That Tax deduction is sooo annoying. Lol. I can totally relate. In my own case, I had to go to our graduate secretary to explain why my money reduced. Your girl has calculated all her money in naira. And Alas! Taxes happened. Thanks for explaining this.
😹😹😹😹😹 Igbo girl. 😂😂😂😂Thank you for sharing your own experience.
It's so refreshing to hear from you nwanne, I'm planning to go for my PhD in the US as soon as I take the GRE and finish a research paper. I don't have a Masters degree but I learnt I can get a PhD without one. My undergraduate degree is strong and I've had 6 years of progressive work experience here in Nigeria. I also plan doing teaching assistantship when I get over there.
A lot of Unis are waiving or have waived GRE requirements so check on your particular Uni of interest.
I watched just one of your video one day and watched all within 5hrs. You legit. I dey feel you
Thanks! 😀
The cover banner reminded me of one of Nigeria's popular song; "Too much money... Problem na to spend it"
Shocker; I get $500 per month, and then I pay $2 state tax or so. It's funny because all the money they give us, they will find a way to get it back into the system again.
Than you for sharing it all.
😹😹 Thank you. You have just said it all.
can you during the duration start a side job or a side hustle?
Very informative just spend your money wisely.
Ok. 😃
Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
❤️
it's the way you use pidgin in-between your normal english flow for me - "e go shock you". 6:20 to 6:30 with a 1.25 play speed, hilarious 😂
This is informative. Thanks for sharing 💓
❤️😀
This was quite informative. At least you are working and earning unlike me who is stuck here. Thanks for sharing and you look good 💜
Yes, this is one of the good things about schooling here. Thanks a lot. Stay safe. ❤️❤️
What’s the name of your school ?
@@Nishabled South Dakota University of Mines and Technology.
I love the video. Thanks Omaye.
I’m here now. Watching this video for the second time.
As usual nice video and I needed it the most because i was aiming for a higher payment plan 😅😅😅
Thanks. 😀
Thanks for sharing, i highly recommend this video!
🙏🏾
Aladi I am a new subscriber,I love the video you made recently about Visa interview. Please release the part 2 this week. Thanks
I’m happy to have you on this channel. How about we get the part 1 to 1K views first? 😉 Thanks.
Aladi Akoh alright but it will keep increasing daily
12000$ a year is huge if you change it to naira 😜 so 9 months makes up an academic year
You’re right but by the time you pay all your bills, hmm nothing will be left. 😹😹
Tax deduction , plus Bills . House rent , electricity , water , trash , transportation , food etc ! It sounds like you are left with nothing Humm ! Am glad you found a second job though , blessings
I’m definitely left with nothing! Not even enough to cover all my bills.😫 Thanks.
thanks for sharing !
Wow that’s thoughtful of you
😀
Yay.. first timer here from prudence Apinoko's LS...ok.this video is very detailed..
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Binge watching your contents today😁
🔥🔥🔥🔥💛💛💛💛🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿 did I just hear my name. What do you do for the 3 months when school isn't in session?
Haha 😂 yes, you did! Thank you for the support.
Last year, I did a summer job (Teaching Assistant for a summer camp) just for about 2weeks.
Also, focused on self development, GRE prep and started my RUclips channel.
This year, I will be doing a lot of my Master’s research, self development, prep for PhD applications and create more RUclips videos by the grace of God.
*Notification Gang*
Yay! ❤️
Wow I really learnt a lot
I'm glad.
Please did you file for tax returns because this taxes na gbakam ishi. I didn't know stipends were taxed oh, nawa.
Kwesi is amazing for real, he watches my videos too
Yes, I did (2019 and 2020) but you know as an International Student you really don’t get back anything reasonable. What I got was in the range of $40 - $60.
My dear, them dey tax everything. 😫
@@AladiAkoh that is crazy!
It's been a long time Aladi
Hehe I’ve been silently watching your videos oh. 😹
Wow i really Learnt A Lot ❤
❤️
I am a first timer hear, I like your videos
You’re welcome here! Thank you. 🙂
12000 per academic year, that's sucks! Which degree was it? Anything less than 23000 is useless.
And yeah one thing that almost skippedmy mind. Aladi can you like make a video on like when you get the money the insurance, savings and you know how to go about with the money so you cannot go bankrupt because USA is a country where you'll not even like or dream about going bankrupt
Here is a similar video I already posted: ruclips.net/video/Ldc_UBkrZ64/видео.html
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Thank you , Ghanaian In China 🇨🇳
Aladi I just saw your Facebook story of you playing basketball and I hope no basketball player sees you apart from me because he'll be forced to teach and apart from the tax deduction you'll also have a basketball training deduction 😂😂😂
Really? 😅
Pls I was just denied my visa . Pls I would like to know how I can make my second interview successful
Please how did you get the job assistanship
Hello dear i love your vidoe please when a post graduate finishes in US can he or she get a good job and earn in a hight payment
Your cheek 😻😻
Lol. Is there anything wrong with it?
