I have a new Bosch dishwasher and it cleans very well but the racks must be designed by people who never do any dishes. There's no place to put cereal or pasta bowls and if you have even a few, you can't fit anything dinner plates or anything else much on the bottom rack. and on the top rack, glasses and cups don't fit into the designated rows--it's a mess. Get some designers who try washing a variety of everyday dishes for a family of 3-4. My old Kitchenaid didn't wash as well as this but its racks were logical and useful.

We purchased our Bosch 300 series in 2020. It cleans so much better than our previous non-Bosch dishwasher. But...I really struggle, even two years later, with loading the darned thing. Perhaps it is because our dishes are stoneware and don't fit in the tines as well? The tines seem to be angled awkwardly and some are spaced too far apart and others too close together. We took the silverware third drawer out which helps, and we switched out our silverware caddy from the previous dishwasher which we like better. It is quiet. I love that plasticware can be put on any level without melting. And excellent cleaning!

Bought our Bosch in March of this year; one of the tines has rusted and broken off. Called Customer support and sent her a picture; she suggested it was my fault for loading the dishes "incorrectly", but did agree "this one time" to send out a new lower dish rack. To be clear, the customer service representative was very respectful and kind, so not complaining about her at all. It seems that what everyone is saying below is accurate... the tines on the right side are angled and very close together and not much fits there at all! It does clean well though.

We bought our 500 series a few months ago and it's done a pretty good job at cleaning. My peeve is the rack design, it's terrible. The middle rack left side is perfect for cups and mugs, but the second area over is so narrow nothing fits in there... it would be better to have two wide cup/mug racks. Also I find the lower rack area for plates is great but the angle of the holders near the door are a bit useless unless you have thin bowels. Anyway I'm sure there was a lot of research done for the design but I find the design in past dishwashers much much better.

Ya I am very unhappy with my Bosch on that loading part. It's very odd, everything is set as angle, so glass can cups won't hold right. My old Whirlpool was great for that, the spiles were long and would allow glass to hold right and not fall.

I just purchased a Bosch 800 and saw this vid originally linked on the Bosch home page. The vid actually is quite useful, even though I must have loaded at least 20 various dishwasher brands over time (my own or airbnbs). I mostly used logical thinking. It’s amazing though I am still picking up some things after decades. The dark blue times are movable… seems obvious once you know it. Put deep bowls sideways isn’t really a logical way of doing things. I’ll try it though.
At the end of the cycle my dishwasher is still full of water drops on the racks and in the door… so not exactly perfectly dry dishes. Some water adheres to plastic dishes and some coffee cups, no matter what angle I put them in. The door doesn’t want to stay open, I have to jam a rubber spoon between the door and the dishwasher so residual steam can escape when the cycle is done. (I’m mostly using the auto cycle). Dishes are super clean, no argument there.
About it being quiet… I’m mystified. It’s rated 42 dB, my previous Whirlpool, which came with our new house, was rated 50. I can hear the Bosh across the room. The Whirlpool was quieter.
I traded in my perfectly well functioning Whirlpool because it wasn’t quiet enough, and because it wasn’t drying my dishes very well. So did I just spend $1300 for a pretty looking dishwasher that matches my kitchen better, but has the same foibles my old one did?

Hi, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. Please know that your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with the appropriate teams for additional consideration. Your dishwasher is designed to dry using the PureDry® condensation drying system. This is an energy-efficient, closed-drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. This process works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cooler stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. To improve drying results, we recommend turning on the Intensive Drying feature. For any product-related inquiries or support, please contact Bosch Customer Care at 800-944-2904 for real-time assistance.

I bought 500 series a month ago. The middle rack is really problematic. Especially right hand side. Whoever designed the new cup shelf needs to be forced to use that shelf everyday until they will recognize how bad the design is. You can put the stem glasses only in every other slot, limiting it to 4 glasses. Unless they are narrow flute glasses, then you can put 6. The tines are not lined up with the notches for stem glasses which makes it actually impossible to use the shelves. I did not have this issue with previous dishwasher. Is there anyway I can order cup shelves like ones in the video?

Just got my first dishwasher and Bosch had such good review I decided on Bosch. I got the 500 series because of the door opening and it hopefully drying better. Turns out it is turned off when you get it and the dished dried perfect but I turned it on anyway lol. ONE THING in the book it says to put big things on right side like the cookie pan you have on left because of a vent there. Not sure if that is important but I had to read manual because never had dishwasher. Your manual is not as good as your dishwasher good thing you don't make manual because this one stinks. I had a Bosch dishwasher about 20 years ago, had to leave it when I moved. There was one feature that I don't see, maybe I missed it? The middle rack comes out completely and the water feed uses a spray head instead. I used it to wash very big and tall pots that would not fit with a middle rack inserted. Can I still do that with today's model? Which ones?

After 1 month with my Bosch SHEM3AY52N I wish I had my old Kenmore back. My bowls do not fit in the lower rack - the tines are too close together, often for my plates too. I can only fit about half as many dishes in the Bosch as I could in my old one. The silverware is covered with a dirty film even using the long cycle. Since I live alone, I used to run my dishwasher about every 5-6 days. That is impossible because it SMELLS MOLDY - even empty. Wiping down the interior walls and bailing out the sump after each load Shoud NOT be necessary! But it is! I thought Bosch made excellent products - this isn't even acceptable.😠
