Challenging, yet wonderfully adapted for Solo Marimba [4-mallets], this piece would make a welcome, audience friendly addition to any concert program!

I still can't believe how precise marimba players get with their mallet placement with two per hand going that fast. Amazing.
I cannot comprehend it either.
Just totally unbelievable!
Lovely
You do know this is a computer generated player. Look at the lack of shadows and there is no tonal difference on that black outfit. Look at the video on a bigger screen.
@@nowaysayheyWell, that's what I thought from the very beginning. His fingers don't somehow seem natural.
❤
Now the question is: how can I divert some of my tax money to this guy instead of IRS?
I can't think of this as a substitute for roads... Would be a good substitute for Parliamentarians
Absolutely!!!!!!
Write your congressman to promote the arts
Set up a 501c?
Dude, don’t joke with that! They can hear everything!
This is difficult enough to play on the piano, but on the marimba it is absolutely incredible! What amazing talent there is in this world!
Hör mal Martin Grubinger ….😊
Despite nearly 50 years of trying, I can't play this with 10 fully functioning fingers. You do it with four mallets. Well done, indeed.
Of course a simplified version
You still got this. As a pianist, it’s difficult sometimes to figure out where the mistakes lie and how to fix them, but with enough dedication and deliberate decision making you can pull it off. Don’t give up!
@@argi0774 Is it? Here's the score. ruclips.net/video/-L6jkNPDqTg/видео.html
Can you point out where this version is simplified? I can't see it.
@@DownhillAllTheWay Are you deaf? Or blind? Or both? Are you really serious?
@@DownhillAllTheWay Omg, are you serious? You don't need to show me the score, I know this piece very well and I play it myself. Do you? Apparently not. So once again: this is a heavily simplified version.
this is by far the most impressive thing ive ever seen on youtube.
Agreed
Well, you’re obviously not a Taylor Swift fan then.
lol jk. I used to call myself a marimbist. This is breathtaking top to bottom.
Me too!
You‘d better listen …than „see impressive things“. Not so impressive to LOOK at IMO. Sound is better.
What’s weird it still sounds normal note-wise, despite there only being 4 notes played at any one time
Fantasie Impromptu is hard enough on the piano, you didn't have to go and do it with only 4 mallets lol. This is INSANE- I have seen a LOT of marimba performances, and this one is absolutely one of the best recordings of any piece I have heard so far in my life. The musicality + perfect note accuracy + insane technical ability come together so flawlessly it's unbelievable. The fast sections (especially 0:12) are pulled off so well; I'm surprised it's even possible to do something like that, let alone make it sound so good. The arrangement helps out so much with that too. All around amazing performance and piece
Hey youre the guy that comments on like 50% of the Rotation IV videos lol
It's still harder on the piano, because he's not doing here the bass triplets, which would make it 3 against 4. He's doing only 2 against 1. Granted, it's not easy on a marimba even like that. But rhythmically it can never compare to what the piano has to do.
And he did it so beautifully
Once you get the 3 against 4 down, it’s a piece of cake on the piano.

Love it when the RUclips algorithm delivers in a big way. I was stunned. Phenomenal
After years of watching these videos I am convinced that the RUclips algorithm is the hand of God.

The video is 5:25 long, which can be described as 5 & 5 x 5 (555 - triple grace) and points to Galatians 5:25 - "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
The piece is opus 66, and there are 66 books in the King James Bible.
66 also points to Matthew 6:6, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
If you don't yet know God our Father through his Son, Jesus, then simply ask the Father to reveal his Son, Jesus, to you!
The physical precision of this execution is totally amazing.
Omg, this guy's head - contains the Chopin reduction, the total awareness of his hands, the keyboard, and the sticks, no matter their angle. Plus the dynamics. He's amazing!
Can there possibly be a more difficult instrument and selection of music than here? Kudos to the musician!
Wow. Been a musician for 55+ years. I’ve never seen a marimba this large much less someone perform such a challenging composition so expertly. Bravo!
Given how extensive he needs to move his arms and how large the marimba seems, I think he is just a bit short hahaha
Come to my country you will see it
fantasisie is actually very repetitive, and you only need to play one note at time. It's actually one of the most easiest, if not for polyrythm and fast speed. But if you take the middle section as a seperate piece, it is definitely the top 1 easiest.
A simple "like" is not enough for such marvelous talent. God bless you!!
