I am so happy i grew up in the 80s.
Me too.... EVERYTHING was better.
Me also!! Best decade to be a teenager.
I completely agree
Me too. I miss it so much.
I loved the eighties!!! It was the best time of my life!!!!❤❤❤❤....
Breakfast Club is one of those movies you can watch over and over again. It is timeless.
Yeah those were good days back then... I find these reunions really interesting. Geez, it's hard for kids these days.
It's far from timeless, it's very much tied to the 1980s but I know what you mean.
Oh for sure, no doubt I watched that movie 30+ times growing up. Every time I saw my older brother (who didn't live with me), he'd be like "wanna watch Breakfast Club?" Good times :)
Sixteen Candles is better.
@@tonymontana4284 no it isn't, this is considered more iconic cos its what's known as a bottle episode in TV where the whole movie takes place within the confines of one location over the course of one single day featuring characters representing five major social groups of both school society and in some ways society in general and the story arc of them beginning by having zero in common as they are forced to convene and finishing by them having bonded as friends in their own ways. It's a very simple story, very focused and straightforward with a clear story arc and hence it gets remembered the most. Sixteen Candles is a fairly generic teen romance drama more or less and thus less noteworthy.
RIP John Hughes- it’s been a loonnggg time since that a director/writer knew how to make movies about teenagers and their real feelings.
I know, that is true, I miss John Hughes, he was on a roll in the 80s.
PREACH Sparky!! I LOVED John Hughes films BECAUSE… Yes, they were basically “Young Adult” books that they made into movies instead of books. His movies DID NOT ASSUME the watcher was some idiot kid, but a YOUNG ADULT! That we were Adults in Training, still learning about life, how relationships work, the beginnings of REAL responsibilities to come and that we were THINKING and LEARNING part of society! And the movies coming out of Hollywood now are just GARBAGE! I miss John
Hughes and his stories…
I wish Emilio Estevez would get on board with these reunions.
The con did try very hard to get him.
@FandomSpotlite I believe it maybe one day just get him with Charlie and Martin like no reunion
@@FandomSpotliteis he a big jerk now? You can hire me and I'll stand in at the next con.
Is he a big snob for these reunions. So sad that he couldn’t go.
So I met Anthony about 15 years ago at a convention. He signed my 'Breakfast Club' DVD and I told him it's my dream to get it fully signed one day. He looked at me and said, "Well, how about four out of five?" I was like, "Huh?" and he asked, "Did you see the Oscars tribute to John Hughes? Did you notice ONE of us was NOT THERE?" It was then that I understood that I'd be lucky to get four of the five. I wish Emilio would get off his high horse, be a little more humble and appreciate his fans more.
RIP Paul Gleason "Don't mess with the bull young man, you'll get the horns!"
Oh God he always played the ass in everything!! Even in trading places

I LOVE John Cusack, but no one else could've played Bender like Judd Nelson.
I agree
Interesting you would bring that up but I think if there's an actor that could be a seamless substitute for each other, it would bet these two. It's arguable who had the bigger career as the laundry list of movies John has done aren't really high profile but he has worked more than Judd, either by choice or popularity in the course to public opinion.
R.I.P. Paul Gleason - he was the wildest teacher/villain in a teen movie. Great performance.
It was cool to see him reprise his role from the Breakfast Club in cameo for Not Another Teen Movie.
@@inelhuayocan_acianother classic.
@@inelhuayocan_aci I'd heard about that, but I didn't see it. I hope it's on Da Tube.
He was also great in Trading Places and Die Hard.
I went to this convention and was able to meet Anthony Michael Hall. Great guy and very nice to his fans.
That sounds like it a was great gathering!

Graduated high school in '85, what an awesome era to grow up in. Breakfast Club and Fast Times at Ridgemont High were my favorite 80's comedies. Happy to see all of these actors are still healthy and happy today. Too bad Emilio couldn't be there to complete the group.
I'm the same year 85. I loved growing up in the 70s and 80s and still being young enough to enjoy the 90s.
Me too!

