everybody reacts to Atreus saying the line but it's also such a huge moment for a father to say he's sorry to his kid like that. that's the part that gets me the most.
You really gets it when: 1 - you had played all the saga till ragnarok. 2 - you're paying attention to their storyline. 3 - you're a father trying your best to protect your son, just like Kratos. *best part of entire game. Perfect dialogue.
Man I couldn't hold back tears when I played through this scene. I may be looking too much into it but Kratos smiling from Atreus saying his quote back to him was like a comfort for Kratos confirming that he didn't fail as a father and Atreus actually learn from him.
I can't be the only one who identified with Kratos's rage in Greek days, then I became a father and so did he (again) trying to be better for our sons. The humility of a father apologizing (who never does) and the pure love of a child to forgive is beautiful. Atreus speaking to Kratos the same way he was spoken to shows he listened and respected his father as well as forgave him. That line was the cherry on top of a heartwarming sundae. My sons aren't as grown, but if you acknowledge your failings and humble yourself, your kids will give you those moments. "We must be better than this."
There's a reason why he is one of the best youtubers. He shows his genuine emotions, no filter at all. Other than his silliness and jokes ofcoz. We all love him.
Honestly when Atreus said his father's words back to him imagine how much pride was bursting out of Kratos when his son affirmed the same virtues he tried so hard to guide him to being fully paid off. Not to mention that his smile honestly warmed the coldest parts of my heart because when a man who has been so brutally used and destroyed can find still find it in himself to smile. Damn this game is good lol
Not enough people mentioning Atreus' cheeky grin as Kratos put his arm around him. Kratos is so proud of him, but you know Atreus enjoyed being able to say that.
I played the first one with My daughter ( 5 years ) and she always used yo say that sir is always angry and today we have saw this cutscene ( while we we're playing of course ) and she told me . He is not angry anymore
this game got released 5 days before my wife gave birth to my first boi and at the labor day right before going into hospital i saw this at 4 AM . This series is like a gift my son bought to me along with him. Cheers to our fatherhood and santa monica 🍻
I firmly believe, with every fiber of my being, that THIS was the EXACT moment when Kratos knew Atreus would be fine without him and that Atreus really was better than Kratos
Seeing Kratos crack a smile for the first time after of all these gaming franchises of being an angry God Killer, feels like the world can finally sleep peacefully. 🥹

❤
That part really got me….
Especially when you know how distant he tried to be in the 2018 game

It reminds me of when my dad sat me down he started crying and said he was proud
when kratos smiles
the world smiles
❤️
Kratos: I'm sorry
Atreus: Don't be sorry father. Be better
Kratos: Proud dad mode activated

My God the absolute amount of character development we have gotten in a game ITS AMAZING !!!
it's hard to see if Kratos is smiling through that big beard
😂
Why can these two only have proper bonding moments that start to fix their issues when they're in Helheim?
Well, I guess something about being around the dead (or undead) brings their sentimental sides out.
You can almost hear Kratos thinking "...that's my BOY."
He was thinking “that’s my line, BOI”
It was in that moment . That very moment . That gods grew good .

You know a game series is great when a small line from the first game has such an impact.

As a father this always hits me.
Iconic indeed. Good video bro. But you can now add Moistcrit1kal to your list since he finished the game.
i might try… because mostly he doesn’t react to anything🗿
@@Cosmics. yeah i wanted to say he mostly doesn't react but he did a lot in this game
its basically saying i love you dad 😂
Am I the only one which got emotional during that scene?
No I did too but what’s comical is I watch this scene continuously
