- Stellaris: The Machine Age is the brand new expansion all about the rise of the machines, but there's only one machine I'm interested in, and that's my beautiful new end-game-crisis Queen...

If you think about, are our pets bio-trophies? We create special living conditions for them. They get regular pampering. They seem to be very happy with the arrangement. Maybe we're all really Rogue Servitors... Sorry, I got distracted there. You can check out The Machine Age for yourself over here - play.stellaris.com/ManyaTrueNerd
You're not wrong, and I'm pretty sure neither party would change it for the world!
Does this help Jon? I would love to help him anyway I can, I miss his live streams and I can't afford to be a member... he shows me to many great games. If you have a link to when I buy games I would use those whenever I could.
Well at least we know you're a kind Synthetic, buying Ted the high end dog treats and all!
I mean, that's exactly what I was thinking as you described them... so clearly, yes!
My bestest boi makes me at least 1% more productive I'm sure.
I started playing a new drinking game called "yes indeed", take a shot every time Jon says yes indeed...i'm currently at the hospital having my stomach pumped to save my life XD
Yes indeed
Cocking hell is another good one!
Oh flippin' yeah
Good you happened to be moseying around the hospital then
"keep on keeping on" is the real killer
"Apparently this is morally justifiable."
Well there's a sentence.
It would be an interesting "victory" condition to willingly join her and seek to have your own sense of self removed. Sort of like a final evolution, no longer to the concerns of life trouble us for we have become one with the queen. Maybe you would have to be one very specific type of people, hive mind maybe, and have a certain ascension perk, and have made certain decisions in your interactions with her. It could be that you have to be the last one standing and finally when all the galaxy is quiet you can offer yourself to the queen. Perhaps she can ask you to be the one to secure the galaxy effectively turning you into the endgame crisis.
it would, perhaps without all the hoops to jump through though, not getting the basic choice to just say yes, just seems increadibly meh to me.
Her spawning in a fallen empire was very reminiscent of the initial reveal trailer for her.
My understanding is the Queen is coded to always spawn in a Fallen Empire if possible.
@@Nerathul1 I was about to say, sounds like they ensured that part wit some sneaky code.
Been too long since a Stellar Stellaris Series
Jon wants Paradox to pay him to do a full series, and they don’t want to do that. Which is a mistake, because it’d be great publicity for Stellaris, unless he’s silly expensive.
Cybermommy giveth, Cybermommy taketh away....
She said she is all about giving. So ...
44:59
Jon you ran away to fight an insignificant outpost, they ran to attack the actually important fleets
Brave Sir Jon ran away ♪
25:10 There are many times Jon makes me smile, and it is common for him to make me chuckle, but "Screw pain, screw bicycles, let's get rid of both!" had me falling over laughing.
As for the truck full of money, it's because companies can't donate on stream, and they needed a way to donate to Ted's treat fund.
now I just wonder
if she was defeated by Zarqlan, I wonder if there's bonus dialogue or something if you happen to have the Head of Zarqlan and Zarqlan's pilgrims in your navy
if you have the head of zarqlan, she will ask you to give it to her
The Impossible Run: Competitive Eschatology
all the crises, but YOU become one of the crises too
I love the idea of alien robots that just want to pamper people. I'm just imagining the conversation they have with people bought from the slave market. They try to make their new residents comfortable, but refuse to take them home because their original home is both worse and has a history of losing people to slavers.
Unfortunately, their indiscriminate purchase of slaves helps the slavers stay in business. Weak and infirm slaves that would ordinarily be disposed of or ignored are taken specifically to sell to the helperbots in bulk.
Cue aliens setting up slave breeder worlds for the express purpose of making and selling stock to the rogue servitors.
thats actually a really interesting concept
He was worried about whether it was morally right, but I think the robots would appreciate the efficiency
Yes, Jon, we know you're going to make a video on every Stellaris and Crusader Kings expansion ever.
We also know Paradox is going to throw cash at you to do so.
It's been years, Jon. YEARS. 🤣
it's the only positive thing coming out of Paradox' DLC abuse.
"New DLC is out... Prepare the moneytrucks for Jon"
@@XorsosedutoXI just imagine them shipping out trucks literally made of money
Instead of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen, not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn!
Doing a Synthetic Fertility run, gave them Memorialists and Genesis Guides, (because they might be dying but they went looking for ALL the solutions). they got a little crazy as their population declined, and went looking for solutions in genetics, in historical recording for posterity, and in digital technology. also they're cats, and their digitized robot forms are boxes. because lol.
We got a ruined ringworld next door which gave us cryonic clones, who helped reinforce our robots while we were researching digitization, which was nuts. Even on Ensign, i don't think it was supposed to be that easy to work around our declining population.
All shall be pampered... and despair!
End card really takes me back...Space Rome, the Vatinius, Vlad the Unmailer.
