First video I’ve ever seen of Edwards 10 strobes! This is the exact same bell/strobe/sound that we had in my elementary. In Grade 1 I had a drill during gym and it didn’t sound too loud there, but in Grade 2 we had one during music, and with there being an alarm in the music room, that drill absolutely petrified me! Fast forward to 5th Grade and I got to set it off a couple times for a couple drills. Good times!
A high rise hotel I used to stay at had 270-SPOs and bells on strobe plates, like the ones seen here. Now, it has become apartments, and the bells on strobe plates were replaced by Genesis speaker strobes.
Does the old 6500 panel act as a NAC extender/booster panel? I noticed it was still up and it sounded like its piezo was sounding with the one in the Quickstart.
Is that your bike in the electrical room Nic? Looks super cool. Also did they just replace the exit signs in this building? If so you should keep one of the originals.
That was one of the custodians bike I wasn't on that job replacing the exit signs one of our coworkers was doing that I think he's all done now so they're all thrown out the old ones I don't think there was many of them still intact most of them have been beat up in someway over the years
Now that's what I call "Durability testing in the real world" usually the damage is almost always cause kids love to jump up and try and hit the sign which results in it falling down so the custodian has to reattach it again.
I'm gonna run if I feel like running I'm pretty sure it's only if you're a student at elementary schools that care if the kids in them run I've had races with my friends down the hallways of my school no one cares lol

those bells sound way more potent on continious tone then a modern horn strobe would be..

5:36 just a joke but maybe the smoke from that train set the alarm off! 👍😉
10 inch single stroke bells are damn reliable
yup...shame they arent code 3....you could straight up use them as a backing beat on code 3
I'd rather have a bell on continuous to scare the sh*t out of kids
@@Vigilance108If you think this is loud, the MB10-24 is way louder
Nothing like some 10” bells to max out the microphone.

No there is nothing left of the 6500 just the can
The Quickstart piezo was having issues, hence why it sounds like ass. I've come across a couple that sound like this.
@@Twentythree33 probably cause it spent a few years solid in trouble
Were those strobes retrofit in the school? Since it's a school from the 70s.
Nice video how often do you have to do a fire drill at the school’s?
There's supposed 6 per year
do the bells ring if the burglar alarm is activated? alot of schools in uk the bells are connected to the burglar alarm relay
They are only fire alarms

Does the EST QuickStart at your Middle School put up much of a fight anymore now that the firmware has been updated on it?
I don’t think this is the same middle school.
@@maxdutiel I know. I was just asking lol.
Haven't really had to deal with it since then
@@nics-systems-electric Until in May 🤣🤣🤣
@@IanGSully and then again last weekend
We’re the strobes and the bells on different plates?
The 439D fire alarm bell and the 10-24 fire alarm bell is all same
No they are not. They are a complete different type.
First comment I think! also I love your videos
Is this your Work Because it’s fun and I want to work
kinda I work with my school district electricians and we also do most of the fire drills
☹☹please don't let those exit signs go in the trash WATT I would pay for those old exit signs
They aren't anything very special most of them were damaged anyways I don't know how I get them to you so they are all thrown out now
Are there bigger classrooms
I didn't go in any of the classrooms in this video
