The V6 is a great daily driver. Good for cruising, and enough power for a little fun.

@@laaneeeeee exterior is triple nickel, super nice silver bro and I'm currently looking at different SRT rims to swap out my original alloy wheels, black SRT wheels with red calipers gives it the mean look so I could only imagine how much of a beast yours looks

I love my SXT Challenger. It's 305 hp V6 is more than comparable to the 4 bbl 383 Magnum V8 from 1970 which had a whopping 335 hp. When you own a 1000hp Hellcat, you are obviously going to be underwhelmed with an SXT. If you are a Dodge or muscle car enthusiast, don't be scared away because it's not a V8. You won't be disappointed. The V6, especially in sport mode, is pretty badass. I want a V8 like everyone else, but sometimes you have to be smart financially. My car was a steal at 23k for an SXT plus. The short of it, yeah it's worth owning.
The V6 SXT will move out as well or better than V8 Challengers of the early 70s (318, 340, 383) and use a lot less gas doing it. Pretty impressive for a car that weighs a lot more. You could get a 426 or 440 but not everybody needed or wanted that then either.
How many miles when you bought it?
@jonathanvermillion7263 probably around 60k when i bought it in 2019. It's at 138k now and still runs great!

I bought one in 2008 with the V6. I daily drive it to work. It has 210k miles and has been really reliable. No mods needed lol

@@kirrus4781 just hit 220k. Oil changes every 5k, transmission fluid every 75k, all other fluids every 100k, and I don’t let my tires go wonkey before replacing; about every 50k.

Bought my first v6,,,,,, a 2015 Challenger, I always had V8 cars. I was worried sick that I wouldn't like the V6. Mine is the SXT Plus with the track pack which gives me a larger positraction rear end with upgraded suspension, 20" tires and the bigger front brakes. This car flies. From a stop light or on the Turnpike, or at 100mph, it cruses great, it passes great and it rides with a big car feel.I am not racing it but I drive it fast . No complaints with the V6.
Great to know! Right now I have a '18 Camry LE, but am saving up for either a Charger RT or Chrysler 300 v8 for that extra growl. The camry sounds great in its own way when accelerating, but I want to get that power. Good to know that with the V6 you can still have fun.

How much did it cost?
I bought that same car last month and I love it. I used that 0-60 timer and got 6.0 seconds, I can't imagine needing more than that just driving around town. Had it up to 120 on the freeway and it handled like a dream. When I win the lottery I'll get the hell cat and lose my license.
My cars top 0-60 is 6.2 second :)

Yep, Got my wife the GT..got all the looks, bells and whistles but a great daily driver (mpg,insurance,low overall cost and just enough HP to still make it fun).

There's a seat for every ass. Mine sits in a 2018 SXT purchased 2 weeks ago. Loving it so far!
Is it a good everyday car? I've seen a bunch of videos and it seems the only problem is the massive blind spot in the back right, is that a problem

I drove a 2007 and 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse each for about two years. Compared to them a Challenger has no blindspot and vision is fine. I let the passenger's front seat up just a couple of notches so I can see out the quarter window so no problem. It's land yacht luxury coupe and in no way a sports car. Quick though and MPG is awesome. Got 32 once on a trip to the beach.
Though not a sports car and it wallows a little on the road, at over 100 and up it is very controllable and smooth..

Whatever anyone's opinion is, it's all about the individual. As an owner of the sxt, and a real enthusiast all the way up to Demon level, the Challenger is a beautiful machine, and we thank you for all the positive videos you put out.
I’m a owner of a 1995 Toyota Avalon . Today my company rented a car for me to travel somewhere and it was a SXT base model. Guys there is nothing wrong with this car. I promise you this car has a lots of power to it . SXT all the way. I know there are other beasts out there but this car is fantastic . Good for you if you have a SXT V6.

Yes. Dodge sells more 6 cylinders than any other model. It is their most popular car model seller. 305HP is plenty fast for most who want good milage and a nice ride. Also it would be nice if Dodge can get the HP up to 350HP on the 6s, and maybe the RT to 420HP and the SCAT up 550HP. Who knows maybe the refresh will push it further.

Might have to drive down to PA. just a sea of automatic grocery getters and under stocked overpriced enthusiast cars. Its crazy that they don't, especially when they are the majority of car sales for dodge.
0-60 in 6.3 seconds and quarter mile time of 14.8 seconds. A 350 Iroc Z from the 1980's did the same kind of ballpark times. It really isn't a bad base performer. A great daily driver fo sure.