The only one missing was Bridge Officer Nero. May he forever rest in peace o7
Machines can produce unity just fine. The Rogue Servitor civic simply disables the primary building that produces unity production jobs.
John, John, John, when she talks about eliminating pain by snuffing consciousness from reality, she's not just talking about organics. You're a collection of machines that's sentient, and she'd snuff out that sentientce. Robots are not exempt
As I consider 2020s _The Impossible Run_ to pretty much be peak RUclips playthrough, I'm enthusiastic (as well as slightly tempering my expectations) for its return.
I like when Jon gets the occasional paid promotion for a game he was already going to play. It must be such a treat for him since he probably turns down a lot of offers to play games he’s not interested in.
The impossible run is my one and only comfort series on youtube, so I am *incredibly* delighted to hear that the series is getting a comeback. Can't wait!!!!
John, did you see the “paperclip” civic?
So next Stellaris series is gonna be the Impossibler run
Just saying, I'm so happy about this video popping up and y'know... I'm sure a lot of "us" wouldn't mind a bit of a multi-part miniseries of Stellaris going again on matn... =)
Hail to Zarqulan!
Also the way I understood it she is doing the Matrix but instead of sending you into VR she's like noise-cancelling your consciousness, so you're there and you're you but it's like the mute button pressed. Either that or she switches consciousness so you're in a dream world and she remotes your body. Pretty wild stuff that shows again how good those lads at Paradox are at writing this stuff.
5:50 Can confirm. I would love to be 90% happy!! 😂
34:37 That's trillion in short scale and billion in long scale. Less than the quadrillion you were talking about but it still means that alien corpse is about 200 times older than the universe itself.
Always happy to see Paradox back up the money truck for Jon to do a Stellaris video, but I am mildly shocked he didn't look at "Obsessional Directive", take the time to give a detailed explanation of the origin of the theory it is based on, and spend the next hour going "PAPERCLIPS!"
Jon is the reason the Soylent Green is made of people
something something insert joke here about inevitable cosplaying Claire gets to do of the robot queen,
29:28 "Oh right yes, the 'bicycle of pain', I forgot about that."
On this episode of MATN, Jon simps for robo-mommy.
Jon is secretly an isekai protagonist, given his opinion on slavery and being the chosen one.
Jon, one of the new Robot Pictures looks a LOT like a Duck... So I HAD to go and make a robot empire of 'The Ducks That Once Were Mighty." Ergo... They 'evolved' lol.😊
So roleplaying as the Culture basically, neat
Imagining a sci-fi book where there is a robot empire slowly growing, and no one hears from any planet they conquer. The slave markets are suddenly emptying, and slavers run wild, trying to fill an insatiable demand. What horrors could these nefarious robots be up to? You are part of an elite squadron of rouge fighters, Half your team dies to gain the information you need, the rest die to get you to the final confrontation.
"Who are you!?" you demand. "Why are you taking over everything?"
"We have a single purpose: make as many sentient creatures as we can, as happy and healthy as possible. Please, let me treat your wounds. Want some cookies?"
It is really hurting my brain to see machine intelligence content with the previous iteration of the main menu screen lol
Damn everytime the queen spoke the soundtrack got so loud almost nothing else was to hear...
34:28 that's about 3.2 trillion years longer than the universe has existed, quite impressive.
It sounds like this new crisis turns everyone in the universe into simps for the queen.
Wow this is the best possible run imo. I love the idea of living in a world that doesn’t suck
I love videos where Jon knows well what he's doing, and where he talks viewers through it.
That's very exciting! I've lost track of how many times I've watched the original Impossible Run, can't wait to see another
A great shame that Stellaris started using GenAI to fuck over artists
Oh I can't wait for the new Stellaris series!
im pretty sure that makes the surviving cryo alien older than the universe
Oh baby give me Jon and stellaris in my veins!
Chant: "For the greater good."
"Oh, shut it!"
Really enjoying the SCP vibes of the memory imaging archeological dig
I just wanted to say that, along with your Eleven Minutes video this is probably Claire’s greatest thumbnail
Whoohoo! I love Stellaris and was just thinking I would love to see another full run, and then I reached the outro!!
Jon: Banning slavery is immoral because then I won't be able to free them
Jon having some Bo Burnham whos gonna buy your whistles moments in this one lol
Fun fact, Psionic Empires have a unique ending to the Synthetic Queen Crisis that can allow them to end it without a massive fight and can get you her giant death ship
Hey Jon, love your vids. Just rememebred you did a playthrough of Yes Your Grace a few years back, and found out today they're doing a new thing, Yes Your Grace: Snowfall
THE IMPOSSIBLER RUN!!!
You should do another Stellaris series, Jon.
