- I've never run down so many flights of stairs in my life.
Anyways, this is a high-rise office building with an EST3 system. The system is two-stage, with a separate audio zone for each floor and stairwell. Hope you guys enjoy!
Edit: The strobes on several floors were non-functional as a power supply in the 9th floor node failed. There was a Chubb-Edwards technician on-site fixing the issue the same day this was taken, and the issue has since been fixed.

THAT MESSAGE SOUNDS SO GOOD WITH THE REVERB
nice test!
Thanks!
0:41 “Let’s make some fucking noise!” Love that attitude lmfao 🤣
Lmao it was 7:15 PM on a Wednesday night so I was ready to go home.
The sound of the alarm sounds like a reverse signal for a school bus
YOUR ATTENTION. YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. THIS BUILDING IS IN FULL ALARM. PLEASE EXIT THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY USING THE NEAREST AVAILABLE STAIRWELL. AND REPORT THE STATUS OF YOUR FLOOR AT THE MAIN FLOOR SECURITY DESK.
BAAP BAAP BAAP
Ngl This EST Code 3 tone sounds like a Simplex Code 3 tone
At least they told everyone before sounding the fire alarm and said that the lights will be flashing for an hour. If you have seizures especially if they are triggered by flashing lights don't look at the flashing lights put on really dark sunglasses on until the test is over.
We have to test paging anyways, so it makes sense to announce when we're testing instead of relying on notices given to the tenants.
ok now this is what Massachusetts tone sounded like though. so uh I think Nintendo of Canada has this alarm too though. well maybe.
Interesting! Yeah, I'm in Calgary, Alberta, so it might be similar.
@@Twentythree33 i think Massachussetts has this tone but kinda faster with code 3 just the tone but I revive the familiar classic est voice evac message from general electric style.
If the fire alarms went off there i would spend my time in the stairwell there 😂😂
That looks like the grey and white bell saint Richard school
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 💀
Cool cool what's up with the hoes at 12:52 looks like probably going to a standpipe connection sprinkler verification too?
I think so. I'll ask a sprinkler fitter on Monday.
Yep it's a standpipe connection.
Best workout ever. At least he’s going down instead of up. What’s your step count on drill days. Talk to building management about “Cyberlock” one Key for everything.
Oh definitely lol. I work for a fire alarm company so I do all sorts of buildings. I don't have a smart watch but I'd assume my step count would be in the 50,000 range.
@@Twentythree33 I would love to legally pull fire alarms all day. I work for Hillsborough County Public Schools, in FLORIDA. I get paid to have FUN. I’m a IT computer support technician.
Oh nice! IT is definitely a good field. Pulling fire alarms all day seemed like a dream when I was younger and now I'm living it! Chasing ground faults, however, is not nearly as fun.
@@Twentythree33 I love the voice Evac systems. The schools I go to that have them, I think it’s the best. It really works with ppl that have a sensory overload, because it tells them what to do instead of just being annoying.
@@kland15haha I live here too
Pretty good video, except I did hear you swearing some. I wonder what building it was in.🏢
Haha thanks. Yeah it was like 7:30 PM so no one heard me swear. I can't disclose the building name for privacy reasons, sorry.
*jizz*
Attention attention the false alarm
Has sounded please don’t go to the elevator please go to the stairs please standby for the false alarm thank you.
I took the elevator 😱
The same panel (including display) as my middle school. But also because of that, it reminds me of one of the reasons I don’t like EST.
Yeah I'm not fond of EST either. This one worked quite well though.
No not simplex is edwards
Yes it is Edwards.
Cool
How tall is that building?
29 floors.
When it's a high rise I think it has about 20-30 floors I'm not sure because I'm not an architect I think I'm right if you think I'm wrong look it up on Google or whatever search engine you use.
What name is this hotel?
Yay loud and strobes!
YAY LOUD!!!
What’s the tone called
1:41 that speaker is either tapped really loud or it echoes which makes it sound so loud
What is that building called
This Building looks like the Twin Towers of the original WTC… The emergency stairwell and the elevator lobbies are more the identical…
It was built around the same time, so that does make sense. This is in Canada though.
What do both messages say I can hear the one say something about if you're in the stairwell and the other says something about the building in full alarm.
The stairwell message says "Your attention. Your attention please. There is an alarm condition in the building. If you are in this stairwell, please evacuate the building using this stairwell."
The second stage message says "Your attention. Your attention please. This building is in full alarm. Please evacuate the building using the nearest available stairwell. Fire wardens report the status of your floor at the main floor security desk." The system has custom messages and floor-by-floor evac, with stairwell audio zones as well.
@Twentythree33 I never knew EST has that functionality on high-rise systems.
That fire alarm sounds like a repetitive horn
🎷
Nice!
Thanks!
Bro sound like fire alarm guy 💀
Not sure if that's a compliment or insult haha
Needs more speakers in some areas
It was louder in person. Also in the stairwells it only sounded occasionally for whatever reason.
EST pee
Thank you for making this video. I have autism.
My pleasure! I have autism too.
@@Twentythree33 same
What type of fire alarm is it
The panel is an EST3. The notification appliances are mostly Edwards 965-series speaker/strobes, with Genesis speakers in the stairwells.
I like loud and light
Same
How long did it take?
The bell test, in total, took about 45 minutes. The entire inspection took 4 days, or about 37 hours.
That’s not bad at my school they had to fix some problems with the fire alarms so we sat in class all day listening to fire alarms and that went on for a week that was the worst week for my ears ever.
Oh god no. This bell test was done after hours, when the building was closed. I think we started the test at about 7 PM.
That’s what the school should’ve done and the type of the alarms they had made someone jump out their seat and was just annoying it’s like they would start then stop and go for long periods of time the stop and go off at random moments.
Yes definitely. I think the reason they didn't do after hours is because the billing rate for after hours is significantly higher.
