Here is Rose doing "Indian mukbang" and I ( an Indian) is making 3 types of kimchi at home 😅 Food for sure is truly a global entity connecting the whole world.
Nice Mukbang!! Actually, "Tikka Massala" is not Indian originally, this is a type of Indian curry that has been completely invented by British people because curry recipes and Indian food have been so popular in the UK for decades that curry is actually the most eaten dish in the UK. The two cultures mixed and exchanged their food so much that you can now find curry recipes that exist only in Indian restaurants that are located in the UK. And this is a very relevant "case study" for the notion of globalized culture through food !
This is my favorite kind of Munching Mondays. When you talk about social issues. ❤️ Edited to add that I started eating less meat in May of 2020, so after this whole pandemic thing started and because of it. I went on a first date at a place called Kuma’s Korner. The menu is full of insane burgers named after heavy metal bands. You can get any burger with the impossible burger. We sat at the bar, had some drinks, talked a lot, ate these massive burgers, and we’re still together two years later ☺️
Love the distinction between the emotional reason for going vegan vs the rational/philosophical reason. The emotional reason is why I went vegetarian. After that, I was too scared/lazy to inform myself about the animal industry. One year later, I read Peter Singer's Animal Liberation and Melanie Joy's Why we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows and went vegan right away. It's important to have the facts right and have a clear vision of what your values are.
We also read peter singer in my philosophy class in university and his writings were one of the reasons my mind was open to the whole concept. amazing.
If eating noises bother you, eat along with her. It's SO much better. 😍 I love the Beyond Meat burger so much. The Impossible burger just doesn't do it for me. There's not enough burger. 😅
I just loooove it when you talk about social issues🥺. I’ve been struggling to go vegan for a few months already, but I try to incorporate more and more vegan alternatives in my diet. Also, thank you for talking about speciesism, you may have helped me find a new theme for my dissertation on early modern women, gender and masculinity✌🏼
You have touched on every point I would've thought of relating to the importance of veganism, I have been vegan for 4 years and I feel it is easy and normalized to eat vegan living in NYC but when I visit my family In the midwest I definitely feel like I'm not taken seriously and even taken as a joke. I try to explain my points and the importance of veganism to not only me but the world but sometimes its hard for me to get my point across. I also feel as though it is helping me along my spiritual journey (the mind, body and soul). Thank you for spreading your knowledge on the topic and helping people like me maybe educate my family with the right words and information.
Natalie Portman talked about animal rights in why she’s being Vegetarian and Vegan - she was vegetarian to start then went Vegan, but during her pregnancy went back to Vegetarian because she was struggling with hitting her vitamin marks. She’s been a big part of PETA for a while. But, some people put her down when she went back to Vegetarian for 9 months because she was struggling during pregnancy. Emily Deschanel from Bones is a dedicated vegan for ethical reasons and has been since she was in high school. She’s very outspoken about it.
Good points girl!!!! The only downside to watching your muckbangs is... they make me feel constantly hungry!!!!!! Also, i dont like the texture of meat... so i will pass all these meatlike burgers. love the veggies too much
Omg Rose, when you mentioned how much vegans get hate and vegan tiktok, that hit so close to home for me very recently. I’ve been vegan since March, but haven’t been extremely outspoken about my ethical beliefs. It wasn’t until I recently had a “zoom” party ( Social distancing you know) when the topic of that vegan teacher emerged. I didn’t know a lot of these teens, but they started attacking her for her ethical beliefs and essentially bashing veganism. I didn’t think it was the time and place to start arguing with them, but I was so uncomfortable since they had no idea I was vegan and kept making false claims I could easily debunk. Not to mention that they were the most hypocritical SJWs , defending the rights of the oppressed, besides those of the most oppressed group of course. I even felt silenced on tiktok to the point where I had to delete the app because I was getting attacked for supporting vegan activists. Afterward, I felt so guilty for being the silent, courteous vegan who feared standing up for what was right. I realized that even if I’m standing alone, it’s important to unapologetically defend animals’ rights and to debunk the false claims haters spew, or change will never occur ✊🌱
A nice story how I became vegan. I was in the store where sea food is sold. There were a lot of dead fish and an aquarium with those little colourful aquarium fish. It felt so weird at that moment so I became a vegetarian from that day. And nearly a month after that I started my first steps to going vegan. My parents still think that I'm joking and regularly offering me meat or dairy 😐
I don't know why people "slate" Vegans. I admire Vegans for their ethics, beliefs and compassion. It takes strength of character to be Vegan because it's not just going for the "quick fix" option of eating a bit of dead animal! So if you are Vegan be proud...and yes...do tell everyone! ❤ ( I get the whole Burger in your face thing...that happened to me when I went Veggie! )
I agree as I hate hypocrites about fur, dogs and animal cruelty too, although I became vegetarian to lose weight, but the opposite happened as I'm constantly hungry!