Movie should be shown in every high school so kids can understand why students act the way they do
They won't do it because there's no DEI in it. 😆
You know what would be a cool movie Breakfast club ...... of there kids in this Time frame 2024 of there kids or there grandkids
yes it does , because I was the Aly of my high school . I am 62 and watching this movie made me realize that everyone has a story. I went to my 10 year reunion and only about 5 of the cheerleaders and Claire's attended. All the rest of us had a great time and without the stigma anymore.
What’s unique about The Breakfast Club is as a viewer you likely felt a direct connection to one character but you also connected in part to every single character.
I could personally relate to all of them except Molly Ringwalds character. I knew people in high school that were like her so I could relate to all.
Yes, that was my biggest takeaway I think because you at least knew each of those characters or encountered them in school! It was a brilliant film about each stereotype as being venerable when confronted with the truth!
Much to my surprise, I felt a deep connection to the Claire character. After many years of agonizing, I’m proud to say I’m now fully transitioned and changed my name from Clarence to Claire. I’m just totally living my best life! Thank you Molly Ringwald!
John Hughes was such a genius, truly one of the all-time great comedy writer/directors, if not the greatest. He wrote and directed The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes Trains and Automobiles, and Uncle Buck, to name a few. He wrote National Lampoon's Vacation. He wrote Home Alone. The list goes on and on. I have left out several of his hits. It's such a shame he died so young. He was only 59 when he died of a heart attack.
In 2009 is when he died.
Sixteen Candles
Anthony was hilarious and Judd has a fantastic memory!
And Emilio was in a different dimension, but still there in spirit.
Yeah I tried asking Ally and Michael about what song they shot the dancer number to. They didn't remember but Judd did. He said it was One Step Behind by Madness.

"You see us how you want to see us" is the quote that helped me as a young man not care about other's opinions. You can do whatever in your power to convince others of who you are but at the end of the day people will see you how they want to see you. Therefore don't bother trying to convince anyone, just be you and live your life to the fullest!
I remember that last line, but you know I never really payed that close attention to it! It is a great line!
“A jock, a criminal, a basket case, a princess (or was it Prom Queen?), and a brain!”
I’ve seen the movie several times and that line is amazing, but I just watched it again about a week ago and I really listened to that line again as an older adult now it has even more meaning now!
Watching this movie will immediately transport you back to the wonderful 80’s ,especially if your gen x..this was our time…Love all John Hughes movies ,classics
I was there!
Judd was amazing to meet!!!
I really like JN, and always followed his career. He's a unique type, and has his own gifts.
That’s great! I’ll bet it was a fun event!
I just rewatched The Breakfast Club last month!!! almost 40 years later, and they still have the same energy!!!
They were teenagers at the time.

As a born and raised Chicagoan only a few years younger than these folks.. this was amazing. We lost John way too soon. I would love to have seen more of his work. RIP Mr .Hughes

Breakfast Club is my favorite movie of all time. Seeing these actors middle age, as I am now approaching middle age, brings back a part of my identity that I tend to forget because life gets boring and stressful, etc. It’s a snapshot of youth that we all need to remember from time to time. Life then wasn’t easy either but youth is this tremendous gift 🎁 Honestly, if this movie was always on at “the home,” I would sit and watch every showing with my knitting! 💫
Middle Age? What...? are they going to live to be over 100? Judd Nelson is a Sr Citizen lol

