pls don't use music if you don't feel it is crucial. it's a matter of preference and i strongly prefer no music and no overproduction. it sets apart real talk and content for the sake of content. it also sets you apart from others to me.
I want to start making more "regular-length" content for RUclips. I'm going to experiment with scripted, unscripted, etc. I'll try different levels of production, but I'll focus on making content that tries to help people regardless. Thank you all for being here! Let me know what you'd like to see.
Oh man I love these types of videos. I just watch some guy talk about something that interests me for about 10 minutes and it's really entertaining. I really hate short form content. I get it from a business perspective since shorts saved RUclips but it's terrible from a consumer perspective.
I am almost 70 years old, recovering from chemo and a sedentary lifestyle. I visited my doctor, we came up with a plan to get me going in the right direction. I am in physical therapy and the first day the therapist asked me about my inspirations. I listed you as one of them. I am starting from below zero on my fitness journey and I know I will get there with your good advice. Thank you for leading the way.
Good luck and work hard! Last year, I started exercising at 57 after a life-altering surgery. This year, I attempted a 125 mile thru-hike of the Black Hills. I only made it 50 miles before an ankle injury stopped me, but i made it 50 miles!
When fitness people say "you don't need motivation, you need discipline" it feels like such a self serving answer. Like they are patting themselves on the back for how disciplined they are. A lot of fitness stuff has this sort of scolding perspective, and that your videos don't is something I like about them. I strongly believe that what a lot of people consider to be "discipline" is just habits. Like a person who has been waking up early to go to the gym for years, that is a pretty easy task for them. So when someone asks advice they say "you need to be disciplined like me, wake up at 5am and go to the gym". It's this all or nothing mentality, where there is no room to grow into the person you want to be, you are just expected to already be that person. I have been working on exercising more lately, and a lot of it has just been making it really easy to exercise. Having exercise equipment close to hand so there is very little friction to use it, and programming my training so that it is fun so I am encouraged to continue. It took so much more "discipline" to do a single pullup every day when I first started than it takes to do a muscle up every day now a year or so later. Habits are so much more important than discipline.
When I get good sleep, eat well, and work out, the resulting clarity brings me back to the reality of how much I hate my job and how boring my free time is, then I end up back to booze. It definitely feels like a cycle. I have plans to quit the job soon.
I recently just quit my job and dropped out of school. Of course I had money saved but I could say I've never felt better independently. Got closer to myself, my family, and the control of my life. If it means anything to you, I would say to take that leap because we only get this one life! Good luck to you my friend.
As of writing this, I am 289 pounds. Last month I hit a peak of 308 pounds, and I feel like I truly woke up for the first time in my life. Staring at the mirror I had what felt like a dam burst forth with negative thoughts about my lifestyle and my body. I have never smoked or drank, and I've never participated in recreational drugs, but I've had a life long food addiction for as long as I can remember. You are one to the main inspirations that keep me working out daily, I've started a calorie deficit diet with tons of protein and focused on calisthenics, though I do throw some weights around here and there. This is a massive message but I wanted to say thank you for all of the lives you have positively impacted with your kind and empathetic energy. I have never felt more alive, more awake, and more energetic than I do today, and I know it will only get better. You guys changed my life and I'm finally starting to love myself.
I’ve been there, friend. I peaked around 289 and even though I’m 6’2 my belly was over the belt. I’m down to 227 today but I haven’t stuck with staying active, so losing that weight was great but not enough. You can do this!
Take a look at ketogenic and low carb diets - a lot of people seem to have great success with weightloss and reversing type 2 diabetes. I lost 65 pounds and kept most of it off for 4 years and counting
Screw the alpha grindset mindset. Hampton sipping tea and handing out compassionate BestieCore life advice with soft music and fireflies in the background is the real path to a good life. If nothing else, I'm pretty sure my blood pressure dropped faster than the stock of a company after Elon buys it.
Thank you Hampton. I'm 55 I've been sprinting and exercising. I've quit tobacco, caffeine and sugar this year. I've been meditating. No television, no radio for about 3 years now.
@@op2265 I started with soda, then snack foods, then grains, then carbs, I eat nothing highly processed, I just eat hamburger, sardines, Sea salt, fresh eggs, butter. Garlic, ginger. Hopefully one day I can eat peanut butter again.
