Defo got one still on the original motors the others running those black edition ones from 4 yrs back. EX120 2s brushed Hex still flying also🙂 goota love a bit of nostalgia.
I watched your former video in approximately 2017 and decided to purchase this thing. I fell in love with tiny whoops immediately. After a few weeks I added the aio camera/vtx and fell in love with FPV. My channel history effectively proves that as I've been flying almost everyday since then. Thanks Nick!
My first drone was an E013. It was 60 Bucks or so and came with Box Googles. It was the cheapest way to try FPV. And boy did it get me hooked :) Thanks for the blast from the past
Great video Nick. The E010 was a great little quad back in the day, easily converted into an FPV whoop, which for someone like me it was great because I'm hopeless with Betaflight, so this RTF kit was great. The E017 looks like we have gone up tp the next level and thankfully so have my soldering skills! I shall be purchasing at least one E017 in readiness for a bit of indoor FPV in the Christmas holidays.
Bought my son a E010 as a first drone, when it broke I built him a 75mm whoop with 13° angle limit and 80% throttle cap and he uses my old goggles and controller
My first drone experience was the Parrot AR Drone v1 in 2011, but life got busy and I didnt stay with it. Several years later, my first fpv experience in the goggles was actually the e011 with a little eachine tx03. Small investment, but massively influential on me and kick started my fpv journey to where I am today!

This is great to see end of 2022 😍 that is how I got started in the hobby. I remember your review from back then 👍 I also have the santa one. But removed the speaker, to use it with a camera instead. It works very well. I still fly brushed whoops. There is just something nostalgic and simple about them.
The best thing was that some of these are compatible with the Jumper 4in1 module via the Bayang protocol, not the simplest thing to flash, but it flyes multiple times better than the standard, and you end up using a proper RC controller
You can buy inductrix boards for $20 here in Australia I've been putting them in the cheap quads so for about $70 you can have a inductrix whoop with fpv

E010 was the bomb, my third drone. The next cheap whoop I dug was the "Santa drone" E011C aka JJRC H67 with beefier motors. Paired with the original Jumper controller and could fly it FPV quite a ways. Honorary mention to the Eachine/JJRC H8 Mini. Good times!

Those things are still kicking around in various forms. "4-in-1" are often how they're described. They were very cool... you could get decent range out of some of these tiny drones using them (300+ meters) while flying FPV with those tiny AIO cameras on them.

A nice little look back Nick. I've not heard from Benedikt for a long time. Micro Motor Community was the cauldron of creativity behind so much of where we are at today. I remember building a Silverware acro capable whoop using an Eachine H8 fc and inductrix frame way back in 2016.

I forgot about the Inductrix; always wanted one, but the goggles were too expensive. I had(have, but it's long dead) a NanoQx which was super fun, but was priced out of FPV for a long while.
Never had a brushed whoop, but did own a few brushed tiny toy drones from WLtoys. I still have one with a very basic fpv camera that you can swap out for a water canon, bubble blower or air winch.
i went back to watch that video and had already given it a thumbs up. haha. i probably watched it 6 years ago actually when it was new. pretty sure that's what happened. i've been subbed to your channel since as long as i can remember watching youtube regularly.
Well, I did this. Used the TX01 transmitter. Biggest issue I find with this is that you are constantly fighting the altitude hold, it's either over or under compensating for the extra weight of the camera. The second issue is the lack of canopy - crash, reaffix camera, crash, reaffix camera. Solution? Don't crash! 😂 With a vtx, I get about 2 mins flight time. Need more batteries and a better charger. That camera idea looks fantastic, it's amazing how well that little guy flys thanks for sharing this video with us.
