I don’t use a car ramp or jack because my driveway slopes. So parking in the garage such that the rear protrudes over the beginning of the slope allows enough space to work.
great video! if i would make a humble suggestion to get wheel chocks from harbor freight, they are pretty cheap.oh and run some oil around the filter ring to seal it.
Excellent tutorial, Descriptive, informative and well done! Maybe your next video could show your audience how to replace the cabin filter and air filter? Just a thought from a fellow 2008 911S owner
It really is easy. I don’t fill the canister half full or pull the fuses. In fact, I’ve added a spin on oil filter adapter, so now I just use a spin on filter. I use an oil pan the is basically a jug with a removable drain so once the oil drains, you replace the drain and it’s a jug. So no pouring until you get to AutoZone, O’Reilly’s or wherever you recycle your oil.
Thank you @K1dPhresh1. I think pulling the fuse is probably overkill. I didn't know you could replace it with spin on filter. Great idea. Yes, was thinking of one of those drip pans too. I was wondering how that type handles the initial splash but that is probably something any solution has. Thanks for the comment!
@@Kirbys911Heaven LN Engineering offers the spins on filter adapter. I got a cheap drain pan/jug from Auto Zone or wherever. It splashes too but I keep a few big Amazon boxes in the garage to throw down when I change my oil and toss them when I’m done.
I don't use car ramps, you should use a standard low profile jack and axel stands. You will be surprised how much oil stays in the car if you don't level it again after the main oil drainage.
@@Kirbys911Heaven If you're not strapped for cash I highly recommend getting yourself a Quickjack lift. They're around $1500 but you will use it all the time to even clean/wax your car at waist height. You can also remove your wheels and clean them on the inside on a regular basis. Get the TL because the TLX doesn't fit under the 911. The TL version will also fit under the E46 but if you have a 5 or 7 series (E39 / E38) then you will need the longer version (TLX). If you get a TL version then you can buy an extender insert plate to make it work with the 5-series. I have two of them. Best tool I have. I use it every day. /John
@@johnwoolfrey5093 Wow, I just looked up the Quickjack lift and that does look like the ultimate way to do it. Thanks for the tip. I have to wait on additional car related purchases but that is a great idea for on-going maintenance. Thanks for your comment.
The grunting gives it character!😊
Excellent video. Great that you mentioned to half fill the filter housing. But…..you left out the final step…resetting the oil service interval lamp.

That sounds perfect. Thank you for the comment.

Well that IS a great idea. Let me figure out where that is first and I may just do a video. Thanks fellow 911S owner @firstson6626!

Great point. I may buy a second set of ramps to get the car level. Thanks for the comment!

Wow - 4k views!
Yes, and over 500 subscribers. I'm in the big leagues now. ;)
Video could def use some music over hearing your grunting.
Oh but then you would have no idea how hard I worked at changing the oil. Lots of grunts.
Your car deserves better quality oil than this crappy Mobil 1
I'm sure it does.
Let me know what you recommend.