The new V8 versions are putting down 0 to 60 times that used to be made by Ferrari and Lamborghini. Technology has brought us some amazing vehicles that fit just about any budget.
My ford fusion has more hp than that. And has a better 0-60 time. If I ever get a MOPAR, I’m gonna get one that can at least beat Camrys, velosters, and civics lol. Just can’t imagine driving around a big boat of a muscle car around and not even being able to keep up with economy cars

Since this review SXT now has AWD. I just got a 2022 SXT+ AWD a few weeks ago. It’s an amazing vehicle. When the temps change to below 40 and the AWD/cold weather package kicks in, it is like a different car. Turns into a beast in the winter.

Just bought a "23" SXT Plum Crazy Blacktop and love it. I'm 65 and have owned the early Mopars while growing up. Not many 16 year olds had "68" Coronet R/T 440's, and at 17, a "69" Charger R/T 440 six pack. My hi speed days are over and this is the perfect Mopar for the classic look, easy on the wallet and very fun to drive. Great video!

Why so much hate on a v6 it looks fantastic and is great for daily driving, if you want more power then just get a v8. I think we should be bashing the guys that have a 4 cylinder and put exhaust systems on them to make them sound like a mail truck 😂

😂 Man I just got my V6 SXT Plus in White Knuckle Clearcoat with the Black racing strips and Blacktop package! Leather seats bigger rims, and UConnect screen. I can’t believe all the hate these V6’s get.. I’ve only had it for 4 days and I’m in love!!! When I pay off my V6 a bit and still have the itch for a V8 maybe I’ll get one but for now I’m completely happy with my choice! Oh and not to mention.. I have a CDL A to protect.. a V8 would get me in so much trouble! 😂😆

I bought a 2019 SXT a couple months ago and I love it. I drive round trip 60 miles a day so a V8 was not economical and more than I could afford. The car before this one was a 2007 Honda Civic so my Challenger feels so stepped up! The interior plus the tint makes it feel so chill inside. Thanks for saying nice stuff about this car, I love mine.
I'm almost in the same situation. Sure it would be nice to have giant V8 but I don't go any place where I can drive 160 and I don't want 12 miles per gallon...lol
I’m right there with you. I went from a 2007 Hyundai Sonata to a 14’ Challenger SXT Plus. It’s Rallye Redline, and the original owner had it customized haha! Beautiful car, and a wonderful daily cruiser for sure. I feel like most people really don’t understand how big that freaking trunk is though. I can fit just about anything in it!

The Scat Packs are AMAZING! I did things backwards and drove the Scat Pack first, but thought I'd be OK with an SXT since they're cheaper. The SXT definitely left me wanting!

My daily driver is a Challenger SXT+, and for a V6, it's great! I get 30MPG highway, and about 22 City. It's got enough power that I don't have to worry about getting onto or off of the highway, and it's a Challenger, so it looks GREAT!

My 22 year-old son bought a base '20 SXT new for $21K. It's the bread-and-butter car for Mopar and inexpensive way to a great driving, great-looking ride for folks looking for a first new car. It's faster 0-60 than almost all the cars from the generation before, and they corner better than most from all preceding generations of cars, so it's silly for folks to talk down about these wonderful cars.
i just bought a cherry red/black trim SXT myself, in my own words "my dream car" checked off my bucket list. Love the ride, so comfortable and very smooth ; )...

I have a 2018 GT. V6 with awd is great. Its a perfect daily driver for all weather conditions. Glad the normal SXT has sport mode, but the GT has performance pages and many features of the higher packages. 2 piston brakes, leather, moon roof, paddle shifters, etc. Plus the awd has a different suspension. A modified charger pursuit suspension. Def sits higher, curbs are no problem.
Please review the awd. You reviewed the charger awd but the challenger awd is a different breed.. Sport mode and performance pages are great. Saving for a supercharger myself.
Sport mode puts the car in awd. Being able to force awd is nice. I use it when pulling out into traffic. The awd will kick in automatically from certain weather conditions. I dont like the 40 temp one. It could be a perfect sunning day, but under 40 and it forces awd. Losing gas milage when awd is not needed.
sxt’s are great and cool, I’m not a v6 hater cause I’m a 5.7 so I get the good ole scat pack talk 24/7. No matter what we all got these cars to enjoy them. 🤓

Your reviews over the Sxt and Sxt plus have been very helpful. At first I was real big on having a V8 but now when it comes to practical sense, the Sxt trims will do just fine for me.

