I was the last guy in line at SweetWater Gearfest for Nita's signature and a picture. She had been signing for at least and hour already. The line was halfway across the lot. I almost missed the opportunity because she wanted to go get a bite to eat but she took the time to take a selfie with me. I must say, she is a real pro and a real sweetheart. Thanks, Nita!
AC/DC and Iron Maiden are my fave bands of the last nearly 40 years. Both play rock but both are very different. AC/DC...simple bluesy r n r that they make sound so easy, and Iron Maiden who regularly play songs in excess of 8 minutes with three lead/rhythm guitars and extensive lyrics. Both excellent at what they do. No Bull from either
That's a badass video Glen. Both of these lovely ladies are seriously talented and just goes to show woman can shred just as well as men. I'm partial to Nita being a huge Maiden fan and playing an awful lot of maiden myself. Nice job Glen!
I went to my local store and wanted to buy a guitar I could solo on which was very different then by rhythm PRS. After playing a bunch I tried the Jira. I had no idea who Nita was since I’m not a metal guy. Wow! The guitar rocks. Super flat. So easy to play. Great tone. I bought it and love it. It’s really an amazing guitar.
The Yin Yang of female albums One has an album with 1 vocal guest and the rest are instrumental songs The other has an almost complete album with vocals but with 1 instrumental song One has a blue kinda light guitar with maple neck The other has a dark guitar with mahogany neck One has dark hair The other has blonde hair Yep, right on
"It's basically a Steve Vai guitar, it looks super cool with the handle, does that help you get your guitar on stage?" Lmao Glenn, I died laughing at that shit, that was amazing!
I agree w/ Nita.. Janick is perfect for Maiden now.. Been a fan since 82' and I still love Janick, he brings energy...and he helped write some amazing iconic Maiden riffs..
I like how Glenn toward the end of the video, isn’t saying a word. He just looks like he’s thinking, “You know, I’m just gonna shut up and enjoy this moment.” 🤣😂🤣
I love my Helix. I'm not tone grandpa and have thousands of hours of experience with the actual pedals and amps that are modeled in the unit. I don't care about any of that. The sound is what's important and the Helix is excellent in that regard. I don't give a rat's ass if the JCM 800 or whatever sounds slightly different than one someone played back in the 80s in their creepy uncle's basement, the one in the Helix is easily good enough (as are all the amps).
yes, depending on tubes, bias, eq, any mods.. speakers, guitar... ect...ect...ect ... The Helix is close enough for any stage, and guess what, I am sure you know.. no one in the audience cares...
exactly my point. It's also plenty satisfying to play through and snapshots are truly incredible for jamming and gigs alike. I send my Helix through a Mesa 2x12 for tracking sometimes or to have a cab on stage but FOH gets IRs and so does my interface at home. It's a versatile piece of kit.
yes, I have not used snapshots, but I have only been using it for a two months for real, got it and was going to return it, then I learned how to uses IR's and how to place effects, like delay after the speaker.. who knew.. well not me an old tube amp guy.. Still love my "real Amps" but see no reason to use them live anymore..
I planned to send my Helix back as well until I started tweaking the first time. I actually didn't start using snapshots until last night. Seamlessly switching sounds without audio cutout is too awesome.
I am an X-guitar player who switched to bass. (DERP). I must tell you that listening to you rip into bass players really opened my eyes. My playing has improved so much taking your advise. I saw a video on Nita about a year ago I think and she blew me away. Love your shows and keep up on us fucking bass players . By the way, Keep the FUCKS dude.

