Canada is killing it with vegan fast food, the United States needs to seriously step up their game! Those Samyang fire noodles are my FAVORITE thing ever, I cannot get enough. 🤤
I've run three half marathons and the best thing I can say is to run splits with alternating walking and running. The walking phase helps your muscles recover. Also, the sleep you get the night before the race is not as important as the sleep you get the night before that...does that make sense? Good luck on your half, Rose!
I love these videos! Also, maybe try pouring some plant milk in with the sauce and the noodles will cool off a little? A video where you try to make your own version of the spicy noodles would be fun!!
I've done several 1/2 marathons, so here's my advice. The night before stay to low fat, high carb foods and go to bed as early as possible. Wake up as early as you can, and eat something like a bagel with a thin layer of peanut butter for lots of carbs and some protein and fat and eat it as early as you can. Don't drink too much water before, just enough to be hydrated and sip water throughout the run. Energy gels are great if you can stomach them, try one on a training run before the race. After the race, eat and drink whatever you feel like, just don't plan to go anywhere that involves lots of standing, walking, or doing anything for the rest of the day or the next day, because your legs will be tired the day of and sore the day after. Plan to watch movies and order delivery food. Good luck!
thank you so much!!! I love all these tips! always wondered what I should be eating before... haha oh Lord, good luck to me. Can't wait to watch movies and eat delivery after!
Can’t wait to hear all about your half-marathon experience!! I am running my first half-marathon this November ☺️ I am so excited! Good luck Rose, stay amazing ✨
We 🇳🇱 have vegan KFC burger but recently some KFCs have cut it back on their menu BUT Burger King has now Vegan 'chicken' burger and a plant based 'meat' burger which is NOT vegan friendly because it is made on the same grill as the meat.
I ran the London marathon after getting drunk 3 days before. The time was still under 4 hours but so much pain. Avoid alcohol and get up early on the day
I am running my first half marathon in Victoria next month! Biggest thing for me is keeping fueled during the longer distances, I notice a big difference in my energy when I have a gel or syrup pack around 10km.
You should try those restaurants in Montréal: Momo sushis Casa kaizen Nopalito Bowhead pud Tendresse Maynard Green panther Obscène vegan Lola rosa Sapa (végé) Yuan (végé) Lov McGill They're all vegan and Delicious. This are more in the downtown area, but we have so many all around the city. Momo sushis, nopalito and Tendresse are my favorite.
What are the crunchy yellow things on the same plate as the fire noodles? I am guessing daikon radish, but how are they processed to make them yellow? And yes...still enjoying your mukbangs.
Can you share the brand of the spicy noodles?? I’d like to try and find them because you made them look so delicious! Btw I’m a big fan of the mukbang videos and the random topics
Slices of pickled daikon radish. I've personally never tried them, but they look so good! I've seen them at my local Asian stores, but they're always SO HUGE and I'm afraid to commit to the purchase, lol.
korean pickled radish - it's basically like a palette cleanser / refreshing thing to eat between bites! Korean people like to eat it with things like noodles and all kinds of other things. they're like sweet salty pickled goodness.
Love this! Half marathon advice. Hydrate well at the wedding and 2 drinks sounds like a plan. Get up early and drink water with your food to get the pipes running. Good luck!
I love your mukbangs, they are actually the only one's I watch cuz the other one's kinda disgust me because of the animal products and the ridiculous amount of food. It also helps me feel less guilty about indulging sometimes, cuz you're healthy and still allow yourself to do this so I feel that I also can, If that makes any sense lol
awww thanks so much! I'm glad it shows a somewhat "healthier" and balanced side of mukbang. you can definitely indulge sometimes while being healthy most of the time! that's my philosophy :)
As a veteran marathon runner, I can tell you that you are ready for this race. You ran 11.6 miles today, half-marathon is 13.1 miles (as you know!)...You've got this - Start easy, build up to run the middle part of the race a little harder, then ease into the finish. Let us know how it goes! And FYI - two nights before the race (sleep wise) is more important than the night before the race. Enjoy the wedding too!
OMG if you are in Montreal you HAVE to eat at Chuchai they have some of THE best vegan food oh and you could try Pushap (it's a little north but worth it) if you like Indian food, it's amazing too.
heyy, which noodles are you eating? i've been wanting to try korean instant noodles but i don't know which ones are vegan and i end up not buying any. love your mukbangs ❤️❤️
I get Nongshim’s Soon Veggie ramen (the green package). It’s actually marked as vegan rather than being accidentally vegan. Flavour is great and it has a kick but is intended to be mild. I just add some sriracha if I want more.
For your Montreal trip: you need proof of vaccination to dine in. I recommend Sushi Momo, Burger Fiancé, La Beignerie, Chu Chai, Yuan Vegetarien, Resto Maynard..to name a few. Enjoy!
Hey! I'm from Montreal and I would suggest the donuts at la beignerie(they're all vegan!), Momo sushi, Umami ramen, Nopalito, Casa Kaizen, Burger Fiance, Sham, Maynard, Chez Zac (pizza), Lola Rosa, Lov, Chuchai. For desserts : Muscade, Sophie Sucré, Zébulon, café Tuyo, Café Dei Campi (but I think they're on vacation right now). There's so much more but I don't know how long you'll be there!
