- Meet Arthur! A snuggly knitted blanket with a clean and modern grid pattern created using just knit and purl stitches. I think I've definitely found my favourite type of knitted blanket as these illusion blankets bring me so much joy to knit. I hope you enjoy knitting them as much as I do :-)

Hi snufflebean I’ve been knitting most of my life but fancied doing a blanket couldn’t make my mind up what to do. I watched your Arthur tutorial. Can I just say I think you are a wonderful teacher you are very clear and precise and you don’t talk down at all you are just so clear.
So very comprehensively shown. Thank you.
I've been in a knitting rut for the last few years, and in those years my yarn stash has been growing exponentially. I'm so happy I found your video and this channel, this seems like a very pleasant, rhythmic blanket to ease myself back into fibrework. Thank you for your clear, concise directions!
I love Arthur and totally agree ❤ knitting is therapeutic and should bring you joy😊the smaller size would make nice dinner placemats .

I’m sorry for your loss, it sounds like he lived a long and wonderful life 🥰🥰🥰
You have so many lovely paterns - I'm torn btw a few for next blanket

Thanks for the explanation it’s pretty blanket😅I will be able to make
Thank you!
Thank you for another easy and beautiful pattern. ❤
I was nervous when I heard 16-row repeat, but I should know that there would be easy rows included in that number. 😉
Yep! I’m never going to hit you with a super complex repeat, longer ones yep - but with easy rows thrown in. 🥰
♥️😍
Thank you 🙌🧶
It’s a pleasure! 😍🧶
Hi I’m making this baby blanket I Love how is coming
Thank you so much 🙌
You’re welcome! Happy knitting! 😀🧶
Lovely
Thank you 🥰
Would this baby blanket fit a cot
I love the Artur blanket and your interesting knit technique! I would love to knit a regular sized throw rug using this pattern. As a non knitter how would I size this up? Thank you for a very interesting and thorough video.
The written pattern has instructions on how to make it wider :)
Dear, this is amazing. I am an absolute beginner and trying to follow and understand your step-by-step. Why is it that your pattern starts on the wrong side? PLEASE let me know! I am about to start the pattern but I am on the right side. I made a bit of an adaptation of the model to introduce a second color. That is why the wrong and the right sides will look very different. Can I start it on the right side?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
The pattern appears on the side of even numbered rows, so the first row always has to be a wrong side row
Beautiful blanket, thank you. Are you knitting Norwegian style?
I knit continental with a Norwegian purl. My mum is from Finland and I learnt from her 🙂
great project! what would my stich count be if i wanted to turn this into a wash cloth?
It depends on the yarn and your tension, if you use the pattern multiple then you can adjust the size to suit.
Could you please tell me what kind of yarn you're using? Thank you so much for this tutorial and free pattern ❤
I used Stylecraft Bambino, I can’t remember the exact shade name off the top of my head.
@@SnufflebeanYarn thank you for answering!!
It’s a pleasure! I would say I chose this yarn because it photographs well (stitch definition etc) but don’t feel tied to using it, any dk yarn will do 😀
Ambia
Can you knit this pattern with 4.5 mm needles and appropriate size yarn. And can you knit it with cotton yarn? Thank you!
Yes absolutely! You might just need to adjust your stitch count if you still want the same size blanket. 😀🧶
What size needles are you working with
I work with 4mm needles and double knit yarn 😊
Instead of circular needles, can i use normal straight needles?
They probably won’t be long enough to accommodate the stitches but you could try?
Thank you 😊
I want to knit this blanket for my friends baby and want it to grow with them so as a beginner could you explain how to size this up to roughly 80x100 instead of 80x60 please 🙏🏼
You just use the pattern multiple I describe in the introduction and add more stitches to your cast on, you will also need to work more repeats of the pattern to make it longer 🙂
@@SnufflebeanYarn okay thank you I will try figuring it out ☺️
@@SnufflebeanYarnI’m sorry if I’m bugging you but could you explain what the 8+4 means please? Is it 8 stitches for the border and each square is 4 stitches so I want to add more to my cast on in multiples of four?
@ChristinaHoughton the border is completely separate from the pattern multiple I explain, you’ll cast on 18 stitches for the border and then the middle textured panel is a multiple of 8+4. So you cast on in a multiple of 8, add on 4 stitches, and then add on your 18 for the border. Hope that helps.
@@SnufflebeanYarn ahhh I understand now thank you so much for answering I really appreciate it 😊

That's the most awkward way of purling I have ever seen.
How so?