A thousand likes wouldn't be enough. His talent is simply astonishing
I don’t believe what I just watched- incredible talent and maybe a “little” practice 👏👏👍
I saw it, but I cannot comprehend it.
How is this possible???😮
I cannot even begin to understand how this is possible.
Some people are not human but super-human.
Just lost for words.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I am totally blown away. I don't think some people understand how technically good you have to be to play this so well. Incredible.
OK I don't know how many of you do not realize just how impossible this is. I hope this dude has been recruited by every drum and bugle corps in existence. Simply not humanly possible.
As a pianist who plays this piece well, I can honestly say this arrangement is impressive.
I didn't even know this was possible to play on Marimba. Sounds fantastic!
Now this is what I call BRILLIANT!!!!
Amazing technical skills this young man has on this instrument.
This performance needs to be seen all over the planet.... I hope wherever he is located he is gaining tremendous wealth for this kind of talent. 🙏🏼
This musician certainly must be an internationally recognized artist.
This is so good it’s literally hard to believe it’s real. Not only is it technically astounding, but the musicality/phrasing is fantastic
Holy mamma! That is incredible! I know a guy that plays Latin Jazz on one of those. He's so freaky talented, but even he would be floored if he heard this.
Just WOW!
the way you play is so clean and precise, mad respect
1:20 the musicality of this section is so incredibly beautiful I can’t get over it
Playing just the two mallet version and the melody is hard enough now he is adding the baseline that is crazy. Mad respect.
Wow! I've tried this just on piano and it's difficult. Thats with fingers. With four mallets stuck between your fingers, this is a next level of insanely difficult.
Just came here from watching it on the Harp, both amazing. To think Chopin wanted this music destroyed after his death.
Haha. That's how I got here too. Nadja Dornik's harp performance. Both unbelievable.
@@billp3598 If you liked Nadja Dornik, check out Varvara Ivanova's recording. Unfortunately it's only audio, but it's such a compelling performance, and I argue it rivals Kissin's both expressively and technically.
4:07 I don't know how the instrument works, so I spent 5 minutes puzzled at how he was playing the bass notes, because I didn't see his hand move to the left.
Turns out his left hand is just that fast, and he barely turns his head to his left. So my untrained eye couldn't keep up. It was like watching the speed and misdirection of a stage magician. Amazing!
Wow! Wow! Wow!
It's not just the incredible technical feat, but the amazing musicality that you bring to this piece that is astonishing. The use of rubato and dynamic subtlety. You are an incredible musician! Bravo!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I can't even play it on my piano, but look at you! 😃👏🏼
You are amazing!!! It blows mind that humans are capable of such greatness. Sending my love and deepest admiration.
Mind-blowing. Surprised on how he can play the middle melody legato with only four mallets.
“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.” 🎉
An artist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

👏👏👏👏👏
Chopin would have approved of this marimba rendition!
*I'm speechless....such a wonderful performance!!!!!*
I love this. He is a musical genius.
Wow, your technique alone is so impressive as to make me hold my breath, but then your phrasing and musicality elevate it to another level. Thank you for this brief delight in my day. 🙏♥️
Pure magic!
Not in the witchcraft sense, but in the genious sense.
This is gonna be one of those videos everyone comes back to over the years
bravo❤❤❤bravo, maestro, you touched my soul so beautifully, thank you.🥰❣️🌟🙏🏻🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🌈🌈🌈🪬🤍
There is only a single word which can describe his amazing technique: WTF.
We need this to be captured in slow motion
WTF is three words ....... just saying.
I still cannot believe what I have just witnessed. 😮
This is so incomprehensible that it were impressive even as a computer animation.
I bow to you, young man. Bravo!
Person 1: I'd like you to play Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu op66 please
Piano player: OK
Person 1: But not on a piano
Piano player: Er, OK
Person 1: I'd like it on an instrument many times the size of your piano keyboard
Piano player: ah, OK
Person 1: and you can only use 4 fingers
Piano player: oh...OK
Person 1: and you can't use fingers
Piano player: well.......OK
Person 1: you have to use 4 sticks with fluffy ends on them
Piano player: WTF...that's not even possible!
Pablo Blanco enters the room: "Hold my beer"
Simply breathtaking in execution and emotion ♥
great LOL
Bravo!
"Let there be light." And there was light :)🌞🌷💐🏵🌸🌹💮🌺🥀🌻🌼🍀🧡
Perfectly lovely musically, and a visual feast watching this musician work.
This is absolutely impressive - Playing that fast with mallets should be a titanic struggle.