You are very right on your points on veganism. I spent the past 50 years believing that a meal is not a meal without meat. Last year I signed up for a class in CHIP. Complete Health Improvement Program. I did this because of my health. I was told things from a doctor that contradicted every thing that was taught to me. Plant based diet was what I was on. I searched everything I could find on the subject which led me to veganism and the documentary "Earthlings".
I think one of the strongest predictors for someone being changed and influenced by their environment is someone saying "there's no way I would ever do -blank- in that situation." The inability for them to see the way other people are impacted by their social environment, etc. probably means that they wouldn't see themselves being changed. Usually I look at it in terms of historical context, but I think it works for your political culture one too. Also that monopoly study is so so important!! What a cool way to illustrate that the more wealth/privilege you have the more you'll get (generally) and peoples' reluctance to acknowledge privilege and then attribute it exclusively (which I think the exclusive part is the problem) to hard work.
If you want to do educational videos I'm all for it. I would watch all of them, Rose! We need more people who talk about it on a regular basis and you already have a huge audience. I think it would be a great idea. But I could also understand if you don't want to get into the hot water (getting death threats e.g.) as a female it's a little harder, I think. Why I went vegan? Got into watching documentaries out of bordom, Gary Yourofsky and James Wildman (101 reasons to go vegan) made me go vegan over night. I was actually mad at myself for not seeing this for so long. So yeah, I was I big hypocrite as well. But yeah I'm so glad I went vegan (going on 4 years this upcoming summer), I would never go back, best decision in my entire life yada yada you know the deal lol. Luv ya
Hey, Rose, great mukbang! :) Love your thoughts on veganism etc in this one! Regarding That Vegan Teacher ... I'm not on tiktok, can't stomach it, but I found this question (why's she so problematic) in a FB group Friendly and pragmatic vegans and vegetarians, and here was a member's response: "Oh she’s hella problematic. She’s said coming out as vegan is worse than coming out as gay. She’s said you’re going to hell if you’re not a vegan. She disregards human rights violations. She came after a deaf man with Cerebral Palsy and specific dietary requirements and told him he was trash and needed to do better (he’s working on a Marine Bio degree and helping to save the oceans but whatever). Shes incredibly ableist. She comes after those who can not afford to be vegan (yes veggies are cheap but not if you live in a food desert, and work several jobs to stay afloat). She’s said hella racist things. No, she IS as bad as all that." For me, that was quite enough to form an opinion.
And here's another comment: "I can’t remember it word for word, but she’s also gone up against Native Americans living in reservations, saying they need to ‘do better’ and ‘there’s no excuse for not being vegan’, when many members of these communities have stepped forward and explained that there are significant restrictions re groceries etc. That on top of all the disgusting, ableist comments she’s made make her beyond problematic"
omg thank you for sharing. I had no idea she was this bad. I cannot understand for the life of me how you can advocate for animals but be so blind when it comes to human issues?!?! She's not a good representation of veganism and spreading the message through that kind of behaviour is going to create more anti-vegans and extremists on the other side. such a disappointment.
