Hi Sheila , Im a beginner teaching my self to knit so glad i came across you as your such a good wee teacher you explain thing in a way that's its easy to understand thank you so much
Morning Sheila I have written the pattern down it’s a lovely blanket . Another good tutorial lol you will no doubt be getting orders for blankets you could knit them for your shop . I think Dagra would purchase. Have a lovely day good luck at bingo tonight lolSandra xx
Thank you for this easy pattern. I am now going to make my grand baby a blanket & sweater doing this stitch. Thank you also for explaining everything and making it very simple to follow.
I actually knitting a baby cardigan at the moment in that stitch- and it’s lovely- lovely and flat not curling at the edges or any thing - lovely to listen to you and you knit the way I knit and was thought to knit thank you ❤️
That's my brother Eddie and his wife Elsie having seeing them for a while they were away so in love hope you are kipping well great to see you on the video lots of love Betty xx❤
Thank you Sheila ji. 👍Im from India. I've been knitting before, but have not done so for several years. This blanket is just perfect to start knitting again, esp so, because I will be a granny in a few months time.☺ ❤
Thank you for sharing this pattern Sheila, I have written it down. I will be knitting a baby blanket once I have decided how many stitches to cast on for a pram size in chunky wool.
Hello Sheila the blanket this lovely I did that on my cardigan a woman at work asked what pattern I would do on a blanket last week so I told her this take care
Hello my grandaughter loves your blanket and wants me to make one for her baby. You mentioned garter stitch I didn't catch the name of the main stitch. Please can you tell us. Thank you
Hi could you tell me How many balls and what size needles do I need with Double Knit Wool LOVE YOUR TUTORIALS SHIELA Just learnt to knit during covid Absolutely loving it Thankyou I am Originally from The Northeast Liveing in Staffordshire now but never forget your Roots love to here you talk ❤
Thank you for this pattern tutorial. Your instructions make this very easy to follow along and I can wait to give it a try. One question if I may, when binding off I get a little confused... Do I knit all 6 of the border then and then knit a bind off row? Or bind off as I knit the 6th row of the border? Thank you in advance for any guidance!
Thank you for the pattern tutorial. I’m new to knitting and love the design. I’ve just knitted a triangular blanket and increased to 230 stitches and then decrease to 5 stitches and casted off. Is there anyway you can do this with this pattern?
I am not sure if you could do that with this pattern Julie as it has a garter border, you would have to start it with the garter stitch and when you have done enough you would add the double moss stitch, you could try a few rows and see how it comes out..
Hello Sheila - I loved your tutorial. I am a transplant from West Yorkshire to California. I am wondering do I make this with 2 strands as you mentioned or if is it okay to do one strand since it is quite warm here most of the time. Maybe it won't look as good?
Im new to knitting, but I think this looks so easy. What if you want to make it bigger, so it isn't for a baby? The pattern is just the same, I would just need to cast on more than 92 sts correct?
@@sheilassocrafty I have circular needles size 8 that are 32 inches. My yarn is a 4 mediumweight. I like the size of the blanket in your video. Do you think I need to cast on more stitches? Thank you. Barb
The sample i did Suanna was just 1 strand of DK, but the actual blanket was knit with 2 strands of DK and the instructions are in the description box under the video that will tell you all you need to know..
Hello, on the tutorial you start the pattern repeat with P2, K2… for rows 1 & 2….. in the pattern in description box it’s K2, P2 for rows 1 & 2…. Does it make any difference which way round you start the pattern as long as your doing the total of 4 rows pattern repeat please? Erica x
When knitting flat (not in the round), if you knit every row, that's garter stitch. If you knit one row and then pearl on the next, that creates the stockinette stitch. But stockinette stitch can curl on the edges. So the garter stitch is a good choice because it's easy and it doesn't curl.
Hello again sorry but confused, you do p then knit on the first row and then k on second row, but pattern listed has k first row and p second I'm confused and new at this, please help
I made it 26x30 if using DK you would probably need 11 sts every 2 ins around 150 sts but do a swatch first that will tell you how many sts you would need 🤗
Blanket Instructions for anyone interested 30"x 26" Using 7mm needles and 2 strands of DK Yarn knitted together or chunky yarn.. i had 4 100grm balls and still had 100 grms left when finished.. Cast on 92 sts.. I used the Cable Cast on Method.. Knit in Garter st for 6 rows.. 1st & 2nd patt rows, K3, [K2, p2] repeat sts in brackets to last 3 sts K3.. 3rd & 4th patt rows, K3, [p2, K2,] repeat sts in brackets to last 3 sts K3.. Knit in patt till blanket measures 29".. Knit in Garter st for 5 rows then cast off these sts in K1 P1 makes a neater Edge.. weave in any loose ends.. the unstructions are under the video Kath but i have copied and pasted for you..
Thanks Sheila. So easily explained and lovely to listen to you as my mum taught me to knit more than 60yrs ago and she was from the North East. X
SHEILA can you please show us how to knite a baby blanket. Thank you for all your lovely patterns. Bye.