I love my line 6 Helix. Thehe Simplicity of hitting one button and doing so many controls at once is priceless. I don't like tap dancing and I don't like a lot of petals. Just to show that just made my day. Oh PS yes I have a fractal audio ax8 but I sidelined at and packed it away and went back to the Helix for the simplicity. Thanks Glenn for the video and the female guitarist on the show.
As a recent subscriber, I am really enjoying discovering this whole library. Great interview of great guitarists. Wish the video was five times as long.
I saw Iron Maiden with Blaze Bailey in a mid sized club years ago and Janick was a maniac on stage. At the end of the show he was swing on the lighting rig 15 feet above the stage. Great show. Not the best Maiden show I've ever seen but it was still great. Blaze was ok live. Never cared for his voice on the albums though. I've seen Maiden at least 10 times and they have always been great.
Did anyone else get the vibe Nita was taking digs at Jen Majura? I read through the comments and didn't see anyone comment on it so maybe I'm wrong. ..or maybe Nita is just so popular it's her fans that overwhelmed the comments. I couldn't imagine fielding questions to a pair of rockstars like that, great job.
I felt that there was a subliminal bitchfight going on here & the dude in the middle only picked up on it at the very end & so he was sandwiched inbetween two claws 🦞 of death 💀 & witches !
bakoos lol, you, sir, could not be more hopelessly wrong. That song rocks! It's the charge of the Light Brigade, for cryin' out loud! Cannons to the right of them! Cannons to thr left of them! Firecrackers going off in Alfalfa's back pocket!
bakoos lol, yeah, there are lots of great Maiden songs, especially from that era, and maybe you could argue a better one or three, but I just loves me some gallopin' "Trooper". But then, I'm a sucker for chantthems.
Agree, very few can play it right. It sounds different and not as good. Same thing with Phils drums. Very few drummers can swing highway to hell correct. Style and feel are hard to duplicate.
4:15 That's why push/push-knobs should be the norm... Those things are rather hard to find, even though they're more logical to use in between playing. - Ibanez had it right before, though; The old Roadstar-guitars have them.
Hahaha, ok, show me. Maybe you can, but there's still soo many people who can't. I've seen 3 people on youtube do it right. I don't think i've seen a thunderstruck cover played correctly ever
Sniperfire24 thunderstruck is an exception. It's very difficult, that I'll admit. But songs like highway to hell or back in black aren't very difficult to play.
9/10 times people play those it's wrong. In highway to hell they just strum they chords like they don't care, and they don't play the f# on the D chord. In back in black soo many people don't know how to do the lick in the main riff, and that's not even taking the solos into account.
Good interview with them. liked the questions and loved all the jokes (open scene, epic!), loved to hear their take on playing and bands and all that good stuff. thanks for making killer vids!

Nita’s guitar tone in this video is AMAZING
MetalJesusRocks what???
I believe she just uses a boss gt 1000 processor. At least live that's what she is using. I'm not sure if that's the same in the studio.
and amazing structural
everything about that axe is amazing including its artist.
both guitar tones in this video are utter crap!

Not even 2 minutes in and there is already a bass player joke :D
And Jen played bass for Equilibrium :p
Yeah, he's really letting up on them these days.
I’m telling Dawie504

Shortly thereafter, Glenn starts ranking on Jen’s guitar to her face because of the handle on it. Glenn, the largest garden gnome on the planet.
A nice video with three beautiful women. Haven't watched an smg video in a while but I'm back now.

two beautiful women and the ugly one with the larger than life personality.

Pretty sure maiden is considered heavy metal but idk im not an expert

Omfg I love that intro, he's looking at the camera "help me I'm stuck here but I also feel kinda starstruck"
It's the "Why has God allowed me to get so much attention from these women while stuck with this body and face?" face.

I see him every weekend...Svengoolie
He does magic tricks with a man who looks like a cross between simon and Garfunkel
🤣🤣🤣🤣 wtf
I was surprised to see a Line 6 logo at the beginning of this video! Lol
He had to get two hot musicians so we wouldn’t click away when seeing that.
Nita's got spunk, but those jabs at Jen about Evanescence are priceless!!!
Spunk???
Spunk hahahahah.....
Glenn, you are not worthy.
Apparently.
A thorn between two roses.
Wayne Steffen that's how rose plant works
Glenn , you did my interview.
If I had legs that beautiful, I'd wear short trousers too!
Such a rare moment to actually understand where these METAL Maidens are going with this. And how they relate to their guitars and work. Keep Rocking.
Glenn has the most hair in this video.
You don´t see most of his hair...if you know what I mean 😂
The Helix simple pitch is the best function in the entire thing. It's cover band magic
Loving Glen's lack of shame when it comes to wearing what he wants
I loved this but was a little sad we didn't get to hear the ladies play a song together. It would've been fantastic!
Saw Nita Strauss live, she was a great guitarists. Both are awesome artists with great articulation.
2 girls, 1 grump.

Glenn had to pull in two of the hottest musicians just to keep the audience from clicking off the moment LINE6 logo appeared.
Lol

Ain't no one gonna notice how Nita hit them harmonics at 2:51, she hit them harmonics smooth and feisty
I wouldn't mind that pair for a couple of hours. Glenn can fetch refreshments!

TEAM JANICK HERE as well. I love him. He has such a character and crazy playing style. AWESOME guitarist
Love it when Nita rips into Wasted Years!
Just hearing Nita Strauss talk about her signature guitar is love at first sight man.
Janick can do all that showman stuff because he has one of the two tightest guitar duos backing him up!