Before I discovered you about a year or so ago, I never had noodles. Now I’m literally drooling but too lazy to make some right now. Also when I discovered you I started eating broccoli 🥦 for the first time ever and now I almost always add it to my stir fires( unless I don’t have any 🥦 in the house) 🤗🤗
just wanted to tell you how you inspired me to buy chopsticks awhile ago! i am trying to work on eating slower, however some foods are so hard i will keep a fork nearby to help but i'm trying so hard it looks so fancy plus helps slow me down, i can be a fast eater esp the first meal after a workout lol
I just did my first marathon last month. After months of training right as I was reaching the I tripped, fell and they announced my name * face palm* Doing a ten mile race this weekend and half at the start of october. Good luck!
Totally different in different areas. For example, a lot of noodles in the USA are not vegan, for ramen. I spent last month in Denmark with my in laws and they had tons and tons of vegan noodles, including "Chicken" flavored ones that were just chicken seasoning with no animal bi product in them. They had non-vegan ones too, but way way way more vegan options that I'd thought they'd have.
In Montreal you have to go to Umami ramen, Sushi momo, Yuan (asian), Sham vegan(Middle Eastern), you have to try the vegan plate at Boustan (libanese), Restaurant Radis (vegan pizza), Café Dei Campi for coffee and pastries, Maynard (American), Bistro Tendresse, Swirl (ice cream). If you like microbreweries I love the Pub La Cale too, it's the first zero waste pub in Montreal, they have a lot of seasonal vegan options and lots of great beers. I can give you some recommandations for where to get drinks too, we have a lot of amazing microbreweries & cocktail bars! :) Hope you'll have a great trip! 🖤
Montrealer Here! Some Vegan Suggestions: Lov Restaurant, you have to go here...its the most beautiful restaurant, great cocktails and apps. Lola Rosa - Great Sangrias and Nachos, Burger Fiancé - their burgers are 🔥, Cafe to Campei and Sophie Sucree for desserts!
Some other Iconic Additions - for grab and go are "Falafel St-Jaques", they make Shish Taouk and Shawarna Pita wraps with Mushroom & Protein mix which are incredible, all most everything is vegan except for some vegetarian dishes and the import Isreali Desserts you can't find at too many other places. I believe the owners are an Isreali & Palestian duo which is also really cool. And YOU have to try the Vegan Kabob Pita wrap from BOUSTAN! They even have vegan garlic sauce.
Lmao as a marathon runner, your concerns are valid. However, simply try to avoid spicy foods the day before and if you’re going to drink the night before, I would say have champagne or something clear like vodka tonic. Most importantly, drink lots of water the night before and eat plenty of carbs, but not more than you would normally eat. Second, wake up 2 hours before your race so you can have coffee and 💩 and drink a bit of water and have a piece of toast or banana! Also, if you haven’t been using GU or some other energy gel during long runs over 1 hour, I would encourage it, but maybe not for this race if you haven’t been doing it all along because you can’t be sure how if will affect your stomach. All that being said, good or bad races are all totally worth the experience! Can’t wait to for the full race recap! Good luck and I know you’ll crush it! Those carbs on carbs will fuel your glycogen stores and keep those legs going!!!
They have a 40% less spicy one at T&T in Calgary!! Just saw it today at the NW location :) Edit: Came back to say that I just tried the 40% less spicy one and it’s still pretty damn spicy hahaha

The kfc plant based chicken burger is my fave fast food burger right now! 🤤🤤 also love that you don’t need to ask for adjustments when you order. I do like to add tomato, pickles and black pepper to it when I get it home though. I’m not a fan of beyond meat esp at A&W. I did like the beyond meat breakfast patties at A&W though but sadly they aren’t doing those anymore. The impossible whopper from Burger King is prob my 2nd fave currently as they grill the patty nicely :)
I agree with you about the ramen. I wish samyang made a mild or less spicy version. I love the texture of their noodles but their sauce to too much for me to enjoy. Enjoy your trip 😊
You are making me sooo hungry!! 🤤 I love the spicy noodles, but lately I've been chickening out and getting paldo bibim myun. I've always wanted to do a 5K or 10K. I can't even begin to imagine doing a marathon or even a half marathon! Go Rose!!

I haven't been to Montreal since 2006, though it appears as if Le Spirite Lounge is still open. They're all vegan and really good, though I seem to remember some gimmick? Something about you pick what size portion you want, and if you don't finish, then you are asked to leave. If you finish then you are asked if you want dessert, and if you decide you want that and don't finish dessert, then you are banned from the restaurant for life? Maybe I am misremembering, or maybe it has changed, but they took a pretty strict stance on food waste I guess. I remember dining at a really delicious vegan Thai restaurant too, though I do not remember much in the way of details as it was a recommendation from a hotel concierge. There seemed to be a lot of fascinating little places all over, I wish I had more opportunity to explore the city since it had a great vibe to it. Oh, and their bagels were better than any I have tried anywhere else (I do not remember where I was taken for bagels, but the place was > 100 years old and pretty well regarded by locals).
Canada is killing it with vegan fast food, the United States needs to seriously step up their game! Those Samyang fire noodles are my FAVORITE thing ever, I cannot get enough. 🤤
I love that you just eat whatever you’re feeling like. No matter how strange the combo seems. Best way to eat in my opinion!!