@@CheapLazyVegan exactly. It would be nice hearing your thoughts on her either way (make that money! 😉) Also, I appreciate your channel in general, I find it a really comfortable and non judgemental place (with good info) for both vegans and non vegans 😊
From a vegetarian transitioning to vegan, I absolutely love your videos and these types of conversations. Keep them alive - don't apologize for your truth. Is it possible to do an all fruit video in the future? To answer your question the reason I gave up meat I was just tired of eating meat.I didn't like the way my body felt and when I transitioned- game changer! I slept better ran faster and I was more alert, productive and energetic. I would NEVER go back and you're spot on about the emotional hangover (lack of better words) bc you feel like the odd one out but after a while, I stopped rationalizing my lifestyle to people. Life is good and thank you for this amazing video 🤗😎🍇🍈🥥🥝🥑🍅🌶🍄🥦
Rose, listening to you makes me feel better. Pretty much everything you say is so relatable! And I agree with you, beyond tastes better to me than impossible
OMG YES ROSE THANK YOU!!! FINALLY SOMEONE'S TALKING ABOUT LEFTISTS ATTITUDE TOWARDS VEGANISM and how many people (who claim to be anti-discrimination and woke) are claiming that veganism is a privilege. I saw so many claiming that veganism is inherently classist, ableist, and racist! it honestly drove me mad. I just wish that more BIPOC vegans would speak up about these absurd claims. I think making educational videos is not only good but VERY necessary given the current backlash veganism is getting (especially from people who see discrimination in the world and fight against yet they stop when it comes to veganism) i hope to see more videos about this.
Hadn't watched one of your videos in a while, and really enjoyed this video! Loved the issues you spoke on, and really wanted to be in the room there with you to be like "yessss guuuurl, say it how it is" and discuss it with you hehehe. Food looked GOOD!
I loooove the Impossible burger and get it more than I should from Burger King. I also get the beyond meat burgers from the grocery store. Idk I dont notice much of a difference? They're both good! I dont really have a preference.
I know this is an older video (I'm working my way back through your mukbangs today, lol) but since you asked why we went vegan, I'd love to answer. I went vegan in 2017 because of my dog, I thought, why protect and love my pet so strongly, but eat other animals? Would I accept her being treated that way? Heck no! So, in her honor, I went vegan! Sadly, my love passed in 2019, but I will forever proudly carry my her in my vegan heart, she changed me for the better, forever.
I like the set up of this, its sort of like we get to have lunch with you and talk about current events. I miss things like that, been couped for too long with very little socialization. 🙂
Rose, These issues bother you because you are smart and a realist. You don’t live in a cloud or on an island somewhere, therefore your brain is always working hard to learn and understand things about morality, integrity and equity. Thank goodness you have a good brain that you use and pass on the information you acquire. Rose, just keep keeping it real. 🌸
I like the Beyond Burger better than the Impossible Burger as well. And to build vegan awareness during January I've been posting Vegan Celebrities but I always make sure they are still vegan and it's not a fad for them. I'm just trying to make my friends think more about the issues. I went vegan for ethical reasons and then the health benefits were a bonus!
I started watching your videos trying to find food ideas for my fiance who recently decided to go vegan. And I had never heard of speciesism. So I'd love to hear more.
Rose, u reminded me of " Mommy Tang " ( on a lot of her videos ) when she would take a BIG bite, with a fizzy drink on the side ___ & make sounds of delight over the food tasting yummy ! I really ENJOYED watching your video too Rose & excited to watch more of your videos !
You said it, because the impossible is more "neutral" than the beyond I like it better. 😂 I'm vegan since about 8 years so I guess the beyond is a bit too intense for me, but I still like it. Oh gosh yeah the obvious hypocrisy is slowly killing me inside too. I went vegan because of Gary Yourofski's school speech (I watched it on yt) and he not only showed disturbing footage but also talked about speciesism (it was the first time I heard about speciesism). You're right I think too what keeps people vegan is knowledge (especially about speciesism). After I went vegan I kept informing myself, I especially wanted to know how farming animals were treated where I'm from (Switzerland), because most vegan documentaries are from the USA and ppl think it's different here. But the truth is it's still speciesism no matter where. Even if the animals were treated a bit better here, they're still not free and will eventually be slaughtered. But how can we force people to learn something outside of schools?! 🙈 I send almost every week articles to my family and they are still not vegan.. What makes me hopeful though is that I do see changes (although people don't seem to change). I see not only more and more vegan products in stores but they also showed on TV that some farmers stopped producing cows milk and transitioned to oat milk production instead. They still have animals on the farm but they aren't products anymore because people adopted them so they can finally live in peace. Changes like that make me so happy and I know they are only doing this because there's enough demand for plant-based products.
