold Cunningham worked the movie theater box office in South Park?
Izzy Mandelbaum who knew?
@@rebeccaweems3921 I knew. You know why? Because I Am Mormon.

"I'm not gay." Cracks me up!!
These men are gods.
At 0:56 Trey sounds a bit like Robin Williams!
all these demos are amazinggg
while i heavily prefer the finished turn it off, this one is really catchy and jazzy. i just wish it didn't feel so rushed.
This song is really more about being gay oh my.
alex yeah the musical used to focus more on elder price being gay
I love it
Elder MckinLEYS VOICE IM MELTING
in the current version, McKinley says "WOAHH, TUrn it off!"
in this version, he says "waa, turn it off"
i like that :)
I love how in this version there were (3?) missionaries ??
McKinley sounds like Shannon Bell or Swan in this version.
they should do a performance with trey and Matt as the main characters
Incredible stuff
So true. I Am Mormon.
Aside from Matt and Trey, is that Bobby Lopez singing here too? Anyone else?
Matt kinda sounds like he did in Cannibal here.
Someone play this at my funeral please
i swear, i keep hearing randy when im listening to this

Antônio Augusto It's called 'Family Home Evening', and it was cut and replaced by 'You and Me (but mostly me)'. It's on youtube.
Does anyone know the name of the actors singing here?
most of the voice owned by Trey Parker
and also Bobby Lopez and Matt Stone
I think for the demo Parker, Stone, and Lopez did the voices just for it.
yessir
Is there a third guy singing? I recognise Matt and Trey.
Thanks!
i hear a grown up scott malkinson
anyone else 🤔
tj of the universe HAAHHA RIGHT
YES
this is b o p
I like it, but all the verses sound the exact same and it's so weird.
are trey parker and matt stone ???
analia n meza yes!
*uh oh*
This is funnier for some reason lol
Woah I’m shook
I can’t help but hear the diabetic kid in South Park for some reason
This seems too rushed.
Have to remember this was just the demo to work around for the final version of the song :)
I kinda wish they kept it as jazzy as it is here, but the final version is still great
I see why they changed the tune of it, as this version sounds like it should be on South Park than anything aha
Was Cunningham gay originally?
I think all of them were honestly. I mean Cunningham says that he "can be gay and not say anything about it"

The Scott Malkinson voice 🤣
Scott Malkinson on the track (he has diabetes)
