The american reply was "Nuts" to the demand to surrender during the Battle of the Bulge. So, you got that right.

My grandpa was 101st and in Bastogne. Awesome that you guys made a song about this. He survived to be 92 years old. Even got to be interviewed in a newspaper in Washington state about it.

This is an amazing song! I have an uncle who served in the 101st Airborne but the Battle of Bastogne was before his time (he served during the later years of the Cold War). If I see him I will show him this song because he would enjoy a song about the most legendary battle his unit took part in and he loves rock-n-roll.

Little fun fact, during world war 2 paratrooper drops had a bad habbit of going bad, troops would land far awya from their squads, platoons, even divisions due to the wind, nazi flak, or the plain being shot dow nadnd men being scattered as it went down. Many of these troops would find one another, behind enemy lins nad form their own groups nad begin marching their way to allied lines.. many were cuaght but even more managed to fight through or simply slip through german lines to the allies. Gotta respect their adaptability and pure tenacity to keep going when most people would batten down and try to hold out for support
I've always underestimated this song and barely ever played it or paid any attention to it. Last week it played on HOI4 randomly and I almost fell off my chair. Now I love it haha.

My great grandfather was a paratrooper of the 101st airborne division. This is a great way to honor him and the others.
Nutz, is a great part of their story, but my favorite part of the story is how, when Patton's armored corps showed up, the airborne said "we had it all under control before you showed up." Supposedly, to this day, no veteran has ever admitted that they needed saving either. I can at least say that my Grandfather never admitted they needed help, may he rest in peace now.
Because if you look up some of the info they really didn’t need saving Germany’s whole plan of attack required tanks .That was the plan use their tanks to push the Americans out of Europe and force them to negotiate. But the 101st was smart the area they chose to use had terrain terrible for tanks they were constantly getting stuck. Theirs also the fact that the 101st wasn’t alone infantry units had joined the fight along with a tank destroyer division add in a artillery unit who disobeyed orders to withdraw and that battlefield became hell for those German tanks. In the end the tanks ran out of fuel and the Germans ended up having to use them as defensive barricades the battle had gone into a stalemate with German troops not sure what to do if Patton hadn’t shown up the 101st would’ve held out till the storm ended and the Air Force would’ve blasted everything to kingdom come which was the original plan and what happened in other parts of the battle Patton just sped things up

My great grandpa (whom I never met) was a ww2 soldier in the 330 infantry 83 division of the us army. They were known as the Thunderbolts. They relieved the 4th division in the Hurtgen forest battle and they also fought in the battle of the bulge. I never knew my great grandpa bc he died at 28 from lung cancer, but just knowing he fought in those wars to protect our country and our allies makes me respect him greatly. Love songs that remind us of history.

My Great Grandpa was actually apart of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment during the war, He fought during the bulge, Beautiful song, I didnt get to meet him but i did get to see his medals and such and pictures of him, It conveys perfectly what the Screaming Eagles were going through at the Battle of the Bulge

The Germans demanded their surrender, the 101st declined with their general simply saying “nuts”.
I'd say this is one of my favorite Sabaton songs... but then again pretty much all Sabaton songs are my favorite

Love this song in particular. It's a long time favorite of mine. I've heard faster songs, but none more relentless in their tempo. Listening feels like being bombarded by artillery fire. It really pulls you into the story being told.