it looks like the Eachine E017 is a version of the Holy Stone HS210 but with a few differences, the HS210 has a better shaped remote and comes with 220 Mah batteries which begs the question, why does the E017 come with only 150 Mah batteries. I am wondering if the E017 uses the same board as the Holy Stone HS210 but in the Eachine E017/JJRC H36 chassis, the 2 chassis are basically the same except the battery slot is just a tiny bit deeper to fit the thicker battery, i'm running a 260 Mah in my HS210. I tried finding out if the 017 does use the same props as the 010, H36 and HS210 but i couldn't find any props for sale, if they do use the same props i found that you can increase the flight time by probably a minute or more if you cut 2 of the blade off of each prop making it a 2 blade prop, I lost a little bit of punch out but it made a big difference in my flight time...FYI
Currently have two acrobees that are brushed and flying but as of a week ago built my first brushless whoop and gotta say I’m loving it, also I’m going to go watch the old video again hopefully get you one more view towards the goal lol
Love that you FPV-ed it 😆Reminds me of the good ol' days with the E010 around. I'm glad that Eachine's come out with an updated version but it's kind of a shame that the controller isn't any better and that it doesn't have acro (not that anyone would expect a quad like this to have acro). Well done with the video🙌
I must still have around 4 or 5 brushed whoops! Haven't flown them in many years. Those rectangular lipos they come with are near worthless! They die and can't be charged by themselves! Ultra low quality! Lol My best brushed whoop is a custom build from way back when ... it's an E011 modified with a mini camera in between the front ducts. A very low profile... A low rider! It has the best of the best of cameras from back then. It actually worked with light transitions from dark to light pretty darn good ... Especially for back then! We've come so far! 😎🤘
@@NickBurnsFPV I haven't shopped for those or looked at them in quite so time now. Used to be able to get 200mw AIO cameras. I never bought one. Hope things are going well for you, Nick! :)
Wish you had gone into the motor sizes that can make all the difference for carrying the camera. Santa drones can't be found anymore and I think they were the last with the larger motor. That speaker comes out real quick and easy, then the camera just replaces that weight. I just got a $15 H823H by Snaptain. It's alright but I think the weight of the camera would be too much.
Never thought to put a Camera/vtx aio on one of these (Looking at my mobula 7 v2 and RC Buggy...). I started with a HS210 and DEERC D10 then somehow discovered FPV and ordered the Cetus Pro kit (Waiting for a camera to finish a repair, it's been a while, I'm curious to fly it again). These little toys are a lot of fun for all ages. Still have the HS210 and been meaning to charge up some batteries, good LOS practice. I'm getting the hang of FPV Angle/Air mode, but LOS is pathetic. Plus you get a friend with one and play air smash em up lol. Great video! Hopefully it will give some new people ideas ^_^
I want to get my 8 year old son into the hobby and I have already started him out with watching your vids lol😁 I got into the hobby late so brushed was not what I wanted lol I have a few toy grade "whoops" I guess you can call em but they always would drop a motor and it would be the same one🤔 so I guess the esc's on them were bad but they were different brands but still shared the exact same problem lol I have a "atoyx -AT 96" and it's the best toy grade I have ever flown I let my son fly it and after 20 or so crashes it still flies it would be a fun lil quad to throw a camera on but I really like how this lil guy flies with the camera great vid nick as always that christmas version is pretty cool!✌🏽
Awesome flying and review, Nick! 😃 I still have my Fyribee F36... But I need new batteries. I should fly it more! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
really any soldering iron should do the trick, smaller the point the better. Eachine EV800d goggles are a budget friendly set that could be used with the camera/vtx I added in this video.
Well, I just bought one. 😂🤣😂 You bad man man!! 😂🤣😂 I've got a small all in one camera and vtx. Should be fun. Cheap and cheerful Oh and your code only works for those of you in US. I'm in UK.... so bummer for me
Did you use the batteries that came with it or did you upgrade. Just wondering if I can get some extra flight time or at least batteries that charge faster 👍🏻
did you have any suggestion for battery upgrade on this thing? Mine last about 3 minutes before it starting to fall down modded with tx06 and 3d print bracket mount and antenna guard
Off the top of my head, I don't know. It needs a combo camera and vtx. Pretty much anything like that should work, it only needs voltage and ground. Yes, the signal protocol or is called analog.
There are versions that accept silverware, even brushless motors with modifications. A lot of tinkering is needed ofc but it still makes me feel that what we fly is grossly overpriced.
