His wife looks taller than him and she said " Level Up" hahaha..that's funny,, well at least we know she listens to Hiphop music..lol😎😎
But where will I get the wall? Mine are all taken up.
I have an awkward walk in closet in my bedroom, that is pretty useless as it is, but on the other side of it is my kitchen and would work pretty good as a walk in pantry, would it be a bad idea to turn it into a pantry? My room has a lot of space to create a custom built in wardrobe for clothes, so clothes storage wouldn't be an issue
Also my kitchen is pretty small and doesn't have very much storage.
Mrs T seems like the epitome of happy wife happy life 😊 Well done Jeff 😇
nothing but the best I can give for my Lady!
Better yet. Happy spouse happy house.
"I know my ceiling is level because I built it" - Hah, who does he think he is? Oh, right, it's Jeff, so of course it's going to be level.
"Somebody needs to be shot" I'm happy even the professionals get frustrated, not just the amateurs.
Brafasco on Merivale? Damn, that's a hike from Ottawa South. I have to say these videos have helped me improve my quality of life and made my jobs look 73% less Ottawa Valley hillbilly. Thanks Jeff.
I thought I was watching Bob Ross when Jeff was putting that oil on the butcher board 😂
Jeff reminds me of Red Green (voice & accent) but so much more useful content. Loving all these videos and learning a lot about how to do all this as I need to rehab my house over the next couple of years.
Makes me feel good that just like me, a try hard weekend DIY warrior, Jeff has to make multiple trips to the hardware store to finish a project.
Well said!
Nice to finally meet your lovely wife! I have watched your videos for weeks and it's the first time I had opportunity to see her :) I hope she's happy with the add-on 👍
Love's it! Cheers!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY Another job well done 👍 I'm feeling there will be something special served for dinner in return ;p
For covering non-trivial areas with Osmo's oil-wax products I love their microfleece pads that attach with hook-and-loop to a handle. So much quicker than a rag or a brush.
I love watching your videos. You have great tricks as you go along. I want to share one of mine with you:
The way I hang wall cabinets, I run a 2x2 level across the wall where the bottom of the cabinet boxes will be. This is for the cabinet boxes to sit on one at a time. It holds the "weight" while I get the boxes mounted. Once mounted, I remove the 2x2, touch up the screw holes with a bit of dry wall mud. Wahla!
You're the only youtuber that I click like! even before I watch the video because I know is gonna be good. ✌
Glad to see you made your wife do some of the work. I like the barn door look!
Jeez, putting up that barn door was like building a house. You and your wife make an excellent team!
i love how Jeff's wife is as bubbly as him
Draws a squiggly line and says that's close enough! LoL you crack me up bud
Hey Jeff, super vid. Yes I too love using Osmo finishes on our butcher block counters. I used flat Matt finish...it's soooo beautiful. Look fwd to next one.
As an amateur, I'd rather stain the butcher block first before I install it.
When renovision man meets the works with the wife. Best chemistry ever! No don't touch my stuff wifey. Puts the gun away and hides all power tools.
Good to see the team work!
You and your wife work great together!
Thanks 👍
„Ja. Das ist gut!“🤣. Like your skills and working attitude. Greetings from Germany 👋.
“…But you don’t get to see it until the end of the video” *wink*. Good sir you ARE a tease! Liked! Subscribed!
Putting the reality in Reality Renovision, loving it!
You can see his jaw clenching, and you KNOW he's trying not to cuss and mess up his channel! Hahaha.
@@PatrickKQ4HBD how much hair did Jeff loose when doing this...
I’m not handy, but I can’t resist this channel. We hope to build someday?
Wow I can get that exact wallpaper in the UK. Its the first product I have seen you use that I can actually buy, so I bought 3 rolls for my kitchen 😁👍
That's awesome!
No IKEA?
@@TrishDigginsDesign Fair enough lol. There are things I can buy in the UK, like Ikea etc, I'm more on about building materials, mud, screws, fixings etc. We have equivalents like Gyproc 60, just not the exact items used in most of the videos.
Lol it's so cheesy, I can't wait for this trend to end. That and the little boards with messages like "Live Laugh Love".
@@Ogilla Yes I don't go for the motivational messages etc, unless they are personalised. The wallpaper though, my misses loves it. And lets face it, She's the boss 😁
Love all the pro tips in your videos. Burning to prevent splitting, eggshell paint vs flat for wallpaper, etc. Many thanks!
OMG perfect showing me how to us a second set of hands. I had to be creative when I was putting together my treadmill by myself so this advice is perfect for the cabinets
Every time I watch this channel I become out of patience to flipp my first home
Hello - I love your ideas and tutorials! I also have an old wood house and have uneven flooring. Currently with carpet. I would love to replace with actual flooring . Could you advise me of your experience with this and how I could accomplish that? I see that you have really nice floors, did you have to level the floor first ?
