I wish this new version had the mini analog hands on the left eye like the original version from the 90s.
Yeah, the old one was better in almost any aspect. We can figure the new one has better electronic and motherboard, but robbed in functionality.
Casio announced that vintage 5900 has case reinforced with glass fiber (this was first non-metal case G-Shock).
I have found those cheap white side protectors and back spacers in a gw7900 and a g7900.At least my dw5600 still has all the protection.
Nice video. On the yellow Casio DW-5900RS-9JF, is it possible to use it without the outer yellow shell? I think it looks better better with the matte inner case only
Is the thing u grabbed and pulled the module out with sole purpose to be something to grab and remove the modules? I'm new all this,but esp pulling apart vintage g shocks,cleaning them from top to bottom and either wearing them or selling them(I have yet to actual post one,but when I buy them I fully tell myself it's why I'm buying them). I always pull on that but get scared it's something important (like the lil spring I was told was part of the shock absorption but just found out was part of the "chirp"

Hey Shaz, this video just gave me an idea. I got the GW-S5600-1JF because for some reason the negative display version is very rare, but if I'm not mistaken, it uses the same module as the GW-M5610 and the negative display version of this watch isn't rare at all. Can I swap out the module between these two watches as easily as the two watches in this video?
Can I order parts from the new style to the old dw5900 casio, and if possible where? Need a new bezel and all

Which one is better.?
If the buttons are in a different placement,wouldn't the old module not line up with the buttons inside? When u depress the button it would push into the side of the module instead of the button pusher
holy you're right! It didn't cross my mind at the time to test the buttons afterwards even if the module fits the case. Thanks for pointing that out man. Guess it is not compatible now 🤦🏻♂️

Original part didn't exist anymore. You could find a custom made ones from vintage watch sellers / collectors on facebook groups.

@@gshockhighfashion do you think in general vintage Casio watches had superior quality over newer pieces under the same model line? I can see cushions on modern screw backs are not rubber and rather plastic etc etc.?
No count down timer on the newer version,WTF.
There is a count down timer. World time and back light. But those eyes are now for no real reason there. It is just the look not the functionality equal to the old one. But I would rather buy the new one for $70 than an heavily used old one for $250.