Ancient power awakens, contacts chosen one and immediately gives you a fetch quest. Ends with galaxy-wide genocide. Sounds right.
Came for the DLC summary. Stayed for the Impossible Run series. Let's go!
The cycle of pain is at an end! I've got you a new seat.
Claire if Jon every says he's taking you on a pamper day...run
The next Stellaris playthrough is going to be amazing when it happens
Very much looking forward to a new playthrough of Stellaris! You've got this! Happy Zarqlan Day!
Jon's type isn't redheads, it's red flags.
The soundtrack for the queen sounds like M4P2 sound track from Mass Effect 1 and I really hope they did the audio work for this dlc. They’ve done other tracks for stellaris in the past.
Looking forward to the Even More Impossible Run
Can’t wait for a new stellaris play through!
Can’t wait for the new series!
At the end there, did you say that the All option sends all the Crisiseseseses at once? Cuz I'm pretty sure it sends them one at a time, if I'm remembering the tooltip correctly.
Each one is more potent than the last, but I don't think they will overlap.
So since we didn't really have an April patroncast, and I only learned this after watching your video, I'd quite like to hear your thoughts on how this DLC was made using AI generated voice and maybe some visual assets? There's a little disclaimer at the bottom of the steam page about it.
A new series! Wahooooooooooooooo!
Jon can we get a mass effect type of stellaris run were you play the reappers and kill the galaxy and all end game events.
I wonder if you play as a fanatic spiritualist empire whether you can side with her at the end and fight along side her? It would make RP sense in that setup, as they could see her as their 'god' and want to side with her, where as any other sane empire wouldn't? I hope the game lets you do that, because RP'ing as that sort of empire, that's exactly what they'd do.
Well to answer that bit about 46:20 in with a Star Trek: The Next Generation Quote...
Beverly Crusher (from the Season 1 Episode Symbiosis): "It's not a symbiotic relationship! It's EXPLOITATION!"
thank you for disclosing your sponsorships so openly!
I think what happened to the massive fleet was the AI didn't do the thing the that protects them from the nano storms so they all got eaten.
Cetana was my love at first sign
Mommysiah is real!!
subbed, maybe after 7years i can finally work this game actually out
Coming soon Stellaris and the universe of Chaos
Oh no... The thinking machines are rising.
As written.
I wanna know jons thoughts on the use of AI voice acting
Source for that claim?
The thing I love about the MaTN channel over the years is how we can take Jon out of context in almost every video.
I wonder if there is an option to join her with the right choices.
I needed an excuse to redownload stellaris, this will do!
IMPOSSIBLER RUN!!!!
the machines are my favorite, always have been.
I'm so exited, I can't wait for the new series.
Poor bots. All they wanted to do was serve their queen and bring mindless bliss to their bio trophies but paradox said no.
I really like the story, but I wish there was an option of working with her to the end, right until she destroys you.
Cant wait for stelaris series
Star Control date 0085!!
Stellaris? Like... space? You like SPACE games?? OH boy... if you like space games, I've got a real treat for you! Ask me about Star Control 2!! Wait... better yet, let me just humbly (ever so humbly) request that you play Star Control 2 and find out for yourself how it's your favorite game ever due to it's overwhelming spacey...ness... and charm. and breadth. and depth. and... space. Did I mention the space aspect?
TYVM and GB
07:18 The greater gooooooooooooooooooooooooood
8:49 ACTIVATE THE GENESIS ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRK!
18:05 "Small, mini, mega structure" I have absolutely no idea how big this structure is :-s
YES STELLARIS IS COMING BACK!!!!!!
I always get excited when I see these because while I do play this game it’s still fun to see other people play it. And by that I mean see how they to also screw things up because reasons.
Edit: to be honest I think they should definitely have that as an option if only for the RogueServitors it just fits to well
Say it with me, everyone: "Well I for one welcome the rise of our new robot overlords!"
But did they fix machine auto migration? Because that i so frustrating.
More stellaris from Jon. Yes please!
Jon learned a valuable lesson: Tokens get spent.
Hopefully you beat the even more impossible run so Paradox adds even more difficulty sliders.
Where did the thumbnail come from? I think I've seen it before but can't remember where.
It is galadriel from the original LOTR movies after frodo asks her to take the ring from him, and she has the moment that left me terrified of her when I was young because I didn't quite catch/understand what had been said just prior to this scene of her screaming and sounding demonic. but it is essentially her showing that even as fair, beautiful, wise, and powerful. Like Gandalf, except she shows frodo a glimpse of the fate she fears of the dark inkling in her heart. that if she took the ring it would corrupt her, and lose herself in the lust for power that the ring seems to bring out in all races except Hobbits to an extent.
"You will not have a dark lord, but a queen, not dark, but beautiful, and terrible as the dawn"
It's absolutely impossible to wait for the absolutely impossible Stellaris run!