Thank you for the confidence and knowledge to redo my newly bought home.
You can do it!
these videos have been invaluable for my new home as well!!
I love that you left the problems in.
Hey Jeff, I have a steel framed house, what kind of hardware or tricks do I need to know for hanging these? Thanks for all your help!
Hey Man, been away for a bit but, still great to watch your videos Bud!! Always keeping it real with your projects & I love it!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
Thanks for leaving in the bits about needing to go the hardware store and struggling with getting bits out of the packaging. It's comforting to know even pros struggle with that crap
I installed about a dozen Barn doors this year. They're getting really popular. I set up 2 saw horses and I work out and pre drill all the holes in the board to install the bar. Then, after working out the height, I install the board, screwing it in the studs, and then I install the bar in the pre drilled holes. There are many kinds of kits, some are all pre drilled and some are not. One kit, the bar had 5 pieces, it would be hard to install straight to the wall, the 2 saw horses saved the day on that one. BTW, I pre drilled the holes smaller so they would hold....the board can hold the weight when it's fastened to the studs.
I love barn doors. They certainly have a time and place though and a pantry door is perfect imo
If you were my mentor 20 years ago I'd be rich and still working
Sounds like excuses for being unemployed.

You can also hot blue a steel bolt, but boy is that a pain . Works great in a pinch.
This is something I was hoping to find on here someday soon
I think the wife hid the screws as she fancies her sexy builder...
Did you get the butcher block (that you used as counter) at Ikea, too, or did you make it yourself? And what wood was used to make it?
You should definitely make more videos with your wife!!! I really enjoyed the synergy between you, guys!!! 💜
Thanks Jeff. We will be installing a sliding door to the main bedroom so thanks for the tips
Good luck!
Great advice to come back the next day when you can't find something. I was on clean up that day, so naturally my husband thought I had thrown it away. It would've saved me sending my 8 year old grandson dumpster diving. :) We later found the entire box and faucet assembly in an empty kitchen drawer.
Love that!
Great video. Im learning a lot from you. I just finished my drywall in my basement and followed your drywall videos... thank you so much for all the info. Btw where can I get a door like this?
costco purchase. cheers!
Just joined as a member, Love the channel. It has helped me so much as someone fairly new to the trade
Helpful to translate to my want to modify thy laundry room. Thank you!
Nice video Jeff. Good looking door.
Can you please do a stairs renovation from carpet to wood. Lots of videos out there but you make things easier and professional.
man you got to love this guy that was a for sure honest review of this product
Only thing I saw i have concerns with is that butcher block tells you in the packaging to seal with mineral oil on all surfaces. Top, bottom, left , right, front and back. And then you can stain the show faces.
Tightening the acorn nuts and other decorative bolts: wrap the flat edges of the nut with a couple of wraps of painters tape to protect the finish from the teeth on the crescent wrench scratching the metal when you tighten the jaws down and turn. Especially when most gate, curtain rod and other colored metal hardware uses only a thin powder coating or even sprayed paint over steel which will scratch off when wrenched. If you don't have a socket that is deep enough or will fit over the shape of the nut to lock around the hex and an adjustable wrench is all you have to work with...
best handworker greetings from germany
Thanks and welcome
Jeff...I was shocked that you did not pull out the laser level sooner. 😎. Cheers!
Would have liked to see longer than 14 seconds so I don’t have to click pause and play and then back up 10 seconds and then rewatch 7 seconds to try to get the still frame I wanted. Love the videos and always learn lots thank you
Was the stain for the counter top a last minute idea? I like staining my counter tops before the install to avoid and bleeding into the walls behind it. Especially after that nice paint job. Great vid, gave me some nice tips!
Thanks 4 all your vids...have learnt loads . 🇬🇧🇨🇦
Great video! What about metal studs? Is it the same thing? It looks like the wooden studs are more easy to work with it.
Question: why not stain the top before installing so you're not also staining the wall behind it?
Jeff thought he'd just use oil but Michelle wanted to add color!
Beautiful! I need one! 🙋
This guy is amazing🤩
Thanks for sharing the details of this project. Where did you get the laser lever?
Hey Jeff, love your videos! Could you share a link for the barn door and hardware? Thanks!
14:25... is it just me or is that row of recessed lights on the right side not lined up straight?
It’s not just you
I'm doing a full gut reno on an old farm house myself and I'm just wondering if you have any tips on the final layout electrical plumbing cabinetry ect. Do you focus on furniture placement and room elements when designing the floor plans i do all my own designing and decorating plans just wondering what you may think are the most important elements when deciding the final flow of your home
Hi Jeff. The ikea cabinets have a 1/8 thick back. did you use some reinforcement to make it strong enough to be screwed in to the studs?
All I heard was do exactly what I do! Lol, thanks for this!