@@goodlifesince90 everything is turning into a meditation, or breathing exercise. From yardwork to everyday activities. Your friends and family become strangers, they still believe the propaganda that they consume.
As someone who's struggled with depression and anxiety (self-diagnosed) since I was in primary school, I feel like my life has never been on track. But all the lows in my life make what others might consider basic or simple - sleeping for more than 6hrs straight, admiring the green grass and blue skies, filling my tummy up with a warm meal, putting away that one item I've left out for a month - even more beautiful. ✨ It might not seem like much but when I think back on my day, I can almost always feel a sense of pride and gratitude that I'm doing well. I hope everyone reading this can also learn to be their own cheerleader and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
As someone who has struggled with a lot of mental and physical health issues over the years, one thing I have noticed consistently is that when your body in general is unhealthy, so too often are your mind and your thoughts also unhealthy. Taking time to cater to your body's primary physical needs can make a fundamental difference to the way you feel and think, and the ways to do that which are laid out in this video are exactly the kinds of things that I've also personally found can help to achieve that. This is a great video, thanks. 🙂
This video spoke to me. I did this back at the beginning of the year. Hadn’t been to the doctor in years and decided to go. Got diagnosed with high blood pressure. Weighed 311 lbs and I thought I was doing fine. I wasn’t. As of today I’m down 71 lbs, blood pressure is under control and they are thinking of taking me off some. It’s so difficult some days, but I take those as motivation to keep going. If I can make it through the tough days, the easy days are that much easier.
I want to throw a comment towards you that you are the reason I started weightlifting. I think this small change has made me learn a surprising amount about myself - about how I want to be productive and end up feeling empty at the end, because I have to learn to enjoy the journey, not the product. I have to aim not for the dream house or the perfect child or the hot body, but the act of decorating, parenting, moving my body. I think this will change my life. What I’m saying is you have changed my life, and thank you ❤
Very … very relatable. Maintenance and care for yourself is more than just readjustment of your schedule indeed. Looking over yourself with others eyes might actually be something most of us lack.
Hampton you have a way of making things seem simple, in part because of your voice and tone, in part because of your sincerity and empathy, and in part because you deliver ideas in straight forward nuggets. You’re a great teacher, thank you
Man, this guy is a kind of blessing. Calms me just to listen to him. I'm 43 and have high blood pressure, owing to stress and nerves. Good sleep and regular exersise is essential for me. He is so right. We have to listen.
Funny how you post this now. About 3 weeks ago I was doing CrossFit and I noticed myself getting less consistent and not being as motivated as I should be. I realized that CrossFit wasn't taking me to my goals. After a lot of looking I found you and some other creators who inspired me to make my own fitness routine that would progress me towards more short-term goals that I would be genuinely proud of. I have been doing it for 2 weeks and I love it. I'm almost hitting my pistol squat and my handstand is probably about 1-2 months away. Along with this I noticed I was sleeping better and eating better. So it just goes to show that if you don't have an end in sight, you won't see any reason to keep going.
As an almost 40 year old with a demanding job, I can say what great advice this is. It all starts with sleeping, diet and exercise and we are too focussed on almost immediately getting back to where we were and then feeling overwhelmed by the prospect. Also, make sure you eat some protein for breakfast (I'm talking a boiled egg, which you can make once or twice a week in bulk). Having protein with some carbs really helps us not slump so low by mid day and so helps us with diet choices and so on, like Hampton mentioned. ❤
I changed my lifestyle 3 years ago. I work out everyday, and try to take in more proteins and veggies everyday but sometimes I am unmotivated. What helps for me is establishing a base line - which for me is 8,000 steps in a 24 hour day. On these days I don’t worry about speed or what I eat or if I accomplish anything else. I walk slow AF and I tell myself how proud I am that I’m doing this when 3 years ago this little bit would have been a lot. Sometimes after a walk, I’m ready to take on more. Sometimes I don’t get that 8,000 step until after 11 pm. Either way, I know the next day is a new day to recommit to my life goals.
Ive seen your shirts, but this is the first podcast ive seen...heard! You are so honest and profound in what you speak of...true for many ages, im 64. Thank you for what you are doing.