Veg In is the bomb!! The tofuka is amazing...thank you for highlighting this incredible business! I laughed because we can literally hear you chewing lol
I know this is several months later, but on the subject of people relapsing for one reason or another. I am not fully vegan, not yet anyways, but the vast majority of what I eat is. Years ago I had seen the videos from the slaughterhouses and dairy farms on a DvD given to my by someone from PETA at a music festival. I couldn't eat meat for probably a few weeks after that, but once I did again, the memories never left my mind. I always kept hoping that I'd find some way to give it up. Turned out at some point I had been bitten by a lone-star tick and acquired an alpha-gal allergy that helped force me to stop eating red meat, because it would make me sick and experience a painful reaction. Not long after that, what little tolerance I had to lactose up and left making it so I couldn't consume dairy at all. It may not be the way most people end up going vegan, but I'm glad that it happened and have been pleasantly surprised at how wrong people are about the food.
Totally agree about the specistism. Really understanding it keeps you vegan. Most people around me don’t understand it. Love Earthling Ed he turned me vegan for sure. I started and he taught me so much so I’m still vegan thanks to him. I started learning about veganism bc it intrigued me. I didn’t understand it so I just started learning. I went vegetarian. Then I decided to go vegan. I realized how I can’t justify eating and hating animals for my enjoyment. I would never hurt any animals. Why pay someone to do it for me. Why do we hurt pigs and not dogs? So many things and it spoke to me deep down and knew it was the right thing to do. I was scared bc of the social aspect but decided the animals are worth my discomfort. I agree Rose it’s so frustrating when other people talk about other discrimination then make fun of you for being vegan. So misunderstood. But I didn’t understand before either so I try to be patient.
You made some really amazing point about veganism that really hit me emotionally. You're so right. I wish everyone understood this logic like vegans do
@18:00 This has happened before in history. Similar things were true during the 1930s / Great Depression and here in America FDR was instrumental in turning it around. He proposed a top tax rate of 100% (93% top tax rate was negotiated with Congress and became law for a time in America). He created social security and other things. He was elected four times and succeeded by his vice president, Harry Truman. America had 20 straight years of liberal democratic rule in the early to mid 20th century!
you should check out Mexie (the vegan vanguard) youtube videos and podcasts, the podcast epsidoe is actually called "why leftists should be vegan". She is from Canada too and shes leftist and vegan and talks about the same things you discussed how its frustrating when so many people that support human rights dont support veganism. also all this food looks soo good :)
Omg I understand what you mean for the beyond burgers I love them but after a while I’m bored because the flavor takes over I tried to marinade them to take the taste away and it just doesn’t so if I’m craving it I’ll just get it other than that I prefer impossible
Beyond!!! I always said the same, Beyond so much more taste, I think most people are looking for this so it doesnt get lost in burger, but I do admit impossible has better mouth feel.
Indian food yaay finally I'm so glad to see my fav Vegan mukbang actually enjoy our food. And ooh Samosaaaaaa I miss it so much Truth be told I would have been full with the impossible burger
Great vid as usual, i myself prefer the beyond meat I feel it fries up more meat like the impossible is good as well but I feel the taste is bland just my opinion tho
I started watching Earthlings and decided to go vegan after about 10 minutes. Was horrified by all the things we did to animals. I knew a fair bit of it but didn't realise the sheer scale of exploitation and how brutal most of it is. Watched Gary Yourofsky's speech straight after which just confirmed my choice so started researching how to get nutrients etc. Never looked back, never will.

@@CheapLazyVegan yesss would love that!
@@CheapLazyVegan also totally recommend Peter Singer's "The expanding circle" to anyone! It helped me form a clearer vision of my moral values
What a spread! The burger alone would take me out lol
You are really one of my favorite vegans out there 😍🥰❤️ I love how you think about things.
Favorite part of Monday mornings!
awww
The slow zoom on the devastated burger killed me 🤣 Real moment
i wanna get wooden utensils every time I watch your channel because it makes the food look like it tastes 10x better
If eating noises bother you, eat along with her. It's SO much better. 😍
I love the Beyond Meat burger so much. The Impossible burger just doesn't do it for me. There's not enough burger. 😅
hhaha yay for Team Beyond Burger! LOL.
