Actually this song got replace by "You and Me but mostly Me" which focuses more on main characters personalities and motivations. This one has little to do with the main story line
This one's actually very sweet. You can tell from the show and from the South Park episode that Trey Parker really respects the family togetherness a lot of Mormon families have.
If this was in the show I wonder how many of the people in the audience would laugh at 'see a broadway show'? I bet a few would have left their child to see this show.
They really loved this song and didn't want to cut it. They did to get to "Hasa Diga" faster because obviously this song isn't the way the show is really headed.
I believe they cut it because they would have had to cast additional people just to play the Mormon family which, in a stage production, isn't very practical.
@@gore6587 all of the white females in the show are just the mormon actors in drag as it would be a waste getting people to play the white females as they don't have any lines or major roles. If it was a movie obviously you'd get extras but in a stage show it's just unnecessary.
Agreed. The lyrics aren't as funny as the other songs and it just doesn't seem to fit. Plus, there is plenty to make fun of when it comes to Mormons (which the show did a great job doing) but honestly, family home evening sounds like a nice tradition! So making fun of it isn't as funny as some of the more wacko stuff, in my opinion anyway.
@@SuperCatman Yeah, it's a nice contrast between the super-wholesome, nauseatingly kid-friendly sheltered family life the Price family leads and *"80% of us have AIDS"* But it slows down the pacing before Price & Cunningham get to Africa, and it's not an "I wish" song, so had to go. Might work in a movie adaptation, though!
I know this song doesn't make sense on the show and that even though it would elicit a few laughs, it would interrupt the narrative unnecessarily, but it's so cute and with those great little jokes, that maybe they could have added it as an 'extra' or a 'bonus song' to the soundtrack, I would pay to listen to this with the voices of the original cast xD

And "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" is a parody of "Advance Australia Fair." There's only 13 notes. This is just the least catchy ripoff. (I once attended a lecture where she said that all songs rip each other off. "Yes, we have no Bananas" has parts of Handel's Allelulia Chorus and "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean." "A-llelulia Bananas, so bring back my bonnie to me." I always remember that if I want to judge.)
Family Home Evening was such a shit time when I was Mormon. All you do is read fairy tales and pretend they're true and then maybe play some boring ass board game with some delicious goodies. Waste of my life really, the whole cult was a waste of my life.
It was all about the family though. Personally those are the only moments I kinda miss from when I was a mormon, yeah the reading part was boring as shit but play board games and watching movies with your close ones is always a hit.
You know, because of the cult part. I don't judge any member, big part of my family are still members of the church, however I personally don't have any religious faith in general, I don't believe in god nor do I have any interest in being in a church or religious organization. I always hated Sundays and never looked forward going to church, it's no use trying to commit into something you have no motivation to participate in.
***** Some family home evenings were fun and it's good to be with the family once a while, but it seemed like a chore, every monday night when wednesday seemed more appropriate for everyone or something lol, just like the home teachers come round to get their temple recommend brownie points chore out of the way rather than genuinely coming to see you because they want to etc
"I know who goes first. It's the Lord."
i laughed so hard
I'm pretty sure everyone did xD

That "kill me" was hilarious.
note to self: 2:02

my parents left ME to see this show lmfao
"I know who goes first. It's the Lord."
Definitely a South Park song more than a Broadway song. Great song!!
I'm just picturing Randy Marsh in South Park singing this
Jenna Lynn Lace yes
EXACTLY LOL thats exactly what it sounds like LOL
IM DEAD RIGHT NOW I CAN PICTURE MCKINLEY SINGING THIS AND PRICE GETTING SO ANNOYED
OH EM GOSH, SOMEONE ANIMATE THIS
Hahaha I want to see this idea
Carson PoliPenguin HAHAHAHAAH
If Trey and Matt were to ever make a film adaption I really hope they’d add this one 😂 it’s seriously one of my favorite songs from these demos
“family home evening
yippy” IM LAUGHING
tj of the universe Also "Family home evening, kill me!"
Cute song, but I can see why it got cut. It might have messed up the pacing.
And yes, Family Home Evening always made me say, "Kill me!"
They really loved this song and didn't want to cut it. They did to get to "Hasa Diga" faster because obviously this song isn't the way the show is really headed.
This is what happened when Randy became a Mormon in that one episode.
I believe they cut it because they would have had to cast additional people just to play the Mormon family which, in a stage production, isn't very practical.

@@gore6587 yeah ig so
Put this in the movie! And lets have Trey, Matt and Booby on a concert tour performing all the songs.
Lmao booby
@@elderlick6090 Lmao Lmao booby
This is amazing😂 This musical is the best💕⭐️🎵🎭
I am a Mormon and I go to YSA ward and I Love family home evening
Great now I just think of characters from South Park singing this. Looking at you randy
I find this song absolutely hysterical!!!!!!

I mean this wasn't really making fun of family home evening, it was just building context. But it was probably right to cut it anyway.
Lol "were singing it right now" that was pretty funny
It was replaced by You And Me (But Mostly Me)
I wish this was still in the show!!!!
Thank GOD this was taken out of the show
I’m kinda glad this song got cut. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine, but it would be the Book Of Mormon’s “to break in a glove” or “sentimental man.”
Literally couldn't of said it better myself.
No, they just didn't have enough time for it. They needed to get to Uganda faster, so they would have time for 'Hasa Diga Eebowai'.
"k i l l m e ."
This is deffo a parody of can you feel the love tonight lol
"Now there wife don't ruin family home evening"