Thanks for your take on this issue! I also found small steps is key! Motivation is not enough, discipline is also required. It is true both ways: Discipline is not enough, motivation is required. I rebuilt my motivation from zero and today I do not want to skip a day of doing some workout any more, since a year. Typically I do a lot of brief microexercices of varying intensity with few longer sessions throughout the day. Whenever I catch myself on the couch I tell myself "off the couch!", if I then find myself lazy still on the couch I tell myself "on the ground!". Then maybe I warm up a bit, or do search some hard move, that I am failing or have discomfort, or squat or, when I am whiny, I just lay down, and press against the floor. Or I at least scratch an itch or massage a knot. Move! That worked quite well for me! Also, it might sound silly, praying during exercising did wonders for me. Jesus!, you be careful who you pray to!
Hey Hampton. I'm a 47 year old dad. After a period of overwhelm, I'd got my life back on track through meditation and nutrition. Then I started to ge the energy to start exercising again. I wanted to express gratitude for your videos and your Hybrid 2.0 routine. The videos motivated me to start calisthenics. I love your energy, warmth and clarity. But it was the programme that helped me to build a habitual routine that I am sticking to. I love when I develop on to the next progression, watch your model clips and get going. Thanks for helping me get exercising again. Keep doing what you do!
I played this while doing a workout, and it really made me think. I always say I need to start working out that I need to start running to lose weight. But you made me realize what I was doing wrong. Instead of forcing myself to do it all at once that I should instead do a few things to get my mind to be okay with this. Thank you, Hampton. I've been watching you for a lot of months, but this made me realize what was blocking me from doing it.
I struggle with a few health issues, and regularly go through these ups and downs with how I am feeling physically (in turn mentally too). Oftentimes when I am in a "down," I feel like I am just waiting for the good days to come back. Taking those tiny steps while I'm down, even if it's a fraction of what I really want to be doing, does help so much. Great advice and something I needed to hear again. Have a beautiful day yall
This has been true for me. I’ve struggled in many of these areas. One thing at a time everyone, build momentum- keep going. The next right step ❤ you too, a beautiful day to you.
I like this guy a lot. He's so Zen about these subjects, not nonjudgmental. I appreciate his kind words of encouragement 🙏 Thank you brother. I'm about to go on a little jog. Maybe 3 miles. Maybe 6 miles. Either way, you helped to get me back to thinking about my fitness and mental health.
In some ways, not only have I fallen off track, but I'm rusting away in the weeds alongside the tracks.... Love the tips.... At my age I have a whole set of different issues with sleep cycle, like diuretics. Unavoidable. But then I admit also to having nights I "take advantage" of being a thoroughly undisciplined retiree, which does an additional number on my sleeplessness after the middle-of-the-night bathroom run(s) (tmi?).... Love "CEO" of my life! I'd probably get fired of I weren't also the boss.... Today, I've been pulling advancing ivy vines, instead of doing leftover PT exercises, while listening to a series of your programs. I am so glad your channel popped up at the start of my you-tube time this morning!
Just wanted to leave this comment for you. I left to basic the beginning of 2023 I was a small guy back then and I was nervous cause I couldn’t do more than 15 pushups I found your videos and your positivity and encouraging words helped me and I got stronger in basic with that so thank you man for being you
This video is absolutely beautiful and I cannot espress how much I appreciate it. I'm only 38yrs old and literally as of last month, my medical issues I'm on military disability for, have gotten so bad I can't physically do my job, I'm limping more than walking, and my overall quality of life has declined. Which makes it so difficult to even walk my dog and I can't hike or ride my bike anymore. I'm doing physically therapy weekly, and I will need surgery for some of these issues. I always work out at home, but it so difficult with how restricted I am, how painful it is, and it's stressful trying to figure out what workouts I can do now. I finally ordered your book (it was out of stock the last time I went to order it) and I will take things one day at a time and always remember to find those simple things I can control to make my life better. Being an adult with recently diagnosed ADHD has made getting things done and having control over my life difficult too. But now knowing why I always felt so different has made it easier to find tools that help. Like your videos and workouts. Thank you Hampton ❤ you really are making a difference
I have committed to half an hour of mental health every day. I don't obviously do it every day, some days are awful. But so far I passed only two days in a row once and others are like single day fall outs. I usually read a book for some time and then either write my thoughts on it or just have an open wonderings in my head, check with my emotions etc etc... Sometimes it lasts and hour. I can't tell how long I have been doing this, but it has helped me a ton. I feel a lot more mature and understanding of myself and like my body can follow and it's easier to do stuff because there this huge load off of my shoulders. So I'd say invest in your mental health. If you can't go to psychologist or just can't find a good match like me, read books in your bed with a cup of warm drink and do work yourself. No matter at where you are in life, mental heath is super important.
