Is the mechanism that moves the feeder up and down the same as the one that moves the feeder back and forth? My feeder moves up and down but not front to back.
Thanks for the excellent video! I'd like to know if the 4 pc Singer Sewing Machine gear sets (for models 502-522) advertised on eBay are also suitable for this machine (I have the same model).
Do you have any suggestions for removing a screw that won’t budge? I tried on p b blaster but it wasn’t any help. I’m working on two machine and it’s the same screw on both that I can get out to slide the gear off.
Mate, thanks for the video, just what I needed…..but… 😜. some really detailed and long explanations on how and where to squirt oil, lubricate the shafts / gears etc, then at 5 :47 seconds, the actual timing part, the most important bit ! 😂 you just say ‘Needle bar at bottom dead centre’ No explanation at all of where or what the needle bar is, how where we see it. I see the timing marks on the shaft/ cam area to line up to time the feed gear, but nothing about what/ where to check the ‘needle bar’ is at BDC. I found myself shouting at the screen when you were over explaining how to move a stuck gear on the shaft in previous video, yet get to the important tech detail bit and it is gone in a second ! 😂😂 No offence intended, bloody great of you to do these… my aunts new gears are in the post.. so hope you get back to me before the postman arrives ! 😁

Your videos helped me change the gears on a 514. Thank you! I wonder if you can help me figure out why the handwheel is quite stiff to move by hand.
Did you oil it up?