I thought this was one of those weird algorithm advertisements because we just bought a house and have been talking about a walk in pantry 😅
I love all of it
This is so useful info I am planning to make a butler’s pantry
Hey, this is unrelated to this video, but does anyone know if they've done any videos on texturing? I havent been able to find any. If not... Jeff, now that youve made me a master sheet-rocker.... you cant just leave me hanging man!
coming soon. cheers!
Hey Jeff... nice to see the lovely Mrs. Jeff too... good to see teamwork. Wondering though, aren't you using LAG SCREWS.... and not lag bolts? For someone going to HD or Lowes, asking for bolts will produce different hardware than what you are using. Maybe this is common way to express this hardware in Canader, eh? Love your stuff... been watching for over a year now. Thanks for your Houston Storm videos/help. I proclaim you an Honorary TEXAN! (not that it does anything for you just because I said so... but I am sure many here feel the same way! Woo Hoo....!!!)
How do you get the free hanging door to not bang on your wall when opening? Is there a guide or tract at the bottom as well for easy opening and closing?
Did you add nailer plates before you drywalled?
3rd cabinet answered my question ;)
I’m curious about the way you install the wall cabinet. Are those ikea section wall units? No need to use a metal track to hang those three wall units?
I used the book shelves since they were 15" and in stock. the 15" wall cabs were not available.
Hi Jeff. Great job on both of your projects. Thay look awsome. Love that colour grey you have on your walls. Can you please tell me the name of that colour? Thank you. Your farmhouse is looking fantastic. Great vids. Take care and safe. 🇬🇧👍👌❤️😊
Hi Jeff! Do you have a video on how to build your own double oven cabinet?
Best vid yet welldone
Great video and you had a good assistant.
I think so too! Cheers Larry!
Kitchen looks great Jeff! What color/paint brand is that blue/gray on the walls?
That wallpaper... Simply peel, like no big deal 😂
Thanks so much for the tutorial! You seemed pretty mellowed out with this project....I've asked before. Can you tell me the name of the color blue that you used and where you purchased it? Oh, and one more thing...can you come and put some storage shelves and cabinets up for me downstairs! You've got all of the expertise!🙂🌺
Let me check and i will get back to you.
Yes Yes!
I ususly put a board under the csbinets that i can hang them on. After gluing and fasting with screws i remove the board.
put a little painters tape on your crescent wrench so no scratches on the hardware.
They are nice worktops, I'd love to make one out of 2x2's
Awesome watch
You commented about IKEA cabinets as economical... But every time I go to IKEA they quote me bunch of accessories and other stuff and the price per cabinet is extremely high. Can you explain more on what part number or model you use, and what accessories you purchase? The IKEA counter keeps telling me I need a specific model and all the accessories they are including for a successful installation ...
- It’s a little extended past there
- It’s ok
I’m sorry, but if the lady says it’s a little extended, maybe it’s not ok 😂🤣
🤣🤣
Question, are two of the pot lights in front of the kitchen island supposed to be out of line? I'm not trying to be an internet troll, just curious if it's intentional for some design purpose or not.
Great video though!!
Yes and yes
Love your channels!!! Recommend you to everyone. Where can we get this same door? No obvious link shown below
we got ours at costco! Cheers!
How did u attach counter top? Glue? Screws?
Former high school teacher loves your vids. Cappuccino has 3 c’s though. 🤓
Hey Jeff, I was trying to look for the video where you show your process for installing the Schluter Ditra Heat underneath the LVP in the bathroom, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere on your channel anymore. Do you know what happened to it?
the manufacturer changed their recommendations to include a floor leveler on the wire so we pulled it until we can fix it. Cheers!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY Okay, thanks for the clarification. Looking forward to an updated video on it, I'd love to do radiant under vinyl for my bathrooms!
I was watching this thru my smart TV but had to jump on here to comment after seeing Jeff high pissed over getting short lag bolts with his online purchase. I literally LOL'd bcuz I've been there so many times and even with Home Depot and other hardware stores just minutes away, it steals away your work day so fast when you have to make a supply run.
How about a link to that barn door? Just what I am looking for!! :o)
What barn door did you use and do you recommend it?

How would you work this out for 3 overlapping sliding doors?
What grey colour shade/code is that paint in the main kitchen area? Looks really nice.👌🏻
My dad has an aluminum scaffold that is 18" tall, and it is PERFECT for these jobs where you're reaching far to the left and right. I've tried to steal it from him, but he keeps stealing it back!
Also, measure three times, cut twice, go to the hardware store for more parts. That's my motto.
Sweet pantry
Right! Cheers!
How do you know what to set the clutch on your drill/driver to? I always guess but is there a guide anywhere so you don't overdrive the screw in the cabinet material?
experience. when in doubt set it low and if it stops raise it a bit to finish. once you get familiar with your tool then you will be set!