I've missed this series, your voice and calm presense really help the advice feel like advice instead of demands. Today's topic really reminds me of the non-zero day idea which ive found helpful in the past when doing anything at all has felt overwhelming
Thank you for acknowledging individuals who struggle with discipline and for being willing to meet people where they are. For example executive function disorders and ADHD make some kinds self control and regulation hard or impossible. Other conditions, like ASD can make new routines overwhelming. Autoimmune disorders can have exhaustion or flares happen outside of the individuals control. Many different disorders make consistency harder than usual. It's good to hear someone in the fitness circle offer encouragement and ideas instead of hand waving it away with "need more discipline" only. Thanks.
Also I watched the whole ad that popped up in the middle of this video. I really really really really really really really really really love the outtakes at the end and I’m really really really considering getting that spiral bound exercise book for my routine. Perfect timing I just commented on that exact thing. ❤❤❤
I was once really serious in being in shape up until last year, when I found myself being lazy and not watching of what I do or eat anymore. I literally went off track, became sluggish and gained a lot of weight. That was a huge wake-up call for me, and watching your videos really inspires me to go back in taking myself properly again. Thank you.
"Clarity". It is true, the modern world makes it pretty hard to look at the hole you're in from the outside. But it's very enlightening to know that improving problems of your life that weigh you down is going to make the rest of it - even fitness - better. much love!
thank you very much for this video. It made me almost emotional, because I find myself in that dark zone quite often. And I get very hard on myself if my life is falling out of tracks. I feel like I'm trash and I can't do anything good. And your video reminded me that I just have to stay calm, and do little steps in the right direction. Thank you again
You are wise. And this is a compliment I don't give lightly. Yes, starting is often the hardest part. If you can trick yourself to start, things may very well start flowing again.
Must be something in the air, maybe it’s the time of year or the collective aura idk! But I’ve been meaning to reorganize my goal setting and reprioritizing this past week and haven’t had time til today! The universe must’ve known I needed some Hampton knowledge because this was perfect. Thank you.
Knowing what I should do, and even how to do it, weren't my main difficulty. Recently being diagnosed as an adult with ADD and getting treatment for it has changed my INtention deficit and allowed me to tackle many "shoulds" that I just wasn't capable of taking on consistently before. I've really been enjoying your exercise manual and gym rings. Thank you for your videos!
That CEO's perspective is nuanced and brilliant. It's hard to take your own advice, but this approach helps you see things from another person's perspective. I agree, breaking free from negative spirals is tough. For me, the change began with the 6-part sleep series on the Andrew Huberman podcast. Starting with sleep, as you suggested, helped everything else fall into place. I went from no physical activity and eating takeout regularly to walking daily, getting morning light, cooking proper meals with Hello Fresh or Gousto, and starting calisthenics. These small changes have made me feel like a new person. My mood is much better, and I finally feel "normal" after years of depression. I'm 35 now and it makes me sad to think of the wasted time, but it's better than being stuck in misery. I'm even going for a new job and have made it to the final interview stage. Starting small has made a huge difference, and I feel like a snowball gaining momentum. I don't beat myself up for occasional slip-ups because that leads back to the path I never want to go down again. While it wasn't just one podcast series that changed everything, it was the catalyst. I recommend it to anyone. They're long, so listen while walking! And as Hampton says, do some calisthenics and follow his wisdom!
The step back has pretty much been this year for me, lost loved ones to illnesses and had to cut off toxic friends to recover and move forward. Still living day by day but we're slowly climbing again. love the positive content and it has helped me this year in starting to work out. Please, keep up the good work and have a beautiful day!
You should try doing these weekly and maybe getting some guests on! I've recently found your channel but already think its got an awesome vibe behind it.
You can always count on Hampton. I needed this. Been in a bit of a spiral as of late. Not only has work been aweful this past week, working me hours that have stopped.me from going to the gym, but also Ive been realizing that my family has destroyed my sense of self and concept of being loved. Ive been stairing down this crater of holes Im going to have to fill in if Im ever going to be worthy of being loved, and its just so much. Especially when this current economic situation means I can't escape my family. While seeing videos about my various issues helps me perhaps pinpoint them, is a good thing, sometimes you want someone to give you a rope out so you can climb... Digging too deep makes it hard to see the sun at some point.