@@CheapLazyVegan Hell yeah! 😍
35:00 I agree 100%. I like your point of view. Like people don’t make the connection. We are hypocrites.
We just reviewed a impossible burger in our latest episode too. I personally prefer impossible. Diana is undecided. 🙌🏽
Where did you get your wooden fork and spoon?
I realized that even if I’m standing alone, it’s important to unapologetically defend animals’ rights and to debunk the false claims haters spew, or change will never occur ✊🌱
i feel you on this one dude..
I went vegan for health but during the process of researching veganism, animals became the most motivation for me.
@@13masage She could also be a fake trying to make vegans and the movement look bad. Sounds like it to me.
@@Silzaress that was one of the comments too, but others confirmed she's actually a vegan, albeit an extremist one.
You are pure sunshine in this crazy world!
Also Evanna Lynch! I met her in person in 2019 I think? Birmingham and many others promote the ethics of veganism.
And know I want Mukbang for breakfast...
Hadn't watched one of your videos in a while, and really enjoyed this video! Loved the issues you spoke on, and really wanted to be in the room there with you to be like "yessss guuuurl, say it how it is" and discuss it with you hehehe. Food looked GOOD!
Love your argumentation!!!!!!
It feels so good hearing you talking about the hypocrisy of people when it comes to speciisme. Greetings from France!❤️
I loooove the Impossible burger and get it more than I should from Burger King. I also get the beyond meat burgers from the grocery store. Idk I dont notice much of a difference? They're both good! I dont really have a preference.
You should try the beyond famous star at Carlos JR. Its so good.
Wow you are so beautiful, the way the light hits you, and the soft look of your skin, hair and features, God bless you and your beauty 🙏
Moby is also great example of famous vegan activist : )
true!!! he's awesome!
Adorable. Vegan for the animals. And a foodie. MARRY ME!!!!
Loved what you are talking about throughout this whole video ❤️ You definitely have your head screwed on straight 👏🏼
This was a great talk ❤ and so true. Thank you!
Love the local business support!!!!!
i love u so much, thanks for all! from a vegetarian canadian girl:)
Everything looks so good 😍
It's been so long since I've watched a mukbang. Always watch these when I'm eating😂 the burger looked sooooo good 😍but the Tikka masala 😭❤️
Have you ever considered doing mukbung streams on Twitch? It would be fun to have these conversations in real time.
I went vegan for health first, then over the years ethics and sustainability grew on me too.
Love your content, Rose!
I prefer the beyond but impossible is good too. i like to get the impossible grounds for cooking because they have no flavor.
Love the death stare at 22:12 😂
You made some really amazing point about veganism that really hit me emotionally.
Can watch her eat all day, so cute.
you should check out Mexie (the vegan vanguard) youtube videos and podcasts, the podcast epsidoe is actually called "why leftists should be vegan". She is from Canada too and shes leftist and vegan and talks about the same things you discussed how its frustrating when so many people that support human rights dont support veganism. also all this food looks soo good :)
Great video
Omg I understand what you mean for the beyond burgers I love them but after a while I’m bored because the flavor takes over I tried to marinade them to take the taste away and it just doesn’t so if I’m craving it I’ll just get it other than that I prefer impossible
Beyond!!! I always said the same, Beyond so much more taste, I think most people are looking for this so it doesnt get lost in burger, but I do admit impossible has better mouth feel.
Indian food yaay finally I'm so glad to see my fav Vegan mukbang actually enjoy our food. And ooh Samosaaaaaa I miss it so much
Truth be told I would have been full with the impossible burger
The impossible Burger is sooo good! 😍 Stop making us jealous pls haha 😅😋

I wish you were my aunt or something. You can teach people some things! You look gorgeous by the way ☺🔥
Great vid as usual, i myself prefer the beyond meat I feel it fries up more meat like the impossible is good as well but I feel the taste is bland just my opinion tho
@ 15:00 Bernie I think is a real exception.
Earthlings will definitely do that to you. That was when I stopped eating dairy/eggs!
I really love the incogmeato burgers over beyond or impossible
Noice!
Lol I’m the same with Indian food! I can’t remember the names of what I like so I just order whatever and it’s usually great.