@@NickBurnsFPV I don't believe that these ever used the Bayang protocol as stock. The various iterations have used a variety of modified protocols since the original JJRC H36/Eachine E010 most of which are available for multi protocol radios. I believe (but may be wrong) that they were switched to the Bayang protocol only if they were flashed with Silverware.
Edit. Just checked the Multiprotocol list and it looks as if that was wrong and the very first iterations may well have been on Bayang and those are the ones that could possibly be flashed with the Silverware hacked software. All the newer ones (with red board and on) use different protocols.
So how do toy drones like this (sort of) maintain altitude, meanwhile "real" drones like the Mobula7 with Betaflight do not have that capability? Are the toys using gyro and accelerometer data to keep track of where they are and have moved? Similar question for the pseudo-return to home feature? Why can't Betaflight do this too?
the "toys" generally only have what is often called level mode or angle mode. This being the quad is always try to hold level according to its last calibration. The mobula7 has the same sort of angle mode, but most who aren't new to fpv fly in rate or acro mode which is the opposite where we have to control the quad on all axis all the time.
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanks for the help! Ya, I have used angle and acro mode on the Mobula7, and I kind of prefer angle mode so it levels out if I release the sticks. But I still have to control the throttle to maintain altitude which is ok when I can see it. But when video drops out, I would like to hit a button, where I can release all sticks and have the drone level an maintain its altitude (approximately) until I can regain video (by walking around, since this usually happens outside when the drone is a few houses away). And having a button that would return-to-CLOSE-to-the-direction-of-home would be invaluable when I fly too far away and can't see which way I'm even pointed, which might help get my drone back in video range.
@@gsegallis the betaflight return to home has improved over the years as had the gps units we most often use on fpv quads. Might be something to check out.
This is what my friends and coworkers think I fly. Probably means I need new friends and coworkers. I tell them my parts list is around $200, and they send me something like this to show me I paid too much
For the price, looks like it might be a good brushed candidate for a relatively inexpensive FPV conversion, especially with a 4-in-1 radio! Thanks for the video! Fun to watch the LOS and conversion to FPV!
I really wish all our fpv drones small and large had this ability to just hover in place. This would be really useful for beginners and experienced as well.
Recalling the e010 from 6 years ago is tough. My estimation is the e017 is better, it has more fancy flight fun features and the remote is a bit more refined.

Well done with the video🙌
dear-breathtaking ~ all the best-💫
I must still have around 4 or 5 brushed whoops! Haven't flown them in many years. Those rectangular lipos they come with are near worthless! They die and can't be charged by themselves! Ultra low quality! Lol
My best brushed whoop is a custom build from way back when ... it's an E011 modified with a mini camera in between the front ducts. A very low profile... A low rider! It has the best of the best of cameras from back then. It actually worked with light transitions from dark to light pretty darn good ... Especially for back then! We've come so far! 😎🤘
we have come a long ways. Do they even make more mw aio cam/vtx? Seems that development stopped a few years ago.
Not sure about the santa whoop but I have been told the e010 is on ebay for like $10.
Any idea what the control link is for this one? Santa whoop was compatible with multi protocol modules
I don't know. I suspect it still uses the bayang protocol
My los isn't so great either. Los is easier with the self leveling on...aka angle mode.
this is a nice alternative for the Ryzen Tello
I have the jjr h36 version ,man I want to learn to soldier, not sure if my cheap iron helps!
Fun is where you find it!
This!!
Back in my day cheap toy drones use to cost 10-15$ 😂
Yep now you buy 1 bl whoop motor for that price
and the drone cycle begins
I still have my Fyribee F36... But I need new batteries. I should fly it more!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Any suggestions for a reasonably priced FPV goggle that will work for this FPV setup? Also, a soldering iron that will work for this small of a job?
really any soldering iron should do the trick, smaller the point the better. Eachine EV800d goggles are a budget friendly set that could be used with the camera/vtx I added in this video.
Well, I just bought one. 😂🤣😂
You bad man man!!
😂🤣😂
I've got a small all in one camera and vtx. Should be fun.
Cheap and cheerful
Oh and your code only works for those of you in US.