Very good advice. The understanding and empathy you have for the struggle of the small things is awesome. I think a lot of people believe they need to quit cold turkey or go so hardcore on something new like a diet or exercise program for example, then this results in them never starting (or quitting) or not staying consistent. Building habits is a slow process and requires building from where your at. You can’t run without learning to walk. But this includes people that have done it before and fallen off track as well. Learn to be gentle with yourself and go back to the basics, back to square one, just to get the ball rolling again. Thanks Hampton for the encouragement
I love these types of content. Very uplifting especially right now as I am trying to change myself for the better. To anybody who is going through the same, don't be too hard on yourself, keep taking steps, as its better than never moving."
I realize that you may not be a religious person at all, but I think your advice holds value for everyone (including those who follow a doctrine). The analysis and reevaluation of your surroundings or life choices helps anyone put things into perspective for themselves, and it may be the push one needs to achieve that discipline and diligence you mentioned. Thank you, and God bless you. Have a beautiful day.
I just want to say THANK YOU! I saw your old videos (like how to not get sick) long time ago and by chance just stumbled upon your channel again now and I am SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR GROWTH and how much you already achieved with this channel! You have the best energy and you motivate me a lot! Thank you for your hard work and dedication! All the best for you and your channel
Thank you, Hampton. The way you speak feels very inviting and it makes you come of as very approachable. I'm someone who's only started following you this year, but I manage to find myself coming back to your channel anyway. Appreciate these more "regular"-length videos. Keep it up, and keep inspiring everyone around you. Cheers!
That was such a comforting video. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us and I hope you, and everyone who reads this, has a lovely day and takes that first right step.
I went through all of that and loss of immediate family members. Everything I lost I gained in fat lol. But my why no longer mattered. I made the decision to get in shape and study for the ASVAB to join the military and I decided the exercise path I wanted to go was calisthenics because it feels like the most practical sustainable longevity producing path and I found your page so thank you for your work, what you provide for free, and most importantly thank you for this video. It found me at the absolute perfect time.
Thanks a lot for this video, Hampton. I have felt like I am having a bad mood lately and did not realize that it has been dragging longer than natural and clouding my mind. I feel like I got the push, and the pep talk I needed. Like I keep realizing that I need to meditate and it will improve, but I am procrastinating even doing that. Thanks to this video, I think I can stop my downward spiral.
I really appreciated this video Hampton. I have insomnia and I’ve done everything I can do and nothing fixes it. I’m supposed to get a sleep study done. I have a lot of autoimmune diseases and it is probably caused by them and not a lot to do about it. It’s okay that I cant accomplish things at a rate others do I’m okay with that. I have to work with what I got.
I am trying to reflect and get back on track on a daily basis. I think I needed to do that because I struggle with mental health, and that can change very rapidly and get me off track quickly. Every day, every moment you realise you're not where you want to be, is the chance to get it right again. You can either say "it's been three month so it's too late" or "today is the new start I needed"
I found you many years ago as a crew member until I left that terrible app haha but your cadence and attitude always helped me motivate myself and as I started my fitness journey fairly recently I found myself coming back to your channel, thanks for the videos!
Hampton, I wish for a 100 more of these videos. This one came at exactly the right time - it almost brought a tear to my eye. What stands out the most is your exceptional kindness and your way of conveying simple tools in a respectful way for people to use. But most of all the kindness. I already knew everything you mentioned, but I often forget it all in times of stress or need, and your gentle reminders become a great gift. Please make more of these videos! Or how about a podcast (here on youTube)? Long format! Thank you!

yeah, I do the "will workout for 5 minutes" trick, going to group classes. Once the class starts endorfin flows and the hour is suddenly short. Also the peer pressure, you do not give up
Watching this in a hotel fitness room, working to get back the excercise that will make me feel good even with a lot of driving days. It was the perfect video as I work on both how to improve my home routine, and how to feel better on the road! :)
Your progressions have been fabulous. 31. Started ketogains last Oct. Got your rings and a Bar. Down 63 lbs. Amidst a relationship that failed I picked up some unhealthy habits. I let them go the 1. Completed a week of muscle building hybrid routine. Still can hit some grindy ring Chins. Got 7 today before jacknives foot assisted for routine. Trusting your process-- getting that deeper ROM over forcing up. But still getting to see how it's going at the beginning as you recommend (always full easier after grinder) is just completely poggers. Matches pump I got from barbell. I'll never forget my chest hitting the floor the first time years ago and then it happening again with your content. I also love the hold on chest day even blasting off to knees version after my first attempts.
