Around the 2:45 mark, one of the amplifiers blows up, yet the show continues to a ruckus crowd of KISS Army Soldiers.

I love Kiss, they were my absolute favorite growing up and its going to suck watching them retire but it's also very understandable for their age, love ya Kiss!!

Yep, he’s made quite the comeback vocally. Holistic medicine works.
Some days are better than others. It's nice to see that he can have a good day every now and then. I think Paul only uses backing tracks on certain parts on the bad days. At least you know he could sing them on a good day.

If you are American, get back to being sad about being a member of the dumbest, most self-absorbed, most apathetic, most willfully uninformed population in the history of what they call Earth.
Look at our installed leader. He couldn't order the correct lunch choices for himself and two passengers at a McDonald's Drive-Thru...in three attempts.
Get back to being sad about hearing Spanish as the first language you hear when you leave the house, and the last one before you get home.
Get sad because we get taxed up the ass for schools and they are not teaching children sh*t.
Get sad about virtually everything you hear and see on any "news" program being opinion, probably bought-and-paid-for or a complete lie.
And be sad because our elected employees think we work for them.
But fret not Tim, you will never see "KISS" for the last time.
Don't count on it. In 83 I saw the stones farewell tour. Their still out in 2023. Forty years later and they were old guys back then.

They apply their work ethic, will, style, presence, and talent through a unique or innovative show presentation over decades and enjoyed/paid by generations.
They act like they’re just throwing this song out off the top of their head. They rehearse all that too

I was leaving Nashville that afternoon on the way to Memphis, saw all the tour buses lined up outside the arena as we left the Country Music Hall of Fame

Why call this a sound check? It’s a planned performance. Soundchecks take place after the backline systems have been set up onstage, to make sure everything works and dialed in to the room acoustics. They’re on a side stage. 😊
The sort of brainiacs who pay for this don’t know the difference. A “soundcheck” not even in the concert space, what a joke!
i wonder the same, and also wonder if they are plugged into the main PA at the same time for levels and mix.
They gotta call it something so they can sell it to ya. Lol
As Paul explained right at the beginning normally they would be playing in the arena but they're still setting it up and apparently running late. So you got to give the people who paid for it what they paid for at least to an extent

I love what Ace did to get KISS started but Tommy is a very nice guy and he shows up to the show sober and plays a hell of a guitar!

@Mah_Username Ace plays like shit anymore. His singing is horrible, and his guitar playing has gone down hill. So keep going with the worn out put downs of Tommy because frankly Kiss would sound like shit with the way Ace currently plays.

Genes voice has held up probably better than any of his peers. He has consistently been good for decades that’s impressive.

Over time, Paul has become my favorite member. And this current lineup is their absolute best. I wish it weren’t ending, but they really are at the top of the world.

"Soundcheck" at this point actually consists of making sure the tape is rewound.
That Framus amp Paul is using is a pretty rare bird.

This is nice. For me the magic was lost when Peter and Ace were no longer part of the band. I wish they could of found a way to work things out but its understandable why they were fired from what I've read. This was nice. Thanks for posting it.

Have loved Kiss since I was a little kid and they're still great musically but Paul sounds rough. Not Bon Jovi or Vince Neil rough but rough enough. Kind of sad.
You nice there Paul and I'm glad you look better. It had to bugg you, nice smile now. You look great. I have seen your other interviews about giving till it hurts. Yes I know your from a group from Judah and you do give till it hurts (Yeshua smile). In so many ways. Oh not me! Not askin. Just pointing. Life goes on, but how much longer. For any of us or us all. Drummer is above the Norm (not MacDonald, well yes he is. By 6 feet, sick! Norm would like it.) and the rest is just you. In 74 or 75 I seen you guys at the Palace Theatre in Dayton Ohio, 3 rows back, maybe 4, far enough not to turn into a hot dinner, the first album. It was perfect, on time, couldn't tell the difference from the album. I am disabled, not much to get life but I really enjoy music. I think that the time we have left before the real Messiah comes is with years, not a decade. If you have not been blown by the wind I pray you are.

Tons of bands do this. There's usually a q+a, exclusive merch, and early entrance and sometimes photo, kiss is definitely not the first band to do this. It's usually not a traditional sound check that you are thinking of. It's more a mini show than anything.
Soundchecking a pre-recorded concert-whaddya need them on the stage for?