I'm in UK.... so bummer for me
ah, sorry the code doesn't work. I need to ask them about that. Its not right to limit to a certain country. Enough the trip back into brushed whoops.
I will ask about the code, sorry about that. Not right to limit to the US.
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks EU Will help
Did you use the batteries that came with it or did you upgrade. Just wondering if I can get some extra flight time or at least batteries that charge faster 👍🏻
This was long ago, I do believe I used the stock batteries.
Seems great for kids, i had a pair of Inductrixes but they seem to be dying.
So the radio protocol is bespoke? You can't use a "proper" radio?
I don't specifically recall much on this particular quad from a year ago. Its possible this uses the bayang protocol like others in the past.
Boy we've come far , I still have my 010 well whats left of it.
did you have any suggestion for battery upgrade on this thing? Mine last about 3 minutes before it starting to fall down modded with tx06 and 3d print bracket mount and antenna guard
I don't. The battery is an odd size
U can buy echine on ebay alot also brand new
What camera would I buy two years after that video?
And do I need something else besides my eachine ev800 goggles?
Off the top of my head, I don't know. It needs a combo camera and vtx. Pretty much anything like that should work, it only needs voltage and ground. Yes, the signal protocol or is called analog.
There are versions that accept silverware, even brushless motors with modifications. A lot of tinkering is needed ofc but it still makes me feel that what we fly is grossly overpriced.
ah, yes that is right. I forgot about quicksilver on these brushed whoops.
Thanks for the review Nick, I’m looking for something like this to help intrude students to drones. Does this model use standard ph2.0 connectors?
It is a standard ph2.0 connector. The battery tray is wide like the 450+mah 1s batteries, but it takes the shorter variety.
@@NickBurnsFPV do you know what radio protocol these little guys use? Could I build it to a bigger radio with a cc2500 or 4-in-1 module?
@@SteadyeddieFPV I am not 100% certain. In the past we have seen these use the bayang protocol, but I haven't confirmed.
All the newer ones (with red board and on) use different protocols.
if i want more batteries, are there any other that could be used?
This is very old. but the main point in the connector and the battery voltage.
hello nick, what protocol is it ?
can this little gay bind to jumper t-lite jp4in1 ?
thanks for the review nick
there is the automatic landing with a button on the controller?
Sorry I don't recall, its been a good lone while since this video. Hopefully I covered the buttons and purposes.
I tell them my parts list is around $200, and they send me something like this to show me I paid too much
Lol, the cliche fits, "we know what we know and we don't know what we don't".
hey,i have a query,that is,can i use 200mW instead of 25mW fpv?or is that a bad idea?as itll consume more power.
It will consume slightly more battery energy but its very marginal.
@@NickBurnsFPV thank you
For the price, looks like it might be a good brushed candidate for a relatively inexpensive FPV conversion, especially with a 4-in-1 radio! Thanks for the video! Fun to watch the LOS and conversion to FPV!
I really wish all our fpv drones small and large had this ability to just hover in place.
This would be really useful for beginners and experienced as well.
can you launch it like a normal fpv drone?
Not sure what you mean by launch. Typically we start with arming the quad and then some throttle to get off the ground
Legendary 💪
P/s: Some receiver board (e010) can be bound to multiprotocol radios. Have you tried?
I haven't tried in recent years. I believe its the bayang protocol we can use.
What is the name of the modeling clay you used?
blu tack
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks
Which one is better. e010 or e017
Recalling the e010 from 6 years ago is tough. My estimation is the e017 is better, it has more fancy flight fun features and the remote is a bit more refined.
wasnt this $10 when it first came out?? lol
The E017 is new and this form factor has had many brands and names over the years. It may have been that price but I don’t recall it
what vtx are you using?
I name it in the video and I believe it is linked in the video description
Can i bind the e017 to my Radio?
depends on the radio and if it has the proper protocol
@@NickBurnsFPV what protocol is needed?
@@qantexx978 I am not 100% certain, last time I tried it was bayang toys years ago.
can we have acro mod ?
not to my knowledge
nice
What happened....drone to the face?
ha, no. Either to much sun from the vacation or something to bring on the visually stunning cold sore. :(