You knit 5 rows in garter stitch, the 6th row is the bind off row..

Hi Sheila, just wondering when you cast on using the cable cast on method do you use 2 strands? Thanks 🌻
If i am using 2 strands for the knitting i cast on with 2 strands..
How much wool do cotton for baby blanket please
Hello Sheila - I loved your tutorial. I am a transplant from West Yorkshire to California. I am wondering do I make this with 2 strands as you mentioned or if is it okay to do one strand since it is quite warm here most of the time. Maybe it won't look as good?
if you use 1 strand of DK Anne it will have to be knit on smaller needles so would come out smaller ..
Look very nice 👍 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍
So,beautiful ❤❤
Pretty
Im new to knitting, but I think this looks so easy. What if you want to make it bigger, so it isn't for a baby? The pattern is just the same, I would just need to cast on more than 92 sts correct?
cast on as many as you like Jenni even numbers..
Can i use Size 5mm Needles and how many Stitches do i put on for 70 by 70 cm Please Sheila x
I just love this pattern. I have 10 inch size 7 needles. Would they be long enough for this pattern?
10 ins definitely not long enough Barbara i used 14in needles and the sts were squashed up

Hello I'm new in knitting, question can I use an 8mm needle don't have a 7. thank you for your vids and time
Yes you can use 8mm, i will be using 8mm next blanket i make..🤗
Think this would look lovely in 4 plu which l havd not sure how many stitches l would cast on x
A lot more sts Elaine, work on about 6 and a half sts to 1inch so for 26ins you would need about 170 sts best to do a swatch first though
@@sheilassocrafty mamy thanks l have four 100 gram balls of wool
How many balls.of wool did you use for the full size blanket? Thank you
the full size blanket i knitted with 2 strands of DK together, had 4 100 grm balls and nearly 100 grm left afterwards
Also useing just single strand of double knit on size 5mm Needles HOW MANY STITCHES FOR 70 by 70 CM PLEASE
Lovely! Planning to give this a try.I have an 8 ply acrylic yarn. How many stitches do I need to cast on?

It doesn't make any difference Erica pattern still comes out the same..🤗
Thank you Sheila 😁 Erica x
where did you buy the needels please i like them and what yarn are you using xxxxx
The knitpro zing needles i bought from Lovecraft can't remember what wool i was using might have been Patons Fab DK..
Thank you Sheila. Sorry to ask but I am new to knitting but can I use knit instead of garter because I don't know what garter is lol
Garter is every stitch knit on every row Kath
When knitting flat (not in the round), if you knit every row, that's garter stitch. If you knit one row and then pearl on the next, that creates the stockinette stitch. But stockinette stitch can curl on the edges. So the garter stitch is a good choice because it's easy and it doesn't curl.
I have just bought some wool to knit it
Hi Sheila how many stitches did you have on your needles to show us the pattern please .
92 sts..
Thank you x
Thank you! 😊🧶
Hello again sorry but confused, you do p then knit on the first row and then k on second row, but pattern listed has k first row and p second I'm confused and new at this, please help
It was probably the row i was onto when i did the tutorial, it doesn't matter whether you start with knit or purl as long as you do 2 rows of each.
Lovely how big did you make this and how many stitches would you need to make it in dk please many thanks x
I made it 26x30 if using DK you would probably need 11 sts every 2 ins around 150 sts but do a swatch first that will tell you how many sts you would need 🤗
