I recently bought a 20 plate diesel Combo Life with 18,000 miles on the clock and was 'happy' to pay £14,500 as it was ex motability and therefore properly maintained ! It's doing 55mpg and has a huge cargo carrying space with the rear seats folded flat and I'd recommend anyone to bite your arm off for your one !
The oil, the worn brake disks.. This van never had a single maintenance job before this one.
£9k is the biggest bargain you’ve sold in a while (and there’s been plenty to choose from). I reckon you could sell this 1,000 times at that price. Cracking car for someone. Would love to bring it back to Glasgow

little tip if you ever do brakes on a vauxhall with an electronic handbrake make sure the wheels are chocked as when you turn the wheel your fixing it will take the handbrake off

Someone will've already said this, but CDVs (car derived vans) are allowed to run at 70mph on motorways in the UK. That's the reason the new models always appear as cars (Berlingos, Partners, Combos, etc...) before the vans are available to order from dealers. Hope this helps.
all vans can do 70mph on a motorway, the restriction is for none CDV over 2 tons on dual & single carriage ways (50 & 60)
Really fantastic job guys! Good on you to pick up about the discs and do that at same time. That poor car never had a touch of servicing so well deserved profit bringing it back to life. Also video editing getting better every time Rob - 2x camera setup on road trip worked great 👍🏻

Lo lads, Ye earned yer money. I've seen loads of these vehicles converted to disabled persons transport. You have to ask the question when these car/vans are sold they are normally sold with a service plan. Anyways well done and thanks for the vid.
The engine is sounding sweet and no more smoke now the exhaust is clear. Chris did well with rebuilding the engine and you two as a team put it back in. That was well spotted with those brake discs and pads Rob. This car is now looking good after a good clean inside and out. It will be a very nice car for someone at a very nice price with a good profit for you both. Thanks for an interesting series Rob and Chris another one saved. 👍👍

Agree 100%. I'd certainly not hesitate.
Volume was ok Rob. I did not even notice it was new doing that. (imo thats not a bad thing, it's a good thing as it means it worked and was seamless). Do like those motors its crazy how the same thing can be classes as a car, van, motorhome and minibus. It's even more crazy what its classes as depends how you can use it like going to the skip, towing with it etc, etc.

Nice video guys , i took a personal interest as a partner owner driver ( yes your right they are all the same except badges and outside grill bits and a few other bits😮) and i must admit i was worried when you gave it a test drive and you mentioned smoke but you knew what you was onabout, good honest video and you do yourselves proud every time, as a Northener i allways imagined you guys with Southern accents were a bit sharp but you do give the motor trade a good name and well done .

My Defender was registered as a van (still driving it here in Cape Town). No one bothered me for driving at 'normal car' speed ever, in fact, they were probably impressed that I could get to 70mph 😁😁

Sheppey bridge, i remember third manning with ambulance and stuck on the bridge. Somebody approached us, their baby had stopped breathing, thankfully they were ok after taking them to hospital.

Where I work a car came back with a complaint of an oil leak after having a new front bumper fitted. The oil filter was rotten and leaking, it had never had an oil change from new and it was a 2016. Mind boggling.
Hi Rob and Chris I own the same car as the video wirh the same engine its the 1.5 turbo diesel. Can you confirm the oil you used as this video series got me worried.
Same i also own the same one haha 22plate though so interior shifter and seat diffrent but same colour same engine :)
I think the speed limit is to do with potential pay load weight. I found out about the different speed limit, for a van when I got caught 😁

The reason it gets away with being a car not a van is bacause all of the berlingos/partners are derived from the Citroen Zx/Xsara/Peugeot 306 platform instead of being designed from the ground up as a van.
Her indoors had me watching selling London on netflix scripted to the last now were sucking diesel with proper viewing

Car derived vans or van derived cars are eligible to do the same speeds as a car. Its those vans that do not have a passenger equivalent which are liable to follow the speed limits of a van
Wow that was a mouthfull??? Can you please explain??? The van I have is a Peugeot Partner a little bit older than this one ( they are all the same badically) and my third partner van but have heard something similar to what you said off someone else and didn't understand ?????
@@johnallright6847 small vans such as the Berlingo / Partner have a car equivalent with more seats and windows. Therefore speed limits are the same as a car. Larger vans such as a transit / transporter etc are just vans regardless of how many seats they have. Mad really seeing as full blown coaches can drive at full motorway speeds
@@barryamorristhere is someone further down the comments saying he just got a fine for doing 70 in his partner. I only know bits as I got points and a fine for doing 67 in a transit Luton on the a1 just before the a1m I opted for a speed awareness course no points bud still paid the fine plus the cost of the course i think I’ll stick to 60 in my van just to be sure 👍
@@sruk you should challenge these in court and they will get overturned. If like the Peaugeot partner has a car equivalent then it’s liable to the same speed limits as a car. You should have to do speee awareness courses or take points. It’s their laws, just got to read up on them and challenge them at every opportunity
