  • In this video I review and go over the Casio G-Shock DW-5900. This is the start of a new series called Forgotten Gs where I go and look back through Casio’s older G-Shock models and review ones that I think are hidden masterpieces that are not mentioned enough for how special they are. I start with my favorite G-Shock watch design, the DW-5900. I talk about its overall design and how it connects to the classic GW-5000 square G-Shock. I called out some of the design DNA like the somewhat octagon shaped basil, the little fins next to all the 4 buttons. The strap that looks similar to the original one just beefed up. I talk about it being released in 1992 and it was the 1st G-Shock with the cyclops gauges on the dial. I go over it’s more feature packed 3465 Module with complications of world time GMT, Stop watch, timer, and alarms. I talk about the way it wears on the wrist and it’s overall build quality. Another part that shines is the unique dial design with a 90s cyberpunk Neo Tokyo cross grid design that has a blade runner and Top Gun vibe that is both retro and modern in design. Overall this blend of unique design touches, but classic G-Shock design languages makes this a legendary forgotten G that needs to be more widely known by Casio and G-Shock enthusiasts.

I collect Casio watches... I love the Casio G-Shock DW5900 SO MUCH... I bought one to wear and one to keep in "Brand new" condition.
    LONG LIVE CASIO

I’m planning on doing the exact same thing, might even buy 2 to keep if they discontinue it again. It’s really an awesome watch. All I wear is my DW5900 and DW6900 despite having 9 other G Shocks and an assortment of other watches.

@@ryangutierrez5354 I 100% Agree with you, I have 8 G-Shocks and 20+ other various watches... But the Casio G-Shock DW5900 is my favorite watch. It is built like a tank and ticks a lot of "Yes" boxes... It is the watch I wear the most.
The Casio G-Shock DW5900 is indeed a superb watch and looks really good when it is on your wrist, It is an absolute diamond..... Kind regards Brian

My favorites in this series are the Mix Tape, Facetasm and Wasted Youth. I hope to be getting one of those three soon.

Awsome review. This is my second favorite G Shock just a behind the DW 6900. Although I like them just about the same the DW 6900 just edges it out slightly for me! I can’t believe I fell in love with this watch so much, when I first saw it I was not impressed but once I bought it I just can’t stop wearing it. It looks so unique and original and looks powerful on the wrist. I don’t even wear my squares anymore LoL. I have 9 other G Shocks and all I wear is this and my DW6900. A lot of people talk trash about the “wasted space” used buy the second counters but I think it makes the watch almost like a living organism. It adds so much character. I would not change a single thing about this watch.
Glad to find another person who appreciates this watch as much as I do. This watch just speaks to me…. Other G Shocks are boring compared to this one!

Hi. I just discovered your channel :) I use a video LED light for charging my watches. It creates almost no heat and charges solar watches quickly.

Great video. Love the comparisons. GA 2100, love the back light. I like this 5900 though. Time window, does the size make it difficult for you to see?

No I don’t think it’s hard at all personally. Much easer then the window on the GA2100

Would u pls check your 5900 clasp if showing casio china or thailand? Mine is “thailand” on clasp and, as u show too, the back shows china made, which is a little thing makes me wonder

Mine is the same way, may be the clasp is used in 10 different G-Shocks so instead of having China make the same part, the just ship them from Thailand

Thank u. So do u mean your 5900 is equipped with a “casio thailand” clasp?

Yeah. Same Thailand clasp, made in China caseback