The reality is, and this is what I'm facing as I go to test drive an sxt today, is that no one cares what's under the hood. It looks great, and unless you're racing...YOU DON'T NEED THE POWER. I'd argue that just adding a cold air (or even short ram) intake for less than $300 gives just enough of a boost to make the SXT feel right.

💪🏽Test drove the SXT with the Black Top trim package and the Smoke Show exterior color with dual black racing stripe. Looks fantastic. What I remember the most is how quick this V6 is. In Sport Mode it went from 60mph to 90mph in a few seconds, very impressed indeed.

I’ve had my 2019 SXT AWD for 6 months, love it. Destroyer Gray and I get TONS of random complements. And with winter coming on, I’m excited to keep it going on the snow and ice here in Indiana.
i've got the 20 SXT AWD in Frostbite and it's amazing in the snow of Buffalo NY. My only knock on her so far is the factory wipers are junk...lol

Dodge is killin it with the charger and challenger. If they could get the v6 up to around 330hp and a solid 300tq I dont think anyone could complain especially with AWD.
I got a sxt it gets the job done, obviously the best daily driver out of all the engines, but it feels slow as hell after a while. Do yourself a favor and never drive a scatpack if u got a v6 u never wanna go back

I just bought a 2017 GT (V6 AWD) - I bought it online via Carvana without test driving. This car is badass. I've had super fast BMWs, Corvettes, GTIs, and a 69 Firebird. I can tell you that this car is plenty fast. This car cruises like a BMW and when you punch it or go fast on tight curves it drives more like a compact sports car. I'm literally in love with this car and soooo glad I got the V6. I'm doing 80mph @ 24mpg, 100mph @ 20mpg. I live in western Michigan and last week drove in a snowstorm with snow on highway 31 @ 80mph passing trucks and SUVs with no slippage or issues. This car is great and totally worth buying. I'll argue this car against a V8 any day.
It was driving an SXT Charger for 4 weeks as a rental that made me decide that the Charger is what I wanted as my forever car, starting with the R/T and now the 392 Scat Pack Stars and Stripes that is my baby, so the SXT should get mad love. On a side note, we should start a new drinking game for each time Racer X says "end of the day" :) (Counted 13 in this video)

Just got a 2022 SXT and so far love it
2016 Challenger V6 Gunmetal paint and extra clean. Compliments everyday.
2018 sxt is my daily driver. I've had two problems with it. The first was just water getting into the center of the light on the trunk lid. The second was more of an issue. The transmission had a hard shift between 2 and 3 and would throw a cel and lock in gear until taken to a shop. Dodge did change the trans valve and the trunk. Other then that love the car.

I don't daily drive my Scat Pack Shaker and I would like to have a SXT to be my daily! Still has the Great Old School look!💯 With it being less expensive I would probably have an Eye-Popping Wrap put on it!!😃👍

Helpful. I'd recently picked up an SXT and unfortunately the negative people and their hatred of V6s were starting to get to me. I do love it though. I'm within a week of turning 21. Just needed a daily driver for work, and this fits the bill. Besides, I reckon I could upgrade later!
Funny. I did end up upgrading about a year later. Still love my SXT for the time that I had it!

Say what you want about a challenger V6 but I've watched a Dodge rep on youtube say the reason why a GT version is only available on V6 models is due to sales. Dodge sells more V6 models than V8s.

We borrowed one for our local weekly drag racing (legal at track). The V6 was a dial in bracket racing God. Left it in drive. Hit throttle on yellow light before green. Reaction times within a tenth. Ran 5 times all within 1mph and again 1 tenth. Sure it wasn't a rocketship but a darn fun night. Nothing broke. Zero prep (other than a shiny detail wash) and used 87octane. We only checked fluids and air pressure(we did not alter to race). Full on street trim. Such nice looking cars. We all had a blast. Everyone had a turn. More fun as a group than racing my V8 Vega Panel Wagon(which only I drive).
Currently driving a SXT myself and love it. I got it for the looks because it just looks so masculine.

Why because a Scat Pack is not good as a daily driver, and going to the pump more often!
@@SIDVENOM No, because some people use the V6's as winter beaters. Because that's all that the Dodge Caravan Challengers are good for.