🙂🤪
Chopin must be in this man’s body and soul😮.
Astounding! Not just technique, but unsurpassed musicianship! Tear-rending; Chopin would have been delighted! 🌹🌹🌹
This is a year old!! Why is this the first time I've seen this
What a fantastic performance of a beautiful piano composition! Lovely!
Wendy Louise Hall ( Pianist)
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I love playing it on the piano, so I know how much he is enjoying, too.
Impressive
Mesmerising, amazing !! Such precision and smoothness! Yikes. That must have been hours and hours of practicing. Bravo! Thanks a lot for sharing ! 👌🎶🌟
This rare talent. This is something you would see showcased on variety TV shows such as Ed Sullivan. But no such venues now.
Amazing to my eyes and ears. Beautiful. ✌🏻🤍
This is what I plan on mastering right after I learn how to eat using two pairs of chop sticks.
I’m speechless, this is so amazing. ❤❤❤
i cant believe i have never heard of a marimba until 2 hours ago
This could well be the most remarkable musical performance I have EVER seen. PLEASE someone assure me this was/is REAL and not digitally enhanced?
What a pride we as human beings can do this kind of extraordinary things with such simplicity!
So
Astonishing! Some pursue excellence, and a few manage to catch it
Those hands are talented, beautiful!
I’m touched !! Many compliments ❤️👏👏👏👏!!!
Now THAT is some elite percussion skills!! Bravo!
317 views.... bruh.... this deserves at least 4 more digits
Well, it now has 5 more digits ...... needed a bit more time than you gave it a year ago.
Like watching a different species!! This is utterly incredible. What a talent. Stunning.
Incredible!!!!👏👏👏Standing ovation 👏 🙌
Absolutely stunning! Wow! Incredible!
A xylophone is metaL , this a mari,ba with wood.
🎉
I admire the way he does not employ facial grimaces to support how difficult this piece is. some pianists can learn from him.
That is some artistry! 👏
I hope people understand how much time and effort goes into mastering a piece like this, let alone having to learn an entire repertoire.
It has been a VERY long time since a Chopin song brought tears of joy like they did when I first discovered his music. I honestly shed tears when the moderato section began. I was so caught up in seeing how the complex, challenging allegro agitato was being handled that it brought back my first time hearing reaction to that lovely, poetic melody that comes out in the middle section. I'm always (chasing rainbows? - not here, not right now 😉) so impressed when an adaptation to a new instrument magically retains the musical integrity. Just stellar work!
WOW!! The amount of skill and musicality is just incredible!
What a nice vibe of a spectacular tune. After years I still can't even play it that good on piano, where all you have to do is push the damn buttons, which are perfectly finger sized mind you.
Mind-blowing. Hard enough polyrhythm to play on the piano. Well done!
I am completely flabbergasted, shocked, stunned, utterly entranced by this incredible display of such unmatchable skill! Very well done!
Fabulous! As a (sort-of) pianist, I couldn't possibly do justice for Chopin as you have. 😊
Ok what the hell I’ve played piano for ten years and find this song mad difficult and this guy does it on mallets😢😮 Good job man keep it up
I mean he's not trying to play it 😔 n the key it's in on the piano
Wow... It's already hard on the piano ;O Must be infinitely hard to play on a Marimba! Increadible!
Extremely impressive on the technical side. It’s like watching an acrobat performing music. And it sounds great.
Haha, this is one of the cutest music videos that I've seen. I really like these unusual musical instruments. 😂
It’s interesting and maybe soothing that the right second mallet does nothing like something’s tale, but it works whenever necessary👍
I’m fascinated with its move💜
Very very very very nice! Wishing you a succesful career and a happy healthy life! Erik the Netherlands
I wouldn't have thought it possible.
This is sooooo incredible!! I can’t even play this that well with all 10 of my fingers!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I was thinking this would be like playing this on piano with only 2 fingers on each hand. That would be pretty difficult if not impossible.
I am totally stunned by this performance of one of my favourite composer's most popular pieces. How does this musician manage such a rendition? I'm sending him the greatest admiration and respect from England.......(I think you are simply magnificent, young man!)
I only play the piano as a hobby, so I'm not good at all... but the fact that you did this shows that it's *possible* to play it with just 4 fingers on the piano and that has given me a new hope 😂 But omg, BRAVO TO YOU!!!!
Simply incredible, breathtaking!
Love this guy! brilliant sound and amazing hand work!