Thank you! I've been sick of having the flu for yesterday and today, i was really tired yesterday that I can't even plan my stuff well so i literally take a step back from almost all of my work, today i will continue to do them regardless of how i feel. The grinding continues!
whenever i feel unmotivated to do something i know i need to do, i often just tell myself to just do it.. i repeat that phrase multiple times in my mind and it helps me get through that initial phase of laziness and procrastination..
Thanks for sharing your kind thoughts. I am 67 I began walking 3 miles daily in 1993, when my dad had his heart attack. Always outside. I have had many walking partners. My black lab for 14 years. My youngest daughter began walking with me when she was 20. She is now 40. It’s my best good habit. I also do weights and bands and stretches on mon wed Fri and have for Over 20 years. Good habits are hard. But I want to be healthy. Life choices. I choose to try to be healthy. Thanks
Love to see more modification videos. Senior related just turned big 60. Was a major isometric fiend but wound up hurting myself. Your channel and you are awesome.
Great video! Very positive and encouraging because health is about more than muscles and movement. We gotta take care of our mindset too. Thanks for this!
Hey Hampton! I just discovered you today. Love your content. I’m 45 years young and I’ve been dealing with severe depression since 2015. I now I’m in a better place where not everything is dark; I have some very awesome days, mostly good days, and sometimes I have these heavy, blurry, painful, dark days… when those dark days hit me and don’t feel like doing anything (not even get out of bed); I do apply what you are talking about in your video. I try to put my brain in a “practical state” where first I recognize “today looks like is not a good day”, and then I run thru my brain a simple, yet, very important question: “what are the UNAVOIDABLE tasks I MUST do today ?”. Some days might be getting some clothes and go to the grocery store, so I can do my meal prep, so I can have a smooth work week to keep my diet and my wallet in check. Other days might be doing the laundry and watering my plants, etc… No matter what, if I focus on the tasks I know are “unavoidable” for me to keep myself functioning and making progress towards the ultimate goal (wether physical health, brain state, keep my house clean, or just to move my body) , it always pays up, and the momentum pushes me to end my day with usually most of the things I had to do that day, done. And at the end there’s always this sense of reward which some how makes me feel better. Anyway, don’t know if you’ll read all this, but please know you are making a big positive insightful change in all of us. Please keep it up! Thank you!
Thank you for the relaxing video Hampton! It's really important to find a single thing to commit too when starting anything with no motivations. Remember what you need is discipline in order to feel motivated. I have been trying to be a healthier person by making a commitment to work out 3 days a week. I have been feeling so much more RELAXED and more mindful in my day to day. I have also noticed that I have begun building some muscle which it also pretty rewarding. Anyways thanks again for another great video!
Your CEO line reminds me of things like 'talk to yourself like you would talk to someone you love or your best friend, etc'. Its pretty common to hear when you're trying to change negative self talk.
Hey, thanks for making this video and really for all your videos. I've been watching you for a while now and you've changed my perception of what exercise can be. In my family, my older brother is a bodybuilder/weightlifter that tells me that's the only way to exercise and my parents are typical Americans who tell themselves and us that exercise isn't necessary because it's hard for them to admit that they're unhealthy. I keep being told that I'm thin so I'm healthy, but I have almost no muscle mass. I've been at the point of knowing that for a few months now but wasn't sure how to start with all this. This video helped a lot.

From being disciplined and being working out for more than a year at a stretch, I became so demotivated (not sure because of 1 reason or more). I do wish to get started again but still not getting any motivation from within. Some days I drag myself to go for a walk atleast but still trying everyday. Have really loved your videos always and hopefully tomorrow will bring the change.
