========= Stalingrad LYRICS ==========
Fresh from Moscow
Over Volga came to comrades’ aid
City in despair
Almost crushed by the Führer’s army
Oh it’s colder than hell
Hitler’s forces advancing
The sound of the mortars
The music of death
A grand symphony
See your friends fall
Hear them pray to the god your country denies
Every man dies alone
And when your time comes you will know that it’s time
Stalin’s fortress on fire
Is this madness or hell
The sound of the mortars
The music of death
We’re playing the devil’s symphony
Our violins are guns conducted from hell
Oh Stalingrad!
Oh Mratnimiat!
Are you playing?
Do you follow the conductor’s lead?
No one knows you
No one cares about a single violin
Play the score of the damned
Know the devil within

Це не сама велика битва , на той час Вермахт був вже вимотаний , і ви забули про Африку, про битву за Харків , де СССР довго не міг захопити місто даже з великою кількістю військ .
The video is not entirely correct, but for dedicating the song to this topic, huge gratitude and appreciation. One of my grandfathers died in the battles of Stalingrad in 1942.
“My father was a musician in Stalingrad. During the German occupation, the sound of his violin filled the air with magnificent music - Korsakov, Stasov - many of great nationalist composers. To my countrymen, it was a symbol of hope. To the Germans, it was a symbol of defiance. Even now, his music still haunts me. The Nazis slit his throat while he slept.”

Stalingrad is one of Sabaton's most underappreciated songs they have made. The feels on this one is outstanding!!

Stalingrad, defended by communists, attacked by socialists. The song's quality; Not the best that Sabaton's done.
It's a joke. ;p
The line "our violins are guns, conducted from hell" (in fact many lines follow this pattern) reminds me of the fact that many lieutenants claimed that leading an army was like a symphony, where each instument has its part, in perfect timing.
Rock on Sabaton, these lines are like poetry🤘🤘🤘
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love the band, one things for sure, they will never run out of material!
@@WilOptinal-wz3mteven if they do, we can just make more material
If war is a symphony, urban war is like performing a 4 hour opera for an audience of 10. The german advances in the early days of barbarossa were counted in the miles, in stalingrad they were counted in houses. The battle itself was resolved outside of the city with the initial soviet encirclement and the failure for the germans to rescue the forces at stalingrad. While I never served myself, I could imagine few places a soldier would want to be less than in urban warfare with an equal foe.
I was last there about twenty years ago. I lived in the city for five months total (two months in the Red Army part of town, three in Center). I took an entire album worth of photos at Mamaev Kurgan (on film) and went to Panarama (the museum on the river) three times. The painting at the top of the museum is one of my favorite memories. As an American who knew more about the Battle of Stalingrad than all of my peers it was a surreal experience. I still consider some of the people I met there as dear friends and can't believe I was able to actually be there.
Want to hear some more of a surreal experience?
Trying to get "inside the frame" of those war time photos and tapes is of the same lot.
Watching them the way we used to - "for educational purposes" is one thing. But trying to rebuild it to see with your own eyes is completely different.
I can recall my visit to Brest Fortress during my school years. Those visits to museums are a part of our educational program. Museum's staff and historians did a great job at recovering as much material as they could. Basically, the whole defense process is known by a minute.
So, I had my electronic watch on the wrist.
" It's N a.m., time to retreat to barracks. We are here for N hours / N days. It's N p.m., this is the time for the N countercharge. N minutes have passed."
And then you see the old tapes not black-and-white, lacking some frames. You see it like memories of your own. All colored, with people running here and there, dying. Entering those events. That's quite an experience, if I may say so.
I’m happy to hear that! Come again, we will always be glad to see you :)
FINALLY THE STALINGRAD LYRICS!!
Probably the most underrated song by Sabaton. The lyrics and solos are simply phenomenal, but unfortunately it's not as recognized as it should be
It's a bit unpolished and the recording is a bit compressed. Would be cool if they rerecorded this, it's a surreal song.
Hello Sabaton! I am from Russia, I really adore your songs, I dream that you would make a song about the city of Voronezh, I think this song would be very cool and Voronezh residents would listen to it with pleasure! Your songs are cool guys! I wish you success:)❤

Thank you indeed for your support!
Finally an official lyric video for this absolute headbanger of a song.
I like how the symphony was chaotic, was wild and I am unsure if it was intentional to how that war goes but the the bridge part somewhat like it is the calm before the red storm (Operation Uranus). Everything about it was like it is putting you in the chaos of the largest battle, so you can feel the despair of the men damned in the city. Then the end end so abrupt, It was either you have died before you see the end of the suffering, or because of how abrupt did the battle ended.
We learning the price of a mile with this one 🗣🔥🔥🔥

There is an undeniably industrial feel about this song that plays into how Stalingrad, and in greater part WWII, was the industrialization of warfare first truly witnessed in WWI put forth onto a scale unseen before or since.
This doesn't have the grandiose of their other songs like Bismark, Red Baron, or To Hell and Back, it's very brutal and a constantly hammering feel with the riff.

GL? What does that mean?
This song makes me feel like im in the hatlle of Stalingrad cause of the intense drums and all the instruments playing and just i cant even explain it. Its like the intensity of the music its like the intensity of the battle tats why i like the song.
It's sad that the Allies and the US never opened a second front in 1942 and didn't help. they waited until the German machine began to lose and opened a second front only a couple of months before the end of the war in 1944, in order to prevent the Red Army from entering the whole of Europe until Lisbon. And millions of victims of Stalingrad, as well as the entire USSR, were at the hands of the Anglo-Saxons. who unleashed the Second World War in order to make the dollar a world currency.
Terribly misinformed. I could not tell you how much you've gotten wrong, Vatnik.
@@mobiletaskforceepsilon1172facted, kakel.
how exactly would they have done that?
Nothing about this post reflects reality at all. This is divorced from what actually happened.
@@mobiletaskforceepsilon1172 In the morning you see Vatnik in the mirror. The comrade is telling the truth. The United States helped the Soviet Union only with money; Russia (as the heir to the USSR) paid off debts under Lend-Lease until 2006. It is worth noting that delegations from the USSR traveled to the USA with a request to open a second front before 1944, but they were sent to hell. The United States entered the war only when it became clear that victory was for the USSR, and even then the United States entered the war only in order to gain a zone of influence in Europe. The only country that really helped the USSR, and did not profit from the people of the USSR, was Mongolia.

@@kevinramsey417 its pretty good
@@FartomicbombNot really
"Every man dies alone", "no one knows you, no one cares about a singe violin" and overall the whole song is about how soviet soilders have no will, don't know what they are fighting and dying for. This bullshit lyrics follows the naration from western movies and games that presents soviet and russian people as mindless zerglings rushing to their death.
In reality the ones that didn't care about violin zerglings were "the allies", who hadn't opened the second front until it would be the time to slice the german cake and to make sure France and Germany didn't break free from capitalism. The soviet people knew very well what they were fighting for and were caring for each other. They would have never won without heroism and comradery not mentioned in the song at all, even though it was probably the most heroic and toughest fight in the entire history rivaled only by the battle for Moscow.
The music however is rad and suits very well the dreadfulness of this battle.
I met them because of the anger about the Malvinas song and I can't stop listening to them, they are my forever favorite band
