the times when town boss raids were arranged in orgrimmar, and 40 people would get teleported by a warlock just outside Ironforge in dun morogh awaiting a go from raidleader to start storming Ironforge when the world server would go down. man those were the times, spontaneous fun city raiding
poor illidan all he did was sacrifice himself to gain the power to defeat the enemies of his people and the world and what does he get for it? he gets banished, betrayed, imprisoned, and killed
god damn man, i remember the first time i heard this music, right when we charged into the Reliquary of Souls, at first i was like "what the hell is that?" it looked like something was trying to break out of those chains, then suddenly it pops out and then shit goes down, the Darkness of the room, the music, the ghosts on the way to the Reliquary, absolutely amazing, gave me freaken chiils
True. That feeling after a long day, sitting down in front of the PC, stacked up with drinks and nasty food all around you, putting your headphones on, logging into skype...then hanging around in the SW or IF...waiting for the invitation from raid leader. Man...those were the times...nothing else exists when you play WOW. I haven't played it for about 3 years now, but still I feel like I played it yesterday. If I went inside again, I'd feel like I never left. I'll never forget WOW.
@MrKaggles The badge system was introduced in BC. Also, players often skipped heroics and went straight into Arenas and battlegrounds because it was easier to get epics that way. Also, guilds were often being canibalized when a tank with T-5 gear went and joined a guild that was doing T-6 content. As a result, a lot of guild hopping was taking place. In the end, either you were stuck doing Kara or you were fortunate enough to get into a T-6 guild. And "earning" gear meant you won the roll.
I love this fight!, even more with WOTLK out, it's quite funny when you see a group of lvl 80's going in and being confused at the fact they acctually have to use tactics in a fight. Also first phase was awsome!! us healers acctually got to throw a few punches =D
ToC wasn't horrible in EVERY aspect ;p the music was good ;) but other than taht...yes. one boss raids have always been there (Ony, Maghy). and yes, id vote for Ulduar as the best raid in wrath :D that one was really a pleasure to do
Man ROS was Pretty hard bak in BC i remember all the wipes we had ugh but yea hes ezy once u get him first few times but tbh 1 of my fav bosses in BT =)
True, dat. I rolled a warrior tank when TBC came, as many people who rolled their first chars, journey to 70 was long. It took me 2 months... Anyway, by the time I got 70, I first had to do a ridiculous amount of quests to get some green gear that was propably the best (and only) you could get at the time. After that began my long rep grind with sha'tar to get the shield. In wotlk - all this is gone. When I go to instance/raid all I basically do is press 1,2,3,4. No CC, no hard tactics.
These days WOW lost almost all of its soul. There's no more mystery that it had when it came out. I remember in Vanilla...everything felt like a great adventure since almost nobody knew anything about it. Everything felt different. When I started playing it, I didn't even know what the top level was , or what an instance or a raid is. That's what made the game epic. Running from Goldshire to Stormwind for the first time alone is a more epic experience than any other game can give you.
@Shaeam Illidan required some form of coordination, only a warrior was able to tank him due to Shear, you needed two more tanks with fire resist gear to tank the adds with 1 million health points, PLUS you had to kite them in a way so that they were no more than 25 yards from ANY player in the raid otherwise they'd enrage and wipe the party- oh, and they left flame trails, then you needed a warlock to tank him in another phase while killing parasitic adds... A real hectic fight it was
Now Vanilla sucks hard, guys. Im sure that s was great long time ago, but now it's actually shit and its fucking enjoying me, when i hear about creating official realms for that fucking old unactual version of WoW.
there is a way to keep doing it the old way, you know.. just spend all the badges on stuff like orbs and sell 'em on the AH, and get a guild of likeminded people (worked for me ^.^) and progress the old way.
if you do that, I will fucking laugh and I will worship you like a god Ryszka. This shit gives me the chills and all the hairs my neck stand up. I would play this on halloween to freak out kids who walk up to your door.
@Resil27021 I suppose you right Illidan wasn't the most challenging entity for my guild that would be Reliquary due to the mechanics Illidan was hard but if you compare him to LK then they're about the same on difficulty.
@Resil27021 Obviously you've never did Reliquary if you think ICC is harder or even comparable to BT... BT was the third hardest raid to ever be released, the only ones who succeded it was Naxxaramas 40m and the infamous Sunwell Plateau. There should be no doubt that BC had the hardest raids mechanic wise... PreBC had frustrating raids but that wasnt necessarily due to mechanics... It was due to having to lead 40 people in the right direction Plus Black Temple didn't have Lootship.
There are three types of people in WoW: the ones who hate Wrath with a passion and adore BC, the ones who wish it was vanilla, and the ones who just dont care and play the game. Oh wait there's something else: There is no Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King without World of Warcraft. They are under one umbrella. They may be "expansions" but in fact they are all World of Warcaft.
hmmm hard to choose :p loved vanilla, really enjoyed tbc, wrath wasn't bad either although they could have made it a bit more challenging than the tank 'n AoE spank level of gameplay, but northrend was a nice place to be, and the content (music,storyline towards endgame stuff) was very good. but i have to agree to a certain degree on the cata hate.. the begin was interesting, but once they began reusing old content and nerfing everything it went downward. the world died out xcept org/sw
I loved bc raids, and I loved the story of lk, but fuck cata, and everything about it. I really hope blizz opens their damn eyes in mop. oh, and... I won't be far.
@Mydtys Oh, you wouldn't, your nostalgic sensor is tickling you know. A year of ICC was waaaay more than enough, ToC was simply horrible in every aspect, you could clear Naxx in Sunwell gear, OS and EoE were fine, but still only single boss raids. Ulduar was great. From 3.2 and on Wrath was ruined, Cataclysm was better until 4.3.
bah...WOTLK content is a bit imbalanced with the gear it offers...wtb buffs for the instances so WOW players can actually start using their brains in instances!