80's rocked❤Molly Ringwald keeps Interrupting Judd Nelson and correcting him. Thank God for Anthony Michael Hall for comedy relief.
There's definitely a little Claire in Molly Ringwald 😅 Shelley was very much like her character. She's kind of quiet. I was hoping she'd speak more.
Ally, not Shelley
My thoughts exactly
A perfect movie. One of the few just flawless movies. Hughes is a genius and everyone in the cast was perfection. Forever a classic
I remembered growing up that not knowing the punchline to John Benders joke used to naw at me every time I would watch the movie!
So thankful to have been a teen entirely throughout the 80’s…because we were the last decade without cell phones!!!
Payphones, house phones were the 80s.
I was born in 1983. I was lucky enough to make it all the way through highschool without a cellphone. Although they were in existence, none of us had them. They weren't widespread yet. None of us grew up with them. I am so grateful for that.
As far as "The Breakfast Club" is concerned, My mom showed it to me when I was 15, and has always been a favorite in our family.❤
This movie became a ritual amongst my friends and I. Every Saturday night after the bar closed, we would head over to a buddy's house, continue to drink and watch this movie. We watched so often we all knew all the lines and would recite them while watching. To change things up, we decided to have each of us draw a character name from a hat and we would act out that character. Yes we were idiots, but we had fun.

I thought he was so funny as a child actor, I use to wonder why he didn’t do more comedies as an adult, and I get it that actors may not want to be type cast, but he was so funny in those days!
I wanted to hear more from Ally Sheedy. Her role started an entire genre of style that can still be seen in today’s generation.

Breakfast club is the one movie that I related to the most as a teenager now every single one of John Hughes movies is iconic completely iconic and I grew up with all of them and I am so grateful I drop in that era and that timeframe because it related to me so much I related to Allison‘s character Ali she was my favorite character and I love Molly. Ringwald don’t get me wrong. I love all the characters, but I related to Ali‘s character the most because of how I felt inside I was like Nerdy sort of introverted artist too. I could act my ass off, but I felt like her character most of the time! And just to make a point, she did not put her dandruff on her. Cap’n Crunch. She put her dandruff on her drawing, and she put pixie sticks on her Cap’n Crunch and then put the bread back on and took a bite. He should notice he was in the movie, but I could tell you just about every single line almost every character in that movie and I just want to stage them. I’m sure they probably won’t see this but I want to thank all of them for every single movie that they made in 80s because they made my teenagers amazing so I want to say thank you for being such awesome actors and for making my life the way it was back and I’m 50 years old and I have to tell you that my kids love every single one of the movies every single one 16 candles the breakfast club Saint Elmo Saint Elmo‘s Fire, Johnny be good weird science and they’re so many more movies that made my life awesome so if they get to see this, please tell him that he made that mistake but tell him how much I love them. That was really fun to watch. We're celebrating our 40th highschool reunion this fall so we're all pretty big fans of this movie. I loved that movie!!!!! I ran into Judd Nelson at The Aurora Mall (Aurora Colorado) just after Saint Elmo's Fire... Weird right? He was HUGE and here he is walking through a mall with someone else (security guard maybe?)....I said to him "You're Judd Nelson!" and he responded "Well yes I am...." and that was it! We smiled and went on our way. No phones then, but I'll never forget this mega movie star walking through the mall.
Wow that should be exciting!

I really don’t understand why people are so bitter about Emilio’s absence. The man is done with all this stuff. He’s retired and he’s walked away. He’s earned it. He gave back then and now he’s done. He doesn’t owe anything to anyone. Im sure it doesn’t mean he hates his past but it is the past and he’s content to leave it there.

Time flies like crazy, and seeing Anthony Michael Hall looking so different from the fresh young kid he was in BC, then Judd Nelson without his locks and totally unrecognizable... They drastically changed, in comparison to most people (who age and change a little bit)..... But here, it's crazy.
What surprises me is that Judd is clearly smaller than Anthony in width and length - I thought Anthony grew up to match Judd's big build. It doesn't look like Anthony has gotten bigger, it looks like Judd has shrunk - But that can't be possible, right?...
Kudos to these fabulous actors who look surprisingly different from their teens and twenties yet haven't nipped and tucked every little thing (or gotten hair plugs).