I'm just getting started on my fitness journey and vids like this on your channel have been immeasurably helpful for breaking me out of the same ol same sort of downward circular thinking that I've always allowed into my head and holds me back. This really helps. Thank you so much for doing what you do. Truly.
i feel like this kinda stuff is better than those high energy, david goggins 3am motivational videos because he actually gives you great advice and gives you information and doesnt just tell you "DO IT NOW" he tells you how to get started and makes it entertaining throughout aswell
I very much thank you for this video, you helped me a lot and hearing you too struggle with this and reached understanding in the issue and overcame it yourself gives me a lot of courage to get up. Really love your work! :)
Hampton! We've missed you on RUclips!! Please continue to post more. I know you're on IG a lot but YT is way better! Longer videos and not that 60 second stuff.
Hello Hampton, I really enjoyed this video. I find that taking a few deep breaths immediately helps too. Helps move from what you should do to actually doing it. It makes motivation come more easily as it reduces stress and brings in that clarity you speak of.
Man! this feels like it's tailored exactly for me. I gotta start listening to your podcast! Ok, random question - have you ever tried any rock climbing and/or martial arts? two of my favorite things in life. if you ever come to Colorado let's go climb dude!

pls don't use music if you don't feel it is crucial. it's a matter of preference and i strongly prefer no music and no overproduction. it sets apart real talk and content for the sake of content. it also sets you apart from others to me.
Where are you from and do you do personal training?
I want to start making more "regular-length" content for RUclips. I'm going to experiment with scripted, unscripted, etc. I'll try different levels of production, but I'll focus on making content that tries to help people regardless. Thank you all for being here! Let me know what you'd like to see.
Just be you. You're an interesting person. You have a quick mind, which makes me watch it twice. Very personable fellow.
Injury prevention, preservation of health, mobility, fitness. Good habits without them being a chore...
I really enjoyed this video :)
I really loved this video! I'd love to see more of these "regular length" videos since they feel more, idk, down to earth perhaps?
Thank you for leading the way.
dang that really is amazing, good on you man, good luck with your fitness journey!!
I believe in you!! Congrats on remission, friend. Sending you love and light 💕✨🌺
goodluck friend, I know you can do it
All the best
I have plans to quit the job soon.
i believe in you!
I recently just quit my job and dropped out of school. Of course I had money saved but I could say I've never felt better independently. Got closer to myself, my family, and the control of my life. If it means anything to you, I would say to take that leap because we only get this one life! Good luck to you my friend.
step back might be the answer for you . anyways goodluck and godbless you ❤
I’d say find a new job and find something healthier to fill the spare time with.
Sometimes it' just that first step, man. Proud of you!
I’ve been there, friend. I peaked around 289 and even though I’m 6’2 my belly was over the belt. I’m down to 227 today but I haven’t stuck with staying active, so losing that weight was great but not enough.
You can do this!
You’re just on the bulk. Now start lifting heavy and you’ll see those gains in no time
Take a look at ketogenic and low carb diets - a lot of people seem to have great success with weightloss and reversing type 2 diabetes. I lost 65 pounds and kept most of it off for 4 years and counting
How are you doing, mate? Keep up the good work
Screw the alpha grindset mindset.
How do you quit sugar?
@@op2265 I started with soda, then snack foods, then grains, then carbs, I eat nothing highly processed, I just eat hamburger, sardines, Sea salt, fresh eggs, butter. Garlic, ginger. Hopefully one day I can eat peanut butter again.
Wow! amazing! Can you share with us how your life has changed in these 3 years?
@@goodlifesince90 everything is turning into a meditation, or breathing exercise. From yardwork to everyday activities. Your friends and family become strangers, they still believe the propaganda that they consume.
@@Creative_soilno sugar but you eat hamburgers? Red meat isn't good either.
It might not seem like much but when I think back on my day, I can almost always feel a sense of pride and gratitude that I'm doing well.
Thank you for your wisdom, Chad Thundernuts
This video spoke to me. I did this back at the beginning of the year. Hadn’t been to the doctor in years and decided to go. Got diagnosed with high blood pressure. Weighed 311 lbs and I thought I was doing fine. I wasn’t.
As of today I’m down 71 lbs, blood pressure is under control and they are thinking of taking me off some. It’s so difficult some days, but I take those as motivation to keep going. If I can make it through the tough days, the easy days are that much easier.
Congratulations that's a huge achievement physically and in mindset!
Oh wow. OH MAN, 71 pounds in under a year is not a small feat, you are doing great, keep it up!!!