Isaac, it’s been a long time since I saw your comment. Hope you’re doing well.
Aladi Akoh I’m admiring the cheekiness of your cheek😁. Oh yeah, I’ve been good, just been busy with a few things.
Haha. Thanks! 🤩Good to hear from you again!
Aladi the rich Woman😜
Amen!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾💃🏾
@@AladiAkoh 😂🤣
Please what's the best way to reach out to you, it's quite urgent, thank you
"Ndalama" that's "money in my native language.. Zambia 🇿🇲
Thanks for letting me know!!! 😊😊
Hi. Can I apply for graduate assistantship without work experience
Pls dear, would you refer me to any university in the US that offers graduate assistantships in engineering..
Hi Aladi, thank you for the video. I was offered graduate teaching assistanship as well and will apply for my F1 visa soon. My question is, did you show proof of funding in addition to the graduate assistanship funding on you I-20? My department covers all expenses mentioned on my I-20 and I’m concerned if I still should show proof of funding as extra or not…
I am asking too please
@@favourokunbi1079 Hi, I went to my visa interview last year and they didn't ask anything else from me. The officer only looked at my I-20 and that was it. But of course, this was my experience
@@notyouregulardrama thank you for this information. But did you have any money in the personal funds of your I-20 or it was only in the "funds from school/scholarship section that you had funds"?.
.
Secondly, Did you carry a statement of account with you to the embassy even though they didn't ask for it?
@@favourokunbi1079 It was only the funding my school provided me, and yes, I was prepared just in case. You never know what will be asked from you personally so it's best to have everything you might possibly need with you before going to your interview
@@notyouregulardrama thank you very much, but can I have like your interview transcripts or what questions the visa officer asked you so I can prepare?
Great content and subscribed! Would love to hear what you think of our grad school channel. Thanks.
❤❤
Hey Aladi, i have a question. I have a graduate assistantship from my university which promises to pay 2,500 USD every month for the entire 4 years of my PhD program. Will i still need to provide personal bank statements at the embassy when I go for my visa application or does the graduate assistantship letter from the school cover proof of funding and hence,no need for personal bank statements?
Hey,
To answer your question better, can you answer the following question: Does the assistantship include tuition waiver or you still have to pay tuition by yourself?
@AladiAkoh yes there's a tuition waiver (I don't pay tuition) and I get free health insurance also.
Olayinka Oyegbemi
Wow, $12,000 that is about #4.6 million, hear in Nigeria my Graduate assistant pay for 9 months is #1.1 million that is $2,891 more than 4 times more. Thank for sharing, Nigerian government don't value lecturers, if I have opportunity, I will just go abroad.
Well, you need to consider the cost of living too. Overall, if you get the opportunity to leave, please do!! Good luck.
True talk, do you have a video on cost of living?
I want to know if is possible to use your funding to pay your school fees rent and daily life stuff😭
Is it okay I make a video about it? I think that will be nice. Other students can benefit from it.
Meanwhile, I talked a bit about it in this video: ruclips.net/video/tNwokE7FDIg/видео.html
Is 24000 enough for arizona?
Hello Aladi i will like to apply to your school for my masters
🕊
Can you create another video regarding the other job you took?
Wow they had to collect 144$ that's huge too.
Yeah.
if someone get's an assistantship for the first year does this mean he will get one for sure for the following years until he finishes the program ? or is it possible that first year you have one then next year you will be asked to finance your studies yourself ?
There’s no guarantee. It will depend on things like: how well the student carried out his/her duties in the previous semester, the student’s CGPA and available funding in the department etc.
many thanks for the answer .just one follow up question.
does the non availability of fundings push students to drop out if they don't have another way to fund their studies .especially to us africans tuition fees in the us are not afordable for almost evrybody
I really don’t know. I haven’t seen/heard of any.🤷🏾♀️
Hi dear.
But aside this amount you were paid, your school fees was waived right?
4:05 there lies your answer. 😀 Let me know what you think.
@@AladiAkoh ohhhhh... I get it now 🤣😂
😹😹😹
Your intro is wayyyyyy too long😭😭 had to leave
I am Sorry :(.