wow imagine how old I feel thinking 'Yeah, those were the good old days!' and seeing this comment was from 11 fucking years ago...
poor illidan all he did was sacrifice himself to gain the power to defeat the enemies of his people and the world and what does he get for it? he gets banished, betrayed, imprisoned, and killed
This song is so epic it can't be disliked.

- (Illidan) Mag'theridon lures scores of hapless demons trough them daily.
- (Kael'thas) Them we must seal them, permanently.

2:00 , absolutely amazing
"Be careful what you wish for..."~Reliquary of souls phase two
@Shaeam True, our guild would wipe a few times on that, when trying to clear the second tier of the instance... But great times were had

0:00 come then to me heroes! come with all your power and glory! for in the final hour... all must serve...the one...true... 0:48 king!
The Black Temple was the only 25 raid in TBC that wasnt a pain in the ass
This music can also play in the Illidan encounter. Before he flies up that is.
Man ROS was Pretty hard bak in BC i remember all the wipes we had ugh but yea hes ezy once u get him first few times but tbh 1 of my fav bosses in BT =)

@1217ryszka What a great idea! I hope you don't mind if I do the same thing too. :)

Ulduar ftw!

Aww yeah
I loved TBC the most, Deal with it.
Illidan has always been my favorite character, followed by Kael (Hes so awesome) and Arthas (Paladin arthas in Wc3, not the Lich King)
@MrKaggles And thats even if the gear dropped to begin with.
@Resil27021 I suppose you right
Illidan wasn't the most challenging entity for my guild that would be Reliquary due to the mechanics Illidan was hard but if you compare him to LK then they're about the same on difficulty.
BEWARE, I LIVE
You can have anything you desire =) For a price.
Why won't this loading screen go away? D:
@TrickKae i agree

@kimflodin they do?
@Spectacular66 Still Reliquary was a even more hectic one imo.

God I'd hate to know what you must be feeling today about Mists.
@TrickKae, faction champs
@TrickKae Cata reintroduced that at the start, but fucked it up again by 4.3....
Ilidan fight was so epic, LK fight was fucking fail
@TrickKae i wish WOTLK was still live... fuck cataclysm, it ruined everything.
meaning Im getting sick and tired of people dividing World of Warcraft by it's expansions and ultimately becoming consumed by nostalgia.
whan i fought him it wasnt hard, just took abit of time to down him, like 5-10 mins, possably 15
@Mydtys Oh, you wouldn't, your nostalgic sensor is tickling you know. I'm playing on a free wowbc server
Where is it ?
star wars?