You’re a great teacher, thank you
This couldn't have come at a better time for me. You're so motivating and comforting at the same time. Thank you so much for an inspiring video.
This has been my exact problem, its so hard to stay disciplined but even more so to be motivated to keep going. Need discipline!
How did you get your pistol squat? Have been trying for some time but cannot seem to get it
I truly and deeply hope that you know about the influence your speech has on ones moment. Thank you, Hampton.
I appreciate his kind words of encouragement 🙏
Thank you brother.
I'm about to go on a little jog. Maybe 3 miles. Maybe 6 miles. Either way, you helped to get me back to thinking about my fitness and mental health.
Perfect timing. I started on diet/exercise changes 2 weeks ago. I want more energy and stamina.
Thank you, Hampton.
I don't know how this happened but i needed this at this exact moment and day. Thank you Hampton!
You are the curator of your life. That's what is helping me. Because curators are very exact and careful, acquiring what is most beneficial.
I subscribed to you for fitness and I’m coming out a new man. Your seriously a game changer. Thank you and keep changing lives. Love you man
I'm really grateful that you exist in this world ❤
Really helped me going through hard times ✨
If you can trick yourself to start, things may very well start flowing again.
those fireflies in the background at 13:50
Must be something in the air, maybe it’s the time of year or the collective aura idk!
I love this style video and the candid focus. It's like I'm talking to a friend about where we're at and what's working. Great video!
Thank you so much for this gift to us, Hamden. You’re changing the world, one gentle nudge towards the lives we want for ourselves at a time.
Such a refreshing change of pace from the “standard” fitness influencer. Thank you 🙏
I just want to say THANK YOU!
Good to see another episode of Cofftea with Hampton 🎉
I went through all of that and loss of immediate family members. Everything I lost I gained in fat lol. But my why no longer mattered. I made the decision to get in shape and study for the ASVAB to join the military and I decided the exercise path I wanted to go was calisthenics because it feels like the most practical sustainable longevity producing path and I found your page so thank you for your work, what you provide for free, and most importantly thank you for this video. It found me at the absolute perfect time.
I needed this today. I started watching your channel for fitness but also love the tidbits of the mentality that goes into it.
This was a great reminder and something I've been thinking about a lot recently. Thank you 💜
Thank you for your videos, and sharing your times with us!
You have motivated me to do better and get stronger as a person, so thank you!
Also the peer pressure, you do not give up
This is great. It’s easy to get off track - these are all good reminders that are actionable without being overwhelming.
Thanks!
Hello brother Hampton I'm saving this video for later as I am rushing to work atm. Glad ur coffee time is back at least for now
your videos just make me feel so positive about getting my shit together, instead of the guilt and shame i feel most of the time.
This was one of the most peaceful videos I have ever listened to. Thank you.
Thank you for doing this. It was perfect timing for me. I really appreciate your content and I LOVE your book 😊. Have a wonderful day😉👍
Thanks for sharing your kind thoughts.
I am 67
I began walking 3 miles daily in 1993, when my dad had his heart attack. Always outside. I have had many walking partners. My black lab for 14 years. My youngest daughter began walking with me when she was 20. She is now 40. It’s my best good habit.
I also do weights and bands and stretches on mon wed Fri and have for
Over 20 years.
As always. I love the positivity and down-to-earthness you portray in your videos! You also have a beautiful day ❤
Hey Hampton!
Truly.
you are such an inspiring person. so authentic and real. thank you for sharing your wisdom!
I just bought your book and I think that this format that you're starting is going to be extremely beneficial for me and I thank you.
i feel like this kinda stuff is better than those high energy, david goggins 3am motivational videos because he actually gives you great advice and gives you information and doesnt just tell you
"DO IT NOW" he tells you how to get started and makes it entertaining throughout aswell
Hello Hampton,
I really enjoyed this video. I find that taking a few deep breaths immediately helps too. Helps move from what you should do to actually doing it. It makes motivation come more easily as it reduces stress and brings in that clarity you speak of.
Hampton, you are awesome! Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work😊
Man! this feels like it's tailored exactly for me. I gotta start listening to your podcast!
Ok, random question - have you ever tried any rock climbing and/or martial arts? two of my favorite things in life. if you ever come to Colorado let's go climb dude!
I really enjoyed this! Thank you so much for bringing here to exercise and taking care of ourselves ❤
