Rose eating food that literally just came out of BOILING soup reminds me of the tik tok “my mom flipping tortillas” meme. I literally have to wait at least 10 minutes for my food to cool down.

@@CheapLazyVegan Don't do that! My father in law died of Thoracic Cancer and the doctors said he got it from repeatedly burning his throat by eating foods that were burning him internally. You can blister the inside by consuming boiling hot food. Constant injury also results in the nerve endings being so damaged that you no longer feel it.

When you said, “obviously you know better because you’re vegan.”
This plays into people believing that you’re better than them... which was honestly something very hard for me to come to terms with. I would say certain things with no intention of offending anyone, and I had to backtrack and apologize because I did offend. I realized what I said, did sound like I thought I was better... so I learned to just keep it to myself. I struggled with identifying with myself because I thought I was acting like a self righteous asshole.
Although, I think the moral stance of the vegan collective is making a lot of conscious decisions... that are beyond themselves and for the concern of others. Which is super important and one of the greatest things you can do. And it can be done in so many ways outside of veganism too! I don’t think any individual is better than anyone else because we all have good and bad traits.. we are human after all.
I ate meat for the larger part of my life and before veganism stuck for me, I’ve tried before and failed. I knew about the horrors of the world and still ate meat. I do think I know better now.. but that thought is just something I keep to myself.
When I first went vegan, I would try to force people into learning about it, judge, and debate. I made veganism my entire identity at one point because I was just so proud of myself. I was incredibly passionate and I wanted everyone to know what I was doing. This is just something that I think comes naturally, but eventually it gets better and you learn to navigate through all of this. I never really mentioned I was vegan when people didn’t ask me, but like clv, I never really even say that word. I just mention the things I don’t eat.
I have a couple of years under my belt now and I’ve definitely learned a lot about finding my place and what makes me and others around me the most comfortable. Its really all a learning process.
Anyway, what we are doing is super important. And never let someones fragile ego make you feel bad for doing something so great. Just think of veganism like a secret club and let people find their own way into it. If they’re curious, share what you know. If not, leave it be and just try not to explode when you really wanna say something. Good thing we have the internet because i’d probably go crazy without the advice from others.

18:34 I don’t care if people think I’m preaching. I refuse to sit down at a table with people eating animal products. If someone was eating human flesh, would people just be cool with it and share a table with them. “I’m not telling you to stop being a cannibal, I just don’t want to be. Do what you want.” No. Making a stand and demonstrating how unacceptable eating animals is by not being at the table plants a seed. Many.

Its your loss if you refuse to socialize with others lol. What exactly do you think you're accomplishing? Also... comparing your own species to other animal species is just wrong.

Ahaha, well, this isnt particular unhealthy, just really high carb. If you made this with all vegetables and tofu, and either cooking the noodles apart or no noodles at all, and the same broth mixture, it would be a banging and super healthy meal.

I'm consider plant based not vegan. There was a lady in my office, who sat next to me, who was a vegan who only ate like 31 different foods. She did not eat gmo veggies or fruit. She only at organic. So her choices in food were slim oickins. She ate dried mushrooms from a bag all day, seriously dried mushrooms, from a bag. She was sick all the time and cold in 90 weather. She had a space heater in our office in the summer time. But she was the judgey one. She looked at my food all time and made rude comments. I ignored her all the while I enjoyed my huge salads, bowls of vegan Ramon, pasta with cashew cream,etc... So my point is as plant based or vegans we can be very rude and judgey.
She no longer works with me. FYI. And every one in my office is alway curious about what I'm eating. But not rude.
My doctor and I decided this food choice for my health. The veganism may come later or not. But that's my business, no one else's.
Love this man and need to find that Korean paste!!

I call myself plant based as well instead vegan because I still eat honey. But I’ve had some great vegan friends who encouraged me that it’s a journey for everyone so it’s not such a judgement thing for people who might do veganism a little different from someone else.

The Plant Based Kitchen Do you wear leather and fur, go to zoos, ride horses? It may be more than honey. Speaking of, there’s a documentary called “more than honey” you may benefit from seeing.

ॐ Boi I do live pretty sustainably and have cut out the use of animal products as much as I can. Thanks for the recommendation. I really liked the The Game Changers documentary as well.
